I still didn't get the answers to my 2 questions?
So this is for a friendly bump of a member who looking for answers Smiley
222  Other / Meta / Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members on: August 07, 2018, 06:14:43 PM
This was the project I never accomplished but wanted to do.
Thanks for this. I'll check those accounts, as soon as I can Smiley
That's what I actually wanted too, some of the members are actually worth to rank up ASAP. However some of the members didn't active recently and some of them even got tagged by DT members.
223  Other / Meta / Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members on: August 07, 2018, 05:56:46 PM
Isn't this list much easier to scrape those users?

The ones with 9 Merit got me thinking: I don't think this list is complete, right?[/url]
This list(which I scraped from DdmrDdmr) is complete. I think you missed the Note - 2 in my post at the bottom Wink

Quote
I count 203 accounts with 9 Merit, and 1850 accounts with 10 Merit. That can't be a coincidence, does it mean 8 out of 9 Members have been trading Merit?
Yeah that's an interesting stat, I think we should analyse more before getting to any conclusion.( I am a believer of Merit trading users also to be tagged if staff can identify clear cut cases)

Quote

I couldn't resist, here's more data
(based on last Friday's Merit data dump. Note: I didn't check for Activity):

<...snip...>

And also I think you missed  one part when you list down Merit transaction data. The initial Merit (airdoped Merits) also considered when I listing above members.

I can't wait to get my PC back online to play a little with your database.
I just want to list all the users with 9 , 99, 249,... etc. merit and some other fun stats.

This is the motivation where I started to think about why we can't scraped the Merit data which iasenko searched, from available data in Bitcointalk Merit dashboard, prepared by DdmrDdmr (I called him as stat guru in bitcointalk forum Cheesy). So then he guided me how should I do this work. I manually scraped those stats from "Ranking-up pipe line tab" in the Merit dashboard. This list of members were tabulated according to the latest data available as at  30th July 2018 and I will update this thread when Merit data dashboard updated by "DdmrDdmr".

Update 10 - List of Members were updated from the latest data available 19th October 2018

225  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's Merit data analysis on: August 07, 2018, 06:38:25 AM
So is there any bug in the tool or calculations?
There is a bug, and it's something I've been to lazy to fix for quite a while now.

My plan was to calculate the starting merit only once, and store it. What it does, however, is calculate the starting merit each time, based on an old profile download and new Merit data. The result is a lower value for the starting merit.
I'll fit it, some day Tongue
Nice to see you're going to fix that bug because now I can see the problem has been changed a bit (That means LoyceV's laziness is gone away Cheesy). BTW why can't we add the modulus of two parts (Initial merit and the Earned Merit). I know you can do it since you're the "stat man", after "DdmrDdmr" who i normally called as "stat guru'
226  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard on: August 07, 2018, 06:24:53 AM
Hey...I'm really big fan of your work. I just wanted to know how can get the details of members having 9, 99, 249, 499 Merits? Wink

When I checked my Merit data with your dashboard, it shows that I got 2 initial merits, which actually incorrect. So is there any incorrect details in the raw data or bug in the dashboard? Because LoyceV's Merit data analysis also has the same issue but with a different way.

227  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SMART CONTRACTS, simply explained... on: August 06, 2018, 08:39:00 PM
I just wanted to make a public apology for getting you tempbanned.
It's okay. Are we cool now? Wink. Actually it happened(auto banned thing)so quickly while  I'm writing my explanation for what you claimed.

Quote
In my defense, your wording is a bit confusing in the top post. While you do link the source of where you transcribed this content from, the "I would like to shared that content with you" part made it sound like you just wanted to share the video, and not the actual content of it.

I think that in the future, it's important to indicate that you've transcribed content, as a simple google search revealed that your content is very similar to an existing article on the web.
Lesson learnt and pardon me for my English is not having top notch like yours. Because English is not my native language. I added the word "transcribed" to my vocabulary and I will use it surely.(actually that's what I want to said in the first place in my thread, but it seems like I missed the right word for it )

I just shared transcribed the content of video only because some users didn't like to be viewers but, readers. Wink

How about plagiarism check instead of just Google search. Sometimes simple Google search didn't work.

