221  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the unwritten rules of healthy life? on: April 13, 2024, 11:11:19 PM
For me, I think you want to eat good food, drink clean water, breathe good air, get lots of sleep, get lots of exercise, and do activities that keep you mentally sharp.  Also avoiding anything in excess that can lead to negative consequences.  This is why it's good to live somewhere with a lots of trees for good air, consider drinking clean water as opposed to soda, get lots of sleep, have a hobby that keeps you moving and thinking, and be somewhat conscious about what you eat.
Think this is just what every one needs but the situation of life have deprived alot of this things.

For me, as a very young man who is still growing, I have set this as the ideal goal, a life where I can have a good (healthy) food, drink clean water, have my rest as needed, regular workout (Exercise) and the rest of things in life wouldn't be my problem. As long as my desire is coming true and I'm making progress with my photography life, I believe I will be more healthy than ever.

If anyone could get all this, then happiness is not gonna be the problem because all this is happiness already.

In early years it was easy to believe the propaganda and FUD about Bitcoin because it was small and too early with little adoption to know any better. But from early years till today a lot of things have changed and so should have the opinion of those who fell for the FUD.

As an icing on the cake, 2020 was just the next best year to get into it. The network was much more mature, however underpriced. The risk reward ratio in 2020 was perhaps the best, if I had to choose. Maybe the second best is now, fingers crossed.
Exactly, in 2020 was the second best time one should have join the early investors but I didn't achieve that because I was very young. Although I'm still very young but then I would say I was a kid, I did hear of it but my parents, friends and my entire environment was not a technical knowledged people so they couldn't encourage my little information by supporting me with little cash they felt I was going to loss all the money so I didn't buy.

I have said this before, in a cyber cafe where I usually go to practice computer skills, I met people who already knew bitcoin but I don't know if they invested but they always talk about it, that lead me to know about it.

But at least at the end, I have bitcoin now in my Electrum wallet that I do check on frequently. I have a long term plan to hold it but in the main time I will still be adding little by little to it, if I missed the train before I can't miss it this time.

224  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Simple practices to improve trading (2). on: April 13, 2024, 10:02:24 PM
Thanks for the simple practice guide, I think here in this board this is my best for now.

Normally with a common sense one should be able to identify all this practices and follow them, even as I'm not into trading I know someone who is into it and the first told him as he complained about his losses is to join a community of traders. I believe it's one big practice that could motivate one to do better in trading.

I think emotional control has been a big problem for my friend, his not patient in life. He complains on every single thing that happens, not accepting things the way they are, he keeps losing because his not patient enough.

Aside this too I have mentioned I think, he needs a to know all this practices to keep him on track that's why I said thanks for the post. Perhaps it's very vital to people like me that will be venturing in to trading soon.

~Snip~
A lot of people are fascinated by the success of crypto investors and because they are so much attracted to the wealth or the luxury they see in investors they therefore request to invest in that which is making an investor successful but when the risk it been spread out they will either quit or go ahead to invest believing that they will be lucky not to meet the bearish season of the market but when it comes they scream like kids waking up from nightmares.

While reading the conversation in the image you posted OP, I burst into laughter because I feel it hilarious 😂 that the newbies is requesting for his funds back from the person who introduced them into it, forgetting that the person is not in charge of whatever happens to the coin. I don't really know what transpired between them but this is constantly happening where the newbies act like the person who introduced them is responsible for their loses but they profit they act like they meet heaven.

A lot of things happen in the market and that's why I'm afraid of introducing people into bitcoin investment, unlike right now as I'm speaking I just checked my Electrum wallet and bitcoin price has depreciated, but since it's a long term investment I don't care what happens now, but till the next few years. So we should let people know the volatility of the market (risk) in order not to face situations like this. Hence our one research is paramount for a successful crypto investment.

Honesty is the best policy.
This the exact quote that my parents used to trap me as a kid.

I even read books title the same thing.

But truly Honest is the best policy; if anyone is honest enough to let the newbies know the truth of the market, how volatile it is then they will have no queries to answer.
226  Economy / Economics / Re: If being a graduate is the key to being wealthy, why are there poor graduates? on: April 13, 2024, 09:07:31 PM
Basically, education is not the key to success but it's one of the key to success.

Long term ago when it was still the era of education where after graduation you will have to get a job and be considered a successful man or woman that's when education was very necessary for everyone.

In this current generation you only need education of only the area of which you which to venture into requires it hence one can just be focused in any area of their choice and learn from there hence become successful in the business.

Another thing I have observed is that a lot of people have misconception of education, although the meaning of education is learning something new but we considered it to be high institution learning rather learning in general. If it's considered education generally then it's very very important to be successful.

