221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CLOAK] Cloakcoin | No Premine | X13 | Exchange Anon | BITTREX on: June 07, 2014, 09:37:42 PM
Question about the coin:

Anon is kept through the exchanges, right? Two problems with that:

1.-Authorities would only have to serve the exchanges and the anon disappear instantly.
2.-Peers still would have to use non-anon means -such as e-mail- to contact each other.

What am I missing here?

Honorcoin | 100% PoS | 2% Free Distribution

1: Can authorities serve/shut down all altcoin exchanges across the globe at the same time? Imo, no.
2: Please elaborate on this question.

for the second question I think I may have an answer. If people use PGP to encrypt their emails then there would be no way to trace unless someone found your private key

Instamine? Hidden blocks?

Nope, neither of those here. It's been confirmed, solid coding, custom as well.

and the rich list looks promising as well. No 3 million coin wallets like every other coin launch. The top wallets are pools and exchanges

Hey guys look, the FUD squad is back, YAY! Must mean they are worried and come to talk some shit to make themselves feel better. I guess I forgot to put a couple of them on ignore. Matter has been fixed, move on.

Barabbas (IconicExpert) loves him some libtery threads.  Note, my Tic Tic Tic post was making fun of him.

ok you made me laugh, for a second I thought you were one of them lol. Apologies, sir.

Remember that time Iconic posted screenshots of PMs he had with barabbas? Then it was proved they were the same person! Dumbass spent time talking to HIMSELF in PMs! LMAO!!!!!!!! What a delusional fucktard!!!!

You guys see that they are trying to antagonize you into responding to them and you guys are taking the bait, right? Just don't respond to them and they will go away again.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LIBERTYCOIN][XLB] X11 | 100% POS | No IPO | No Premine | Cryptsy & Mintpal on: May 31, 2014, 11:42:51 PM
Just ignore them. They will go away if nobody is paying attention to them. The more you guys respond to them, the longer they will stick around.

You almost seem to have a point here.  Are you really criticizing LibertyCoin for the state of the alt-currency world?  Are you criticizing them because those with the most hash/ wealth can get the most coin?  What remedy would you suggest?  Communism? The greatest tragedy of the 20th century?  Regarding your poor daytrader comment, are you trying to justify your FUD?

I am not criticizing Libertycoin for the state of the alt-currency world.

It is simply one that I wanted to do really well and wanted to be involved with actively.

Because of what happened, I have spent some time assessing the state of cryptos - their birth, growth, evolution and current state.

I am pointing out that cryptos in general are ripe for exploitation and that the core of it is embedded in the original whitepaper by Satoshi.

https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

Section 6.

"The incentive may help encourage nodes to stay honest. If a greedy attacker is able to
assemble more CPU power than all the honest nodes, he would have to choose between using it
to defraud people by stealing back his payments, or using it to generate new coins. He ought to
find it more profitable to play by the rules, such rules that favour him with more new coins than
everyone else combined, than to undermine the system and the validity of his own wealth."

This is why mining exists, why the solo miner started to mine in the first place, why they are at the receiving end of exploitation, why pool mining exists and why ASICs were created.

The extract from the whitepaper is often used to explain 51% attacks.

The implications are deeper than that and I will not explain any further.

But look again - what is Satoshi trying to achieve?  He is saying that it should pay more to be honest than to be a thief.

He also says "playing by the rules".

Those rules no longer exist with ASICs and high-end hashers, because they were written at a time when hashing was done on CPUs.

One person, One vote no longer applies today.

Boomslang, your arguments can be made for ANY coin out there. Why focus on spreading negativity about XLB? I've read your last 10 posts or so and there is nothing constructive in them at all. It is only you posting negativity with no proof other than hearsay and opinions, very very broad opinions that apply to pretty much everything out there in the market. Get out of here with that crap please. We need positive posts, I know you say youre trying to protect people, but Even tho you say that, you are hurting all of us that hold XLB. Your FUD makes prices drop, and we all lose money. Your "advice" is counter-productive.

I've boldened and underlined the part of my post that you obviously missed.

My argument is that not that ANY coin can be exploited, but that ALL coins can be exploited.

It is built into the original Bitcoin protocol.

"That crap" you refer to is a fundamental flaw in ALL cryptos.  There is a bug in the Bitcoin methodology.