Either way, I'm sorry for getting you banned. And thanks for not breaking the rules lol
I will not breaking any rules in future too and I'm a well wisher of this forum. Today I have learnt another lesson regarding forum..

That`s quite simple: do not take things too personally. There are some people here really suffering from some contrarious quotes. This is a huge site with a lot of minds, so do not take anything too personally or too serious. That`s, for me, the magic formula  Cool

P.S.- can I participate your rounds of Merit competition?
228  Other / Meta / Just a suggestion from a Member... on: August 06, 2018, 03:59:57 PM
When I reading ( I normally read a lot) through bitcointalk forum, I just found a valuble thread named Is it possible to understand bitcoin deeply without having an IT background? in Ivory tower board. Then I found this little gem, Mastering Bitcoin shared by bitmover and I go through the first chapter of that book. After reading the first chapter of that Mastering Bitcoin book, there were two things I still didn't got understood.

  • Why Bitcoin network specially choosen the 10 minute period for allowing the decentralized network to validate a transaction through consensus process?
  • Why Bitcoin address always starts with 1 and 3?

I tried to ask these two questions in that thread but then I noticed it's not allowed to post "member rank" too (even though board mentioned "full members members and above only").

Another thing I would liked to shared is every new members should go and read posts in those boards at least once a day (Serious discussion and Ivory tower ). Because it will helps a lot to improve English knowledge also while gaining vast knowledge about different fields(it's not just about crypto).

Why staff can manually whitelist or put some threshold earned Merit requirement for members who wish to post "Ivory tower" board. Because there are some members whose having lots of initial (airdropped) Merits, but doesn't interested to post those boards at all.

P.S.- I don't think spammers or shitposters even thinking about posting in Ivory tower since posts are not counted and no signature campaigns there.
229  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Where does the "will" come? on: August 06, 2018, 07:53:02 AM
Schopenhauer referred to asceticism as the denial of the will to live.
I don't want to discuss Schopenhauer's philosophy and his interpretations regarding asceticism. I just want to discuss what Buddhism taught us about Will and how we should control ours Will. Controlling ours Will doesn't mean that we should avoid all forms of indulgences, but be knowing about Will and living without getting attached to the Will. Otherwise what will happen is being left in sad as an end result of if we lost the thing that we desired to get. I don't know the exact English word for peoples who "Living without attached to the Will, but knowing about all the truth about the Will".

Quote
The will to power ... is a prominent concept in the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. The will to power describes what Nietzsche may have believed to be the main driving force in humans – achievement, ambition, and the striving to reach the highest possible position in life.
The will to power concept of Friedrich Nietzsche's is another concept. That's not talking about Will, it's about how humans drive their Will to achieve the highest possible position in life. I want to discuss how humans Will behaves after being climbed on the top? do you think humans Will just end in there? I don't think so. Then we need to think about why humans are striving to reach the highest possible position in life with huge sacrifice throughout their life cycle, even they didn't get any satisfaction at the end.
230  Other / Serious discussion / Where does the "will" come? on: August 05, 2018, 11:29:01 AM
If it's from the eye, a desire for picture begins when I can make a will on it, something that I saw or the moment I get the idea of what I saw remains as I want.

If it's from the nose, a desire for smell begins when I can make a will on it, something that I smelled or the moment I get the idea of what I smelled to remains as I want.

If it's from the tongue, a desire for taste begins when I can make a will on it, something that I tasted or the moment I get the idea of what I tasted remains as I want.

If it's from the body, a desire for touch begins when I can make a will on it, something that I touched or the moment I get the idea of what I touched remains as I want.

If it's from the mind, a desire for imagination begins when I can make a will on it, something that I imagined or the moment I get the idea of what I imagined remains as I want.

