221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is ETH will hit 400$ on: June 13, 2018, 03:31:19 AM
Quite simply, if Bitcoin falls below $6000 then yes, if it doesn't then no. ETH's price is driven more by the overall market than it is by what is actually going on with ETH itself.
222  Economy / Speculation / Re: Need money... on: June 13, 2018, 03:30:12 AM
As others said, no one knows with certainty when the market will recover or even if it will. Likewise no one knows your personal situation as well as you do. If you really need the money then you're just going to have to withdraw it and live with it if in 2 months time it would've been worth double what you withdrew. That's the nature of investing and it's why generally you should only invest a small portion of your finances..
223  Economy / Economics / Re: AT&T Cleared to Buy Time Warner on: June 13, 2018, 03:27:41 AM
I don't see this decision being revoked by any judge, there's little point in trying to delay the inevitable. It's really plain to see from the outside looking in that there is little in the way of controls to stop high level price collusion in the US and to promote competition. Mobile phone providers are a clear example of this, the US is meant to be at the forefront of competition and business yet has some of the most expensive mobile phone network costs in the world. While there are some legitimate reasons for this the biggest contributor is that the companies act as an oligopoly in which it is more profitable for them not to compete on price. The same thing happens across a large majority of industries and it won't be any different when this deal is struck and they're competing with Netflix and Amazon.
224  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC is preparing cryptocurrency fraud crackdown... on: June 13, 2018, 03:21:56 AM
It's not going to be pretty when the regulators do begin to crackdown on the cryptocurrency market but after the initial shock to the market it will be a good thing. The market has pretty much been a playground for corruption, manipulation and collusion for the last years and once that ends it will attract a lot more investors.
225  Economy / Economics / Re: New money gets grabbed faster than speed of light on: March 31, 2018, 09:35:09 AM
These people are fed off so quickly that it becomes very difficult for them to stick around, it's a shame because we will need them eventually to achieve greater adoption but many will be afraid to enter for fear of further losses.
226  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox2 - exchanges sell Bitcoin he not really have on: March 31, 2018, 09:32:32 AM
It's not really possible for someone to sell bitcoin that they do not have, these same like very false accusations without much to actually back them up. Please provide further evidence to support your point and then I might be a little bit more inclined to believe what you have to say,
Posible if you - Bitcoin exchanger

Possible to sell them but it's not going to last very long, people will soon decide to withdraw them and then there's no actual bitcoin there for them to withdraw. Only way it would work for an extended period is if people never withdrew or enough deposited to cover it.

228  Economy / Economics / Re: Government Furious on: March 30, 2018, 11:29:57 PM
The capitalization of bitcoin transactions reaches billions of dollars but governments of any country can not get revenues or income from these transactions and this makes governments in many countries complain of the existence of bitcoin because it is considered a threat to the economy of a country. Should tax apply to users who do bitcoin transactions? When are users comfortable with this situation? what is the right regulation to address these issues to help each country improve its economy?

Right now tax should apply, bitcoin is not a local currency and until that time tax should be levied. Governments have a real difficult time levying that tax and the easier route is to penalize all those dealing in cryptocurrencies to spite the few who do not pay their taxed and avoid the millions in dollars of tax revenue,
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Convince me why ETH will reach back to $800-$1000 this year on: March 29, 2018, 09:29:19 PM
We might never see ETH so high again, I don't think it will be this year. The price looks destined to fall further, potentially down as low as 4/5k for bitcoin and $200 or so for eth and then it will be a slow and long recovery from there, there will be little hype so it won't be rapid in any sense.
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency courses, thoughts? on: March 28, 2018, 06:09:11 PM
I haven't myself but have heard mostly that they're just regurgitating information that is freely and readily available elsewhere without the large fees attached to it. That's like most online courses. People some to have a mental block in that they don't feel like they can learn unless they're paying someone else to teach them.

You're thinking about the scammy ones, usually by some crypto preacher or something of that sort. They mostly tackle investment advice, and you'll pick up nothing new if you know how to google. The one OP cited is actually free and legit. It goes in-depth into the blockchain side of Bitcoin and crypto in general, and I've heard good things about it.

Yep, I am. I seem to come across a lot more of them then anything else. Maybe because they're pushed that much harder than the legitimate ones. Given it has your stamp of approval and it's free then maybe I will check it out for myself. It would be of great benefit if there was more free quality information for people to learn about crypto.

232  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do's for trade in recent downtrend??? on: March 24, 2018, 05:47:31 PM
I think a good trader always have a good strategy to trade himself to apply.  I do trade for not so long time. I got a lot of experience I think. I have passed many times on the market. so I want to say few step on this downtrend market and let me know your experience as well please..

* Keep patience.  don't get panicked.
* Wait for the right support moment to buy coin if you have to money to invest cause market on so down it will move for sure and then it will give you much and more profit then loss.
* Try to understand the technical analysis. where the support level is.
* Don't sell your coin on loss. Try to hold just wait for a move.
* Crypto is always a magic so please be patience it will move up on uptrend after all FUD.