No amount of anonimity or new coins based on the protocol are safe, because the underlying mechanism is fundamentally flawed.

It is comparable to the Heartbleed bug, in some ways - because it has been there since inception and until it is fixed the exploits will continue.

Go look yourself, don't take my word for it.  Do your research.  Due diligance.

I am not singling out XLB.

The exploitation did not start until pool mining started and ASICs hit the market.

I am not saying that coin creators are deliberately exploiting miners - though some of them are - but that whenever a new coin is created based on the Bitcoin methodology, the new coin is open to exploitation from outsiders.  Not the devs who may very well have the best intentions.

thanks for reinforcing  my point. Go post in the altcoins section. Or perhaps take your "bug report" to the bitcoin thread. This thread is no place to discuss the flaws of altcoin tehcnology as a whole.

I had posted the screenshots shown that it is fake the cooperation of the DEV and the Chinese IT company.
and I doubted that whether they are in the development of anonymity wallet and the day June 1st they mentioned in their earlier posts.

They deleted most of my posts.

The Dev was not the one who said they were going to contact the Chinese, it was another member of the community. He turned out to be lying about who he knew. You can't blame the Dev of Libertycoin for trying to reach out to all possible avenues to implement anon. It is still being figured out. This is basically an alpha test. So give them some time and let them do their thing. The more they have to answer people every 5 minutes, the less time they are developing things. Let the Dev dev!  YAY!

btw, obvious alt acct is obvious
support you, waiting good news

Well turns out I was wrong about the first part. Hopefully Polzki makes good and delivers. I am happy he came on and explained his position.

Liberty Coin. I asked a genuine question. You spend so much energy and time defending the haters and trolls, yet won't post any info regarding the progress of your coin, or at least communication in a positive way.

Please spend just 2 minutes advising how your coder friend is progressing if at all.

We posted information at least a couple of times today, and I have been all day in the IRC channel.

Please send me your email to keep you updated, since other methods don't seem to work.

If your referring to "We don't have a date yet" ... well then I'm up to speed.

I and no doubt the community would like more than just "we don't have a date yet". How would you like to have a house built and and the developer just refused to give any dates. You would have an idea, and progress reports.

Your smart ass reply to me, who has been a vocal supporter for your coin is not greatly appreciated. There are too many haters. If you want to have any hope of gaining respect of the community, maybe you should engage a PR guy, because I am losing faith in your ability to be respectful to your community. All your energy seems to be aimed at defending yourself. Spare a little for driving the coin in the right direction.

Do you pay people who build homes? Yes. That is why they are obligated to provide time frames. (We all know how accurate a construction workers time frames are) I doubt you contracted him to make the coin, thus he is not obligated to tell you anything. If he says hes working on it, be happy and stop pressuring people. Crypto is basically in alpha test phase and you guys hound people so much its hard to get work done. In any field while product is being developed there are time frames that cannot be accounted for. Did apple show a teaser of the iphone6 and then say coming xx date and time? No, because technologies are developed gradually, tested, then tested some more. You are lucky people are working on it at all, they are doing this without any money other than what their respective coins have brought them and it is hard to find people to trust in this world, especially sharing code.

Chill out with the same questions and let the Devs develop already!

Sadly the only thing that can save this coin is for Iconic to take it over.

You are basically passing a judgement under the garb of veiled and loosely put together logic and a vague sense of Bouzy-allegiance. I am not saying you are an alter ego of Bouzy but there is a difference between sparking a debate and blatant endorsement. This is the latter.

If you like iconic, go follow him to whatever his new coin is going to be.  The community that he brought with him never was the Libertycoin community, and they are gone now.  What remains is the real Libertycoin community.  If that is not to your liking, you should move on.

Why the anger at me for giving my honest assessment?  I put in good money and got left holding a bag just like everyone else here.  My assessment was not one sided and was very fair.  If you look at my history I have disagreed with Iconic on multiple occasions.  I disagreed when he suggested the BC pump.  I disagreed with how he handled the wall street donations.  To label me a groupie and tell me to just follow him is rather narrow sighted.  Read the history.  History don't lie.
People please read my entire post. Its not all IE bashing, only the beginning. The point is this idea that me and my girlfriend have been kicking around to try to promote adoption for XLB.

