221  Economy / Economics / Re: France declares war on the cryptocurrencies on: February 09, 2018, 03:31:18 AM
I read on news that

"The French finance minister has called for tough new regulations on cryptocurrencies to stop them being used to dodge tax or finance terrorism and other crimes"
Source ( http://metro.co.uk/2018/01/15/france-declares-war-cryptocurrencies-bitcoin-ethereum-litecoin-ripple-tough-new-stance-lead-ban-7231339/?ito=cbshare)

Is this having any impact on the downtrend nature of the whole Crypto Currency market today?
Are some investors having second thought about crypto and selling them?

Would like to get some idea about this.

Almost every month, new countries have been regulating cryptocurrencies. They are suppressing cryptocurrencies the way they wanted. It has been rocking down the market chart nowadays. If these things go on, it will really greatly affect the crypto world. Coins won't recover and I am afraid, they will dissappear.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Another Coin Take the Crown? on: February 09, 2018, 03:21:08 AM
Bitcoin is the oldest and most valuable cryptocurrency, but a crop of nimble competitors, including Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash, could lure investors away.

I believe another coin will take the crown soon if the price of Bitcoin won't recover by the end of the year. Ethereum's price is taking the lead of all altcoins right now. If this will continue, ethereum may win the race by the end of the school year. Let's just wait and see. Anyways, nobody can predict what will going on.

225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Telegram the new measure of ICO success? on: February 08, 2018, 05:21:55 AM
Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

Article: https://news.bitcoin.com/telegram-followers-the-new-metric-for-cryptocurrency-success/

It is now part of the success of an ICO. The more members in that group means, a lot of people are beleieving and spreading the news about that ICO. These members also commonly are the investors in the ICO. Likewise, the members are also the investigating people behind the ICO is it is scam or not.
226  Economy / Economics / Re: Positive thinking brings positive things. on: February 08, 2018, 05:18:31 AM
Forums are being filled with speculation, almost all topics that appear lead to falling bitcoin prices, whether this will continue, this is the right time to buy, blah blah blah. Come on, the storm must pass, let us focus on the positive topics instead of continuing to discuss this 50% decline. Start talking about the positive news from Singapore deputy, bitcoin that has gone up 20% today and others. Think positive and positive things will come.

Yes! That is perfectly right! Having a positive outlook in everything let you see the positive side of everything too. Let us spread the good news about bitcoin instead of spreading fake news, negative news and other discouraging topics about bitcoin. Let us start being positive about Bitcoin so that we can attract more investors and will make the chart lively!
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: February 08, 2018, 05:09:41 AM
is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? anyhow this money sits in the bank and do nothing for!

Turning all your money into Bitcoin is admirable because you have the courage in taking the risks into Bitcoin. It is not bad after all because the future of Bitcoin is really bright. Though there are many issues now, I believe that the next days will be brighter. Like what you said, rather than putting your money in the bank and just sleep their, why don't you invest in worthwhile things like Bitcoin.

229  Economy / Economics / Re: We need to do something about all the scams on: February 07, 2018, 06:07:08 AM
Hey there,

I am a blockchain developer and most of my work consists in auditing Blockchain projects, criticising their use-case and proposing solutions and guidances.
What really kills me is the amount of scams and useless projects based on economic scarcity, fomo and proof of stupidity (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1ZYGuJXBQE)

The reasons why we have to fight scams are fairly simple:
- Scams attract regulators
- More scams attract more scammers
- People invest blindly but if given the change to understand a project based on a professional analysis I'm sure many will think twice between sending those guys money.
- You know what is worse than exit scams? Shell projects that never get finished or have no traffic because their use case is pure BS.

I propose listing all the ICO scams here that can't correctly justify their use case, presumably scams:

* EQUI https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2888110.0
The guys weren't able to justify the use of their token and don't answer to critics and questions. More importantly they provide a passive return on investment which fails the Howey test (http://consumer.findlaw.com/securities-law/what-is-the-howey-test.html). They use their public image in order to attract suckers. Based on their use of proceeds they reserve 30% in order to develop the platform. 30% of 72 million to develop a react website with a postgres database and link it to infura (i assume they didn't even think about that). Laughable at best.
This should be promoted by all and I am glad to see that there are many people who hate scam. Scams destroy the reputation of cryptocurrency as well as the reputation of the bitcoin users. I am into that we need to fight against scam so that ICOs and the cryptoworld will not vanish. It is better to work with legit than those scam projects.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoin are going down on: February 06, 2018, 03:36:09 AM
Why Altcoins are going down ??

Should I Sell My Altcoins?

coinlisit.com

[/size]

Altcoins are going down because of the effect of Bitcoin's decreasing price. This thing is happening in the market due to the different aspects like facebook and instagram policies on banning cyrptos and ICOs. The market crypto now is being controlled by governments and I think they are doing there best to end up crypto. I would suggest you sell some of your coins and left something. We never know what will happen after this situation.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties aren't dead on: February 05, 2018, 04:13:01 AM
Came across a really good bounty with IoT Chain. For a second I thought bounties were stopping due to regulation.

