So if I have a s7 running off a bedroom power outlet am I capping the circuit? I don't think the bedroom has its own circuit on the breaker box
222  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need Recommendation What's the quietest, most power miner for use in home-office on: November 08, 2015, 04:20:24 PM
Thanks for the replies. I have 2 Evga 1300 G2 psu's laying around that I could use.  Will the S-7 Batch 4 run on 110?

Yes it will
223  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: November 08, 2015, 06:40:04 AM
Weird

If you click the s7 banner on antpool dashboard it lets you buy a batch 3 unit.. Brought me all the way through checkout and to the purchase part with the custom wallet addy to send the coins.. Even got an email for it to complete my purchase

Of course I'm not gonna gamble my BTC and actually pay the order, I'm pretty sure it's just a glitch and someone forgot to edit the banner and remove batch 3 page
224  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: November 08, 2015, 06:21:45 AM
Looks like other sites offering them at 1650 and they take PayPal

I may have to jump on that if its not much of a price diff
225  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: November 07, 2015, 03:52:39 AM
Both my 4.86TH Batch 1's when downclocked to 575Mh, got 0.0001 or 0.0000% error rates at just over 4.73TH average over a 12 hour period while testing.

I also found, that by loosening up the screws on the fans front and aft (all Cool the sound became a much less 'droning' and a smooth 'hooosh' type of sound.
Originally the sound was like a humming type , pretty loud.

And yes, like I said I would, I got rid of my S7's as I'm done with Bitmain as a business after the crap they pulled with this miner.

Ahh that's why they were all loose lol

@philipma1957 you can tentatively put me down for 1 A6.

First 2 are here:

1)philipma1957
2)valkir

put in a name  no obligation or coins for now.

3)wlefever
4)-droid- (1 for sure, maybe 2 or 3)

id be interested in a couple.. if they can downclock and if they are on par with 4.1 noise levels they would be perfect home heat this winter
228  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S7 on: November 04, 2015, 07:10:29 PM
yeah i ran a 2 molex to 1 pcie splitter for awhile.. ran both molex lines separate from PSU to power 1 pcie connector on an avalon 4.1 and also BFL monarch before that
229  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Solo mining with 2x S7 10 Th/S on: November 04, 2015, 06:40:33 PM
trying to solo with 10TH is a crapshoot.. better odds buying a scratch off lotto ticket
230  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: November 04, 2015, 06:37:33 PM
Not sure if it will pay off, but couldn't resist a B4 for 3.557 shipped. Ordered 2 B5s yesterday for little over 4 BTC each. Hopefully, BTC price will go up or remain the same.

Indeed with the Value of of the BTC raising and Bitmain not raising the USD price... i'd say i'm conditionally revoking my comments that the S7 pricing is overpriced and broken. As long as the price of BTC stays over 350$ for a few months, they are now a great buy.

yeah but having to wait a month for them to ship from china.. you never know what the btc price will be around that time

rofl Smiley..umm...selfie sticks are now "computer hardware". Do these selfie sticks hash? How many TH can one stick output Smiley? These are important questions man! I needs to know!

We could expect this price increase since BTC prise is skyrocketing recently. Unfortunately this bubble will explode before the S7 arrives and destroy dreams of ROI Sad

never!  to the mooN!

i have just use my blockchain wallet and it seems all back to normal again and latest status from blockchain.info twitter https://twitter.com/blockchain/status/658844610589020160
all problem is solved

Problem was my balance was not showing actual balance.. But i checked balance on block explorer and sent what I should have anyway on blockchain.info to my mycelium wallet and it transferred just fine

I'm now switching to mycelium
235  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info Services Down on: October 27, 2015, 03:57:44 AM
I've been paid twice today and after wallet service came back up my wallet is showing a negative balance.. I can see both green transactions in the app but the balance is not reflecting this.. Very disappointing
236  Economy / Web Wallets / Blockchain.info wallet issues today on: October 27, 2015, 03:49:34 AM
Seems like they had some server maintenance today but ever since its been back up my wallet is not crediting my recent transactions

So after reading others success regarding fan % and warmer chips resulting in better performance I am testing my two units at 30%

Antpool is already showing a significant jump in poolside hashrate

Orig temps were roughly 44c, now with 30% fan temps are 58-60c

Letting it run overnight and will check results tomorrow

If you want better testing conditions, set a lower difficulty. 1/4 difficulty = 4x the test data in the same time as long as the controller can take it.

so when I got in, the unit which I was getting lesser speed and more HW% being clocked at 600freq was performing at 4797gh and 0.01% HW  and my other unit clocked at 618 was getting 4997gh and 0.008% HW

seems that the lesser unit was indeed performing better on the HW aspect, and maybe 50-80gh more in hash speed.  the second unit seemed to not make a difference.

the temps on the first board on each of the 2 units were at 64, so ive just increased fan to 40% instead of 30%

after 30min my 600freq unit is now hashing at 4810 with 0.02% HW and my 618freq unit is hashing at 4987 with 0.0067% HW

I think 40% is the sweet spot for my setup.

temps on first board are both 53/54 and the rest of the boards between 48-51

EDIT: maybe i spoke too soon.. at 45min the 600freq unit has dropped now to 4778gh and the 618freq unit dropping to 4965

240  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best miner hardware in case of Free electricity on: October 16, 2015, 06:21:07 PM
you dont wanna "win the lotto" by solo mining with 10TH.. the odds are stacked against you

you want to pool mine with that hashrate and yeah S3 is best hash/$ but consider the space it requires.. do you have the room for that amnt of heat and noise and 22 s3's take up quite a bit of room

take a look at spondoolies gear too.. you can get sp20 for similar to s5 and they are slightly better.. or better yet go for spondoolies sp30/31/35 on ebay (with built in power supply)
