221  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner list of orders - October delivery on: October 23, 2013, 05:28:46 PM

It addresses that all October orders will be shipped, but does that include all October orders will be "hosted" as well? Cryptic talk
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 23, 2013, 05:06:31 PM
I see network hashrate that was 3.25PH/s when I looked late yesterday was a moment ago only 2.72 and now is 2.9.  I wonder if it's KnC miner users shutting down and restarting with the new firmware.

KNC Pool (https://portal.kncminer.com/) speed already 70 +TH/s (from about 25 TH/s for 24 hrs ). What it mean?

The firmware worked in the datacentre. It was tested on the hosting facility last night, then released today as it was deemed stable.

Hi, Bitcoinorama!

While we have you here and since you mention the hosting facility. Any news from there? Any fires or other disasters preventing new units from being added to it?

Only my and several other people's orders are skipped, while later non-hosted orders are being shipped. You said earlier that the queue was sacred...

The responses I got from support were non-commital, along the lines of "we know there are problems with the data centre, our engineers are working on it." I haven't heard any single existing hosted customer reporting any problems with their equipment that is already running there.

Any specific information would be welcome.

Thank you.

Yes, Bitcoinorama, please enlighten us! Have they run out of power/space or something? What is going on
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 23, 2013, 03:35:00 PM
Another day is over and my hosted 39xx Saturn (ordered and paid on the 18th of July) still has status "Paid". Maybe tomorrow, then...

Same here, on a Jupiter, paid 16 of July. And people who paid middle of August are getting theirs shipped. Hosting customers getting fucked bad, I don't understand, what's the issue with their data center? Have they run out of space? Why the eff are they shipping mid August orders before mid July hosting orders? WHAT IS UP WITH HOSTING? Day 1 & Day 2 hosting customers are good. Every other hosting customers are effed. Something smells fishy about this.
224  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnC news on: October 23, 2013, 03:25:49 PM
The biggest annoyance is hosting. We got customers that paid mid August getting their product shipped while those who paid in mid July for Hosting aren't getting squat yet. WHAT'S WRONG WITH HOSTING! Day 1 & 2 hosting customers are fine, but everyone else - what are they doing - mining with them?
225  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner list of orders - October delivery on: October 23, 2013, 02:29:06 PM
I'm Hosting, 1 Jupiter (upgraded from saturn), ordered and paid July 16th. Still in PAID status, still waiting on hosting... Sad I wonder if they're just mining with our Hosting units.

I don't think so. I am in the same boat with hosted Saturn 39xx (ordered and paid 18th of July).

Yeah, but I don't get it, Day 1 and Day 2 have been hosting since Oct. 10th or so. Every other hosting is delayed, while all other orders are being shipped. Have they run out of DC space or something? Something doesn't add up. And they haven't addressed the issues, keeping us in the dark. They had to please the Day 1/Day 2 customers, and started shipping the rest, but wtf about the rest of the hosting customers. I'd still rather do hosting because I'm illiterate when it comes to hardware, power supplies, so I'll just suck it up.

229  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: September 12, 2013, 02:51:23 PM
Not sure if this has been answered already, but would I be able to run the 2TH Cointerra miner at home? Or it's suited more for data-center-type environments?
230  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: August 26, 2013, 04:07:04 PM
This was probably mentioned, but just wanted to let people know that HashFast was nice enough to refund me about 6 BTC due to mispricing of the exchange rate. Not bad! I wasn't even expecting it.
231  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt GOX starting to die? on: August 20, 2013, 04:26:39 PM
The US Govt seized $2.9 million from Mt. Gox's Dwolla account:

http://finextra.com/News/FullStory.aspx?newsitemid=25134

That explains why they're having a hard time making withdrawals... because they are out $2.9 million. They can only handle x amount of withdrawals a day to keep up with revenues and expenses.

I just txted the guy. He says:
"Don't give them the guys license plate who had the car before the guy who sold it to me which I have sold that car anyways"

This guy's from Kansas. Coincidence?

Note: I wasn't dumb enough to send him a screenshot, but I feel bad for some that did.
235  Economy / Scam Accusations / BEWARE: LocalBitcoins Screenshot Scam on: August 19, 2013, 09:03:58 PM
Beware of this guy: Sucram on local bitcoins:
https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/sucraM/

He just scammed a lot of people, asking for a screenshot of the pre-funding page "for verification/security" and then when he gets the screenshot, he releases the funds. The screenshot has the authentication code to release the funds. WATCH OUT!

