I was even told directly over the phone that my status as a customer was less important compared to those who ordered in June/July, because I didn't help them fund the initial costs. What kind of a company says that to a customer  Huh
Wow! What a despicable attitude to customers! That really is disgraceful.

But guys (i don't know how to say in english but I try, maybe someone can undestand it) look into yourself and a bit use your brain. What he got on the phone is the raw truth.

Back in june we paid a lot of money in 7 days for an unkown company. And the whole story now is only history....

This is true, we took a lot of risk on these guys and those of us who got in early + got our units delivered are doing OK with the recent upswing on the exchange rate.

However, it's still concerning a CSR would say this to a customer.  Not a good attitude to have when you're dealing with machines at this price point.

HOLY MOTHER! The 0.98.1 firmware is the boss! Good job KnC for pushing the units faster and faster!

My unit is going TO DA MOON! ┗(°0°)┛

+1 My Jupiter was running like complete shit since 0.97.  The latest seems to be better.

I hope you guys bury these pricks.  They're lining their own pockets by screwing every single one of their customers' chances of ROI, and they will also screw the rest of us already trying to break even on ASIC gear when they finally do ship.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 28, 2013, 06:04:22 PM

Indeed.  Glad I stayed away from that stuff.  Why can't they just get Kano to tweak CGminer for the hardware?
225  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~99Th] Semi-private mining pool on: October 28, 2013, 02:25:17 PM
Pool Update

Invitations have been removed and anyone who knows the URL of the pool can now sign up.

I will be setting up a new private domain for all pool members registered before today and it will be displayed on your workers page. This is to protect those who have stuck with the pool though our beta period.

The servers should be ready later this week.

Righteous!

The biggest annoyance is hosting. We got customers that paid mid August getting their product shipped while those who paid in mid July for Hosting aren't getting squat yet. WHAT'S WRONG WITH HOSTING! Day 1 & 2 hosting customers are fine, but everyone else - what are they doing - mining with them?

Yeah this really sucks for the guys that bought into the hosting plans they offered.  They should have just worried about hosting their own shit and shipped boxes to all customers.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 21, 2013, 03:49:48 PM
Just an update for everyone who doesn't couldn't get all their asics up and running.

I ordered 3 jupiters from KNCminer and they arrived last friday.  And my cowoker ordered 1 jupiter.

These are great products once you get them up and running, but boy was it a painful experience.
The issues I had with them are below.

1.  The fans on the heat sink falls off easily.  When You hear things rattling in the box, you have to open them up and put the fans on the heat sinks properly.  And they use torx screw drivers so that was a pain in the ass, luckily I had a torx set around the house.  I had to open all 3 jupiter boxes to put the fans back on at least 1 of the heat sinks on each of the units.

I had only 1 unit with all 4 asic boards running properly the others did not report any status on the status page.  After resetting the fans, I took a closer inspection.

2.  On 1 of the asic boards, the serial cable (not the power cable) CRUSHED one of the pins on the asic board.  I took the unit off line and straightened the pin on the board and then the ASIC came on.  I was pretty happy about taht.

3. Another asic board on another unit, the asic board's serial cable was defective or had some impedance issue.  I swapped the 2 cables (the ones that were the same length) and brought that asic online.  At this point all my asics were working properly.

However One of my coworkers who purchased an jupiter as well couldn't get his controller board to power on.  The asics were all powered though since he saw the fans were spinning.

4.  My coworker debugged on the on board pins and realized that there was no power going in to the controller.  So he took apart his unit and looked at the soldering on the power connector and realized it was faulty.  He touched up on the Power connector solder and the controller now came online.  the man spent a good 6 hours on this.

These were some of the issues that came up.  I hope this helps some of the people having similar problems.

Wow, that's unfortunate and I hope mine do not arrive in that condition.

Couple of things.

Did you contact KnCMiner with all of the above information?

Did your coworker just void his warranty by soldering the board?  Huh

I got sick of debugging after a while and was considering an RMA, then I decided to look at the hardware instead of the software.  And that's how I ended up fixing them.

My first email I told them about my problem and what I have already tried to fix, and they gave me some canned response about how to enable the cores, which I clearly told them I've tried it already.  So definatly no help.  After I fixed it I did tell them about how I fixed it.

My co worker likely did void his warranty but I doubt they'd know by looking at the board itself so I don't think there is nothing stopping him from sending the damn thing in if it was to ever break.

This sucks.  Completely unacceptable on a >$7k USD device.
228  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~95Th] Semi-private mining pool on: October 19, 2013, 01:37:06 AM

Thanks!  It is now up and running.  It is very quiet and not much heat.  The packaging was terrible and one of the fans fell off in shipping.  But the machine is pretty.  I wish the math made sense to buy another one but at 1BTC per day at this difficulty it makes no sense to spend 31BTC on another one of these machines.  By the time I got it at the end of Nov. I think it would be lucky to make .5 BTC a day.