I just want to know what other members thinking about the "will", how it's born and do we need to attach to the "Will"?
231  Other / Meta / Re: How recognized are you in the bitcointalk world? on: August 05, 2018, 06:15:28 AM
For consideration:
If you're counting the initial (airdropped) Merit, which was based on Activity, aren't you double counting Activity?
If new ranking system implememented and based on the suggestion of @LoyceV, it should only take earned merits into considerations.
Automatically allocated merits at the launch day of merit system makes non-sense. Why? Because the allocated merits based on activity-count and the potential new ranking system should avoid overlaps between activity counts and merit counts.
Contributions of forum users should mainly base on earned merits, not total merits - which include both allocated merits and earn merits.
I don't agree with your suggestion. We cant measure the contribution of forum users only looking at their earned merits. Even though Merit system introduced recently, that doesn't mean members who are active (active and contributed as well) way before the implementation of Merits weren't contributed to the forum at all. We can't take that part entirely from the total picture.

Instead of that suggestion, I would like to suggest if we can put a weighting factor for initial (airdropped) Merits when taking account into the calculations of contribution rank would be fair.

My suggestion is 0.75(Weighting factor) for earned merits and 0.25(Weighting factor) for initial merits.
232  Other / Meta / Re: How to remain calm and cool on Bitcointalk ? - Question on: August 05, 2018, 04:05:43 AM
Stay away from bounty and airdrops
Don't cheat or steal
Don't ask the questions by starting a thread which has been answered several times
Not for this thread

That`s quite simple: do not take things too personally. There are some people here really suffering from some contrarious quotes. This is a huge site with a lot of minds, so do not take anything too personally or too serious. That`s, for me, the magic formula  Cool
Yeah, I know how you cool down me when I had some disagreement with mods regarding Locking the threads?

BTW what is that jajaja part? still, I didn't understand what it's all about Huh
233  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's Merit data analysis on: August 05, 2018, 03:43:06 AM
Great work LoyceV Smiley
When i go through the Usernames Full list* (6 MB) of data and I have found that some users Merit data(what got from your tool) doesn't match with the actual ones. It shows that some users start their Merit career with (-) Merits Huh

Code:
947848: max2607 (history): started with: -6 Merit, earned: 22 Merit and now has: 16 Merit.
957461: fresheneesz (history): started with: -2 Merit, earned: 3 Merit and now has: 1 Merit
974965: BivanF (history): started with: -6 Merit, earned: 10 Merit and now has: 4 Merit.
976210: nullius (history): started with: -17 Merit, earned: 742 Merit and now has: 725 Merit.
.....
.....
1418483: tringt (history): started with: -11 Merit, earned: 36 Merit and now has: 25 Merit.

However, Merit history of "max2607" (any user) shows the actual Merit count when we add the total received Merits. So is there any bug in the tool or calculations?
234  Other / Meta / Re: Corruption and prejudgment of the moderator Xandry on: August 04, 2018, 03:10:43 PM
Xandry (moderator of russian section and member of DT1/DT2 trustnet) left a negative feedback where is blamed me that I sells my account based on topic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=555901.0) which was created 4 years ago! What a nonsense?

I want to remind there were no ICO, no bounty, no account sells, even no Xandry on this forum back in the day.
Wether "Xandry" on this forum or not, wether that thread created long time ago or not, should not have any affect at all with you're being tagged. But if you're selling your account then get caught by DT member and left negative trust on you is only because of your actions, it's nothing to do with "Xandry".

Quote
As for Xandry person, we were against his appointment as moderator: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=961364.190

We believe that he's not an objective moderator who uses his provisions to solve personal grievances. Moreover being a "merit source" he using his merit for promotion his connected accounts (e.g. "esmanthra"): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1764764
I don't know wether that account you're claimed has any connection between "Xandry" or not, but when I looking the Merits received (only checked the history of last 120 days) for that member it seems like there may be some connection. Because there are 101 instances that "esmanthra" got Merited by other members while 52 instances by Xandry. When we compare the probability of "esmanthra" being merited by Xandry is 51.5% and the funny thing about is more than half (actually 30 out of 52) of Merited posts are being deleted /ignored/off- limits. That's not good stats for being a Merit source.

