iam read and get information, in maidsafecoin, support create token or asset use maidsafe technology is true or not
how i can create token or asset use maidsafe coin, you can explain for me

currently you can not create a token on SAFE. At least not one that is movable from 1 address to the other (change of ownership). This is upcoming though, from that moment people can implement alt-coins on the system. One user (see link) is creating a protocol on SAFE which allows for exactly that. There are a lot of options, even proof-of-work without a blockchain (SAFE doesn't have a blockchain).

Who's running a Vault on TEST 12 right now? Mine is online for almost 10 hours now. There's 124 mb. of chunks in my Vault. All quite stable. Will upload/download some more data as test to see how fast the current network is with all these community Vaults.

TEST 12 is live, you can now run a Vault from home if you have enough bandwidth. You can always connect to the network as a Client and upload data and more.

omni based?

Yes, Maidsafecoin (MAID) runs on the blockchain using OMNI. In the future coins can be exchanged 1-on-1 for the real SAFE Coin on the SAFE Network.

For those interested in the coming TEST 12 network with Vaults from home.....

SAFE has 2 sides:

  • The Client (Download, Upload, ID, Wallet, App, Websites and more )
  • The Vaults (Routing chunks, Farming Safecoin)

People are free to use the Client as much as they want. Downloading data will always be free (at least that's the idea). So people can browse Safe websites, download data and use an app. Creating an account will cost Safecoin in the future.

On the Vault-side things are different. The Vaults route data. And you don't connect directly to a Vault in the future but your client will use some sort of proxy-node to connect to the network. So the idea is, people could just run a Vault to farm Safecoin as they support the network. They can use the Client just for surfing safesites and more. The devs just gave some more details for people that want to run a Vault from home:

So before you can join as a Vault the network will test your capacity. Your computer needs to do a number of little tests before it can join as a Vault. We can test this once TEST 12 is released  Tongue

228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is MaidSafeCoin actually a thing? on: January 19, 2017, 03:51:28 PM
I checked both their forums and both are very inactive compared to other alternate communities.

I posted a question there earlier today and had a response within a minute and many likes on the posts, so it can't be that inactive.

It's quite active. Have a look:

https://safenetforum.org

Here's the other topic on Bitcointalk about Maidsafe (the company) and SAFE (the project they are building)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=579797.2260

Maidsafe (the company) is real and working for over 10 years on this project (SAFE) now. Their software called Alpha 1 is currently running on several hundreds of nodes
in a datacentre, but we had several testnest with Vaults from home. These Vaults is where the routing takes place. It will allow people to Farm (a bit like mining) Safecoin from home
when they deliver data to the network. We are waiting for Vaults again which got updated with the new routing. They have a group of professional paid programmers working on their project.

https://github.com/orgs/maidsafe/people

Maidsafe is still looking to hire more engineers/devs. So yeah, this thing is definitely for real.

But like I said, there's already a topic about Maidsafe on BCT (see link above). And their forum is the best place to go for more info. You can try out their Alpha 1 project as well:

https://maidsafe.net/

Have fun.

Nick Lambert is the Maidsafe COO. He replied to a question about last year's funding which partly took part in BTC at BankToTheFuture.

David replied as well:

What david wrote could be a piece of fiction. He translated most of the btc from crwdfunding into fiat, and is currently in the process of withdrawing the rest of cyrpto and fiat contributions from bitfinex. I got chat logs in which he asks McReynolds guy from coinigi to assist him in taking the burden of being MAID CEO off his shoulders. McReynolds will be given the rights of possession of MAID brand along with related goodies, bitcointalk accounts and passwords of safenetforum.org admin panel.

If the coin is have no value, then why is it necessary?

The value is that you can exchange them for "SAFEcoin" on the network. So say you have 1000 MAID:

  • Maidsafe implements test-SAFEcoin, tests farming, transactions, attacks etc.
  • If all is well and tested, Maidsafe will announce that the real SAFEcoin will be launched on date X
  • Maybe they connect with some exchanges to allow people to change MAID for SAFEcoin
  • They might also open a place on their website with a "burn address" for MAID
  • You provide your address for your SAFEcoin-wallet on the SAFE Network. You burn your MAID coin and Maidsafe provides you the SAFEcoin on SAFE

It will probably be something like this.

Better explanation than mine, dude you look like a safe network guru and expert. Are you in the team? Now is in test11, when will they have beta test? In 2017? I wait for a big pump, also hope their official release will come asap.

