Anyone else find it ironic that we have the GreatWall of China on Gox?
Yeah.... that wall says " FCK YOU CHINA"

... Because they all want to increase their bitcoin stash. They all know btc will stay for long term.
What China did was just a barrier to get around. Its ironic that mining is booming in China and local vendors make mining chips.... There is noway to stop capital leaking by btc. Might as well open and suck foreigner investors in.
That's the thing, China didn't do anything other than plug some holes in its currency walls, using gold as money is a lot more banned than bitcoin but it's still in common use and most of the sales sites with a bitcoin option still have it on. Daft buying at higher prices when there's bears around, let them come to you if they're so eager to sell. I agree that Chinese has been using GOLD as a medium of exchanges for years.... The more they fight the more attractive BTC will be. This is the mentality of ppl who live in state controlled countries.

ppl that are panicking , are forgetting one thing.... Fundamentals of the btc. They think China is the end game. :/

add 678 to the poll ? its already went lower. than 678? are you on a different timeline? oh shit, is the space time continuum mess up again? I guess your looking at gox. Can you really move between them like that? http://bitcoinwisdom.com/http://bitcoinity.org/markets/Why are folks trying to catch it and not letting it drop? The ask walls get used up for the pushes down. Because they all want to increase their bitcoin stash. They all know btc will stay for long term. What China did was just a barrier to get around. Do you know they can just buy mining gear right? What chinese government is clueless about is..... ahem... you cant stop it if ppl use btc to transfer capital.

how low will bitcoin go (( good question! time for a new poll.... It will stop just in the moment all available (Panic-)Coins in China are bought by our wales. I think we will encounter in the area between 500,00$ - 400,00$. I hope so... the market is everyone, stop thinking some whale will save you that kinda of thinking will have you go ALL IN at 1200$ No. I don't think so. You can call it whale, big players, investors or how you like. Or you seriously thinking that this kind of strong holding the price is caused by thousands of casual Bitcoin-Users with an average wallet amount of 5 BTC? Yes deep pockets are buying because they're vastly investing in business building on btc platform. Ppl will know soon who they are and the noobs will come here with a post like " This is not decentralized yo.... 900 ppl hold 60% of btc.... yo "

2000btc to $800..... wow awsome I used to spend that amount for few mining rigs
|
|
|
didn't Thailand ban Bitcoin a while a go? No.... they didnt "ban" Bitcoin.... Gee where did you get that from? Their banks just refused to deal with bitcoin related business.

Well ladies and gents, this flushing is going to tell us A LOT about the state of bitcoin and where the money has come and is coming from.
We won't be able to see the full picture for months or at least weeks, but when we can see it, we will know much better about what kind of investors made up the rally in the East, which ones are long term and where future money can and can't come from there - AND maybe more importantly, we will know how much of the rally really came from the East and how much really came from the West.
And I suspect we will never have to worry about China "leading" the markets again. Which is A - O - K with me.
I was with you up until the last sentence, Honey Badger, why the antipathy towards China? I was never quite confident that China had any real long term future with bitcoin. And I would rather, in an ideal world, have bitcoin be driven by people in countries that have more freedoms, because from a PR standpoint it makes bitcoin appear more solid as well. +1 Some of these Westerners are just clueless of how controlling the CCCP is.

|
Would the damn Chinese just go and not let the door hit them in the ass on the way out?
Yes please, can't wait for that. really? is this how you say "thank you china"? if they hadn't panic bought a few weeks ago the price wouldn't even be above 300 right now NO idiot, thats your opinion... and there is no fact backing it up. China is notorious for market manipulation. Go live there and see stocks market for yourself. The whole largest volume exchange is more likely to be rigged.

Yup why would anyone think China is all pro-btc? These are the ill-informed Western who has never lived in China.

Yes please, can't wait for that. Then they will copy btc and call it CHINACOIN .... Typical of them anyway. Do you guys see how big players hold their walls on Gox? They're buying all the coins right now. Yeah.... please dont cry about bitcoin distribution EVER again....

Does anyone have a link for the latest news from China? I'm a little groggy from an all night booze up.
Supposidly Chinese government has banned payment processors from working with Bitcoin exchanges. Leading to the "ok situation" where you can buy and sell bitcoins and withdraw your cash, but you can't put more cash back into the system. ( ?) http://www.coindesk.com/china-bans-payment-companies-working-bitcoin-exchanges-sources-claim/Unfortunately, it seems to be shaping up to be true. :-( Thanks Shit, and because of the advice of you dumbasses I reserved half. Fuck! teach you to listen to us I should have known better. lol I did it too... so now we sell into this 20% drop??? F that, lets see how this plays out. Probably not advisable. Sell into the rebound, then wait for the next leg down Until you realise you sell at the bottom and that rebound keeps going up..... Easy profit as they say?

How does the Chinese government proclaim to everyone through government videos, the great and amazing Bitcoin, only to outlaw its use a few months later?
I think they like bitcoin as a reserve currency versus the USD, but not as an escape against capital controls. So they want to make sure they have all the info on people holding them. Thats right.... thats why they will remove btc from being used as currency (no tax evasion) Then remove 3rd party payment system.... easier to check/trace identities. Heck did you guys know in China, registering ISP account requires government ID? Even using public internet requires government ID....
|

Kinda sucks that BTC is basically a hostage in a hand of China's gov at the moment. We need to break free and fly away.
Thats what we're doing right now? breaking free from China.... Only ppl who believed the future of BTC in China are panicking.

I guess this is just a step to regulate bitcoin through banks only.... NO 3rd party payment system. So now the CCCP can have all bitcoin transactions identified.

Gox screwed me out of low prices again when it has absolutely failed to move with a low $100 higher than every other exchange.
