221  Economy / Gambling / Re: Parser on: April 30, 2024, 11:00:45 AM
For educative purposes only. What is this alledged scam even about? From what I can understand by giving a reading to what OP means, hm this seems to be something similar to arbitrage, but he does not explicitly talk about making money out of difference of odds according to the state of markets. So I don't understand yet how this scam is supposed to work. Since you mention Telegram, I can only assume this is the kind of thing where OP will try to fish someone into requiring more information about those markets and he would ask money for it. But I insist... This does not seem to be as obvious as other people who have come here and directly drop their Telegram for people to get "premium tips" on matches or stuff like that.

Would you care to explain?
For people to later meet him on Telegram is his aim. You can see the topic he posted today. Let me quote it for you to see.

Hello forum members. I recently found a vulnerability between bookmakers, mostly from different countries, mainly Chinese bookmakers and Western ones, where the odds in Chinese bookmakers drop very quickly. And I came up with the idea to create a parser to find such matches. These were mostly e-sports matches. I wouldn't discuss this topic on a public forum, but because of such bets, I received a betting limit. I would like to discuss the specific matches and screens in more detail privately with evidence. I need 3-4 people to work with this parser. People who don't have limits in bookmakers. So I suggest insuring these matches 80 to 20 or 50 to 50. And I would like to discuss all the new details in Telegram.

He came to this forum to look for a loan which would have been a scam if anyone borrowed him. He is looking for other means now when his former plan failed.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parser on: April 30, 2024, 09:26:18 AM
Well I asked the moderators for permission to advertise this parser, they gave me permission and told me to create a new topic in this wall.
This is not the way to advertise. You are getting it so wrong. Advertise means you want to come up with a service, post about it and make it clear for people about a service and maybe possibly bring up a campaign about it also. But you want to bring up a service and not advertising anything. You are only looking for money and no money to be made from anyone on this forum which means it is not an advertisement.

If everything you want to do is on this forum, that is fine. But as you want to take it to telegram, it is better for people to avoid anything you are posting if they want to avoid scam.
223  Economy / Gambling / Re: Parser on: April 30, 2024, 09:18:59 AM
Hello guys, is it possible to advertise a parser here for betting on peculiar matches in esports? By peculiar, I mean, for example, when there's a significant odds shift in Chinese bookmakers that European bookmakers don't notice.
You do not need to start to spam the forum because of what you called advertisement. It is not even an advertisement but you are advancing to scam when people told you already that you can bring up such discussion on this forum. Later you give your telegram link which is the commonest way scammers are using to do their work. I hope people will stay away from you. This should just be a discussion and not an advertisement.
224  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2024-04-30] Bitcoin Dominance Rises as Altcoins Decline on: April 30, 2024, 09:12:05 AM
Bitcoin dominance has not falling below 50% since may months ago. It is more than a year ago or more. Bitcoin dominance right now is 53.53%. But I do not see this to be new because bitcoin has really been dominating the crypto market since the beginning of crypto existence and till now.
225  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Lists of open-source bitcoin lightning wallets on: April 29, 2024, 07:05:35 PM
Now, since it's not my work I am not going to download those images and upload them to talkimg or some other place without tagging all of them as to where they came from. Which leads to the "need a lot of free time" thing.
Thanks for the helpful posts. I will find time to do that and upload the results on this thread.

Back to this subject. Another data point might be TOR can use (yes / no) and built into the app (yes / no)
Some like BTCitbanana will connect over TOR and it's included in the build. Others do not and require TOR on the device.
Yes I saw that you can enable and disable Tor on Bitbanana but what if the wallet does not have Tor built-in. I do not have a lightning node to test those that you have to connect your node and external Tor. But I will try my best to include this and leave the space blank for those I am not able to get. Hopefully if someone using any of the wallet can come up to let us know if they can connect to external Tor which is not inbuilt for those that requires individual node connection.

Remember that Phoenix is going to stop services in US

https://coinstats.app/news/f2214258426b3225ec4497c838fa31f039a0744efd5a09414c44e08c0c2d1b36_Phoenix-Wallet-Halts-Services-For-US-Users/

Probably due to problems related to samourai.
I read about this that Phoenix will no longer be available on May 3 for US citizens or something like that. I will keep on checking the official site and on GitHub to know how true that would be. But I guess the site can not be taken down because of US but US IP address can be restricted. You can access the site with Tor or VPN which its IP address is set to another country location. Tor better and private.

On Tor I was able to access Phoenix official site that contains a link to their GitHub release page that can be used to download and use the wallet: https://phoenix.acinq.co/download

You can also access the file to download it directly on their GitHub release page: https://github.com/ACINQ/phoenix/releases

With how this is, the app can be removed from Google and App stores for US citizens but I still see no way that the app and service can be disabled for US citizens that still want to continue to use it. The site is not taken down and US citizens can still be able to access it as other non US citizens can access it.

