Well, this isn't a surprise. The number of suicides due to gambling is really high compared to other suicidal problems out there. This is what they want to influence their audience with and there's nothing to blame with this issue other than this influencer. Personally, there have been times when I've thought about taking my life but I always remind myself that it's just a bad day and for sure tomorrow will be different. I want to quit gambling but I can't. I don't know why. Hopefully this won't happen to me.

I don't think this is the solution and I don't believe it will have any positive effect.
Just like any niche market, advertising and sponsorship are vital to attracting new customers.
If they ban streamers, they will certainly find other ways to advertise both legally and illegally.

It is necessary for each person to be aware of the risks involved and know how to filter what they see between what is real and what is fabricated.
It is also the obligation of platforms to manage this type of content.

Anyway... blocking streamers might help at first, but I'm sure there would be other less controlled means of communication that players would look for in search of "infallible solutions to get rich".

The problem lies with the players who want to be scammed, not the streamers.

This news is just one of the many tales of people going to the extreme because of gambling addiction. The rate at which these celebrities promote gambling on their platform is becoming very alarming. The most disturbing part of it is that most of the followers of these celebrities are underaged. Many of them will enter the gambling space immature and might not be able to control their gambling behavior because they are not financially and emotionally balanced. I think there should be restrictions on gambling advertisements by these superstars because it seems they are not concerned about the well-being of their followers because of selfish reasons.

The most annoying part of the story that OP narrated is the lack of empathy or sympathy for the young chap who lost his life. Adin Ross and his team failed to know that the deceased might have become addicted by visiting his channel. He also failed to know that the youth who took his own life has friends and family members who are mourning the loss of a loved one. This is a clear indication that people only care about money and nothing else.

The problem is that a lot of their viewers (most especially the newbies) don't know what is going on. To them, they feel they are watching someone who is just extremely lucky and is constantly hitting the jackpot without knowing that they are either being sponsored or have an account that`s different from what other users are using, and when they eventually give the game a shot, they also increase their bankroll (trying to emulate the streamer's account, thinking it would yield the same result as that of the streamer), only for them to end up losing everything.

I don't know why people are so quick to commit suicide when things just start going south. It changes nothing. And your right if i am a fan of a streaming club or podcast and i am not sensitive to these kinds of acts i will immediately quit watching and not just that they would lose a fan like me i will also tell my friends and people around me who will avoid such things in the future. The streamer can always remind his subscribers about their responsibilities as a gambler. The tragic event was not on streamer's fault as he didn't have direct influence in his subscriber's life. His influence is very limited to what he is showing to his audience. The responsibility relies on the person himself.

The family should also be aware of what's going on with their family members particularly those younger ones who can easily be influenced by social media. In today's generation, a lot of what's going on can be hidden from your parents or guardians. But if you are a parent, you can instill some basic virtues to your kids that you believe they will hold onto up until they grow up.

The problem was on Discord and not on Kick, a fan on Discord committed suicide while Adin was watching...

We know how gambling can ruin lives, if someone loses his life savings for sure he will think for a time about ending his life, but is a stupid move. First of all, we know the basic rules of gambling, and you shouldn't gamble more than you can afford to lose.

This will only cause some drama around Adin, but nothing will change at all.

I myself had a Stream channel that I sometimes watched, the guy was honest, but since last year when a big casino paid him a lot of money, the guy changed, he started to be dishonest with people, even though I saw that the big casino makes selective payments and scams, yet he continues to promote this casino and keeps acting during his Streamer's, he keeps laughing, he keeps pretending that he is surprised that he won. I stopped watching everything he posts since last year, because he became a person who acts in his videos, as if he were a great actor, he became dishonest. unfortunately this has happened a lot

I do hope that these people in power that have a stream and reach try to see and be empathetic toward people who might be struggling with something. At the end of the day, Kick is a business entity and with that, they can still Adin Ross to continue as he is one of their biggest streamers as you have said. Even myself have seen him play. And in response by the editor, he blurted it out and it was put out of context. He said that he thought that Adin Ross already knew the news about it and so he called it "old news". However, we really don't want to hear this kind of bad news and this is the worst thing that gambling can bring to us. Our decisions are very clouded and we can't really separated the reality. Hopefully, this will be the last time that we will hear this news as everyone can recover from our gambling addiction and not thinking of ending our precious life.

It was a bad statement from the editor. Even if they believed they have zero reasons to be called into it, they should have atleast shown some sympathy afterall it's another human dying. I too don't believe the Adin Ross or his team has not incited the suicide in any way and that was the personal decision of the fan.
Streamers or any public figure in general are closely followed by their fans and even the creators intention might not have been bad, every small thing shown, spoke or referred by they has a positive or negative impact. So, they always need to be humble and corrective when it comes to dealing with public. Failing to do so would create controversy and hurt their own popularity.

I’ve always frown so hard at gambling streamers because i think and feel most of their contents aren’t real and they are maybe some sort of calculated attempt to lure young and gullible players to the site to maybe earn some affiliate commissions at the end and I think these streamers are causing more harm then good and in my country, I’ve seen a lot of adverts from content creators about a particular local game “WAJE GAMES” and one thing I’ve noticed is that, they make it seem there is no loss in the game but when you finally give it a trial, there are extremely very slim chances of you making a win and I’ve also heard about several people who tried  the above mentioned game, I concluded the game is a scam but there are still adverts going on by famous content creators in my country and those adverts have high potentials and possibilities of leading their fans astray.

Addictions is a very crucial issue gambling and I think we shouldn’t castigate addicted but we should rather seek ways to comfort them as it could possibly be anyone a anytime.

Many children have access to Facebook and enjoy watching videos, so they might develop an interest in this at a young age. That's why I've unfollowed content creators like these now.
