1500 is still a high amount considering where bitcoin started from and how many people got in under $10.
So... ok... how many? Do you know the number, and where did you get it from? I really doubt there is any considerable number of such people now, as there were so many temptations to sell them in the way to $100, $1000, $10000 and so on. No, seriously, this is an interesting question: does anyone here know somebody who got their bitcoins under $10 and still holds them? Or may be better way to ask the same - is there somebody who spent less that $10 per Bitcoin they own currently? There are many oldtimers in this thread, so I assume this is a one of the best places to ask this question. I know a few people that got in under $10 that are still holding a fair amount of coins. I was late to the party because I didn't like how the creator of bitcoin was anonymous and was holding about 1 million coins himself. One person owning over 5% of total supply seemed very unfair. That being said I still made a nice amount of money that has changed my life. I'm not a nocoiner but my holdings are very small at this point and I'm playing it safe with more diversification. People can call me a troll or whatever but I honestly think bitcoin will go under $2k.

But my average price (cost) per Bitcoin is around $1000.

Nicely set up technical break out. First breaking weak downward green trendline then snapping through long term blue downward trend line. Unfortunately this is a bear market so break out not sustained.
The super long term trend line from $2 (shown in purple sloping upwards) was not challenged. I think the purple line will be very hard to break from the downside. I think we will never break it again. Fortunately it is moving very fast and will be in the stratosphere within a month so no concern of ours.
the fact we have not had any major bouncebacks smells like another sideways for the coming weeks. Even with such a nice RSI.... :/ Any thoughts on if this might be another prelude to an imminent drop? I feel like MACD is looking too suspiciously positioned. Its going to do another 180° and plummet with the next bollinger contraction and breakout into the dirt.

I would like to hear people’s stories about how they first heard about Bitcoin ?
I read about it in Wired Magazine in early 2013. I was familiar with gold farming in WOW so it didn’t seem too outlandish. It took a second mention in the media in November 2013 for me to pay attention and find this forum on google.

I knew about it at the beginning of 2011, one of my friends that played runescape was heavily into bitcoin. I should of takenhis advice at the time. He is worth over 20 million now I didn't own any substantial amount of bitcoin until 2012. Even though this guy is fairly rich he is still quite unhappy though. Just goes to show that money really can't buy happiness.

My first time hearing about bitcoin was late 2012, early 2013 from a friend who was always looking for a get rich quick scheme. I didn’t pay him much attention, since his schemes never seemed to work. Later in 2013 I heard again, but this time from a wealthy friend. This friend owned a Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini (and several other nice cars) as well as a few houses. That’s when I took a serious look, and I started mining soon after. P.S. I was also a WoW gold farmer some time before lol

Ya ok..........and all the people were saying we will never see bitcoin below 15k again, and then we will never see bitcoin below 10k again. and it already nearly hit 5k.
1500 is still a high amount considering where bitcoin started from and how many people got in under $10. Bitcoin does havfe a use, acts as a digital bearer bond and you are in complete control of your money. Well the thing is the majority of people (over 99%) don't care about any of this and would rather use a bank. I used to be a strong believer but this whole thing is just another dot.com crash all over again but without the rebound.
Doesn't mt gox still have a bunch of coins to dump?
Also there is a very real threat of Satoshi's 1 million bitcoins. Who the hell knows what will happen and maybe he will dump those eventually.
^This guy's post looks like he just took "how to shill for Bitmain or the Jews at Goldman cointelpro 101". Like I said before, nobody should sell anything so you have plenty of coins to dump on the kikes if they try to pump and dump it higher. Maybe he's right and shitcoins go lower, but you making or losing money doesn't matter. All that matters is ruining any kike schemes possible and eventually expelling them from every nation on earth. Shitcoins are completely valueless, imaginary tokens - the ultimate pump and dump scam, so they attract Jews like flies to shit. The plan is to make sure their life is miserable the second they fly in and attempt to land on the shit by having as many shoeshine boys as possible hodl to dump on them.

And yeah - free heat in the wintertime is good, but all the heat during hot summertime isn't fun... with all the efforts/spending for cooling them. Do you want to tell you still keep the bitcoins you mined for few cents, and your average price per Bitcoin is less than $10? An important note: take into account the amount of time you spent to get your bitcoins, which include mining setup/maintenance, trading time, reading news from all the different sources, participation in forums (heh ) and so on... Time is money... actually - much more than money... ehh. If I don't count all that "labor costs", my average cost per BTC is really low, but when I take that into account, I feel like I have worked hard / spent a lot to get them...