Very true.  Just glad I got mine and it has a chance of reaching ROI, even if that chance is remote.
229  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: October 18, 2013, 07:21:13 PM
hence higher costs and lower quality for competitors.

Yeah, or I just buy the Seasonic Platinum 1000w and attach it to my Jupiter when it arrived 2 weeks ago.
230  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~95Th] Semi-private mining pool on: October 15, 2013, 06:31:35 PM
Argh.. worst luck ever these 24h.. incredible

Try again.

Maybe you should take a look at block #39 to see 06d 12h 58m 28s of no blocks and then think what it was like pushing though that one....

There were more than a few nights of drinking and reviewing stratum / bitcoin servers to make sure nothing was broken.

Shocked Yikes!  That must have been brutal.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 14, 2013, 06:37:43 PM
As you called me out on the other thread Bitcoinorama, I'll answer here so everyone can see.

Let's start here:
Your posting history doesn't even focus on KnC until late Sept, and since then you have been nothing but abusive, so what's your real agenda.

And you joined in April and from June onwards, you been kissing KNC's ring non-stop, as hard and fast as you can.

So let's talk agenda's.

You always say "I'm straight down the line, I never told anyone to buy KNC".

The main thing people need to make the decision to buy is confidence.

You gave confidence, masses of it, posting 20 - 30 times a day to comfort people, to reassure, to say how smart and capable KNC were. You are responsible for a massive amount of KNC sales and you are disingenuous to deny it. You said before you worked in marketing etc - you know all this.

My agenda? I am a customer and I expect much better service than I have recieved from KNC. Many of my posts are related to getting KNC to give updates to their customers. And anger when they don't. They are unprofessional. You are unprofessional.

Then you come along after 5 or so days of radio silence and spout some nonsense, which seems to appease some. I guess you give them confidence (see above). But frankly, for someone who claims to be an engineer, you don't really seem to know much about it.

Here's a funny picture to explain:

Did you never write a report at univeristy? You generally come out with only "hypothesis" or "result". Like the power supply issue. People who do that tend to be know, in science and engineering, as charlatans.

Your intention all along here was to drive sales, to build up KNC and to work there. Purely selfish and self serving. And you masquerade as some kind of great guy, here to help everyone. And you masquerade like you are still deliberating on taking a job with KNC. What bullshit. (P.S. How's the apartment hunting in Stockholm going)

And now everyone is getting fucked by KNC lying about when they will deliver, you are trying to discredit me? Haha.

My agenda all along has been to get better service. I'm doing it for myself, but I'm doing it for everyone else on here too because I'm not the only one who's fed up of being treated like a schmuck by KNC.

We should be treated with the same respect as shareholders, as we are the angel investors who created and paid for KNC. And how are KNC paying us back?

- No refunds, even though they said there would be up until shipping. So I should be able to get a refund today, because my shit still says "Paid".
- Treating us like shit. Ignoring us. Sending us cut and paste replies, treating us like assholes. We have paid thousands of dollars each, this shit is unacceptable.
- Breaking promises. Plenty of them. Even today KNC are sending BS emails saying they will ship by 15th. And why the fuck can't they tell us how many units a day they are producing, so we know how long we have to wait? Because we are fucking schmucks??

I could go on.

As I said in the other thread, I am a customer. I have no ties to any other bitcoin or bitcoin related company. I am being 100% straight up and honest.

Summary:
You are a sneaky, self serving prick who has manipulated people into buying into KNC, who pretends he hasn't. I'm happy to take the time to expose that.
I'm a bit of a dick, but I'm entitled to better service from KNC and so it everyone else who gave KNC the money to exist.

Lot's of guys who are waiting and waiting don't have the money to lose. KNC can easily afford to dish out a few bitcoin compensation, to show some goodwill and respect to their customers.

But it seems they prefer to say "Go fuck yourself, read the t&c's". That's nice. Profit margain after profit margin after profit margin. I hope you are happy to work for a company like that.

Agreed on all counts.  They better turn this shit around or they can forget gen 2.

The price had better explode.  Those of us with Jupiters need to climb out of a $7000 hole.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 14, 2013, 06:26:49 AM
KNC host portal just shitted itself since 15mins ago lol. PHP out of memory / errors and shit.

I'm guessing because of Eligius getting ddos'd or having server issues, everyone loggin in at once and trying to change pool.

So goodluck to anyone who wants to login or change pools Tongue

That blows.  Glad I decided to host mine myself instead of with them.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 11, 2013, 05:06:44 PM
Probably a stupid question:
Is anyone's Jupiter actually working reliably at 450+GH/s?

Yes mine, stable at 500 Gh/s @ BTCguild. 0.94 firmware.

Mine too stable around 450 but they better f'n sort the firmware, before 0.94 mine was running 100GH/s faster.

I'm sorry guys & gals, but this time Xallia & Crumbs are right.

When I ordered, It was for September DELIVERY, not September shipping.

Call it what you will... Fact is...   Come Monday... If the miners are not delivered... The miners are late.

Yeah, this sucks.
