Im gonna stake mine when the dev drops the new wallet tomorrow, normally im not that a big on it but i think il change up for this one  Smiley

you should stake asap to get remaining higher pos rewards they won't last long. Also, try to post a bit less often you're almost spamming this topic, or just edit previous posts if they are so close together in time

He's not posting too much. Just wait until this coin gets a real market cap. You'll see the trolls really come out, especially if the devs put in some anon. He'll need to post every couple of minutes just to keep things balanced.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NINJA][SCRYPT] GraphCoin [ROADMAP][NO ICO/PREMINE] on: May 13, 2015, 10:41:49 PM
Very good post.  When we were originally planning this, the Graph Betting Nodes were going to require other coin daemons installed on the same VPS to address this, and they could act like block explorers.  This way, we could have nodes broadcast scanning for others, and we would always have a point of reference instead of hardcoding the daemon to do api calls to a block explorer (which would be sloppy, and unsecure).

As you know, we had to shift focus and put the betting nodes on the back burner so Graph wouldn't be for the sole purpose of gambling, so we decided to build this into the online wallet.  We had the arbitrage and AuxPos planned, so we just changed up the roadmap.  The other things we plan to do are even more ambitious, but we have a lot on our plates right now

Your post has merit, and I'm glad these discussions are happening.  Decentralizing things is a must, and this was all supposed to be done by distributing the Graph Nodes, but until that happens we will have to use the online wallet.

I realize I am venturing to the horizons of your plans, so I don't mean to unfairly put you on the spot. But GraphNodes are going to need to be more than hosts for block explorers. Somehow you are going to need to integrate information from the other chains into the graph chain itself. One possibility is to delegate this integration to GraphNodes and compensate them accordingly. In other words, GraphNodes would have to all track 5 chains then develop a consensus on the state of the 4 guest chains (crave, doge, black, sdc) and then broadcast this consensus to the rest of the network within the graph chain. It seems possibe with a masternode system if the compensation is appropriate. It doesn't seem easy though. There are issues that need consideration, orphan blocks in the guest chains being probably being the most serious.

[edit]

As I think about this interesting problem, I guess it would work well enough without a broadcast of the consensus, if the masternodes were responsible for approving (by consensus) any stake signed by one of the keys awarded to holders of the guest currencies.

Auxiliary Proof-of-Stake Flowchart:

Thank you all for waiting, the flowchart that explains how the AuxPos will work is ready.  This technology will require a hardfork, but this won't happen for a few weeks.  The main idea here, is that we want investors in other projects to see what we are doing, and leverage their holdings by staking Graph.  This will make it so they have to purchase Graph to leverage their SDC, BC, Doge, Crave, and so forth.  In order to make up for this inflation, individuals will be burning Graph when arbitrage opportunities arise.  Graph holders will also want to purchase coins from other projects, which should stimulate their economies as well.

We will also be releasing a new wallet with a lot of functionality very soon.  There will also be a paper wallet generator and other things delivered to meet the May 15th deadline.  Right now we are finishing the wallet statistics and ads in wallet.

Thanks.

One problem I see with this setup is how is it possible to pay for holding across chains without a centralized setup? For example, the chart says I could prove I own some crave by a signed message, but this requires a current and valid crave blockchain to verify. Now, if I am to get paid in graph, how is the graph block chain going to verify my ownership of crave?

The only technology I see being developed for this type of thing is blocknet but you have no blocknet coins listed. Interchain communication is not a trivial thing.

Some clarity on this issue would be appreciated. If you come back and say you are going to use blocknet, then my question is why are blocknet coins and blocknet itself excluded from your list?

[addendum]

Nevermind it is centralized accountability according to the chart:

"Graph's online wallet will monitor proof of ownership in other currencies, and render the encrypted key useless if the balance is reduced."

I think this is fine for the short term (3-6 months), given the current limitations of interchain communication. However, I do not see this as a long term (years) solution. I hope the devs will soon address this weakness because it will strengthen these plans and this coin considerably.

I can't help get this company back on track and spend all day on forums, so my reasonable suggestion had been to create regular corporate information releases, and then address personal emails that have been sent to info@breakoutgaming.com.

I suggest to crosspost updates here (immediately following release) and to also advertise information releases through twitter.

Breakout Gaming: ...live operations to begin on or before August 1st...

Breakout Coin: ...our goal is to have the finished product released on or before September 1st...

Quick question if you don't mind.  How are you going live with gaming without a coin? "Breakout Gaming is the first gaming platform to feature Breakout Coin (BRO), which is used to buy chips and play the platform’s amazing games."

I'm sure a public answer would be appreciated.

+1  Question of the day.

To be fair aint happy about the price not coming down either i went out for a 4 course meal on graph n ended up with a sandwich.. it is what it is you cant win um all.

I've already got a 4 course meal in this coin. I was going for the royal banquet.

Lololol ok that's the least scary thing iv ever seen (9607.480 BTC)

Need to go back to scare school cuz aint nobody here letting out, price is pipped to go up up up!

That or you are the greatest hyper I've ever seen. The price has gone up nearly 30% since you started posting a few hours ago.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NINJA][SCRYPT] GraphCoin [ROADMAP][NO ICO/PREMINE] on: May 10, 2015, 09:30:38 PM
My connection is 40mb fiber optic.
Creating a conf as you said i got 1 block now, but I believe that something in the code can be improved on next wallet.
No orphans with crave or graviton

It's hard to know if something is wrong without knowing how many you are trying to stake.