When we dive into lower society, don't expect them to understand enough about education. When you graduate from college and return to society, they will never ask what major you took during college, because they will assume that the graduate is a versatile person who knows everything. and they often assume that those who graduate from college and get a bachelor's degree are someone who has a decent job in an agency and has a high income. And I personally have experienced this, where when I had graduated a few months and returned home, I received questions from the community about where I work and the wages I get every month, and when they found out that the wages I got were much smaller than with those who didn't go to college, that's where my patience started to be tested, I received ridicule from them and they even thought that education was useless. I can't close the mouths of those who continue to ridicule me, other than closing my ears tightly, and trying to keep moving forward in order to achieve success.
This kind of experience of yours is a good example of why education shouldn't be the primary aim if it's not required for the part which you choose in life.

I have seen a lot of graduates out there without a job, the response they get from the society out there is very terrible but the problem doesn't end there, if they stay without a well paid job for a long time it will lead to depression. And it was almost the same situation with you, but the difference is that you decided not to give an ear to such response.
227  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I disagree that each person has the right to choose their own path in life. on: April 13, 2024, 06:11:58 PM
It's true that a lot of parent's nowadays want their children to fulfil the part which they couldn't meet up or for the successful once they desire their children to maintain the legacy which they have built but that doesn't change the fact that every adult have the right to decide their future.

Our parents can only sharp our lives to their desire at a very certain age but after then we have all right to make our own decisions at that point they don't have any right over you. We have what is call ideal lifestyle and actual lifestyle, it means that the ideal decision is for everyone to decide what they want to be but the actuality is that our parents/guardians decides what we will be.
228  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be more visible in the forum as a beginner on: April 13, 2024, 01:25:11 PM
So I think by now you should know that you're being biased with the information you just passed here in the forum, maybe you have been battling to understand the conversation going on in the above mentioned boards. But it's quite a matter of time, nobody suspects you for having meaningful conversations or for creating quality threads or posts but you only get suspected if truly you are an alt.

For me I have been discussing in different threads, as long as I'm conversant with the discussion I will contribute the little I know. For the technical discussions, what I did was just to read and try out things that I know yet, by trying them out I get experience that I use to contribute to conversations.

There is a frequent advise that I have been hearing since I registered here, that only discuss what you know or find sections of the forum that you understand better and discuss there. It's very simple, the areas you understand better might not be the areas I understand so it's an individual thing.
229  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: EFCC to arrest businesses that accept payment in dollar. on: April 13, 2024, 01:31:04 AM
I can see that this government is putting a lot of efforts to put out the issues of naira-dollar but where the development is giving me concern is that even with the rate at which naira has gain value the nation products and business still over price everything which is begining to make things more hard than before.

Now I believe whatever is the desire of this present government they can achieve them very fast just as they are doing with dollar rate.

Now for business that use dollar as means of payments are to be arrested but where the problem lays is the fact that they are not small businesses, they are either organisations or cooperations that operate here in Nigeria, and even the government personnel one way or the other benefit from this companies, so how then can they hold them captive ? That is my only concern but let's watch and see how it goes.
230  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Discussion] Family decision towards kids upbringing. on: April 13, 2024, 01:13:59 AM
I frequent times I have seen alot of people complain of how poor parents bring up their kids now and it's as a result of the feminism that as taken the hearts of many women that they took deserve the right to work and make a good living, the part of them have a good job is not a problem but where it lays it where the children gets a mistreatment because both parents are away when the children needs them most. It will be nice that mothers keep good eyes on their children to observe and train them in the right ways.

Most of the roles of parents has been shifted from the father and mother to teachers in school where they only dump the children from morning till night then they pick them up tired and stressed at the end they might not even look at the children to observe them very well, the consequences of this is that children might ended up believing that they are not loved or if they got a nanny they tend to lean or the nannies more than their children.

The family financial and work life should balanced ant that's the only way to cope with this current societal problem.

232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not forget your Bitcointalk account password!!! on: April 13, 2024, 12:23:08 AM
Personally I have suffer some issues with email password and accessing my school portal, that has thought me a lesson that I can't forget easily hence I always make sure my passwords are not understandable by anyone apart from me.

I also have a diary where I write all my passwords, to every account I have ever created, I wrote them down, believing that I will not forget the password but yet I have to be sure incase the other wise happens.

This a very big issue that is been neglected by many as long as they don't have any money here in the forum, it's just an account if it gets hacked they will create another one without knowing what could happen if your account is being accessed by hackers, so it's very important that we save guard our logins, whether it's our forum logins or any other accounts it's very important to have them backed up in a save place.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: April 12, 2024, 11:11:05 PM
Perhaps a lot of people missed the opportunity of investing in bitcoin while it was at it's early stage and thus altcoins as the name implies are there to act as bitcoin in the aspect of making your the expected profit which you would have gotten if you invested in bitcoin from the beginning.

Bitcoin has some flaws and altcoins are here to cover up for this flaws which it has, as Ethereum for example is an alternative coin that was coined as a result of the flaw of bitcoin having limited supply which is 21million and now Ethereum trying to cover for bitcoin was created in a manner that if doesn't have a limited supply, what it's saying essence is that the more the population of ethereum adopters  the likely they are to realise a new number in other to reach us all.

Another example of importance is when the network is congested altcoins are used for payment as a result so it does count.