I was playing bakbakrakiki on the 9th moon or Eldroonor the gamblers kept mentioning bitcoin. I won a big hand and the guy paid me off with this time cube. Supposed to give me more time, I fiddled with it a bit and it transported me to my current job in Morrisons Salford. I am waiting for my turn at reductions. That seems to be the key according to ziggy. The old lady comes on Wednesdays.

Hash war estimated costs live update
If one assumes the hashrate is leased, we estimate the protagonists have spent $6.7m in leasing fees since the split, generating combined gross losses of $4.6m. It is only a matter of time until this pointless battle ends.https://twitter.com/BitMEXResearch/status/1064293353938915328

I would like to hear people’s stories about how they first heard about Bitcoin ?
I was hanging out on a distributed computing forum. As I recall we were all pissed at Stanford at the time as they were pointsgimping the AMD 4P systems that a lot of dedicated folders had significant investment wrapped up in (aside, there was this munchbucket 7im drove a bunch of us away...fuck you 7im!). One day (found the thread, March 2011, 1BTC=$0.78) some guy wandered in, and posted up a thread asking if bitcoin was frowned upon in our forum. We were like, WTF is bitcoin? He gave a brief explanation and 80% of the guys were all "scam, tulips, never work, criminal, GTFO". I was a silver stacker from way back so I got it right away. There was, at that time, no "make money button" yet. You had to really grapple with the config to mine. At first it was beyond me and I gave up for a while but I was interested and kind of kept an eye on it. Some while later the GPU miners came out, probably laszlo's code, and I got a config running. There was a time I was pulling a coin a day with 2 6950s. Got Zhoutonged. Lost a bunch to BFL. Lost a bunch to Gox. Lost a bunch daytarding. edit/ wow, reading that old thread is surreal...thanks Hairy

The rich guy should learn to be a little selfless, focus on others a bit more with his 20m or however much. Doesnt have to be charity exactly but he can consider to invest in the right places and make a big difference. It might even cheer himself up a little I dont exactly agree with Warren Buffet but the sensible thing of buying gold or whatever solid value . It'll never give anything more then a completely passive return. Wheres enabling growth which BTC imo has a possibility to be part of, that can transform the world I would like to hear people’s stories about how they first heard about Bitcoin ?

Middle of 2011 and I did some mining on CPU and obviously I wish my brain had kicked into gear and I realised this had some relation to PGP in new effects and new technology on a software, protocol level & how this was a new horizon. I shouldnt have tried to guess will it be sucessfull, just the concept it had never been tried before. That alone should have been enough, instead I was like yea this takes forever just to get 0.1 btc and I didnt even save my mining proceeds. I did try gfx mining a few times, it was being a hassle so I gave up. Couple years later a load of us from mainstream computer forums were involved, actually mid or early summer 2013 it declined in profit taking as often BTC does. Calmed down alot and then took off again into the year end, making the TV just like last year. I presume momentum was abroad & a slight mystery to me, far east and to me I never was sure who was using it alot and only understood later China liked it. 2014 onwards the alt coin sector had alot more interest, many wanting to step onboard on day 1 with various ideas, variations the majority erroneous So say 100$+ was my price of entry back then, alot of users were miners first and speculating in hardware to in turn gain BTC. One guy I know rewired his whole house for mining in late 2013, if I'd been more serious in 2011 era I'd say that was the oldtimer Jurassic period you can qoute this post when it collapses which wont be that far from now A typical post from 2011

I actually 1st heard about BTC when price was around $5. I think it was that StumbleUpon app that landed me at the Bitcoin web page (I stumbled all over the farm back then) I seem to recall that I was kind of intrigued and my thought at the time was "huh, what the hell... I'll invest 50 bux and buy 10 of these things." So then I started browsing around on the bitcoin website trying to figure out how the hell you buy em . I gave up after awhile thinking "ahhhh fuckit! Not worth the hassle and anyway it's probably just another internet scam...." Yeah right...look how that worked out... I ended up buying like $100 worth at the end of 2013 (I figured it out by then) I think @ $600/ BTC or so, right before the pump to $1300. That basically got me hooked into BTC and mining and crypto in general.
