221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on a mobile phone? on: December 17, 2017, 05:57:41 PM
No. Plus this must be the 10737383 thread asking the same question.
As stated above maybe staking works out but thats different from mining - another process.

I would suggest to provide some information about coinomi. I never used it and need to do some research:
- What are the main features
- How high are the fees
- How are private keys managed
- Security settings in general

100-500k installationa is also not bad but they def. need iOS support to reach a broader customer base

I made an additional transfer to the same wallet but this also didn't help. Are there other possibilities to speed this up?
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: December 17, 2017, 09:23:06 AM
Hi guys, have a doubt about a new mining rig.

I have 3x 1060, while the risers didnt come I put two in my actual pc and it run just fine.
But today I get a older pc and when I mine if the two GPU the mouse lags (not a problem since I will not use the pc, but could be a problem depending what causes it) and the first GPU dont obey the 65% power limitation, it is running 80~90%, what not happen in the newer pc.

Could it be the older CPU/Motherboard?

the older CPU is an i3 3220.

Thanks!

Sounds more like a driver , OC setting issue to me. Why would the GPU draw more power if matched with an older CPU? Doesn't really make sense. Only thing that would make sense it the CPU being heavily loaded due to both GPUs.
How do you determine at which PL the GPU is operating?

I ordered a MSI Gaming X 1070 Ti version now - there was a small rebate on them. Can't wait to get it as I only read good stuff about that model so far (my GB Gaming G1 has no outstanding performance whatsoever).

If the price of BWK keeps increasing and sustains a double digit % plus the nethash will sky rocket again and with it the difficulty. I keep my small rig mining it and observe how this develops.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: December 16, 2017, 08:11:06 PM

4th rack is under construction.

I plan to have it done before I go on vacation in a week =)

Is that a warehouse or what? Looks a bit messy gotta clean up your setup once everything is running. Love the idea of having a warehouse for the rigs I would go totally nuts haha
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: December 16, 2017, 05:29:24 PM

How am I doing? Smiley

I assume you are mining ETH? No need to run the cards with 100% PL.
Decrease it to 80% and you will see that it has basically no impact on the hashrate. They will consume less and run cooler. You can thank me later.
From 80% PL onwards decrease in 5% steps and observe the hashrate. You will be able to figure out the best performance/consumption setting - usually somehwere below 70% PL with the core clocked around 1500 Mhz.

It's a reasonable coins with masternode and POW, so you can mine or just setup a masternode for rewards.
The masternode return are really high, but cannot really continue such high rewards. I will consider to setup a masternode, the initial coins number are too high.

One thing to keep in mind is that masternode rewards are currently only 20% of the block reward. They will increase monthly to 25%, 33.3%, and then finally 50% at the beginning of month 4.

Is there another coin out there with such a PoW model? Masternodes rewards are high and I get the idea why it was done this way - because setting them up will increase the price as people need to buy coins. But there is also the looming danger of a big dump if some people want to abandon their masternodes.

I can't really pinpoint other coins with changing MN reward (is this what you wanted to know?) structule, although I'm sure there are a few. People usually abandon masternodes when/if reward becomes close to 0, if we're talking about mid/long term holders. Look at profits Dash masternodes give now, but people don't even think of abandoning them.

Yes, MN reward changes and generally the split between Mining Reward and MN reward. At one point it might not be that relevant for the miners as the reward per block decreased too much.
For sure it will be interesting to see how this evolves Smiley

Does someone have a rom for a MSI RX580 ARMOR 8Gb for ETH mining please?

You need to specify at least the memory type. I would suggest to you also looking for a ROM yourself. Google should help you and you will find sth within 2 minutes. Just try one out that seems to be legit and run some tests with it.

I would also vote for the H81 BTC R2.0.
It is rocksolid - setting it up was easy and the miner runs for weeks without any issues. It's also the cheapest MB in my collection but it has no M2 Slot and also the old CPU socket but its not that relevant for mining only.

234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: December 15, 2017, 07:02:51 PM
Hello everyone,

I am totally newbie for all of  this. I have the Sapphire RX580 Nitro + Special Edition 8Gb SAMSUNG memory cards. I have the Win10 OS, I have put the BIOS plug on the card in position for flashing (also saved the original ROM), installed Win10-64Bit-Crimson-ReLive-Beta-Blockchain-Vorkloads-Aug23 drivers, used the atikmdag-patcher and in the MSI Afterburner set: CoreVoltage -162, LImit -20 Power, Core Clock 1152, Memories Clock 2250 and with these settings I get only 27.4Mh / s per card (now I have three cards).