History lies ALL THE TIME! A nice recent example would be barabbas, who said exactly the same thing you just did. That he was one of IE's biggest critics. He also would invite people to check his history at every chance he could. Then IE posted screenshots of him and barabbas exchanging PMs. Turns out they were verified as being the same ip, so ya History lies all the time.

My main point howerver is that everyone accusing the Dev of being a dumper or not able to handle XLB, you gotta remember how this actually started, not the way people are spreading the story. The actual events leading up to Libertyday started off 24 hrs before when barabbas called for a hostile takeover of the coin, trying to give IE full Dev control. This was used to distract people for a while so IE could exit. He did it step by step the same way with BC.

Hindsight being what it is, I am forever going to stay faaaaar away from any coin with supporters like them. Im reading so much of their FUD lately that I have become very adept at spotting Iconic's style of writing, even when he changes it up to make it look like he doesn't speak english very well. That's right, I spotted you already. Just avaoid some of the new FUD spreaders, you are so transparent it's easy to see where it is coming from.

In summation:
The future of Liberty will be defined with adoption. We have to move this coin away from being used primarily as a method of accruing BTC and into a realm of being able to use XLB in the real world. That is where a coins staying power comes in. I am also looking into a fiat to XLB exchange with a system that encourages people to buy XLB rather than sell it. A reward system with points that could be used with merchants, or members of the community offering goods for points. I really think this will revolutionize XLB and make it something other than an exchange coin. I am welcome to everyone's suggestions of ways to improve upon the idea. Remember not just opening the fiat to XLB exchange, but making it something that people have a good incentive to WANT to do it. Make it a sweet deal or clever promoting and we can figure it out. (some) People here are brilliant!

Templar77, I fully support you and I am sorry that people are trying to blame you for this crap that went down. I dont give a shit at all who sold what, I've sold XLB at almost every price range. That is everyone's right! I also bought at almost every price range, so I still hold quite a bit. I know you do too so you still care about this coin. The fact that you are still around and trying to do things with the coin tells me all I need to know. A scammer would have just raged and come back repeatedly to spread FUD out of spite with fake accounts. You are still here updating us and that says a lot. Ignore the people spreading FUD and better yet, don't even entertain them with replies, it only feeds the trolls. The only way to make them go away is to stop feeding them.

Have a great day everyone, YAY!

Edit: also why people say the multipool was a scam? I got my payments. They don't pay out every day but they did pay out while I mined with them

some crap
thats why I asked for people to tell me, I did not know what pool they were talking about. So thanks for that, even if you did answer in the trolliest, Iconic style FUDiest manner possible. Was that Templar's pool or is he getting blamed for somebody else's pool?

24hash.com was set up by the 2 scammers. they paid out some miners while they kept the bulk (it speculated around 3 million, but could be more). It was Templar77/Carlos RT Ferguson and loljosh the teen ager Canadian (not fully confirmed yet, that that;s in effect loljohn, but will soon). But you want to believe what you want to believe, even if that includes that I am a martian. So up to you or up yours, whatever best fits the bill, ok?
[/quote]

the only things i read were "its speculated" and "not Confirmed"

CLASSIC!!!

ok now you're on ignore too! YAY!

Some random shit...

Do you believe the stuff you post, or you know it is BS and you just post it anyway. The dev scammed us all and there is hard proof.

In regards to barabbas...so for nearly 2 weeks I bitterly argued with myself for what purpose? I remember when idiots were posting I was from India because of my IP and then when I posted NYC local papers they STFU. I do not need to pretend to be someone else, I love being me.

Give it up, you were caught 3 different times now. You are more insane than I thought. As for your proof, you've got none. So the Dev got the first blocks? WHO CARES THATS HOW EVERY COIN GOES. It takes a bit once the wallets passphrase gets released to set up. That does not mean it's premined. More IE diestraction FUD because his other FUD was proven to be just FUD. It's clear as day that you tried to steal the coin the night before Liberty day, BEFORE you tried your "OMG the devs dumped tactic" How did that work with BC? I hear its still alive without you. Do you still cry at night? Libertycoin is stronger without you even if it is trading lower.  I'm putting you barabbas, brammien and your wife, trioste on ignore and even if you reply to me on your alts, im no longer gonna fall for your baits, Im gonna be the bigger man and just ignore it.

Au revoir.

*Puts down popcorn*
