221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust bitcoin holders? on: May 08, 2024, 06:34:21 AM
Since bitcoin promotes mostly anti-government, banks, etc.

I am wondering; Do you trust bitcoin holders?

Point of correction, you can't be a Bitcoin holder and also an anti-bank person.

You need money to survive, so your salary will still go into your bank account, you also can't spend your Bitcoin in the real world without changing it into Fiat and that Fiat will head into your bank account.

Look around you and tell me how many stores are accepting crypto payment? It would have been a different case if Bitcoin is widely accepted this days, I as a person would totally stop using the bank for good but it is not going to happen.

Stooping the bank is like stopping the government, the only solution is co-existing, and let's not forget that the government will forever keep hating on any invisible ways of spending money, because of criminals and illegal activities, they won't want such, so Bitcoin money to bank account is inescapable.

222  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn a skill instead, you will be set for life. on: May 08, 2024, 05:56:01 AM
OP, your topic title and the thread content do not match. The story you linked is one of a wealthy man (old money I presume) who is involved in illegal activities, it’s not a matter of having a skill or not. This person is obviously not lacking in their finances.

Using Bitcoin or other privacy coins doesn't mean your transactions are untraceable but if you know what you're doing it's difficult to be tracked.
Bitcoin is not a privacy coin, all bitcoin transactions are public information. Trying to use it as such will take extreme effort from your end. Privacy coins like monero are more suitable for those purposes.
I heard you, it is like what someone also said that this person is from a rich home anyways, if he isn't lacking why is he into illegal activities?

If you are very rich and you have children, you don't need to teach them the right from wrong, just let them do what they like because they have a rich father or rich family.

How is my topic not matching? That I am telling people either from rich home or not to abstain from illegal activities and instead they should learn a skill atleast to start making money, how is this not matching?

For someone who is into drug trafficking and other illegal things, how is telling them to learn a skill instead not making sense? When you have your kids teach them how to pass drugs around and see what happens.

Maybe you should read the whole content again.
223  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 07, 2024, 12:17:50 PM
To me it is not about the percentage that I should sacrifice to gambling activities, you need to come up with an amount, assuming you are using $30 for gambling, let it be this $30, because it is all you can afford to lose in gambling, so even if you are making $1000 from your job you still need to keep using $30 in gambling.

Let's say you start getting more than $1000 every month, you don't need to increase this amount, because $30 is what you can always afford to lose, stick to this amount and keep growing, remember that gambling might not get you anywhere, instead use money to invest in assets.

Investing in assets will bring you a better future, you could get lucky in gambling  as well but this strategy won't make you relax on gambling, keep risking $30 every time in a month and that's it for gambling side, but take more risks in investment.

Why? Investments bring promised results and gambling is like catching the air, which do you think is likely to come true?
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: 1xbit violated self exclusion terms, do not want to help on: May 07, 2024, 11:16:33 AM
Anyone who uses 1xbit deserves to get scammed, sorry to say but this is true, you choose to use a gambling platform that has bad ratings and reviews on this forum, you saw it coming so don't come on here looking for people who will fight your fight, you can't win this one so just deal with it.

This platform is a shameless piece of crap, what is there to protect you from? They don't even care about their reputation being ruined and so far it has been ruined and they still end up scamming people like you.

You can't clear anything with 1xbit, there is no way you can do it and no one will help you, not even the authorities, so stop fooling yourself, accept your losses and be thankful that the amount isn't even very large, next time be careful about the casinos you choose to use for gambling.
225  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do to get merit reward? on: May 07, 2024, 07:32:55 AM
Hello everyone, I have been here for a few weeks/months now but I'm yet to receive "merit" so I'm just worried, please can someone tell me what I will need to do or how long I will need to be here for before I get merit and other rewards?

On here, some posts are made in the hope of getting merits while some are created out of genuinity, the fact side of this is people will see through it, my dear friend my advice is to be a realistic.

Don't fake anything on here, drop your opinions, and write just like the way you feel even if it will look bad in the face of many, your words define who you are and the truth is always not so friendly.

Forget merits, engage in discussion, this will reveal your intention on here, and merits will find you when it is right, some opinions will touch some members and they will have no other choice than to send you merits.