Anyway, I tried to flash bios with some suggested straps, like putting this: 777000000000000022AA1C00B56A6D46C0551017BE8E060C006AE6000C081420EA8900AB0300000 01B162C31C0313F17
to 2: 1750 2: 2000 and 2: 2500 - but there is no change in Mh /s. Which  ever I have tried, it's always 27.4Mh /s ! (of course, there were some fallss in the attempts to use different drivers, not using afterburner ... and all the other things you can imagine someone new would try to do)

I've read that my cards should have at least 30Mh / s. Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance!

The core and memory settings are also confirmed like that in GPU-Z? Seems hard to believe that no matter which timings you use it also yields the same hashrate.
What is the PSU you are using? Do you hace any stability issues?

A lot of altcoin is moon right now. Hope BTCZ will too.
It just hasn’t the same attention as other altcoins. Recently all the known and well established altcoins increased a lot in value. Going now for the hidden not that well known gems is probably a good idea Smiley
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are 1070 TI's the next best GPU for mining? 4.7 sols per watt on: December 14, 2017, 09:53:52 PM
Anyone managed to take the settings further with even better results / esp on linux?

Probably card dependent, and seems to at least in part be mining software dependent.

It DOES look like the best efficiency point on EBWF is at 104 watts not 106, but it's so close it could be an artifact of measurement limits.

I tried pushing core and memory harder on one of my EVGA SC cards, but stability went bad very quickly above the +200 core and +700 memory settings (which was an unreported part of my original testing).
That however might vary with the specific card and probably with the model of GPU.

I'm not waiting, as I'm not convinced that the Volta versions of the 10xx series cards will be a LOT more efficient.
10% probably, 20% maybe, 30% I'd bet against - we're still on the same process node, just "process improvements" and perhaps some additional minor optimisations to the designs are all we're likely to see - think of "RX 4xx vs RX 5xx" level changes being the most likely.

Hint - "12nm" isn't a new node, it's enhancements to a current 16nm node process with a "new name" as strictly an ADVERTISING point.

Samsung does seem to have some VERY small quantity of production happening on 10nm - but strictly for low-power devices like their smartphones at this point, and they're eating ALL of the output so far.
Intel is supposed to FINALLY be shipping their first 10nm products next year - but the date keeps slipping.....

Manufacturing efficiency for both is probably going to be VERY poor on anything they manage to ship at 10nm next year - it takes TIME to dial a new process in, and it seems to take longer every time a legitimate "shrink" happens TO get the new process dialed in.

To be honest I wouldn’t be sad if the Volta cards dont bring a huge jump in performance and efficiency as this would mean that the 10xx series remains relvant for another 2 years. Nobody with 15-20 cards plus will replace all of them with the new generation right away  as it would be super pricy.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: December 14, 2017, 09:48:56 PM
300 sol on equihash Palit Jetstream 1060 3 GB
no powerlimit, core +125
Seems legit, i got the same on a Gigabyte. I normally dont run the cards at full power to increase the efficiency and reduce the power costs as electricity is not that cheap around here.

ok, so it looks like I might have sgminer going now.  I needed "gpu-platform" : "0"

So far it is looking about 620-700 per GPU

Last Question: Is there any HTML interface like Claymore has?  I liked being able to see that remotely, but don't see any sort of port options (and my googling is resulting in nothing)

As far as I know there is no such thing.
I also don’t get it why people here ask for the perfect setup and stuff - for me one fun part of the mining is tinkering around and finding the besr settings. But well maybe thats just me.

Someone can show me how to configure SGminer? I can't start.

This guide is awesome, but in the SGminer is confuse for me, I put URL, addres, etc. But when I click on start.bat is reinitiate in a loop.

sgminer has also a readme in the directory and you get example config files. Don’t rewrite from scratch but use what is already there.

Difficulty decreased again bigtime - until the next pump comes around the corner 😂
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ 13 GPU Board on: December 14, 2017, 07:28:10 AM
Are the additional molex only when direct mounting gpu on Board?
Anyone know how much wattage is over these molex?

It is recommended to plug the two molex connectors once you use more than 4 (or 5?) GPUs. I'm not sure about the exact wattage but as I understood it takes away stress from every single riser.
