221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 18, 2018, 09:29:41 PM
1500 is still a high amount considering where bitcoin started from and how many people got in under $10.

So... ok... how many? Do you know the number, and where did you get it from?
I really doubt there is any considerable number of such people now, as there were so many temptations to sell them in the way to $100, $1000, $10000 and so on.

No, seriously, this is an interesting question: does anyone here know somebody who got their bitcoins under $10 and still holds them?
Or may be better way to ask the same - is there somebody who spent less that $10 per Bitcoin they own currently?
There are many oldtimers in this thread, so I assume this is a one of the best places to ask this question.

I know a few people that got in under $10 that are still holding a fair amount of coins.  I was late to the party because I didn't like how the creator of bitcoin was anonymous and was holding about 1 million coins himself.  One person owning over 5% of total supply seemed very unfair.  That being said I still made a nice amount of money that has changed my life.  I'm not a nocoiner but my holdings are very small at this point and I'm playing it safe with more diversification.

People can call me a troll or whatever but I honestly think bitcoin will go under $2k.

You change your mind a lot in a very short span of time!

Yes I know, its one of my downfalls.  I am a very emotional person and don't be shocked if I change my mood about bitcoin in a few months but from what I've seen the future doesn't look too bright.

ya its true the government can dump unlimited fiat, but the US government isn't just going to implode the economy and create another Venezuela.  The elites would never let this happen.
224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 18, 2018, 08:14:31 PM
Ya ok..........and all the people were saying we will never see bitcoin below 15k again, and then we will never see bitcoin below 10k again.  and it already nearly hit 5k.

1500 is still a high amount considering where bitcoin started from and how many people got in under $10.   Bitcoin does havfe a use, acts as a digital bearer bond and you are in complete control of your money.  Well the thing is the majority of people (over 99%) don't care about any of this and would rather use a bank.  I used to be a strong believer but this whole thing is just another dot.com crash all over again but without the rebound.

Doesn't mt gox still have a bunch of coins to dump?

Also there is a very real threat of Satoshi's 1 million bitcoins.  Who the hell knows what will happen and maybe he will dump those eventually.

Yeah, back to 6500 is my guess.

back to 1500 is my guess

good guess maybe go make a thread for that somewhere...............

Ok your totally right, we are going ultra bull mode and bitcoin will go back over 20k, hell it will even go over 500k just like the prophet John Mcafee predicted.

227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 18, 2018, 07:23:47 PM
sell before its too late, this shitcoin is going back under $10.

That would mean the whole market tanks, which makes coin A as worthless as coin B--so unless you have another form of digital cash that doesn't exist in crypto, I'm not buying what you're selling. Do you have quantum money for sale?

sold all my crypto this whole thing is just a giant scam, get out before its too late.

But yet, you are still here

Could you imagine how sad your life would have to be to get out of something, and then weeks, months, years later, still be commenting on a forum about it? "Yes, I quit video gaming months ago, but here's my comment on what a waste of time it is..."

I used to be optimistic about cryptocurrency but I'm come to the realization that this whole thing is just a giant ponzi scheme.  Warren Buffet was right all along.  This downtrend will continue until these internet coins are essentially worthless.

I'm only hanging around to mostly warn others so they can at least salvage some of their money.

So this project failed miserably.

Monero is a shitcoin, convert this shit to bitcoin and other promising alts before its too late.  I dumped my monero bags, this coin has no future.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: October 20, 2018, 05:43:06 PM
Raven is just another overhyped shitcoin, it serves no purpose except to make the devs and early adopters rich.  Just another pump and dump coin.  Sell while you still can.
234  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why didn't satoshi use PoW for something else? on: October 20, 2018, 10:37:57 AM
I think there is a consensus that maintaining the Bitcoin network is wasting too much energy, and such criticism comes often from people who don't have a hidden agenda and are well-disposed towards Bitcoin.

No, definitely not.

The energy is not 'wasted'. It is needed to secure the whole network.

I don't understand why people think it wastes 'too much energy'. It is just a small small fraction of what the banking sector needs.

Also, how should the network be secured if the energy wouldn't be 'wasted' to secure it ?

Sure, we could easily shrink the energy consumption / hashrate to 1/10th of the current. But this would also mean that the network is 10 times less secured against an attacker.
And this also means that 10 confirmations then are worth as much as 1 confirmation is worth now..

Climate change is very real and we need to cut our energy use wherever we can.  Bitcoin is still old technology, I'm sure new cryptos will be created in the future that are more secure and use up less energy.
235  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] Bitplay.Club Signature Campaign | Hero/Legendary Members | $50/Week! on: October 20, 2018, 10:30:57 AM
Why was I removed from the campaign? I completed 21 posts as per the requirements.

Your spreadsheet clearly states that the week period ends on the 17th of October, I made all my posts before this final date.

You had not once I finalized the report. You made 7 posts after the fact and then it was too late, sorry.

Then why did the spreadsheet say the week includes the 17th of October? This is your mistake, at the very least you should send me the payment even if you are removing me.

I completed the work according to the information presented to me. If you are not counting posts made on the 17th October, then you also can't count ones made on the 10th of October as it appears that both days are included in the week duration according to your spreadsheet;

Your really crying over 50 dollars? Are you really that poor, grow up man.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 20, 2018, 12:54:11 AM
Monero is a shitcoin, don't be left holding bags

Don't fall for the stupid hype.  This is just another altcoin that will die out while bitcoin remains the king.

$1m won't even buy a house in the big cities ( Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco)

I know there are a lot of third worlders on this forum that think $1m usd is a lot of money but it really isn't.

When ham hocks

I got my bitcoins locked and my yacht docked.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost $350k / 54 BTC gambling, need help :( on: October 18, 2018, 11:53:22 PM
I despise gambling and I'm glad you at least have something left. Casinos are predatory and I truly hate them.  I realize a lot of members here shill for gambling sites so they can make a few fractions of a bitcoin but I really wish they would stop advertising here.

One million isn't really a lot but at least you still have more than the majority of people in the world.  In the end we all die anyways, money is just numbers on a computer screen.

I recently saw a vid on youtube about the biggest gambling losses and some of these whales would lose ten million in a single session, its insane.