Remember, be the real you.
226  Other / Beginners & Help / Learn a skill instead, you will be set for life. on: May 07, 2024, 06:46:53 AM
Hi everyone, here is another example why you can't and shouldn't launder money using cryptocurrency.

https://crypto.news/heir-to-cartier-empire-arrested-for-attempted-money-laundering-using-usdt/

Many newbies and beginners believe that crypto is a way they can move funds without the government knowing, you are wrong, in fact crypto is a very bad way of laundering money, everything you do can be traced.

This guy is charged with drug trafficking and laundering of funds using USDT, I can't stop laughing when I read this news, USDT that's even wired to clap on illegal funds, it is centralized in and out.

If your source of money is not clean, crypto is not your home, where you should feel safe.

Some people might say why USDT, but let me tell you, even with Bitcoin and others you can still be traced, you will leave some footprint behind, it could take longer but one day, you will make a mistake.

Abstain yourself from illegal ways of making money, learn a skill and you will be set for life.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think casinos can stop demanding KYC? on: May 05, 2024, 05:49:18 AM
Casinos existed without the need for KYC's until the government made it a requirement, and they started demanding it. IMO If the government no longer requires casinos to do KYC verification for new gamblers, casinos will go ahead and still do KYC verifications because they have seen the benefits of knowing their customers better than when they just allowed people to come onto their platform and gamble without their knowledge of who they were. What do you think? Do you think some casino's will revert back to non-KYC and allow money launderers, plus other fraudulent people have their easy way with them as a way to attract customers, or since they recognize the personal benefits of KYC to their casino, will continue demanding it even if it affects their customers?
the objective of kyc is not for government is to be assure of the particular account so that they will not be commitment of any site fraud with the such a particular account government cannot demand for kyc verification of any account it is that particular platform that will demand for it because they know actually what is their target and there are selective to know people who want to patronize them I think about it should be the essence of having a KYC

What are you saying? Who gave the online casino the go-ahead to operate? Isn't it the government? Who is regulating this online casino? Isn't it the government? Why do you think that these online casinos are asking for KYC? It is what the government ordered them to do.

They are doing this because there might come a time when an investigation needs to be carried out, and if all members already submit their information they will be able to do their investigation on each member using the casino, there will be no room for illegal funding and embezzlement of funds and other criminal activities.

Terrorism is a disease, drugs hurt society, and these are wars that the government has to fight, I don't blame them for monitoring humans, there are many bad eggs among the good ones even while the government rules, there are still many illegal activities, let them do their thing, they are just trying to protect their people.
228  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC.Game asking for KYC before letting me Withdraw on: May 04, 2024, 10:25:57 AM
Thanks, their ANN doesnt allow to comment on it though?
What's the error you encountered when you're trying to post on their ann? I see it's not lock yet and i as far as i remember there is no newbie restriction posting on some threads though.

It works now, ty. I just posted in their AN.

Beginners need to learn from this, the importance of ANN can't be beaten, just imagine if such never existed, it will be harder to fix this problem, and there are some people that will still choose online casinos that have no ANN on this forum, it is complete stupidity.

If a online casino cares about their reputation they will always respond to their ANN page, it is a good place to solve problems instantly, not even the casino email account or trying to reach them through telegram will solve this faster.

I  am glad that you are getting somewhere with your problem, this casino is a very reliable one, they have a long time reputation to protect so they will solve yoit issue, you just have to comply with everything you are been asked to do.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a medium for donations on: May 04, 2024, 09:55:01 AM
I would love to be a part of this, I hate war and I am deeply sad every time I think about the Ukraine and Russia war, but I do have a question.

Since Ukraine is now a warring country, are you saying that their electricity still works? Are you saying that their internet is still up and running? How will they get BTC payment if the internet is down?

Or there is a small neighborhood country besides Ukraine that can get this job done for them? I am even thinking about how it's a disadvantage that Bitcoin can only work with the internet.

I also want to use this moment to thank everyone that is in support of this country, they need help, I can't just imagine myself been in such bad state that they are, it is scary and inhuman at the same time, so sad.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: May 04, 2024, 08:50:16 AM
Gambling can be anyone's hobby, this sits right with me but choosing gambling as my hobby is something I don't want to do at all, I would prefer to turn something thats not about luck into my hobby to avoid getting addicted to it.

