221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin part of the elite, the illuminati, new world order? on: June 13, 2011, 03:19:26 AM
meh, we should focus our lives on existing outside their sphere of monetary and psychological influence.
This is all irrelevant.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mtgox might just kill Bitcoins chances of success on: June 13, 2011, 01:56:27 AM
Agreed the exchanges and lack of transparency are major setbacks to the progress of BTC.  I would also say that having a floating value is a killer for BTC to actually be used as a medium of exchange. The fluctuation is way too insane, something like 5,000% more volatile than the USD.   A currency cannot be this volatile, its not functional. As a specualtion vehicle, the volitility is a decapitator, and as a storage of wealth highly risky at best. Lots of issues, for sure.  will these issues be worked out? or more correctly asked, can these issues be worked out? Huh

Well then. Have fun taking their coins.

IF I was a pure darwinist, as many seem to be here, then it would be alot easier.

I'm 100% sure it will go to 500. But tomorrow, depending on the prices, I might feel differently.

exactly..... Roll Eyes
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC do each of the developers have? on: June 12, 2011, 07:48:37 PM
Early adopters obviously have mucho BTC.  But I would be interested to hear how much the developers have and what their plans are.  Have any of the developers discussed this?

why dont you give them a ring and ask...
226  Economy / Economics / Its going to $454, no Its going to zero, no on second thought its going to $50 on: June 12, 2011, 07:47:20 PM
this is the most neurotic sentiment Ive seen on an issue possibly in my whole career.  Ive traded commodities for 16+ years, and its easy to see in the price action that the people in this market are emotionally unstable and immature. The greed / fear oscillation is beyond compare.  Match that with tiny float / no liquidity and you get this roller coaster of emotional and financial insanity.

For those having important money in BTC, i.e. college fund, retirement etc, you should be warned that the the lows will be plunged again. Protect yourself, at this stage of development this is a wealth grinder.  Ive seen the effect is some OTC stock issues, but nothing this extreme.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can trolls affect a solid currency? on: June 11, 2011, 11:34:22 PM
silver and gold couldnt care less about trolls
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you brought at 31.00, are you kicking yourself now? Market down to 20.00 on: June 11, 2011, 12:56:54 AM
indeed BTFD!
the idiots have not arrived yet. When they do, STFT.
229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to rally to $50+ on: June 10, 2011, 09:11:05 PM
Ive been in many trades with new and novel technology roll out.  This is the same animal, although a different commodity.
Frankly I do hope people vehemently hate BTC, say for a year or so. and then like all good duplicitous humans they will begin to love it and it will be their god. yes its true.

your heard it here first  Wink
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox changed the bank transfer message! on: June 10, 2011, 08:56:47 PM
has taken 11 days for dwolla to move money from my bank to purgatory and still not to mt gox, or it is and they are not telling me.  Angry
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dead wallets on: June 10, 2011, 04:52:13 PM
I would call this Erosion. yet another entrophic phenomenon that was probably not factored into development.
So I wonder what this erosion rate might be over say 50 years.  Will 20-40% be lost to erosion or misplacement?
This phenomenon will of course make the original and remaining series of BTC more valuable.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Jailbreak -- Reputation? on: June 10, 2011, 04:45:26 PM
theres already a reputation site, call them and tell them to associate with BTC.

http://www.reputationdefender.com/

I am really starting to believe in this. Seems every transaction a huge amount of time is wasted trying to figure out if your dealing witha crim or not.  I mean the Bush family or Obama could be on the other end of the transaction, and who wants that?

233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: price stagnation on: June 10, 2011, 01:41:15 PM
The price is flat because the flow of fund into mtgox has been stopped for upgrades.
I imagine a big up or down day when things resolve. 10 days my money has been in limbo.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff doesn't get Bitcoin on: June 10, 2011, 01:51:02 AM
Shiff can be brought around if someone sits down and talks with him.  His and my reactions were the same when I read about BTC.  I like silver so I'm on the same page.  But Im still coming around. If he can be shown how bitcoin is similar to silver, and how BTC can be its own monetary system for a community, he'll at least not be negative on it.
Will BTC be used to fund wars, probably not. Will BTC be used to turn americans into slaves,  I doubt it.  Now lets ask those questions of the USD.  Roll Eyes
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DWOLLA / MTGOX fund transfers being held up. on: June 10, 2011, 01:23:29 AM

236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pain for metals investors—Silver on: June 09, 2011, 08:28:36 PM
It's funny how people are led to love quantitative easing because they can make money on it.

QE is terrible. I hate it despite any money making opportunities.

Yes QE is horrendous, but its to a system I no longer identify as my own.  Its *Their* system, let them do as they wish, give unto ceasar what belongs to ceasar.  Im now culturally and mostly economically outside of it.  An outsider. That is OK with me, I am used to it.  I should write a book, "How I stopped worrying about fiat, and started loving QE".

As the paper chasing masses continue to worship their burning scrip on the alter of the federal reserve steps, those alternative to that religion won't be part of the self sacrifice. The longer QE goes on, the farther the masses are degraded to serfdom, blissfully unaware.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DWOLLA / MTGOX fund transfers being held up. on: June 09, 2011, 07:37:15 PM
thanks dude.   No explanation from Mtgox or Dwolla.
238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / DWOLLA / MTGOX fund transfers being held up. on: June 09, 2011, 07:24:43 PM
yesterday was the shumer/manchin release,  Correlation?
and I have funds somewhere between... Undecided
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Garzik encourages regulation on: June 09, 2011, 07:18:57 PM
This is classic first mover advantage unfolding. Becoming safe through sanction, and then as competitors show up,  800 pound gorilla status secured....off to buy more BTC.....
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pain for metals investors—Silver on: June 09, 2011, 07:08:08 PM
Silver still inst doing too bad. Started piling it in the safe at $7, and stopped the collection at $22-24, picked up a few oddball pieces at 34.  Im holding for the grandkids so they can buy remaining FRNs as toilet paper for the outhouse. BTC is part of that plan too. Cant wait for QE4, 5, 6 etc. Serfdom is for the paper chasers.
