Hello everyone,
I'm currently buying components for my next computer and I was wondering if mining would allow me to amortize my computer?
I know it's unrealistic to make profit but if I could make $100 or $200 a year it would already be that.
Electricity where I live is about 0.15€/kWh and I plan to buy this :
- Zotac GTX1050TI-4GO (but if it worth it mining-wise I could change it for GTX1060 as I know it's better) - EVGA G2 650W - Z370 or H370 mother board - i5-8600k (maybe I will change it for i3 or i5 non-K) - 8 or 16GB DDR4
So I know this is not a good configuration for mining but I'd like to know if mining would be profitable (i.e. will I spend more money on electricity than I earn? And is mining going to alter significantly my computer?).
Thank you for your help!
PS: once again I don't aim to make profit, I just wonder if I could pay off some of the money I spent on my computer. PPS: If you think it's possible but with another configuration I'm open to suggestions (e.g. by adding 3 graphic cards).
There are several calculators so you can easily calculate your gains and your breakeven. Have a look for yourself ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) e.g here: - https://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/ethereum-mining-calculator- https://crypt0.zone/calculatorAs I said, there are a lot of sites where you can check it. A good rule of thumb is that if you don't have a dedicated mining rig (not necessarily an ASIC) you won't break even, at least not in a reasonable time.

I'd suggest you just try it. It's not a waste of time if you learned something while doing it (just my opinion). It's always best to experience something by yourself instead of asking others. Just be cautious, crypto is full of scam and malicious sites.

You made yourself a lot of work here, granted, but you are aware that there is a MetaMask video on their main site at https://metamask.io/ that explains everything you did including some extra functions? ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) So why don't you simply swap the images for the video and give some additional info that isn't in the video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gf_kRE4MJU

Hello. One more question. We are discussing the future of the platform, so the question is just the security settings. How much security will be provided? On some exchanges, for example Huobi, there are 3 levels of security. When withdrawing crypto currency, this is very important. For example: 1) confirmation by e-mail, 2) confirmation by phone number sms-message, 3) 2FA confirmation. All these functions can be turned on at once or selectively. What will be provided on the Stex platform in the final version of the terminal?
I'd say that there is not really a "final" version of a product that is constantly developed. Most of the exchanges also continuously enhance their security features and didn't start off with them ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) E.g. KuCoin added the security questions and the "safe word". So it's more or less not a question of what there will be in the end but what we, the community, like to see first.

Simply switch the cards and check if the last one works alone (and together with others). Did you check all cables? If you have that many cards available, you can quite easily rule out some of the causes that might be responsible

Even better, don't just give us a link, promote your page with screenshots and a description and/or some example articles. Many members are cautious when someone posts external links - which is good since there are many scammy and malicious sites out there.

I am wondering though is it too late to get into this ICO or is it a good time to join in. I do like utility tokens but I also like the tokens that give out some monthly dividend or weekly gift for holding it. I am more of a hodler than a short term trader but am learning to trade as well. I have invested in other exchange tokens but so far they are running at a loss for me, so am always cautious when investing in exchange coins. I want to try this out though.
I'd say that this project is in the beginning stages. There wasn't any major media coverage nor marketing done. So decide for yourself whether you think it's an opportunity or not. One of the advantages with STeX is their successful ICO in Q3/2017. The project is already funded. Everything that comes now can go straight to the liquidity pool. And as soon as the training starts for real, we're good to go. As mone isn't the issue, if the team can manage the HR, Support and Marketing part, this can get really big.

Hello. Tell me, will the KYC registration be required? Or there may be 2 options: up to 2BTC without KYC, and all that is over this amount, then in compulsory registration. If there is a registration, how many levels? For example, on the Binance exchange there are several levels of trading volumes. Have you already decided whether you will have the same levels? For example: up to 2 BTC - simple registration. Up to 20 BTC passing KYC, more than 100 BTC -requested in the support department for clarification. This is very important to know, especially for customers with large investments.
As of now, there is no KYC required. But ultimately no one can say how things will progress. If an exchange wants to stay compliant with the regulations of many countries it is well possible that there will be a KYC procedure in place sooner or later. But with the decentralized approach we have a good chance to avoid it ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Why didn't you post the image here or rather posted the link to the infographic and let some higher ranking member repost it? Linking to resp. visiting external websites always bears a risk and people tend to be cautious with links (which is good!). So if you want people to see you work, post it here, describe what you did and what your goal is. Just linking... well, it won't do.