I watch my time spent on online casinos and I always use small amounts of money, even while I gain some excitement from this I know it is not something I can waste a lot of time on, the more time I spend on gambling the more hurtful it will become.

I would rather choose something else, like playing football or watching movies. These are for free, I can play as many rounds as I want until I get exhausted and I can also watch as many movies as I want, this is a true hobby, in a safer manner but not gambling.

Always protect yourself if you choose gambling as your hobby, it is dangerous.
231  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does it mean the poor can't breath anymore? on: May 04, 2024, 07:49:03 AM
Yes I have read some post where some of the beginner are mostly being attack due to inability to understand how the forum works, and for them to ask some question they needs clarification but at last got attack. I am not against of anyone attacking each others but let it be a way that everyone including the newbie has some little air space to breath than in every single discussion you would see those who calls themselves overall rank would come attack, either by saying your post doesn't belong here and there, low quality post, lack of English, poor English, etc. okay, must everyone be a graduate as you are? No

So, Yes they are new people I know they are and (you that is reading this post were once a newbie) and as then you didn't know it all right? Even if one happens to go check your post history there would be lot lapse and mistake on your profile which would contain lot of shit-post and you started from a step before what so called rank you have achieved currently that is ringing your f**king brain as  if you are superior to everyone. My dear you gat f**k down your anus and give people space to understand forum gradually with the way they think is best for them, correct people but no attack if you are attacking then what true messages are you passing after knowing the true vision bitcoin and it's representatives.

Correct without hate words, learn without getting offense, and speak with love. By so doing everyone would be welcomed to the community!
Thank you all.

You took this too far mate, it looks like you are the victim here, you are simply fighting for yourself, I feel your pain, we've all been there but take it easy, some will correct your mistake in a friendly way and some will correct you as if they are fighting you, but the way you wrote this topic makes me feel like you will harm someone in real life if they harshly correct you.

I have been corrected in both ways on this forum before, there are few ones that I don't like, OK how about this?

I created a topic about my father and how I was unable to pay him bad after all he did for me, and he is dead, will you believe that someone on this forum made a joke out of it? I was writing the topic in pain and that was someone reaction, it was painful but I just let it go.

You need to let it go mate, but what they are actually trying to correct could be true, have you checked yourself out? Try fixing it and stop taking it to heart, this is the only way you will improve.
232  Bitcoin / Mining / If you can't afford to pay for electricity don't do mining on: May 04, 2024, 06:49:45 AM
I have a friend in an African country called Ghana who is a crypto trader, days ago he called me to ask about Bitcoin mining and I am pretty sure that he is very interested and ready to spend a hefty amount of money, I was happy to be a part since he wants my advice on how to go about it.

What I don't like about the plan is how he wants to set up 20 Asic miners using illegal electricity, I told him to drop the idea, there is no way he won't be caught sooner or later, we are still on the matter, and I do hope he listens.

Fast forward to Yesterday, I saw this online, happening in Thailand right now, this wasn't the first time, months back, some illegal mining farms in Thailand were bursted, 40 Bitcoin miners here and another 50 in an underground area in different locations, now it is becoming a tug of war for Thailand government.

https://english.alarabiya.net/News/world/2024/05/03/thailand-police-raid-illegal-bitcoin-mining-operation-

I don't understand why people are becoming so greedy with Bitcoin mining.

How can you have the money to buy 690 Asic miners, thats millions of dollars and you plan to plug all these miners using illegal electricity? There is no way the electricity association won't know that something is up, it is only a matter of time.

Also, if one can have millions of dollars to invest in Asic miners, one won't be spending this much to buy lots of Solar panels at discounts from companies directly, maybe six figures in buying panels and it will do, then use the grid power at night and Pay For the Grid.

If you are doing this it is better to stop, or you might end up in the prison and you will lose a lot of money, your Asics will be destroyed or seized not never exist again,  it is not a must to start mining Bitcoin and if you want to do it, please do it the right way.

Abstain from illegal mining operations.