Let me share all your important experience and ideas please

Just some of my thoughts. Trying to buy dips in a downtrend and hoping for a bounce at support is really really tough, it's much easier to do in bull markets, a better strategy is to sell and buy back which ties in to my next point. You can sell your coins at a loss if there is a better opportunity in another coin or you aim to buy them back later at a lower price.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: And now? on: March 23, 2018, 04:22:09 PM
Pretty much an expected event that I pointed out days ago already. Currently, the main challenge will be to continue rushing up as soon as possible through the $10,000 level. I am not yet comfortable to call a date where we will see the market reach over $10,000 again, and that's mainly because of how the short term demand doesn't seem to be strong enough to maintain even $9000 for a longer period of time. That being said, it may very well be that we have seen a brand new bottom being marked in the charts for ever, and that alone is already a great and worthwhile achievement. I'll give it a few more days before I come up with a more complete prediction.

The 6k in early feb or the 7.2k we saw just a few days ago? It would be a brave man right now to predict with certainty that the price won't test 6k again. As you said, there's so little buying pressure and also not much selling. Whichever increases first will decide where the market is going. I'd say more likely down just because large sell-offs can be triggered much easier than the FOMO buying.
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whales always be bathing on: March 23, 2018, 04:19:42 PM
But are they done yet? I could see this being the beginning of the pump and I could also see another month of terror and them pushing the prices even lower. I am good either way as I managed my portfolio quite decent back in December but a bear run would sting a little bit nonetheless.

We have to be close to a price that even the whales will be afraid of pushing it any lower. They have to be able to recover the price upwards for their strategy to work, if for example the resistance at 6k is broken then it could spell danger for them and the market as a whole. That's why we'll see strong resistance above that price and probably accumulation in the 7-9k range for the next few weeks before a real run begins.
235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this FUD or a genuine cause for concern? on: March 22, 2018, 11:28:22 PM
It's FUD, it might hurt the price a bit but it's nothing to worry about. No one blames the church when the priests are found to be fondling little boys and that's much more their fault than the blockchain technology is at fault for people misusing it. Actually eventually blockchain technology could be useful for tracking these guys because you could see exactly where certain things are moving around.
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $100,000 again on: March 22, 2018, 11:25:42 PM
Nice one, very clever, very funny. BUTTT guys, bitcoin isn't even going to reach 20k again, have you not seen the threads which are exactly the same ones that we've seen over the years. They might as well all be changed to 'bitcoin will never reach (enter arbitrary number here) again'

I'm all for bitcoin taking a while to reach 100k so I can accumulate a little more in the mean time. If it reaches 100k and I'm not in a position to retire then I'll be disappointed.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can now look for houses priced in Cryptocurrency on: March 21, 2018, 04:02:13 PM
Have just discovered the following site:

https://www.cryptohome.us/

It's just a real estate listings site, but every listing accepts payment in bitcoin.

If you click on "inventory" and scroll down, there are some really nice Florida homes listed for several million dollars...

I think a major issue with this right now is most people would be converting fiat in to BTC for such a large purchase and without a way to convert fiat to BTC for low commission at a fair market rate they will be better off just paying in FIAT and paying the fees to their bank etc. In an ideal world we will one day be in a situation where btc is that much cheaper to use that there are even advisors and such who recommend it.
238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It’s Now Twitter Aiming to Prohibit Cryptocurrency Ads on: March 20, 2018, 05:34:21 PM
Allow them to do so, twitter is a drop in the ocean compared to facebook and google. It will make little to no difference and I'm also fairly sure the decision will be reversed in a few years time once the ICO space is much better regulated.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what do you think about bitcoin at the moment? on: March 20, 2018, 05:31:47 PM
Bitcoin is exactly the same as when it was valued at $20,000 just a few months ago, in fact arguably better given the adoption of segwit. For that reason I have little worries about the price and am confident we will return towards an ATH in due course, it might take all year but those of us who are faithful will be rewarded for our patience.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking at posts from 2010 compared to now on: March 18, 2018, 09:10:59 PM

You're right about that, it's an entirely different community now because of the money that is there to be made, most of the guys who were here for the tech are probably relaxing on a beach somewhere by now. You can go to certain sections of the forum and find lots of good threads to discuss things, serious/technical discussion would be a good start.

Not necessarily. A lot of these people cashed out when bitcoin hit $1-100. Then even more at $1000. It's the ones that hodled and timed it right selling at the all time high that are probably on the beaches. I think the majority of posters now just dump their coins for cash as soon as they get it because for a lot of them it's seemingly paying their bills.

Yep but they didn't need to be in from beginning to end to still be on the beaches somewhere. If they invested only around 10k then that would mean that each 100x we would have a whole new bunch of millionaires and then they could sell to the next lot of hopefuls. That means we've already had 3+ lots of millionaires using that logic.
