I've used Bitcoin Central. Getting registered took over a week, having to continually upload documents to them.
Then transferring money into my account there took 3 days whcih seems overly long.
They only transfer bitcoins out once a day, I don't know if this is standard practice for once of these sites.
I'd use them again as they seem secure but avoid them if you are in a hurry.

Well, what do you want out of Bitcoin? Do you want to use it? Mine it? Invest in it?

I started at - https://www.weusecoins.com/en/

I like that, short and simple.

For me, I used to mine LTC but the profit per day was around $1 ish at 400KHash/s with the old version of cudaminer. Recently I switched to DOGE since the difficulty was way lower and had some good potential given it's popularity. At this time, I calculated around $13-20 profit a day at 770 KHash/s with my two 670s and a 6850.

I'm mining LTC right now, I think LTC has a really solid design, and in fact might prove to be better than BTC in the long run. With respect to DOGE I thought it was all just a meme and a joke. Smiley
I'm willing to give it a go - where do you mine it, and how can you convert it to BTC/LTC? What is the best site to do that?

Hi asenski,
Try coins-e for exchanging btc/ltc to other crypto currencies

Hi,

I'm joining because I want to get involved in this community. It intrigues me, but I literally have no idea what I'm doing. I have the Coinye Wallet and DogeCoin Wallet. I've been gathering coins through faucets, but I really want to figure out the whole mining aspect of cryptocurrency. I'm a real idiot, so any help is appreciated. Love the community here.

Hi snackpackzack,
Try the MultiBit website, look at their FAQ pages, everything you need to know is there.

Cry Grin Burgerking, BigM, KFC, Pizza Hutt ,Starbucks, why did they accept Bitcoin?
Might work as a take-away as that'll give them time for the transfer to go through??

Hi,

To get acquainted with the whole concept of mining I found the best place for information was MultiBit and their FAQ place.  It's like a mining for dummies guide whcih I found really useful and easy to read. Embarrassed
The best miner I found was Asteroid.  It's very easy and quick to set up.  I was mining in a few minutes after downloading it.  It says it's geared up for Bit and Lite but I'm mining spots on it just fine.
Good luck!

Consider whether governments have interest in fostering crypto currencies or not...
Isn't that what Ripple is all about?

HI,
I am here for the first time and do not know anything. Prompt where to start

Hi dsergeevich,

Best and clearest information I found was at MultiBit, go to their FAQ pages, everything you need to know is written out in a sort of dummies-guide kind of a way.