Find the bounty here: https://medium.com/@IoT_Chain/iot-chains-dag-code-is-now-available-on-github-we-are-giving-away-10-000-itc-to-celebrate-1b2d437fb0d3
Bounties are still alive even here in our forum. Bounties are the good source of popularity of those developing coins. They need the help of the people in the social media and here in the forum to materialize their project coins. Bounties also are good source of free coins and tokens. They are very profitable in to bounty hunters and so as with the developers. Many investors are attracted to bounties because of its ability to make their product or their coins become famous.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we ever live in a cashless society where cryptocurrencies thrive? on: February 05, 2018, 04:10:25 AM
In my opinion cryptocurrencies seem too volatile to be used in the future within a cashless society. For example, only a month ago Bitcoin was well above £12,000 and it now sits at around £7,000.

This does not mean I would not like to see it, I would love to be able to spend Bitcoin on Amazon, there have been rumours surrounding this. What are everyone's thoughts?

We are already in a cashless society where cards and online banking and payment are the new trends in the online shopping and even in our daily transactions. However, using bitcoin as a payment in online transactions would be possible if all those shopping platforms will adopt and make payment options for bitcoin. Nowadays, we are dealing with the cashless society and the existence of cryptocurrencies and sooner, physical money will be less and less to use.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we all please accept.. on: February 05, 2018, 04:05:54 AM
Accept the fact that most of governments will oppose crypto currency. Obviously there are some countries who have decided to embrace the future, but let's face it, most of governments will stand against. Who likes their currency to be weaken? Every time a stupid country opposes bitcoin, there is so much fud and a great price drop.

China bans mining

South Korea will not ban crypto but obviously does not welcome it

India banning crypto

I fully expected this resistance from governments.

Don't be surprised if more countries come out against bitcoin
That's already facts for those countries who are afraid and threatened to the existence of cryptocurrencies because of crypto's ability of financial freedom and unlimited income and investment. This is the new trends now and the future of the digital world. If these governments will not go with the flow, obviously, they will be left behind and sooner will regret of banning or restricting bitcoin and other coins.

235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC's message to ICO's on: February 04, 2018, 04:24:34 AM
We all know regulation is coming. Thought this was good article to see where the sec stands with ICO's.

Article: https://blog.polymath.network/sec-head-offers-simple-and-stern-message-for-icos-83b8e44507a7

What do you guys think?
Well, we cannot blame SEC for issuing such statement because right now,  there are many scam ICOs. Also, SEC is just doing its job to warn people about the risk in investing in ICOs especially those people who are investing a lot. Many ICOs now are just fake coins developers. After taking your money, they'll all gone like a smoke. This is the right time to regulate many ICOs and SEC must also put some requirements to produce successful and legitimate ICOs.
236  Economy / Economics / Re: Ιs the market of cryptocurrencies inevitably going down? on: February 04, 2018, 04:21:05 AM
The market is down, especially disappointing is btc's behavior. The news on btc say sad things like that bitcoin is just a bubble that exploded and everything.. But not only bitcoin is having hard times. Most of top coins are as well. I want to know what the forum members think about all this. Is it really the end of nice and easy money? Will we ever see bitcoin worth $20k again?
I was saving some money in btc and it is quite depressing that a month ago I had about $900 and now every week I receive the payment from a signature campaign and see the sum in USD decreasing...
No one can predict the future of cryptocurrencies but we can make hypothesis based on the things that are going around or happening now. Bitcoin really made a huge decreasing in price since December last year. The dropping of the price did not recover until now. All other altcoins also follow the steps of Bitcoin. It is so sad to see the chart that everything is going down. Right now, I am just keeping my coin and hoping that it will rise up again.

238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you afraid of hackers? on: February 03, 2018, 12:28:18 PM
Recently Bloomberg posted the information that it took hackers less than 10 years to steal over 14% of all existing Bitcoins and Ethereum from the wallets of their holders. The total sum they have stolen is more than $1,2 billion! How to protect yourself from hackers attacks? Are you afraid of this stuff?
To protect myself from hacker is not to store too much bitcoin in my wallet and encash them once it got the highest price in the market. Also, I will change my password from time to time, I will make 15 characters and will never open wallet in any computer except my personal one. Hackers are very intelligent people but we are more intelligent than them because they use theirs in bad things,
239  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: February 02, 2018, 02:59:18 AM
If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.
Gold. Gold is still far better investment than Bitcoin. Gold's value will not change and will always remain valuable and high price. Bitcoin's price always change and we cannot predict its value. in Gold, investing in it will not take risks because you know that its price will keep on increasing from years to years. While in Bitcoin, you need to take risks because you are not sure if your investment will give you profit.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One country in Asia to develop bitcoin transactions legally on: February 02, 2018, 02:55:20 AM
As part of my advocacy to share good news about bitcoin.

A good push from one country in asia in planning to develop bitcoin

http://news.abs-cbn.com/business/01/29/18/philippines-to-develop-rules-on-cryptocurrency-trading

We bitcoin users surely need this, hoping this will jumpstart many country across the world in acceptance of bitcoin. Let us  repost this so everyone can help bitcoin to gain legalities and legitimacy.
That's a good news for the people in the Philippines because their government sees Bitcoin as a beneficial investment. They are providing their people with options in investment. They see Bitcoin as a good way of helping people to earn better and earn more. Actually, they also have this called "coins.ph" where it accepts bitcoin and you can encash it directly to banks and other money agencies.
