Why do you think it cost too much? you don't have to buy a whole ethereum if you want to invest as you can buy it according to your money. If you want to buy something that is similar to ethereum then you should look into neo, cardano, waves, nem or eos. The first two is really similar to ethereum but cardano platform is not out yet so you have to wait longer, that also mean the potential is still bigger compared to now though. |

I almost got scammed once when I was trying to join some ico, their server was overload because there's a lot of people that want to get into that project, and there's this scammer on telegram that use similar username as the admin dm me and send the contract address alongside with other words like tos that made it more convincing. Luckily I check the address on etherscan and saw there's only a little transaction there and become suspicious.

I definitely agree that the most recent icos took way more money than they required to run the project and I always avoid that kind of project because it's hard to lift the marketcap of the project if they start at a high marketcap already, most of these projects will have its price decrease once hit exchange. I prefer projects that collect a reasonable amount of money instead, the devs can be rich too if the coin price increase because of their effort.

You can hold for a long time, you can even leave it there for more than 5 years but the value is tied with the success of the project. If the project is great and they keep growing in one or two years then of course the value of the token that you hold will increase but if the project fail and stop midway, your token will become useless that's why it's very important to monitor your investment, so you know what's the future of the project is gonna be. |

If you are looking for a pure currency coin like bitcoin used to be then nano is the best choice for that kind of coin. It has the best feature to be a digital currency and the team behind it also great, it's just they have a problem with exchange hack a few months (not the dev fault though). If you are looking for something else then ethereum or other top 50 coin can be a good choice.

For now there's only neo, nem and maybe waves (i don't follow it anymore so i don't know if their smart contract already released or not). Neo is the most similar to ethereum as they already have a few icos running on their chain. If you don't mind waiting then there's ada and eos which is more interesting than ethereum but they need a lot of time until ready.

Hi all,
I am a relative newbie but have remained pretty calm during the difficult last week or so. The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.

That crash was definitely not normal as there's a lot of bad news about crypto at that time and suddenly they disappeared and a lot of good news started pooping out. I agree that everyone should set stop loss at their starting price so if there's crash like that one then you don't lose a lot. I feel bad about the one that bought on the peak but they are mostly greedy and only want to get rich fast. |

From your words I guess you are new to trading and investing? If yes then you should read Investopedia and several books for a basic investing and economic first so you won't mad when you got scammed and your investment fail. After that you can learn how blockchain works, how to send eth so you won't eth from your exchange wallet to the ico contract address. For the trading part, it takes more time as there's more to learn, technical analysis is a must if you want to trade otherwise what you do are not different than gambling. You can check tradingview if you want to compare your analysis to other people. |

ETH took about 5 year to reach their current status, they already managed to prove that they are legit, they faced problems a lot of time like the dao hack, network congestion etc but they managed to solve it. On the other hand ada is relatively new (less than 1 year if i'm not wrong) and they don't have their platform ready so it's definitely wrong to think that they will be even as eth at the end of the year.

Of course we still need government and bank, it's not like everyone has access to blockchain and using blockchain will make the world better immediately. Government although most of them are corrupt, can force the law to make public submit to them, if there's no government then there will be chaos, this isn't as simple as that. It's the same as bank, a lot of people right now use bank, it will take a lot of time to move to blockchain and new system and the switching cost will be very expensive.

Neo is a solid project and their platform already running with a few icos on it but they don't have new projects lately or is it just me not following news. Compared to it ada price movement is definitely better lately, that means people are starting to get into ada and maybe it will become the next ethereum once they have the platform running. Neo is still worth investing but I think there's a lot of better options out there.

There are so many coins, but many of them just a copy of anothers. Why they waste their time for nothing?  Because they have different vision compared to other dev so that's why they create their own coin. Almost all coins in crypto is a fork from older one so it's not a rare case but they will be different once the development start because each dev has his way of doing things. People also want to be rich and they want to do it by creating a project and hope later it will be famous thus he can sell his stash for a lot of money. |

Of course you have to prepare for the worst that's why a lot of people say invest what you can afford to lose, because at worst you'll lose all your money, ico is a risky thing to do because they are not regulated so there's no investor protection. People have to understand how smartcontract works before invest in ico because I have seen a lot of people sending their eth from exchange wallet, that's just a basic mistake but the risk is very high.

Airdrop as a promotion for ico? i don't think that's a good idea because most of the one that join airdrop only search for free tokens and won't invest at the ico, the team also has to manage the airdrop and that's not an easy task to do, not to mention that the one that joined the airdrop can attack the project if there's some delay or they don't get the token. It's not worth ruining the project image for that, better to search another way to attract possible investors. |

People may not know about cryptocurrency and blockchain but they know about bitcoin because that's all the media has been reporting. Bitcoin is useless as a currency but it still has the function as a digital asset, similar as gold and the fact that the number is fixed makes it even better. It's a simple supply and demand theory, with more demand of course the price will increase.

Many bounty campaign give token..often token bounty has not been paid .. you already exist in the market .. after the price paid it down drastically ... if we hold the token .. later will be able to rise or even added down the price of token bounty
Of course I will hold it because most of the time the price will decrease a lot from the dumpers. So after a few months the price will increase again even higher because the project surely have a lot of development that can drive the price further higher. Also if the project is good then the future of the project is great so it's a great decision If you want to hold a few more months to earn more profit. |

dari yang telah saya ikuti signature campaignya rata2 membayar dengan token project itu sendiri, walaupun ada manager bounty yang membayar menggunakan Bitcoin.
Kalau memang membayar dengan bitcoin biasanya dikasi tau dari awal contohnya proyek proyek yang dipegang oleh Yahoo atau lauda itu rata'' membayar pake bitcoin. Bounty nya sendiri biasanya di tempat yang berbeda, yang bayar pake bitcoin di service sedangkan yang pake token di bounties altcoin section. |

secara nyata pergerakan turun bitcoin mempengaruhi juga pada alternatif coin.
namun ketika bitcoin bergerak naik mengembalikan ke posisi semula,alternatif coin cenderung tidak bisa membalikan posisi mereka,sebagai contoh alternatif coin doge,xlm,nxt,bts.
awal-awal mereka memiliki nilai bagus terhadap bitcoin,sekarang coin tersebut sangat kesulitan untuk bergerak naik lebih jauh ke posisi awal mereka.bahkan doge bisa menjadi hilang nilainya.
mungkinkah ada alternatif coin yang bisa melawan bitcoin nantinya?
jadi menurut saya pula investasi coin terbaik adalah ada pada bitcoin untuk saat ini.
dan untuk trader,memainkan alternatif coin yang baik adalah short term..
Sebenernya investasi altcoin pun sangat baik tapi harus di monitor terus value terhadap bitcoinnya, jangan cuman di lihat nilai usdnya doang karena nanti nilai usd tetep tapi nilai bitcoin nya turun dan kalo udah begitu lebih baik ga usah dibeliin alts, dibiarin dibitcoin aja. Kalau value ke bitcoin nya juga naik, nanti kalau harga bitcoin beranjak naik maka untung yang kita dapat termasuk lumayan. |
