221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: March 22, 2024, 10:05:28 PM
~

On the one hand, I’m ready to believe that Lewandowski’s motivation decreased because once he got to Barcelona, he clearly felt that this was not a transition up, but definitely a downward one (Lewandowski became very familiar with the Europa League and lost the habit of playing in the Champions League playoffs while playing in Barcelona haha), but after all, the change of situation should have had a positive effect on him. Most likely it’s a matter of age - he is actually 35.5 years old and this is the age when most football players have already finished playing football. Miracles rarely happen (Ronaldo), so it should not be surprising that Lewandowski, having worse physical capabilities, also has worse motivation.

It is a matter of age and less a matter of motivation. The reason I am saying this is two-fold: on the one hand he declined offers from Saudi Arabia and I think someone who is undergoing declining motivation may get to a point where the desire for more money outweighs the passion for playing the hardest games possible. On the other hand I watched a few interviews he gave in German when he explained why he wanted to go to Barcelona and leave Bayern after breaking and setting all these records. He said that Barcelona has been a lifelong dream for him and he felt it was the perfect time to give his career a last challenging shot. He was super happy about his little children and his wife being able to live in a wonderful, sunny place and he was on fire when he was speaking about his new challenge in Barcelona. It didn't really come across as if he was taking that step to slowdown. I rather thought he wants to prove one more time that he can do it at another top club at his age.

Liverpool management and fans definitely don't want Jurgen Klopp to leave next season because he has built a stronger squad under his coaching. But perhaps his decision to leave has been a consideration and he may want to seek experience at another club as a career step. Jurgen Klopp's departure will definitely have an impact on Liverpool because even though they have got a good coach they will definitely need to adapt to the players so it will not be easy to restore confidence to continue being in a favorable condition.

Likewise, with players who are rumored to be leaving, such as Alexander Arnold, he is still young enough to have a career at another club so it is natural that offers from other clubs come for him. Liverpool have to look at next season with something new and they have to prepare a lot of things if they don't want to experience setbacks like several other teams in the English league.

I don't know where you are gathering your information or whether you take some time to have a closer look at what exactly has been said and what has been proven to be wrong.

Klopp gave quite a long interview explaining his exact reasons as to why he is leaving the club before his contract will expire and what his plan for the next 12 months will be. He said he is healthy and it has nothing to do with his physical condition, but he also said that he feels weak and he feels the need for a break. Hence, he guaranteed that he will definitely not train a new club in the upcoming season. He added that he doesn't know his exact future plans because he wants to take time during that break to make up his mind, but he said there is no chance to see him on the coaching bench in the season 24/25.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is showing some resistance against conceding the third goal in the EURO U-21 qualifiers. It doesn't matter for my duel with cls63, but I saw that the vast majority went with less than 2.5 goals and it reminds me how I got away a few times with my tips on goals when after 30 minutes it looked as if I am clearly on the losing path. But for the time being it seems as if the game will end with less than 2.5 goals. Or this is going to be another foto finisher and we'll see another goal in overtime of overtime (like USA - Jamaica) Smiley

I am sure notblox1 wouldn't be complaining if he starts the round with a perfect 4/4, free bet would probably be waiting for you already.

Mexico with a convincing 3-0 win over Panama, but it wouldn’t matter anyways because the question says both teams to win in regular time, and USA couldn’t come up with a win in 90 minutes of regular time.

Yes correct and I am pretty sure if cls63 now finds out how exactly the game USA - Jamaica went into overtime, he is going to be quite angry! He was seconds away from most likely winning this round as there is only one other question we have different answers to and that is the France - Germany question (where I went with 0-1 goals for France). I think the goal was scored in minute 95' and 34 seconds and the game only went on for half a minute longer because there was a last corner kick. USA should have won the game long before, but eventually I have been on the lucky side of things here. Wink Cheers to those who went with the right answer on this one. Last second finish!