I'm not a coder, not in the team. I own MAID and invested last year with the BankToTheFuture equity sale. I follow them closely. I know nothing more than others though, Maidsafe is very open with weekly updates and you can follow them on gitHub.

https://github.com/maidsafe/routing/pulse
https://github.com/maidsafe/safe_vault/pulse
https://github.com/maidsafe

TEST 11 is active for quite some time know. But it still runs on a droplet-network in a datacenter somewhere. We have to wait for Vaults which they are testing for several weeks. I guess we have TEST 12 in the coming weeks. If TEST 12 (running Vaults from home) is a success I guess they release the Vaults for the Alpha-network. So that could be called Alpha 2. All chunks will be stored at least at 8 nodes and people run Vaults from home. But that's all guessing  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy. My main focus are the upcoming Vaults and I don't really care what they call the networks.

Whats the ticker for this safe coin? On yobit I see sfe, is that the right one? If so way to cheap compared to maidsafe. Well let us know, Happy New Year!!

SAFEcoin isn't released yet. Maidsafecoin is the proxy coin which can be exchanged 1-on-1 for SAFEcoin when it's launched. That's the only coin that can be traded right now
and was released by Maidsafe the company.

There is another "Safecoin" out there that has nothing to do with the SAFE network and Maidsafe. I don't know what SAFEcoin by Maidsafe will be called when it's implemented on the
network. I hope they look for a very unique name.

http://coinmarketcap.com/assets/maidsafecoin/#charts

This link above is the only right coin for Maidsafe/SAFE right now. Its ticker is MAID.

First alt-coin on SAFE is live and kicking

Safecoin isn't the core focus of the Maidsafe devs at the moment (Vaults are) but luckily for the community the first alt-coin went live on TEST 11 today. As far as I know this is the first coin ever on SAFE. User "bochaco" used several workarounds due to current limitations on TEST 11. The coins can be minted by anyone and of course there's no guarantee about the safety at the moment. If you want to use a private and public key, grab on from Bitaddress.org but make sure to use these keys only for fun and the storage of the 'ThanksCoin'.

SAFE Wallet and it's current first alt-coin called 'ThanksCoin' shows us several things:

  • The idea and/or concept of Safecoin is feasible. At least on the current TEST 11 network.
  • Alt-coins on SAFE are feasible as well.
  • Transactions can be very fast as I tested it and moved coins from 1 place to the other under a second.
  • Web-apps like a wallet on SAFE using the SAFE Browser are possible as all the permissions and security run through the Launcher.

If you want to test the wallet and the movement of coins, use the following steps:

Get TEST 11 up and running with the Launcher and SAFE Browser:
https://safenetforum.org/t/maidsafe-dev-update-october-18-2016-test-11/11562

Follow the steps provided in the topic by "bochaco"
https://safenetforum.org/t/introducing-safe-wallet-app/11764/60

If asked for a private and public key, go to this link and copy paste them to the SAFE Wallet app:
https://www.bitaddress.org

Remember that these coins have no value, can be minted by anyone and are a POC for the SAFE Wallet. Never use your real private and public keys to test the App.

Enjoy!@!!

238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: December 28, 2016, 10:10:56 AM
There won't be a Maidsafe dev-update today so I thought I'd give a little update here on 2016 and the upcoming stuff for 2017. This is a complete un-official update so to speak.

2016:

  • Loads of work done (several people several weeks) on getting "Crust" ready. This is the lowest layer where IP-addresses and NAT and hole punching take part. Maidsafe wanted SAFE to be
encrypted from bit 1. So the public keys to connect to the bootstrap-servers are used from bit 1. Your node connects over an encrypted layer to the bootstrap-server and gets IP's from other users to connect to. This work payed off very well as I was able to connect to around 30 tot 40 nodes under a few seconds in several test-nets from home. All these connection were encrypted so no ISP will ever understand what you do on SAFE if they look from the outside.
  • This year we finally saw test-nets with "Vaults" which we ran from home. This is also very important as SAFE will be a fully encrypted P2P-network that stores everything from websites to data. We've had around 5 or 6 test-nets with Vaults from home.
  • Another thing we got in 2016 was the client-part of the network. SAFE will never force you to run a Vault, instead everybody should be free to connect to the network and browse websites and data. Maidsafe proved that both "Self_Authentication" and "Self_Encryption" worked like they intended. Same for a decentralized DNS where everyone can register their own public name and/or domain. The concept of SAFE is feasible.
  • Dynamic data was added as well. This means you can own an address on the network, store a .txt file on it which you can change time and time again. The address of the file will stay the same but the bits so to speak can be updated. This is VERY important for every P2P-network that wants to host websites as well. Think of forums, reply-fields and more.
  • Maidsafe sold a piece of the company using BankToTheFuture. The equity sell was successful and Maidsafe formed a joint-venture in Hong-Kong called "Maidsafe Asia".
  • Maidsafe will work with the University of Glasgow where computer science students will build apps and stuff for SAFE.
  • Routing got a complete overhaul as explained in the "Disjoint Groups" RFC. Routing is the layer above "Crust". This was several months work but will make routing more secure.
  • API's were released which let external devs connect their apps to SAFE. A series of tutorials showed the inner workings of these API's and external devs created apps based on them

