I read somewhere that WCT are airdropped to Waves holders every month. I have some Waves in my local wallet. Do I need to do anything special to be part of airdrop or I'll receive WCT automatically?

Hello all, I'm new to this coin and I am really interested in this. I went through the post about "Waves launches Ether gateway". One thing I understood from it is that Waves has built-in decentralised exchange and we can now use ETH pairs to buy/sell other coins with it. However I did not understand this part: users will send ETH to the given address within the client and will receive a Waves token in return. These tokens will be backed 1:1 with Ether, and can be withdrawn and exchanged for ETH at any time.
Meanwhile, whilst they remain within the Waves blockchain ecosystem, the Waves ETH tokens can be stored securely and transferred with the speed and low cost of the Waves network. The way I understand that is: If I send 400 ETH to this gateway, I will receive 400 Waves. But I can always exchange them back for 400 ETH. Is that right? If that's right, in what scenario someone would want to do that?

It's not the real ETH, but the ETH equivalent on the wavesplatform.

So what value do these dummy ETH have? What can I do with them on the platform?

So what value do these dummy ETH have? What can I do with them on the platform? No, you don't own the real ETH any longer, otherwise you could double your ETH that way . The value is determined by supply and demand on DEX. So the value is, what someone is willing to pay for your WAVES-ETH. It will be more or less the same value they would have on other exchanges. You can trade with them on DEX, e.g. buy WAVES or BTC.

@mikelv
Thank you. So this is just like sending ETH to a normal exchange. The only difference is Waves exchange works in decentralised manner. The terminology they used in the article really confused me. I thought Waves ETH tokens are somehow different from real ETH.
Thanks again.

Yes! This is really what we want! No centralised exchange can be trusted.

Whales are trying to block rising. They didn't ready for that news. Don't wait and go buy waves before the whales. They will lose too much waves hahaha

you need 0.001 waves in addition to the bitcoin fees to pay for the gateway. It's maybe that