234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest in Bitcoin because others are investing in Bitcoin on: May 03, 2024, 11:39:10 AM
When you want to invest in Bitcoin don't because people is investing in Bitcoin and you invest, I prefer taking my time to make a research before I invest on Bitcoin, Bitcoin invest is good but when you don't take your time to invest in Bitcoin then you will invest wrongly, the first time I invested I did not follow anyone step rather I do follow the research I made before I invest, some persons does not control emotions before they invest they follow a side news to invest on Bitcoin and that is why some of them do experience hard luck for their invest, in summary invest when you want to invest, don't follow the crowd but follow your instinct

Is it just Bitcoin investment? Nah, this advice is for everything else that has to do with investment, don't invest in something you know nothing about, not even if you know too less, make sure you spend time doing research first.

I had no money when I came across Bitcoin and I ended up having a lot of time to do research, almost everyday I would write up about Bitcoin and after I did this I embarked on Bitcoin mining, I end up understanding a lot about Bitcoin, if I had money from the beginning I could have rushed it up.

Lack of patience with Bitcoin among beginners is because they have the money to risk, they prefer to invest first and learn later and this have made many people yo lose their hard-earned money.

235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which device do you prefer for gambling ? on: May 03, 2024, 10:28:48 AM
Desktop and laptop are not computers. No need of differentiating them into category. Refer to them as PC.

I do not have a tablet. I wish to have one but I did not have because I have laptop and phone which are enough. But gambling will be very good on tablets just like PC.

I gamble more on phone because my phone is always with me than my laptop. But laptop is better. Phones are excellent also actually.
Desktops and Laptops are not computers just because he failed to ad d computer side Desktop computers and Laptop computers? We all get what he is saying either ways, he is talking about computers anyways, I understand and I am sure many people did too, as you can see, you are the only one saying this, no one cares.

Bigger screens are my favourite, even in trading the difference is big, you can see the details very well, I will love to gamble on a computer because of the gaming experience as I prefer slots more than anything else.

Gambling on phone is easier but not all online casinos look nicer on a smartphone screen, the choice is yours though, also I don't want to keep gambling on phone because it could trigger more reasons to keep gambling for me, apart from reading and posting using my phone on this from, I prefer doing other things like trading and gambling on my computer.
236  Other / Off-topic / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: May 03, 2024, 09:15:45 AM
Anything you do in this life is risky.

If you drive, you have a chance to clash.

If you work in corporate jobs, you have a chance to suffer hemorrhoid.

Gambling is just one thing from other many risky things you did, so why you need to bother about it?

The only thing on which i could really be able to apply this line is through investment and not in gambling:
"No risk,No reward" ?
However, in the reality most people choose "Loss with risk".

Because they choose to save their money and hold in banks, as we know the value of fiat always declining every year and there's a risk banks will bankrupt. Rather than choosing loss and risk at the same time, it's better for people to choose reward and risk e.g. invest in Bitcoin.

Not all risks in life should be classified as risk, some are life threatening, all in the name of no risk no rewards is why some people from a good family will decide to rob a bank or kidnap someone to ask them for ransom, and they ended up losing their lives through gun shot from the police.

Armed robbers too believe that in this life everything is about risk, but to me not all risks are worth taking, just because I could escape and avoid getting caught which will eventually netting me some money doesn't mean I should become a criminal, even if its for the day, that first day could spell the end for me.

In this life, not all risks are worth taking, some are better off avoided, to pay the price of my early Bitcoin investment I got sick, instead of me using money to invest from a salary I decided to starve myself, nothing is truly free in life, we must be smart enough to wager the risk and reward first.

It's not everyone thats gambling today is supposed to be a gambler, but people don't think, not after they found themselves in such a shit hole.
237  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Readability but inability to put in practice becomes investors challenges on: May 03, 2024, 07:34:56 AM
I could remember back in the days at the college, we barely read our books but only during exams especially when we finds others reading and after reading we still don't grab anything in the head. It was usually one of those dump heads then.

I came to understand that even here in the bitcointalk forum being a platform to build our bitcoin investing carriers, some forum memebers also reads and complies to posts in the platform with the inabilities to acquire practicalizing knowledges for their investments.
So basically they're like once logout from the forum they literally lost those informations shared amongst that's to be a tool for their bitcoins journey.
This is why we're faced with spamming and usually related threads trending in the forum and this could certainly be responsible of the setbacks to some Investors who're unabled to reach a specific height to their bitcoin dream.
This inability to acquire valuable knowledges had also insighted us with fears to acquire technical knowledge indebts to this bitcoin industry.

