221  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: What is the BEST BTC pool? on: October 18, 2014, 05:43:39 AM
It depends on what's important to you. Do you prefer no fees? Do you prefer merged mining with multiple coins? There's no "best" pool.
222  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The Mining Incentive on: October 18, 2014, 05:31:20 AM
Thank you for your opinion; come again!

Just cuz you missed out on the early mining days doesn't mean you should be calling people criminals.
223  Economy / Services / Re: WHO CAN SETUP A POOL FOR ME? on: October 18, 2014, 05:30:33 AM
Have you tried p2pool?
http://p2pool.org/

Otherwise, you can easily join an existing pool pretty easily.
224  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [TUTORIAL] How to password protect your LKETC or any miner webpage? on: October 18, 2014, 12:16:10 AM

Doesn't seem to hard to do, without the need to download anything. Sure, it's not a perfect solution, but for protecting the miner website this should do: http://www.thesitewizard.com/apache/password-protect-directory.shtml
That looks a bit more trustworthy than what OP has posted. Thanks for the resource. Smiley
225  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Home mining turned out to be short lived on: October 18, 2014, 12:08:54 AM
Home mining isn't dead until the last home miner switches off their gear.

I am still mining at home.

Therefore home mining is not dead.
I'm home mining too, but I have free electricity. If I didn't, I'd sell the miner.

You mean your parents is paying the bills?
No. My rent includes electricity. But good guess lol

227  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What can you say about Cloud Mining? on: October 17, 2014, 03:14:06 AM
Gawminer also offers cloud hashing (see link in sig) and they may be worth looking at too, in order to make an informed decision.

Good luck.
228  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: mining on: October 17, 2014, 03:11:37 AM
Bitcoin is cheap, machines have decreased in price too, but not enough, so in my opinion, you're better off buying bitcoin instead of buying a miner. Unless, like was mentioned above, you have free electricity.
229  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New to bitcoin mining .. suggestions tips? on: October 17, 2014, 03:08:51 AM
I personally mine on eligius. They don't have any pool fees unlike btcguild and still include Namecoin merge mining.
230  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: October 17, 2014, 01:34:45 AM
It seems like the Black Arrow bot has been turned off. My post in the moderated thread hasn't been deleted for a while now.

Why was the warning removed from the news section, above the breadcrumbs?
232  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [TUTORIAL] How to password protect your LKETC or any miner webpage? on: October 16, 2014, 04:35:09 PM
What's contained in the zip file?

Yep, my confidence in this is rising  Roll Eyes
Good point... This could very well be a way to hijack LKETC machines..
233  Other / Meta / Re: POODLE vulnerability on: October 16, 2014, 05:19:08 AM
It seems never ending. Every other month some new vulnerability is discovered. This sucks
234  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [TUTORIAL] How to password protect your LKETC or any miner webpage? on: October 16, 2014, 05:12:26 AM
This is very useful, thanks. I wish that it was included by default since the majority of people probably won't take the time to go through this process.
235  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100T] - Technology Geeks - Bitcoin Pool - Testing NOMP - Please help out. on: October 16, 2014, 05:09:34 AM
Does it have merged mining with Namecoin? If not, why not? Merged mining will allow you to become more popular than not supporting it.
236  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Miners is Chicago Area on: October 16, 2014, 05:07:03 AM
If you're looking to buy coins, why not just use an exchange? Unless your purpose is to avoid a paper trail..
237  Other / Off-topic / Re: 100 MW station on: October 15, 2014, 10:56:30 PM
Won't be available for another decade though, so let's not get too excited. Tongue
238  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Bitcoinclient isnt working on: October 15, 2014, 07:56:26 PM
You need to be more clear on what your problem is exactly, what steps you've taken to fix it and what errors you're getting. Also, mining Bitcoin with a graphics card is going to make you lose money. Buy a dedicated ASIC miner or buy Bitcoin and hold.
239  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Dragon miner on: October 15, 2014, 12:56:06 PM
This site is linked to debt-coin.com.  Yes, it is a validated scam.  Guy that runs it is a member on this forum.

And who is that? I've connected susan.wu1989 to BFL's PCB Overnight in Chicago. Appreciate quick answer.

240  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Very new to bit coin mining on: October 13, 2014, 11:05:14 PM
what about "cloud mining" or buying mining shares?  I dont think my electricity rate is cheap enough to do it myself so I wondered if those would make any money
See my sig for a good example. Do your research and decide if you would benefit from it. Good luck