I think we should also have a bit of a discussion about what a lightning network wallet is.
There are some useful lightning network posts in the past, I will add some to the OP. But posts some posts created by RapTarX and Rath_ (who is the father of lightning network on this forum) have invalid imgur images. I will find something to do about the images if they both do not come back on this forum to update the image. But there was a time Rath_ posted that he will update the invalid images to valid ones but nothing has been done and I guess it is because he is too busy to do anything on the forum.

These are the thread I saw useful for the lightning network introductory post:
A Beginner's guideline to Bitcoin Lightning Network
Basics of the Lightning Network
The Lightning Network FAQ
The Lightning Network node experience
Lightning Network Observer

I can also add some other useful ones but which are not on this forum.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_Network#:~:text=The%20Lightning%20Network%20(LN)%20is,to%20the%20bitcoin%20scalability%20problem.

https://tara-annison.medium.com/a-comprehensive-guide-to-the-lightning-network-aa2f7f9c6c31

If you are running something like BTCitbanana you are more or less running a front end on your own lightning node (or whatever node you are connecting to)
The private keys are generated and the wallet is setup / configured BEFORE you connect to it with the app.

Same with the web front ends, is Ride The Lightning https://www.ridethelightning.info/ a web wallet is Thunderhub https://thunderhub.io/ a web wallet?
These are two wallets that are also just like BTCitbanana because you have to connect your own node. If they are open source, I will also add them when I am adding the web wallet that support lightning network.
227  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Lists of open-source bitcoin lightning wallets on: April 29, 2024, 08:28:44 AM
What about the other Dapp wallets like Trust Wallet, Bitget Wallet etc? I often utilise Bitget Wallet as my first preference and undoubtedly it has added a few exceptional features that others haven't, it supports Future trading, deposits via the P2P method, a launchpad for other projects, Swap with a limit option, NFTs, minting, sources of multiple DApps at one place etc.
Trustwallet and Bitget wallet are not bitcoin lightning wallet. They support bitcoin but it is better you use good wallet that are not close source but open source for bitcoin. There are many bitcoin wallets that are open source. Electrum, Passport, Trezor, Sparrow, Bluewallet, Unstoppable, Green and many other wallets are bitcoin wallets.

I've downloaded Aqua Wallet recently after reading all the discussion about Aqua wallet here. All the details about Aqua wallet are still in the process of being found out.
Previously, I had also used Bluewallet as a result of recommendations from several leading forum users and concluded that Bluewallet was a good wallet after Electrum.
Electrum and Bluewallet lightning network are not for newbies. To open a channel on Electrum is more manual and some newbies may not like that. You will need to be a lightning node runner before you can use Bluewallet as it will need your node address.
228  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Lists of open-source bitcoin lightning wallets on: April 29, 2024, 06:59:13 AM
After channel opening, low fee can be used for lightning transactions which can be good for daily or frequent transactions. Transaction confirmation time is very fast which is just a matter of few seconds.
I guess many of us do not use lightning network very often. I can not remember when was the last time I used it and always felt it's not convenient for regular use.
You do not use it regularly probably because you are a campaign manager and transfer huge amount of money weekly. Also that that lightning network has not been made convenient in a way you can send to many people at one time. I have not seen a lightning wallet that does that. But not good for huge amount dealings.

Lightning network is not well adopted but it grew a little in the past time.

Warning:

If you are using any of these wallets, know that you are at your own risk.

Lightning network should be used for small amount of bitcoin, the safest way are still cold and multisig wallets for on-chain transactions. Lightning wallets are just good for small amount of bitcoin and for frequent transactions.

Some lightning wallets open and close channels using liquid network which depends on intermediaries for peg-in and peg-out or something similar. Example is the opening and closing of a channel through the liquid network, or buying inbound liquidity which some wallets can offer.

Most importantly know that custodial lightning wallets are the worst. It is not your key which means it is not your coin. I do not use custodial lightning wallets but using this medium to let you just know about there existence. This post is not about their recommendation and I will not list any of them among the lightning wallet that I will list here. Do your own research to know about them.

Among all, the best to trust more is the trustless solution which is through the bitcoin on-chain opening and closing of channel which does not depend on intermediaries. But yet, use lightning network with small amount of money. If you are not spending your coins for a long time, use cold wallet instead.

Importance of lightning wallets:

After channel opening, low fee can be used for lightning transactions which can be good for daily or frequent transactions. Transaction confirmation time is very fast which is just a matter of few seconds.

It is good to know that close source lightning wallets are not listed, also that custodial lightning network wallets are not included. The wallets that required users to open and close channels, or connecting your own nodes for node runners are the ones I listed.