I'm curious as to which flaws does Bitcoin have? If you mean scaling issues, that's no longer a problem thanks to the inception of L2 networks (like the Lightning Network) and sidechains. And the transparency of the Bitcoin Blockchain is more of a feature than a bug. It helps us detect criminal activities on-chain, which is not possible on privacy-focused Blockchains. Corruption can't happen on a transparent ledger anyone can audit.
Perhaps the choice of word is the misconceptions here, its obvious that bitcoin doesn't have the said flaws but in a common sense bitcoin is not as private as monero, which is another feature that bitcoin can't offer.

So, I don't know if I should classify that as a flaw that bitcoin has.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would you measure your success in Crypto currency on: April 12, 2024, 11:01:16 PM
I can't explain all how cryptocurrency has helped my life, but definitely it's has been my only means of survival. I'm a student and I depend solely on the little commission my family gives me on a monthly basis but at some point it became very little compared to the challenges we face as students in school. Since I knew about cryptocurrency I have been achieving a greater height.

Long term ago I mined some shit coin that was launched on binance and later sold them for cash and since then I have been chasing different crypto currencies now I'm using my earnings to accumulate bitcoin in my Electrum account and after then I will also use the profit to do some greater goals. So basically, crypto has been a means of survival. And lastly I can't forget how I recieved different money from my cousin who is outside the country via bitcoin as means of payment, for long we have been facing the problem of receiving directly from him but since I know how cryptocurrencies works we don't long stress.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is alt season likely to be? on: April 12, 2024, 09:33:16 PM
From my little knowledge I believe altcoins follow with the price of bitcoin.

So I'm only expecting the Altcoin season to come when bitcoin price surges high. So if you already hold the altcoins that you believe on them it just a matter of patience and as soon as bitcoin surges high now boom Altcoin season will be here already.

Since we are over the first quarter of the year I'm likely expecting the Altcoin season to begin soon because in few weeks bitcoin will boom and then Altcoin season will follow the steps.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: April 12, 2024, 04:28:07 PM
But one person will flip a coin  Smiley
If I'm obsessed with gambling then I will chose to take the risk of 5 BTC but if I'm not worth 1 BTC yet I will take 1 BTC and move on.

But some times one can take a risk and it turns out well for the person and I will like to be that one person that will take the risk and gamble for 5 BTC. But this will depend on my risk management, if I can take big risks I will definitely go for 5btc.

Do you have the 1 btc now? Huh So I can flip the coin ?  Grin
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it right to advice other people against gambling for personal reasons like?? on: April 12, 2024, 03:58:41 PM
There are some people who have this kind of attitude of discouraging others based on their own experiences, and this same kind of people can also discourage people too not to take part in what has benefited them in order to keep all the profits to themselves.

The post is just a testimonial of an irresponsible man seeking relevance in the society, from the obvious he was even more stupid to have lost such an amount and announced it on a social media expect he didn't lose the money but a story.

The risk in gambling is what has been written all over the place, everyday people see this warnings and ignore them but later they start blabbing how bad gambling is. If you decide to take the risk it shouldn't be extended to others that the rule of gambling.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would a gamblers statistics in graph and chart form, be of any help? on: April 12, 2024, 03:40:51 PM
The idea is quite an innovative one but I don't think casinos (online casinos) would love to include such features to their websites as they might be thinking that it's a way to loss customers who gambles on a regular.

If such a idea is bought, it will surely help the conscious gamblers who are responsible enough to control how they gamble, ones they see that they are loosing too much they will quit and try to re-strategize how they gamble the next time hence it could lead to a more responsible gambling habit or pull some people out of addiction. But that will be if there is already a measure or an analysis of how an addiction can be observed because some people might not be addicted but loss regularly or win regularly so it's going to be a tough time determining how addiction can be described or measured.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: April 12, 2024, 01:23:29 PM
The fact that some people have a different perception of gambling that could be the reason why they hide to gamble. In some areas in my country, gamblers are seen as some kind of weird people who take part in bad acts but while it's actually not bad but the ideology of the people around is that gamblers are bad people so when some people who gambles wants to do it they kind of hide to do it not that people hide to gamble.

I have seen people gambling online casinos while travelling in a public vehicle but because it's not seen as a bad act over there it's normal for them but in some areas where it's not too acceptable then the gamblers have to hide to do what they love.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is gambling to you, a fanfare or potential financial havoc? on: April 12, 2024, 01:14:45 PM
The view of gambling is very intertwined but at the end it's all about fun. No matter the end result of a gambler we should know that first it was out of love for fun that turn into greed which could lead to the bad effects we find in most gamblers.

Where we can draw a line between fun and getting addicted is knowing your limits. It's fun to gamble but when you exceed your limit which you can accept with clear conscience then it's not longer a fun act but a greed intense action to either make ones self proud or to achieve a goal of making a cool cash.

So at the end every one should know the level which they can accept whatever they put into gambling, if you derive joy from gambling then stick with the fun not stake what can not afford to loose that when lost you will continue to chase losses that will lead to addiction.