Smiley

mv1986, it looks like we have different answers on only 2 questions. It is absolutely going to be a challenging round. I hope that the surprise I expect in CONCACAF comes true.  Roll Eyes

The USA has 83% ball possession and conceded a goal against Jamaica in the first minute of the game. I am not really sure what to think about this, but the fact of the matter that currently you got the point for this question. Now will Jamaica be able to bring the lead home with just 17% ball possession? Obviously, I hope they don't, but I see the worst case coming for me. Passing accuracy for Jamaica is 52%, if USA can't turn this one around, then what is it that they can turn around? Cheesy
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 21, 2024, 11:10:48 PM
I don't think Xabi Alonso's proposed departure from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season is certain as the young Spanish manager is yet to publicly notify everyone about his next move
If Xabi Alonso leaves Bayer Leverkusen, then this will definitely be Bayer Leverkusen's final journey to become champions in the Bundesliga because the chance of winning will not happen a second time with a different coach. Xabi Alonso now knows the strengths and weaknesses of every player that Leverkusen has, so this coach is able to provide the right position for his players to bring victory. It is not certain that a new coach will be able to do what Xabi Alonso did.

This makes no sense. As much as I acknowledge what Alonso has done for the club as a coach, it wasn't him who scored the goals or played the games as a player. If Leverkusen can get a new coach who turns out to be a great match for this club, why do you think they could not play another great season? My assumption is quite different although it comes with the same result as yours. Leverkusen won't be able to repeat a season like this because they are so good that I think only Bayern was as good at this point during a season like a decade ago. Even if Alonso stays there, the next season wouldn't be the same.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: March 21, 2024, 12:42:20 PM
A sad reality of online streaming that also doubles as a gambling promotion is that it can have unknown consequences with its widespread reach. As it recently came to light, a fan of Adin Ross took his own life. The controversy however was much more than just this fact. The controversy stemmed from the fact that Adin Ross' editor, being completely apathetic to these news of a man taking his own life, called it "old news" in a dismissive tone.

Source: https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/news-rip-him-adin-ross-editor-confirms-kick-star-reacted-fan-taking-life-due-gambling-addiction

Adin Ross is one of the most famous streamers in the world right now, with his content having hundreds of thousands of hours in watch time. Of course much of his content is direct promotion to slots games and such gambling. Perhaps Kick should add some limits to how "controversial" a streamer can be in their platform. People like Ross were banned from twitch after maaany violations.

What do you think about this? Do such people deserve a platform even on Kick?

Lol I have to admit that I didn't know about the platform "Kick" until I read your post now. Did a quick search and found that they are paying millions for contracts with well known streamers from Twitch, which I do of course know.

Calling a suicide "old news" is probably never a good idea, let alone in a dismissive tone. But in this case it is even worse when it is really known that the suicide was the consequence of a gambling addiction of someone who followed a streamer mostly streaming casino slots. I mean this would get me thinking about my actions at least. Streaming casino slots is rightfully highly controversial. All addictions work the same way in the brain and whether it be alcohol or drugs, gambling can be as bad in terms of the processes in the brain and how it can harm a human being.

You could argue that gaming could be harmful as well if people start losing control over their social lives. That's true, but when you are a gaming addict, usually the damage you undergo can be repaired in a reasonable amount of time. If someone loses control over gambling and destroys their financial situation, this may have life-long consequences and can perhaps not be repaired in a reasonable amount of time.

Since I don't know all the circumstances, I can't really judge what exactly was the case here. But if I had a free choice as to what I would like to successfully stream on a huge platform, gambling and casino slots would not be on my list. Everyone is responsible for themselves, but I couldn't be passionate and happy about streaming something that I know will guaranteed destroy some lives that can't manage to control their habits.

Wink

232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: March 20, 2024, 11:35:54 PM
He is a machine. I don't know anyone who can perform like this despite his age. He continues to be at the top of the scoring list with 23 goals in the Saudi Arabian league. Moreover, he makes this statistic just before he turns 40. A great football player and a great person. It's like he was born for football. I hope it leaves us great memories at Euro 2024 in the summer.
Football is on different phase. Every single player have their promising moment in football and the specified ones that portrayed the facts that they're absolutely out of good shape. Perhaps Cristiano Ronaldo remained the big name that comprehend football and his style is awesome. Ronaldo is no longer active as before because he's aged and we know how everyone can't cheat nature. We missed him in the European football because the available players failed to do incredibly up to the match of Messi and Ronaldo. Since both of the greatest GOATs left Europe football, it has not been the same.