Someone on there lost over $8,000...

Also this guy's number is:  1-913-200-1331. Need to come up with a way to counter-scam this jackass.

Has this whole Android pseudo-random generator bug had any effect on the Trezor?

If there is a similar software glitch that's found in the Trezor after product is shipped, will there be ways to upgrade firmware? (I believe there is, just checking)
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 15, 2013, 07:40:21 PM
Bitfury sucks are you on crack. It will be just as worthless as these units. The only company to order from would be xcrowd who will offer you a gaurantee up to a certain difficulty and provide much more hashing power. Or cointerra which their high hashing power might be a guarantee for delays.

Those are the only logical options. Cointerra seems it will be the winner if they keep their promise of long term mining equipment it means they will offer some serious hashing power for much cheaper which will make other manufacterers cut pricing.

And which will effectively kill avalon and bfls shit businesses.

Seems like Bitfury is most likely to deliver product the earliest though, considering we've seen some hashing done on those chips, and they already have the chips, and they're just waiting on PCB manufacturing. Also, even though BitFury isn't on 28nm, I read in a couple places that BitFury may be even more efficient than KNC... Is that true?

Yes pay 8k for october delivery even more expensive than knc. Knc will most likely deliver in october its just their September date is most likely near the end, which effectively makes it an october delivery.

8k for BitFury vs 7k for KNC. Not that big a difference, and throw in the fact that BitFury chips are ready, I think the 1k premium is reasonable because of this. I think BitFury has a higher, but not THAT much higher, chance of delivering in October than KNC, but that's just my educated guess.

EDIT: Plus, if it's true, BitFury may even be more efficient. (For those talking about long-term mining). Personally I have orders in both, I like to hedge.

What other ASIC manufacturers are stating deliveries in October and how likely is it that they will do it?

HashFast.  we'll see.

it is better to go with bitfury. they already have a product out. they just need to do the shipping. Again, they _already_ have the product made.

Actually I was just wondering about this. BitFury already has working chips. KNC & HashFast don't. I was wondering, what are the chances that their chips will come out right on the first try? Is it often the case that it's trial & error until you get it right? What would you say the probability that they'll get the chip results right the first time? Did BitFury get it on the first try? Or Avalon. Anyone know?
240  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open on: August 15, 2013, 07:14:53 PM
However - as my opinion whether you are recommended to buy or not buy - I don't know your regulations there and suppose they're quite strict, like FCC stuff and EMC tests. Until for example proper measurements of equipment are done - it may be risky to install many of these near yourself due to electromagnetic emission and noise. So either properly designer board and/or filters and/or shielding is required. I hope that this would be clarified soon. This is also true for homebrew devices that you make and don't care about switching noise such devices produce (like I saw in some DIY stuff where powering of such high-power chips are done in absolutely insane ways, or like problems with other asic vendors, you know them by the way likely, where their shipments were banned by customs due to these violations).

Anyway, as far as I know Dave has as well options to install miners in his location - this would be likely safe in any way, and maybe if you install these - before proper measurements done (i.e. in special laboratory with antennas where typically EMC measurements are done) - this maybe risky to install at home,  or at least close to you - so don't sit near miner 24x7 and don't put those close to you.

You should care about that and do not put your health into unnecessary risk. However I suppose Dave will do his best to solve these issues and make device fully compliant for safe usage. However that still won't mean that such equipment can be installed in bulk at home, and should be spreaded in space for maintaining safely low electromagnetic noise. Likely also undervolted boards is nice choice for safety, but all of that should be measured, and likely will be measured, the only delay could be there (and it is basically your choice) that such measurements could take additional time and can't be done before August timeframe. This depends.

I apologize if this has been covered, I tried skimming the thread, and may have missed this. I'm a software guy, not much on hardware, EM emission & noise safety precautions. Can someone please point me to a thread or some resources where I can take the necessary precautions to prevent health risks to myself and those around me? I plan on operating both a BitFury Full Kit, and a HashFast BabyJet in my 1 bed + den apartment. Would I need to purchase special casing/shielding etc to prevent health risks? If I ran both these units in a small well-ventilated den, and I stayed away from the room for the most of the time, would I be ok? Also, if it were to burst into flames, is there some auto-sprinkler device or some shielding I can use to prevent burning my landlord's building down, in the event no one is present?  Any resources/threads on this would be very appreciated!

EDIT: I skimmed the thread more and nobody commented on bitfury's post about EM emmission & noise safety... And this disclaimer came from BITFURY himself!