Hello, I have deeponion wallet on windows. I have backed it up and it creates a .dat file. But I want to store the private keys of my wallet somewhere to make it save. I don't know how to access my wallet private keys and save them somewhere. Can someone from Deeponion Dev team help?
Hi, I made a really detailed guide "DeepOnion - Wallet-Backup with KeePass 2" https://steemit.com/deeponoin/@mithrim/deeponion-wallet-backup-with-keepass-2It describes step by step on how you do it using KeePass 2 to backup everything securely.

I'm new to bounties and going to hard grind in 30+ or even more. Want to know if I need to promote a lot of FB/twitter accounts or 1 of each is enough?
The chance of you getting suspended is relatively high if you promote 30+ projects (that maybe require at least 1 post/repost per day). On top of that, consider the risk you're taking if you only use 1 account. Let's assume you get temporarily suspended or even banned with all bounties halfway through. What then? The links to prove your activity aren't valid any longer, you can't use your account (for a time) so you technically need to register with a new account which could be viewed as an attempt to cheat (multiple accounts). But be honest, what project profits from any spamming bounty hunter account. So you maybe should reconsider if that's the right way of doing it. If everybody only spams, the project will suffer. Look up Free-rider problem: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-rider_problem it's meant for economics and public goods but you can easily adapt it to this situation ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Question, my rank is Newbie. can i Participate to the bounty ?
Please be a bit more specific when you ask a question. It's not only more polite as you are the one that wants something from others, it's also more likely that you'll receive the answer you are looking for. In this particular example, it would've helped if you had specified the bounty you are referring to and - in addition - quote the part of the bounty terms/rules that you think aren't clear enough after you've read them.

Thanks Ivan for listening to our requests, cheers!
That's one of the many things I like about this project. The team listens to the community and as the community isn't that big so far, decent dialogues are still possible in the chat. It's a huge plus for people who like to be active + the project has a huge potential.

Has anyone received extra A2A for Bounty? I cant figure out how I got extra A2A. not complaining but STeX Team hasnt said anything on this Bounty or the airdrop in the Telegram A2A group. anyone confirm?
As far as I know, there are no special campaigns active like signature, twitter, facebook or any other social media campaigns. The team announced the beginning of social media campaigns a while ago but unfortunately, so far nothing started. They asked in the bounty telegram group whether people are interested in a signature campaign and that any interested participant should contact them. But I don't know the terms of the campaign. Maybe you could ask directly in the bounty group ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Thanks! Very much appreciated. Didn't know about the switch. Was there a specific reason? No problem. It can be a bit of work to follow all projects that closely. That's why there are community threads or channels like this one ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) There were some changes in the old contract, projects evolve. 0xae5652ea226bfae00b8d542e58231362af836fda is the old contract address for Pre-Sale and the old voting

It's the same as with everything else (in crypto), it evolves. The "early" airdrops were definitely not a waste of time and/or money and are now worth thousands of dollars. But also airdrops in mid/late 2017 could have made you a bunch of money with near to nothing required of you. If it's too much of you to ask to either raise your hand and/or to create a twitter and facebook account in exchange for hundreds of dollars, then, well, airdrops really aren't the right thing for you. But if you only made ~$20 per drop, then I'd say that you chose the wrong airdrops ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) The requirement of KYC is a relatively new practice and I wouldn't do it, ever. Same is with bounty campaigns that require it. Only over my cold dead body.

Thanks for making people aware that they should use encryption. Would've been nice if you had also given a reason for why you chose VeraCrypt? Did you test different tools? I use BitLocker so far, maybe I give VeraCrypt a try.

Why would you even try to stop them in the first place? It's a waste of time if you do. Fraud and duplicity are as old as mankind itself. Better try to make people aware and educate them. Make them aware and help them that way. Punishing those who scam people is a must, sure (if you can), but we will never be able to stop all of them. It's much more dangerous to get lulled into a false sense of security. Always be vigilant.