Old thread: Open-source Lightning wallets

Hugeblack posted that he is too busy to updated the old thread that was last edited in 2020. Thanks to him for giving me the opportunity to come up with this thread. Thanks to dkbit98 for the information I got about Aqua wallet. I did not contact him but his post about the wallet was useful. I saw his post on Bitcointalk. Thanks to DaveF for the information he provided about BTCitbanana on Hugeblack's old thread. Thanks to FinneysTrueVision for pointing to Aqua wallet. It was him that actually let me make research about the wallet before I saw bdkbit98 post about it. About its second wallet that he mentioned, Marina, I will still do research on it but it looks like a browse extension wallet which makes me not to research about it further for now. More wallets will later be added.

More will be added. You can suggest the ones you know.

Manchester City's great performance against Forest today will ensure they win and collect the three points. hink Arsenal and Manchester City are more excited about.
Manchester City is playing with a club that is not strong and I am also expecting Manchester City to win. First half is almost gone and Manchester City is winning with 1 goal already scored by J. Gvardiol with the assist of K. De Bruyne. We are still expecting more goals. By the way, Arsenal has already won Tottenham which we know it is going to be a tough match but Arsenal trashed Tottenham 3 goals in the first half but Tottenham was not able to equalize in second half but scored 2.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Nassim Taleb's ideas useful in gambling? on: April 28, 2024, 04:12:37 PM
Great to hear that. I think that only means that gambling is not your passion. The one that you read about gambling fund is found in the forum? Because I also read one here before and yes, it exactly says 1%. For the people who says gambling is life, they can't find value in their game if they also use a low amount of money.
I can say gambling is not that my passion or maybe I should use the world 'hobby' because I still like to gamble at times especially during the weekends when I have nothing to do and also when I am around my friends we can talk about gambling and gamble on a gambling site. I read about 1% to be used for gambling on a football prediction site but it has been long and I do not remember the prediction site that I read it from as I have many prediction sites in the past that I check for prediction before betting.

234  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [List] Open-source Lightning wallets on: April 28, 2024, 07:55:18 AM
I also just noticed that Electrum is not among the wallet mentioned. Electrum can be used for lightning payment. It is noncustodial.

If Muun is considered a lightning wallet then Aqua and Marina are also lightning wallets. They are all using swaps to make lightning payments but the difference is Muun uses on-chain BTC while the others use Liquid BTC.
Liquid network is different from lightning network. If there is no channel created by individual or the people that are providing the wallet service, that means it is not a lightning network.
235  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [List] Open-source Lightning wallets on: April 28, 2024, 12:00:43 AM
This is a very good thread for people that are interested in lightning network but I think it needs to be edited.

The first is that Bluewallet is no more a custodial lightning network wallet, you have to connect to your LNDHub which now makes it noncustodial.

I was unable to see Zap, Eclair Mobile, Peach Wallet and shockwallet on Android PlayStore. You can check it yourself to know if I am correct or not. I am not an iPhone user to check the ones you mentioned for iOS.

There are some other ones that are existing now. Example is this common one called Wallet of Satoshi. I am surprised that I did not see it on the list. But it is possible that it has not been created in 2020 when you started this thread.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making the Most of $100 bankroll on: April 27, 2024, 07:57:54 PM
It depends on how confident he is in the bets that he will place. If he intends to play single bets and use that 5% balance then that 5 dollar bet is a good approach although I would suggest making it five 20 dollar bets if he is extremely confident in the bets he will place.I would also suggest that he can try that 5% daily bankroll and use it as a good strategy to try some good parlays,I mean he can try to double or triple his money through these parlays, important is that he does not rush in placing bets, rushing and choosing on pressure is a sure factor to guarantee you a lost bet and trust me I have been years many years long playing sport betting.
I see $20 to be too much for me, using just $5 to bet out of $100 is good for me. I prefer the parlay that you talked about. I even sometimes like it riskier in a way I can go for 3 matches and all are fist half win. I do this just to get a bigger old for small amount of money. Some people will prefer to go for little odd with high armount of money, this is a silly mistake from some gamblers.

3. Ideas from the book “Antifragile.” By the way, the concept of “barbell” is also from this book. Keep 90% of the bank in conservative assets and 10% in high-risk assets.
This can confuse people. Some people will think that the high risk assets can be gambling assets. Out of my money, I can not leave more than 5% in gambling. Most of the time I leave lower than 5%. I have read about gambling funds before and it is advised that it should not even be more than 1% of your income. Using the low amount of money can give joy and happiness as they are nothing for you and it would be like you did not lose anything. But it should be about 1 to 5% of the money you hate earning and not your total assets.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can a seed phrase on steel or titanium sheet survive this flood? on: April 26, 2024, 08:01:17 PM
Stompix said it is a flood in Orenburg , Russia. There was flood in Dubai but not this image. But this does not change my question.

This was part of the flood in Dubai recently. The rain that should have fallen in almost 3 years fell in just one day and the whole of the city were flooded.

It is possible that doors and windows and wardrobes were broken. Can steel or titanium sheet survive this? It might probably has been swept away from the house into the ocean.