Hmm, good one OP, apart from spamming, this explains why some members on this forum screamed out about getting scammed after they took matters into their own hands, something they could have prevented by just asking a simple question.

They already knew that this forum is here to solve problems or crypto related issues, when the create a topic believe it that they already made the mistakes now they want some sympathy.

The costly mistakes I made in crypto was before I found this forum, I had no one, not a single teacher to guide me right when I was new to Bitcoin, I made almost all the mistakes in crypto space, and when I found this forum I was like, why now? Where was this before I started my crypto journey?

I don't blame them, some people don't even know what they want, there are thousands of accounts in this forum that are no more active, I bet many gave up, I have introduced like 4 people to this forum all because they want to learn about crypto, at first they are active but after they stopped, they got tired.
238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible to create a signed message with Binance? on: May 03, 2024, 06:41:42 AM
Am I the only one who thinks that OP is not talking about the Binance exchange but the Binance chain? I bet this is the case.

I am also curious, I will like to ask the audience, is it possible to use any non custodial wallet to sign messages?

Or let me put it this way, apart from Bitcoin and it's non-custodial wallets, are the signing of messages possible on other blockchains, altcoins, or projects if they are on a non custodial wallet?

I asked because till date I've never tried it elsewhere.

Thank you.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No risk no gain on: May 02, 2024, 10:22:06 AM
I first heard about Bitcoin around 2016 but then I had no idea what Bitcoin was. Someone online was saying to work on it because I don't know anything about it. Then I heard about Bitcoin again in 2022 when the price of Bitcoin was 21000 dollars. I did a little research on Bitcoin and saw that it was good. From whom I heard, I said to a brother, brother, let's invest. Buy a bitcoin and keep it.Fifty percent and I invested fifty percent but that brother did not agree then. Day by day the price of Bitcoin was increasing and the price was going up and down around 25, 30, 31 thousand dollars. Still I told my brother to invest but he did not agree. That price eventually reached 74 thousand dollars. I regretted very much why I didn't take a risk. If you want to do something, you have to take a risk, nothing happens without a risk.

It seems like your brother is the one who have the spare money that is worth using for investment and not you? If not you won't be forcing him to buy Bitcoin when you have none yourself, am I right or wrong?

I also wonder what will happen right now if you Bought at 74k and now it is down to 57k, how will you feel? You haven't even taste failure before, i expect that you will react and your emotions will get the best of you, maybe sell the Bitcoin in fear that 74k was the top.

Many people already sold right now, they can't withstand to see losses in their portfolios, my advice for people like you is to consider Bitcoin only if you have spare money that you can afford to lose, just think if you already bought Bitcoin at 74k, you will feel very hurt if you use money that you aren't ready to lose.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don’t like the term “crypto” on: May 02, 2024, 09:26:53 AM
Many people hate the term crypto, but many communities hope to get rich from cryptocurrency, right or not? Many potential cryptos can provide huge profits in the upcoming bull run. The only sad thing is that other cryptos are used by scammers for bad things.

But overall, not all cryptos are bad; rather, it helps if we do some research before investing in any cryptocurrencies. Because if we don't do any research about it, we might fall into crypto hype only.
This is a personal matter, some like it, some don't, why some of us don't like crypto because we have our own views, some see this as a loss and some see this as an advantage, it cannot be denied that there are good and bad things.
Crypto is not wrong in my opinion, it's just that some of us who are involved in the crypto world, many of them don't understand and don't want to find out first before starting, many people misunderstand crypto price movements which makes them frustrated and don't like crypto.

Sorry to say but to me it feels like people are hurt when it comes to alternative coins, they must have made terrible mistakes with altcoins and they ended up focusing on Bitcoin only, yet the hate lives in them till date, I read some comments in this thread and that is the vibe that I am getting, even from high ranking members on the forum, it's just sad.

I can't imagine myself saying that Bitcoin isn't a cryptocurrency, and the word crypto is just a short word for cryptocurrency, why are they trying to say otherwise then ? They all sound hurt, this is my believe.

Funny thing is, since I knew crypto I have made more money from alternative coins than Bitcoin, this doesn't make me hate any, even few altcoins scammed me but I learnt that i was the one lacking, so I got better at picking the right altcoins, so far I am doing well with all coins, including Bitcoin itself.

This is how it should be.