Try to dumpprivkey for the address/es you are staking with then import those keys into a fresh wallet with importprivkey. Stake with the new wallet.

Also, it really helps to open the port on your router if you can because it allows you the most number of peers to broadcast your blocks to. For graph the port is 30371.

FYI,

Another coin is using the symbol "BRO"  Cheesy

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1052042.0

Those that hesitate, don't get a date.

I'm going to mine this "browse coin" [BRO] just so I can tip the dev for taking this god-awful ticker symbol.

Update: Arbitrage Flowchart:

Thank you all for participating in this Dynamic Proof-of-Stake period, as the largest blocks come to an end, there will be another 15,000 blocks before we transition to a standard 'interest' rate.  Moving forward, we are working to release our Graph Trade Engine Protocol which will be accessed through the online wallet.  This feature will allow individuals to leverage their Graph Coins to generate BTC profits trading between exchanges.  During the beta test period, the online wallet will burn 10% of the profit generated through arbitrage in Graph Coins.  This means if you make .03 BTC on a trade, you will burn .003BTC worth of Graph Coins.  This will reward arbitrage users by allowing them to profit, while lowering the total Graph Coins in existence.

As we move forward with the Auxiliary Proof-of-Stake technology, the entire PoS rewards structure will change to reward GraphCoin holders even more.  There will be a flowchart for this released tomorrow.

It looks like the profit sharing is not decentralized. Users have to send coins to the online wallet that's not in their control. Then they have to wait for the arbitrage to be executed and then expect payouts from those who executed the arbitrage. Then the user's coins will be burnt?

That's a lot of trust.

It's pretty obvious this coin needs an epic dump.

If you can fud, please step up. Thx.

He dumped. Grin

Yeah, he's going to have to ask his mom for Dr. Pepper money after that loss.

And so soon after his paper route made him "financially independent".

yeah the blockchain is just moving ridiculously slow

Does anyone have any mature coins that aren't staking? In other words, does anyone have any coins that should be staking but aren't minting blocks?
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COV] Coven [3% PoS/33k Supply][Indistinguishability Obfuscator/Anno Feat] on: May 01, 2015, 04:24:24 AM
It's a good idea to have a backup of the node somewhere in case the main node goes down for some reason.
So I clone the whole droplet including the wallet.dat and start the walletd in the cloned node? The two won't interfere wrongly with each other?

No. Just have a backup of the wallet ready in case your droplet goes down. If it's a droplet, you probably don't have to worry about it too much.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COV] Coven [3% PoS/33k Supply][Indistinguishability Obfuscator/Anno Feat] on: May 01, 2015, 04:23:24 AM
long post

My buy order for 26 COV is at the top of the bittrex orders right now. If someone dumps into it, I'll send them to your staking wallet minus the transaction fee.

[edit]

Already buried.

237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COV] Coven [3% PoS/33k Supply][Indistinguishability Obfuscator/Anno Feat] on: April 30, 2015, 11:39:06 PM
Now what is next ... Who is a staking expert? What is more effective for stabilizing the weak COV network - one node with 100 COV, or two nodes with 50 COV - or is it essentially the same?   Because if I actually receive some more donations on that address, I could afford to rent another VPS droplet, and send half of the funds there. Then there would be 2 nodes which are staking 24/7. But only if that really helps.

If the same person controls the coins, it doesn't matter if you split it up between nodes. For simplicity, you should have them all on the same node. It's a good idea to have a backup of the node somewhere in case the main node goes down for some reason. If you have enough coins (about 150 COV or so), you could split them into 20 transactions. In 8 hours they would start splitting to 40 on their own. 8 hours after that 160. With 320 transactions, you get 1 block every 5 minutes or so, which is enough to carry the network. The money you have already received from spartak could carry the network. Add this to whoever else is staking and it will move along nicely. It would take about 2 days to get there if you split into 20 transactions right now.

Staking with 0.5% of the money supply in this way wouldn't be "centralized" because you have 95.5% of the rest of the money to compete with you for blocks.

yes the timing with the other sha coins that day was odd, maybe this is an elaborate ploy to drag some miners away from sling (or all the same person and see which one works[look at slings volume] like maybe your suggesting), altho after watching the hashrates on both, pretty much everyone left cov.

Coven definitely got the fewest hashes that night.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COV] Coven [3% PoS/33k Supply][Indistinguishability Obfuscator/Anno Feat] on: April 30, 2015, 08:13:41 AM
sadly a lot of ppl in crypto will wait about a week before calling out as a scam and dumping. only time will tell tho, dev activity is a bit odd i must say, get a community member to do regular/better updates

on the plus side network seems to be working a bit better today.

I don't believe that developer will return. Missing even a day, when your coin has problems is a long time in cryptoworld. If we assume that he is silent for a reason (buy cheap coins while people are selling at loss), then we are talking about pure greed. He had (and still have) the chance to buy 10-20% of the entire supply for peanuts.

I'd rather the dev was greedy than have bailed because he lacked the ability to dev a coin.

i'm still waiting for confirm of inject code...

wait with buys or sell a little bit for prevention if it will be the same like it was with BT...

i'm tired of  sick spam coins that appears every day

You didn't explain what "samesame" is. Can you provide a link?
