Yes! This is really what we want! No centralised exchange can be trusted.

@mikelv
Thank you. So this is just like sending ETH to a normal exchange. The only difference is Waves exchange works in decentralised manner. The terminology they used in the article really confused me. I thought Waves ETH tokens are somehow different from real ETH.
Thanks again.

Hello all, I'm new to this coin and I am really interested in this. I went through the post about "Waves launches Ether gateway". One thing I understood from it is that Waves has built-in decentralised exchange and we can now use ETH pairs to buy/sell other coins with it. However I did not understand this part: users will send ETH to the given address within the client and will receive a Waves token in return. These tokens will be backed 1:1 with Ether, and can be withdrawn and exchanged for ETH at any time.
Meanwhile, whilst they remain within the Waves blockchain ecosystem, the Waves ETH tokens can be stored securely and transferred with the speed and low cost of the Waves network. The way I understand that is: If I send 400 ETH to this gateway, I will receive 400 Waves. But I can always exchange them back for 400 ETH. Is that right? If that's right, in what scenario someone would want to do that? If you send 400 ETH to the gateway, you receive 400 ETH on the wavesplatform. It's not the real ETH, but the ETH equivalent on the wavesplatform. Thanks for responding. So my "real" ETH are still with me and I get additional "dummy" ETH on waves platform. So what value do these dummy ETH have? What can I do with them on the platform?

I believe it should be valid. Because the spreadsheet is read-only and only campaign manager can edit the details, so it can be counted as reliable source. And I can see the addresses are linked to user profiles. This way if you can sign from that address, it will prove your ownership of the account.
|
|
|
I do not understand: what is the change of address? Also I do not understand if the mail mentioned is the one we have to write to recover the accounts If you ever posted any crypto address (BTC address, ETH address etc) on this forum before your account got hacked, you can sign a message (any message, such as: "my account got hacked and I would like to recover it") using that address. Since only the person who owns that address can sign a message from it (because it requires the private key to the address), this proves that you are the original owner of the account.

Are there any estimations out there what % of coin holders, hold the majority of coins, I'm mainly interested in top 20?
Forward your question to NSA, nobody here can answer this. I believe this is what he is looking for. Luckily I didn't have to track down anyone form the NSA. https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.htmlthat is good starting point. any idea if some of those addresses belong to some exchanges? Probably not.you wont see any exchanges in the top 100 because they most likely keep their earnings and account balances in multiple addresses. On the off chance they get hacked and someone tries to steal all the coins, you'd be basically handing them a bag with everything you own if everything was on one address. Hmm... that makes sense. I now see that #2 address has been marked to be Bitfinex cold wallet. I suspect some others would belong to other exchanges as well. If they're splitting their balance in multiple cold wallets, then also the holdings of those wallets must be huge considering how many coins these exchanges have.

Keeping ypur coin ? Offline and online wallets? Why bothering yourself for such a thing, just do a simple thing.convert all of your bitcoin into altcoin(potential altcoin of course not a shitty one) and then hold it. You will lose it ? Nah no,because iam holding an altcoin not a bitcoin.
What happen if segwit fail? So what? Worst case bitcoin price will only drop how about altcoin ? And in the near future we can see another 'segwit' or whatever they called it.
So what happen if it's successfull ? Considering yourself investing in longrun.
Nothing to lose right ? So simple
But in that case if there is a split, you will not have coins on both chains right? You can sell your alt coin for any one BTC coin , not both chains

You should really change the subjecet to something which is more communicative. By reading the title it looks like you're acusing myetherwallet to be a scam service. While in fact what you're trying to say is that there is a scam going on on Slack which can resukt in loss of funds.
Something more like: "Phishing Attack on Slack Targets MyEtherWallet Users to Steal Their Funds"

The market is falling is it the affect of the upcoming segwit? Or just a normal move in the market in which is the up and down of the price?? Is it ok to hold bitcoins in the exchanger? Can you help me???
segwit may be the main reason for this price movement,It is not safe to keep your coins on an exchange on 1st Aug (or even a few days after that). See this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2017191.0

I have read very bad eviews for Polonix recently. Do we have any more decentralised exchanges like ethrdelta? I visited ethrdelta today but they only offer ETH pairs. No BTC pairs?
|
|
|
I check in etherdelta, fuck token prices continue to rise. Currently fuck tokens if seen in coinmarketcap, token fuck is only available in etherdelta. What if one day the token fuck is available in livecoin, maybe the price could double from now
Livecoin? We should aim for Cryptopia then Bittrex. Bittrex, that was f*ckin awesome dude, All the people who underestimated this F*ckin token will regret it. This is really great. But when will it happen? 1 month or 2 months ahead? I will buy F*ck before its price goes f*ckin high I believe the good entry point would b right now when it is still on ethrdelta and not on any big exchanges

Hahaha.. good concept. I read the devs are working on a tipping bot? that's very cool. Wouldn't it be nice to give a FUCk to good posts on Reddit / twitter etc?
once the bot is ready and the token gets on few more exchanges it would be huge
I'm in!

I don't own much BTC myself but it would be interesting to see how it all unfolds on and after 1st Aug

|

I haven't read the entire article, but the photos show a lot of mining rigs. What kind of machines are they? And approx. how many BTC they might be mining each day?
|
|
|
Has anyone tried their decentralized exchange?