Ronaldo is of course a lot older, but the main reason that he may not be as passionate anymore is that he played the biggest games in football for Real Madrid, Juventus Turin and Manchester United and now he is somewhere in Saudi Arabia. I doubt that a player of his level and with a marvelous career can still find the motivation to play his absolute best. I think everyone would be the same. He played the one and only classicos on a regular basis and now the best game he gets to play is maybe against Al-Hilal. Can't really blame him as he took the check and does his job, nothing more and nothing less than that.
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: March 20, 2024, 11:24:24 PM
I think we will definitely see Liverpool in the final. If they lose in the league or elsewhere it doesn't mean they are bad. The important thing is their desire and they want to win this trophy.
This is Jürgen Klopp's last year and I think they will gift him this championship.
Europa League doesn't seem easy as we all thought it would, the presence of elite teams does poses threats for the available favorite teams to win. I'm 100% confident of seeing Liverpool in the Europa League final this season, with accompanied stellar performance, I don't see any team as threat except the unbeaten team this season, Bayer Leverkusen. I'm just wishing to see Liverpool vs Bayer Leverkusen in the final,  this will be one of the most entertaining and important game ever in the world record of European football, because both clubs are elite and very competitive this season.

If these two teams enter the final, surely Liverpool will win, because Liverpool is the strongest team throughout the season. So I am in favor of the Liverpool team and keep Liverpool in the betting list, so far the Liverpool team has always won by a wide margin.

Nobody knows whether they will both enter the final as they can meet in any of the rounds before the final, but if they do play against each other in the final, I am surprised about your assessment here and how certain you are about the potential outcome. Let me remind you that Liverpool just got eliminated from the FA Cup by Manchester United. Liverpool is good, very good, but that doesn't mean Leverkusen couldn't beat them.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 20, 2024, 10:56:26 PM
Bayern Munich, this season is completely in shambles. I don't even think they will go past Arsenal if the form turns up on a good day. Real Madrid has to tussle it out with Manchester City, whoever wins in that match is most likely reaching the final and probably winning this year's title.

I believe anyone who underestimates this current Bayern Munich team might be in for a big surprise. I know that Arsenal has been terrifying for most of this season and Bayern on the other hand, has been inconsistent so much that Tuchel will be leaving at the end of the season. But I still believe that they will put up a strong fight against Arsenal. We saw how much Porto proved to be a hard nut for Arsenal to crack and how much Porto gave Arsenal a run for their money during their knockout stage encounter.

I have enjoyed Arsenal games this season and they have made me win most of my singles bets this season but I cannot deny the kind of threat that Bayern Munich pose to them. That said, I am neutral for the quarter-final clash between Arsenal and Bayern.

Well, at least Bayern Munich seems to be getting back into good shape at the right time regarding the Champions League. They missed the train in the Bundesliga obviously and I thought for a few weeks that they would get destroyed in the Champions League if they can't solve most of their problems rather sooner than later, but now it seems to me that they must be taken very seriously again. It's hard to tell whether there is one team here that has an edge, but I think Bayern Munich does have an edge as they have this angriness about their performance in the Bundesliga and desperately want to make up for that.

Once again a nasty set of questions and when I say nasty, it means I acknowledge that @cryptofrka and @Trofo have put quite some effort into it. The question that begs me recently is what Mourinho is going to do next. I gave it some thought and realized that he is one of those guys, at least at this stage of his career, where you can't seriously predict anything about his next step. Many here thought that he would accept an offer from Saudi Arabia way earlier, but he didn't and instead stayed with Roma. Until now I ask myself why he did that? The money they pay is so crazy that I am puzzled why he did not go for it back then when he had the offer. Now he is free and is still living his life. I am looking forward to find out where this guy sees himself in the future.
