......

It's hard. Posts like these are confusing especially when you have PPP ad.
......

I don't smoke.  Tongue

Is anyone else shocked at this?

Those posts are not considered by the bitmixer campaign. So there is no confusion in this case.

If the seller's other account got banned so will be yours. You took that risk when you bought it.

I checked, his account hasn't been banned.

Not only his account, but any of his accounts which he is selling, or he has sold and was banned. All connected accounts will face the ban.

This is an issue if you are buying an account. You don't know how many times it has been banned, and if any other account of the seller, whether it is still in the seller's hands or sold gets banned then yours get banned too. Even worse, your main accounts then can get caught in it.

Conversely, if you bought an account and spammed with you the seller is in trouble. There is no way of knowing if the account was actually sold or faked.

Best thing to do, make your own account and contribute.
Well, it would have made sense if a ban happened before, but it doesn't make sense why the ban happened right now. I haven't been spamming, so why was it banned ?

225  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Selling bitcointalk.org accounts Update March 18 on: March 19, 2015, 08:44:38 AM
How do you handle account bans? If someone buys your account and gets banned, then all the accounts get compromised as there is no way to know for sure that the account was really sold.
226  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Account Hacked and Return by Admins on: March 19, 2015, 08:41:18 AM
LOBSTER got his account back. In the period when it was stuck, he was posting with a new account which was merged immediately increasing his rank to Hero.

I think he is banned now.

229  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gebbit | DO NOT USE - SCAM - NO ID on: March 16, 2015, 09:12:23 AM
A startup exchange with hardly any userbase trying to get photo ID verification. It may be the correct way but users will choose another, there is no dearth of exchanges.

IMO gebbit is going about it the wrong way, but then it is their business they must have some experience.
230  Economy / Services / Re: AskCoin.net - SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN on: March 16, 2015, 09:07:35 AM
Today posts are counted?? I'm not reached the 25 posts

To avoid confusion, all participants who want to change campaign, please hold signatures to 20:00 UTC - then will be monitored posts and signatures.

It quite clearly means posts will be counted at 20:00 UTC. So you still have time now.
231  Other / Meta / Re: Does Bitcointalk have traffic problems? The forum is loading very slow. on: March 12, 2015, 09:29:17 AM
Sometimes it goes to Page not Found for me. Have to keep refreshing and it works on the 3rd try at the most.

Me too. Which browser are you using? I am using Safari. I tried refreshing few times but it didn't come for me and I don't think it is browser's problem as I can open it via VPN. I am still wondering how it opened when I used VPN.

Chrome.

It mostly works. Only once in a while it gives the message.

Hi I am new here I was just wondering if selling accounts is allowed on this site. From some of the posts it seems like is some like it is not.

Yes. You can sell accounts. In fact, Quickseller sells accounts. If you wanted to buy accounts, he has a whole range of them.

actually my inventory is running very low and will likely stop selling once I sell what I have

That is not surprising. You appear to value misrepresntation. even lying, before anything else. Word speads.

Care to elaborate? Besides the one case which attracted a lot of attention, I haven't seen any other accusation against Quickseller. Whatever was his reason for getting into this business, I feel he is not comfortable doing it anymore. The market slowing down may have contributed too.

It happens to me sometimes. I overcome this problem by using VPN. Sometimes BT won't even open. There mightbe some problem with specific locations. If not, then it shouldn't be working with VPN for me.

234  Economy / Services / Re: Need someone to make constructive posts on my accounts on: March 11, 2015, 03:00:50 PM
Desperate attempt from someone with too many accounts and afraid of bans. Sell some accounts and use only the higher ranked ones. The plan you are thinking of trying to minimize your loss is not going to work.
235  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] SR MEMBER ACCOUNT on: March 11, 2015, 02:21:09 PM
Whenever buying an account, keep in mind that most the accounts which are sold have been used to farm signature campaigns, and have chance of having been banned. This means it may get a long or permanent ban even with the first offense.
236  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: March 11, 2015, 02:14:14 PM
Bit-x has reduced its pay rates.

Where it is posted ? If it is some where please provide us the link, and dont post if you dont know about any thing. I think its the bug in the site and it will be corrected soon.
I have a feeling the person who posted that is Marcotheminer announcing the reduction. This is obviously speculation but it would make sense. I don't think you can edit your posts when you are banned.

He can edit the signature, which he has been doing.

If the reduction is correct and not an error in the bot it might indicate that Bit-x is not gaining as much as they had expected.
237  Other / Meta / Re: Separate sub forum for "Signature Campaigns" on: March 09, 2015, 08:23:49 AM
I had this suggestion yesterday.

The main problem is due to campaigns which pay based on post count as it is too tempting to post to increase income. If the forum sets up rules which doesn't allow this then spam will reduce significantly.

I think there should be a sub board for signature campaigns, and they will follow strict rules like they can only ask for a maximum of, say, 20 posts/month and they can't provide bonus or preferential treatment based on post count. The campaign managers would be made accountable if they fail to enforce the rules.
238  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion of nyktalgia's purchased account on: March 09, 2015, 08:21:25 AM
Removal of trust for sold accounts shouldn't be done. In that case someone can scam, and then sell the account for good money knowing that the buyer can get rid off the negative trust.

Any buyer of negative trust accounts should get negative trust as they are helping a scammer.
239  Other / Meta / Re: Marcotheminer the Ban Evader on: March 08, 2015, 12:14:54 PM
What are you confused about? Obviously BadBear didn't buy it and I don't see how you could get confused into thinking that he might have done.

Badbear said, "Looks like it's been sold to me."

I'm confused how you could think that means he might have bought it. He has info on IPs and computers used so he can see when it's likely to have been sold by the change in details.

It was meant as a joke.
240  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for free escrow service on: March 08, 2015, 11:30:10 AM
I can escrow for free too Smiley
Just started providing escrow 2 days ago though.

The idea behind an escrow is to have someone trusted to hold the money. Sorry to say, you don't even come close to the required criteria.
