Sad the price tank so much.
I missed the opportunity to sell and now it's tanking...

So, sell now what are you waiting for?  Wink
Syscoin is very good project and I think everyone will agree but we should really think if time for decentralized marketplace has come? I think no, so we should expect drop in price.

I'm not sure how ready the marketplace is currently but I'd say that the price is tanking because it's slightly stupid to start marketing a unfinished product to the masses. Better wait for the right moment. Using ebay-paypal crap doesn't make zero sense even for an average consumer or seller - the worst system is for some reason the most popular. But not for long!

I'm trying to buy my first ticket. What am I supposed to input into the voting address? Do I just generate a new address in my wallet and input that? The instructions that I've found are unclear and I don't want to just send my money into space without being sure what to do.

I'm trying out the Paymetheus wallet for the first time. The wallet asks me something cryptic about RPC connection and asks for some certificate. What am I supposed to do?

New ATH - 28th December 2017. Reason purely because it'll take that long due to recovery from China's bullshit. I think if China hadn't messed us around we would have seen a new ATH earlier.

Are you sure? Price has already recovered pretty well and 1h candles look like a Super Mario jump Cheesy

The current volume is low...

I don't want my bank to know that I am fiddling around with BTC. Not sure what their policy is, but don't want to take chances, and have them close my account. That is why I have lately been using the Paypal route. Then I can transfer from Paypal to my bank and all my bank sees is that I got money from Paypal.

I'm not sure what you mean but selling BTC for paypal-money is very risky. Anyone can complain within 30 days and get their money back + keep the coins. Paypal-policy says that they can just take the money from you and give it to someone else.

If you're worried about your exchange double-crossing you in that manner, you probably shouldn't be dealing with that particular exchange in the first place.

What exchanges pay you with paypal money? Also I wouldn't trust Paypal with any larger sums. I once sold most of my vinyl records in a short period and paypal froze my account. I had to prove this and that to be able to be able to use my funds again. It took months and I was really broke (that's why I sold my vinyls) so I'm still quite pissed.

You would think after almost three years of being involved in the cryptocurrency sphere, that I would know how to trade. But I still am quite clueless. I thought I did well yesterday. I managed to put of few trades together, where I sold higher and then would buy back lower. I didn't catch the absolute crests and troughs, but I did OK with the little bit that I was moving around. I then bought back last night, and left it at that, so I could sleep well at night with a few more satoshis than I had 24 hours ago. This morning, just before work, I saw the market shoot up from a low of almost 2800 USD to a little above $3300. I thought, surely this must be near the peak, so I sold a little bit of my BTC. Now it appears the rally has continued and I find myself stuck with a fiat balance on Gdax. I know that it is recommended not to seek trading advise in this space. However, I really am clueless what to do. Any recommendations? Here are my options.

1) Keep the fiat balance on GDAX, so that I can continue to play around with the market at my leisure, and have both a BTC balance and a fiat balance.
2) Transfer fiat to Paypal and pay off the credit card balance that I have for them. (Coinbase charges a big fee to do this though, and I could probably pay off my balance outright with fiat I already have in the bank anyway.)
3) Buy back your BTC, use this as perfect example that I suck at trading and transfer all my BTC back to cold storage so I can HODL.

Thanks in advance for the advice.  Wink

I'd recommend thinking of something to buy. Then Buy back your BTC and use that BTC immediately to buy it.

I just woke up. Has there been some good news or some agreement in China? Or what is happening? Just a natural rebound?

snip snap poof - all  gone

Official Chinacoin incoming during National Congress. "Probably "

Yeah I can imagine a CNY tether coin...then back to business...

One thing I am pretty sure of- in China NEO & co are not going anywhere apart from moon.

They are up to something 100%!

This is a prelude.

NEO seems to be very low. Why would you think it would go to the moon? Seems like a risky investment at this point...
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: September 14, 2017, 09:58:49 PM
It makes me laugh when I read all of those "HOLD HOLD HOLD!!1!111!".
BTC price is going down and it will not stop at current 3350$. It will go down much harder.
Everyone with a brain would sell it as price is going down and buy it back once it's low enough (it will go down to 2500$ at least) to get their BTC back and extra 850$/BTC for example. But everyone just spams HOLD, BUY IT NOW ("because I have some $ invested in btc and I want to earn cash").
I have sold all of my coins (around 10), I will buy them back in November. I will get all of my BTC back and extra ~1k$/BTC because of those exchanges. And you - don't forget to HOOOOLD  Grin
There were some people like you who said the same thing before August 1 fork and smart HODLERS didn't listened to them and see how much bitcoin rise by then.I will still say HODL.It's the safest and best option for everyone  Cheesy

I have sold my BTCs once they were ~4k$/ea. I should have done it earlier but well. I could just buy them back now and earn ~$7000 for free but it's still not worth it as I can buy it back in a month and earn ~$15k while "smart holders" will wait for months to get a profit. BTC will go down, no matter if you will hold it or not. BTC= China.

You can't seriously think that China will actually manage to ban bitcoin? Or make Chinese people to stop using BTC? Of course they could but I guess rather that they have some plans for an official exchange that is run by the government. This way they can control the people and see where the money walks much better.

Bought at 3286, hopefully bottom is in now

I think that if or when the 20 000 yuan line breaks, all hell will be loose. Interesting times. I guess I'll skip sleeping for tonight.

20 000 Yen broken! Interesting to see what happens now...

I find it quite difficult to post ten post per week on bitcointalk. Even though I browse here daily. Well, I guess I'm more like an lurker. Anyways, thanks for the free coins and keep up the good work!
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: September 14, 2017, 05:25:03 PM
Can't wait for deeponion to appear at bittrex. Or at least some sensible exchange. Before that, I'll just enjoy the very nice airdrops.
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 14, 2017, 04:33:04 PM
My guess for the new ATH is 11th of November. Just because 11.11. is a nice number and it seems like a sensible estimation.
237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 14, 2017, 11:30:39 AM

I fail to see why this is bad. It is confirmed. They will not trade anymore there. Move on.

This is actually good news! /s

I don't understand. Why is it good news that BTCC will stop all trading?
238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 14, 2017, 10:35:30 AM
Hope we did hit the rock bottom. Wouldn't have believed that the price goes under 3800!
239  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will Bitcoin be worth in 5 years? on: September 13, 2017, 11:04:36 AM
One million dollars.
I like the idea that there are more millionaires (35 million) in the world than there are bitcoins (21 million)
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 13, 2017, 10:59:48 AM
The price is going down way too slow for me to be really worried about it...
