I have noticed some issues in the past with addresses that have extremely large amounts of transactions. These can take more time for Electrum to process or for the wallet to open. That particular wallet file was quite large and wasn't opening correctly at one point. Eventually it did start working for me though but it does seem that Electrum may struggle a little bit with these types of wallets.

Yep, the seed is safe within Electrum so you don't need to worry about that. Just be sure that you encrypt your wallet with a password so it isn't stored in plaintext on the computer.
For the best level of security, a hardware wallet used with Electrum is your best option. The seed isn't visible to Electrum in this case as it is stored on the hardware device.

True, but nothing holds a candle to a full GPG verification of Thomas' signature, which he places on every official release.
Yeah, but that doesn't help people if they aren't on the right website or don't have ThomasV's signature since the fake websites also publish fake GPG signatures.

congrats bitdice, pre-sale has reached million dollar. i hope the other bitdice investors take the 5% extra bonus opportunity.
Yep, it has already surpassed 1 million and still steadily growing! A little over 8 days left in the presale now.

I have stored my coins in offline storage but I use the private keys to import my wallets into Electrum to do transactions. But my issue is after I am done using Electrum software, how do I get the Electrum program to delete my wallet so that someone else using my computer doesn't open up Electrum and use my coins?
You can and should encrypt the wallets with a password to ensure that no one else using the PC can access the wallets. If you want to delete a wallet entirely, you can find them located in the C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets\ directory on Windows.

Yeah, BCC really doesn't have any place in the official Electrum client. It is unnecessary and adds a lot of complexity to the software.
People should be taking proper precautions and doing the necessary research before running random software. They should be running it in a VM or something to help isolate it from their primary wallets and protect themselves.

I don't want to empty my wallet and start a new one because I have addresses I have given out to others.
I've been reading all this stuff about downloading an anonymously signed wallet (how can anything be anonymously signed? ) and all the warnings and caveats... Is there likely ever to be a safe and simple way to do this, or are we just stuck with messy kludges?
Honestly I am sick of this already! Those guys are supposed to be running a currency, but they are acting like a bunch of amateurs. I know it's not Electrum's fault...
Thanks
The best and safest way is to send your funds to a new wallet. In your case, that would involve updating any addresses you have given out to others. Unfortunately, there are risks if you want to continue to use the same wallet. It is recommended to run the BCC wallet in a VM or similar as to isolate it away from your existing wallets.

You should send your existing BTC coins to a new wallet with a new seed, then you can import your seed/private keys into a BCC wallet without risk of your BTC coins being affected.

I have a wallet in electrum with 2fa but I haven't yet imported it in Electron Cash (I sent BTC to a new standard wallet). I see there is a bug with 2fa. Is it difficult to fix it ? Where can we disable 2fa during the import ?
Do you advise me to use this wallet ? Is there a better solution ?
Many thanks.
The easiest way is to restore the seed into a new wallet. Restore and disable 2FA when prompted to "keep or disable" during the restore process.

Can someone who done this with electrum post step by step how to do this? This seems very complicated.
Also how long do you have before you can claim the bitcoin cash? So for example if you have 5 bitcoins in electrum, you get 5 bitcoin cash? Im confused here so basically its free money for every bitcoin that you have? Thus if someone has like 100 bitcoins, they are going to get 100 of these bitcoin cash?
Yes, that is correct. It is stored on a separate chain so you would have the exact same amount as you do with bitcoin and it would be spent separately. Check out 6Asmodeus6's reply earlier which mentions how you could claim it. It does take some work and requires running multiple wallets. On the same subject, I had bitcoin in a multisig (2 of 2) wallet using electrum before the August 2 fork. How do I send my BCH? Electron cash does not provide support for multisig I believe.
I have moved bitcoin to new wallet as per the advice provided, but do not know how to proceed from here.
Thanks.
Apparently support was added in a recent commit. If you download the source from github and run it via source, it may support it now.

Hello. How will i run the electron cash wallet from the source? I can't send anything because of same error.
The source can be downloaded at https://github.com/fyookball/electrum and it provides some directions on using it. This can be complex if you aren't used to running programs from source. Alternatively, you should be able to recreate the wallet as a normal wallet without 2FA as HCP indicated above.

It looks like they also provide a fake signature for verifying the binaries as it differs from the one on the legit site.
You definitely need to be careful and do more research before simply downloading a wallet from a random site. Hopefully this fake site can get taken offline quickly so that no others are fooled.

A little help here cause this is my first time. I wanted to participate and I contributed 0.05 BTC last night, it is a pre-sale and I wanted to get some extra coins. Now we wait ICO to finish ant that is it, we can buy more if we want? One more little thing, I registered for ICO but I do not have account on bitdice.io, do I need to make one?
Yeah, you can buy as much as you want during the ICO period. Coins will be distributed at the end on Sept 15th. Also, keep in mind the correct site is bitdice.me and not the one you mentioned if you wanted to register for an account.

Yes it is probably harmless then. It got flagged by the same AV as electrocash and for the same reason as well. So it's probably safe. Caution is still advisable though. Yeah, it is likely just a false positive and isn't malware. I'd still advise running in a VM or a separate PC to keep it isolated from your primary Electrum wallets just as a good general security precaution.

Are you already able to spend your Bitcoin Cash?
Yes, Bitcoin Cash is currently spendable as long as you are connected to a server with the right chain. Blocks are very slow at the moment though so expect to wait quite some time for any confirms.

There are many coins called DICE suffixes, but I think is very good and interesting project. I like to know who are the developers and their team.
This token will be called CSNO and doesn't contain any DICE suffix. BitDice is the company/site name and isn't the name of the coin. Be sure to check out the ICO page for more information on the project.

Just got tweet that Pre ICO is on. Is it available for all and what is the selling price in pre ICO compare to ICO.
The Pre ICO is available for all current investors of BitDice. There is an extra 5% bonus during the pre ICO.
|
|
|
Only a few hours left to register onto the Website then become eligible to the pre-ico.
Yep, you'll need to be an investor on the site before August 1 at 00:00 UTC to be eligible for the pre-ico which be opening very soon.
|
|
|
Yep, those steps are accurate. Although step 5 likely won't be necessary as importing the private keys should import the corresponding addresses as well. I'm not sure which BCC wallet I'll try to use yet, it looks like Electron Cash is still Coming Soon.