At the end of the day I think it's better to get a hearing from Xandry regarding these claims.

It took almost six months of analysis to calculate what formula would give me the best rating.  Smiley
You should add points for anybody with an upper case V in their name Cheesy
How about adding points for anybody with an upper case "v" as their first letter of name Cheesy
236  Other / Meta / Re: Paid Posting in BCT on: August 04, 2018, 09:58:49 AM
We need a list so that I can ignore them. Smiley
Hey "JC" can I get your ignore list? I think you have the longest Wink

How about getting a ignore list of a well-established member and restore that file to ours like copying contacts from a sim card to another phone. Isn't that great? (just my thought only)

I think this whole ANN[1] Bounty thread to be deleted (now it has 147 pages) or all the posts of airdrop participants to be deleted. This is the shittiest airdrop campaign I have seen in a long time in bitcointalk. Because it says, participants should be shared their referral link in the thread. I consider all those participants as just underworld spammers and don't have any desire to add value to the forum. The OP of that ANN[2] Bounty thread don't have any clue about forum rules and other members just blindly follows OP for few shitcoins.

How to Participate in the Airdrop
<...snip...>
4. Reply to this thread in the following format:

Code:
#Cloudbric Airdrop
Telegram Profile: <Telegram Username>
Twitter Profile: <Link to Twitter>
Referral Link: <Referral Link>

This is how official unofficial forum rule stated in 2014

<...snip...>
4. No referral code (ref link) spam. [1]
<...snip...>

This is how recently global mod see this problem and it seems rule has to be tightened more since this evil spreading all over the forum.

Thank you for bringing this very urgent matter to our attention. Ref links are truly one of the greatest evils on the forum and should be removed immediately without fail.

One new newbie on top 1000 with this change.
nessie.io:
Posts:   8
Activity:   8
Merit:   148

He received 148 merits in this topic: Nessie.io - Exchange with Seamless Access to Digital Wallet & Gaming Services

50 from Dogedigital
20 from AcoinL.L.C
Yeah this is called ANN marketing and I have already created a thread regarding this issue also. I'm believer(unfortunately most of them aren't) of not awarding any sMerits for the posts in ANN sections.

Hi guys

<.. snip..>

Hi..to be honest, above bolded two words are the only part I can read and understand in your post since it's like a poem( however it doesn't have any rhyme). So next time when you're trying to express some kind of an idea, make sure you do it with  suitable text paragraph and try to create sentences as simple as possible unless your English is top notch. Because that will create a bad initial impression towards your idea which you're going to express.(I'm not saying I'm good at English but I'm learning and simple sentences working for me)

BTW you just started your thoughts and expressing it all along 22 lines and stopped with dot.
239  Other / Meta / Re: Can't reply in forum on: August 03, 2018, 05:46:05 PM
Well it looks like you can. You probably just need to make sure you wait six minutes before you post.
Unless you're whitelisted by staff or paid few bucks to get copper membership.

BTW OP is some kind of hurry to posting Cheesy don't hurry  fellow, just get some deep breath and read some of the sticky notes before posting.
240  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [hMerits] What will happen to Bitcoin if the ETF applications are granted? on: August 03, 2018, 04:42:40 PM
I think when people heard the word of "ETF",(Exchange Traded Fund) suddenly goes back and analyse how gold price moves upward dramatically with the introduction of ETF for Gold market. I believe we can't do that comparison due to few reasons such as different market place, different asset class, different time etc.

However if SEC has granted ETF application means removal of liquidity constraints, more accessibility can be happened. That would surely do some kind of positive impact on price of Bitcoin(actually other Altcoins too), but   we can't expect long bull run like gold had. People still searching the answers for problems like safe storage, hacking when it's coming to the cryptocurrency.