2017:

  • We are again waiting for Vaults. This shouldn't be that exciting as we already had like 5 or 6 test-nets with Vaults. But here's the catch: In the upcoming Vaults the new routing (Disjoint Groups) is implemented. Each chunk of data will be stored at least 8 times on the network. This is an upgrade from the former 3 times. The new routing will have a system implemented which can merge/split groups when they become to small/big so this will also help data-retention on the network. Remember that all data, including your personal encrypted files are chunked and stored on the network. In the old test-nets people lost their account quite quickly (in days) because of nodes joining and leaving the network. My guess is that data-retention is massively improved with the new routing. No matter what data you need, it's like BitTorrent but with always 8 seeders to serve your needs. When 1 Vaults goes offline, the other 7 will find a new one as fast as possible.
  • Safecoin is next when we have stable vaults on a stable network. We'll see test-Safecoin first. Transactions are expected to finalize under a second. There's no scaling problem as well like with blockchains as SAFE uses a different protocol. Hundreds to thousands of transactions a second will be possible.
  • "Node Ageing" is a protocol where nodes (Vaults) join the network in a secure manner. It will kill slow and corrupt nodes.
  • Farming is what mining is for blockchain networks. It means joining the network, delivering and storing chunks and route data. You get paid Safecoin when you deliver a chunk of data from your Vault.
  • "Archive Nodes" will allow the network to fully crash (like with a worldwide power blackout) and come back online with all data available again. Archive Nodes will store all the data from a group and a "datachain" containing all the hashes from bigger parts of the network.

Hope this gives some idea about the current status of SAFE and the upcoming releases. I'm mostly looking forward to the new Vaults. The team said in November that this is their primary focus: delivering Vaults to the community again. I guess it will be called TEST 12 and it should be there in the coming weeks as they're being tested over the last few weeks.

There was a little update by Maidsafe's Nick Lambert about the collaboration between Glasgow University and Maidsafe the company.

Looks like the first students will touch the SAFE APIs and code in Q1 2017.
Quote
Lecturer in Software Engineering and Information Security, Dr Inah Omoronyia confirmed “It’s a great opportunity for our students at Glasgow University to get hands-on experience with building apps for the SAFE network. Security and privacy functions is now core to modern day software systems; our students are really excited to learn new ways of building such systems using cutting-edge technology.”

https://blog.maidsafe.net/2016/09/29/glasgow-university-students-to-use-the-safe-network/

And according to this article around 170 students will develop for/on the SAFE Network.

http://futurescot.com/university-glasgow-adopts-next-generation-internet-technology/

My guess is they will use these dev-tutorials to build Apps and connect/interact with the SAFE Network

https://tutorials.safedev.org/

These tutorials cover things like: email, websites with comments, WebRTC video/chat and a markdown editor. Let's hope we'll see some great applications come out of it.

240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: December 25, 2016, 12:16:28 PM
I understand that we will be able to trade MaidSafeCoin for Safecoins once everything is functional but I want to know how much coins were sold during the ICO ? I don't think It's 450 million otherwise farming wouldn't make any sense.
Is the website subject to translations too ? I can do that If It's helps but I can't find the source code for it to make a pull request. IMO , the project is doing just fine but there is definitely a lack of advertisement , they could run a signature campaign and bounties-translations programs  and that would've make it much better.

Yes, Maidsafecoins can be traded for Safecoin on a 1-on-1 basis when Farming and Safecoin are implemented and tested. Each Safecoin has it's own address in 32-bit so the max number is 4.3 billion in total. During the crowdfund something went wrong with the mastercoin protocol that should've prevented the creation more than 430 million coins. So due to an error 450 million Maidsafecoins were created before the "stop" signal/transaction got into a block. So a bit more than 10% of the maximum number of possible "Safecoins" is out there. Farming won't create new coins that fast is my expectation. Especially when more people try to farm them by providing resources to the network. It will bring down the Farming Reward per MB of data. So the network should balance out independent from the price of a Safecoin. We'll have test_Safecoin tested for quite some time before the real thing is implemented. Farming will be tested as well.

At this moment no translations going for the website as far as I know. But Maidsafe formed a joint venture in Hong Kong this year so who knows what's coming.
