221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Informatconciderion Thread on: October 14, 2015, 01:05:23 AM
Cryptsy's has their BTB wallet in maintenance right now. Guess we will see how it goes. The fork they are on has about 500 blocks more than the one 'we' are on. My gut feeling is that they will stay with the one they are on (I hope I'm wrong..) and we will have to switch - and see how much damage is done. I will probably loose about 60 Bitbars. all well, it's the way it goes sometimes.
I think I will flush the bitbar wallet from my laptop and see how hard it is to switch to the new chain. If successful, I will zip my wallet directory and put it on the Bitbar.co website.  It will take a while.

 Will you consider public mining on your pool when this all gets straightened out? I tried to convince H2C.com to offer it again but the poolmaster said he had a bunch of problems with it before and that there would be no promises of it ever coming back online.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 14, 2015, 12:57:38 AM
The research I conducted left more broken links, and non-support for Bitbar.

Out of the nine or ten pools that have mined BTB once, the only one left working is mastermining...

Their hash rate has decreased significantly, to about 1.5 mh.

This leads me to conclude that there is an entity out there with more hashing power than the entire network being monitored by Cryptocoinexplorer.com and mined by mastermining.

Basically they are solo mining the chain, the chain that Cryptsy seems to be accepting.

If they say, (cryptsy) they they have confirmed that bitbar has been sent to your account, I would take the address you gave them, dump the private Key in your Qt client, and save it somewhere with the arbitrary amount they say is assigned to that address.

I'm going to email Dreamwatcher @ CCE and let him know his block explorer is not being used, or isn't current with cryptsy.

Mastermining really needs to be notified as well... but here's the slippery slope.

When they (MM) take their pool down for maintenance, there will be no public pools mining Bitbar.

None. (At least from what I gather)

I was mining @ MM for BTB and stopped because of all the shenanigans.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 13, 2015, 07:02:13 PM
welp, I tried to withdraw from Cryptsy and the site says there was confirmation but I never received the coins.. I checked the block explorer they have listed in the BTB coin information page on Cryptsy and it is dead. I put in a ticket about the dead link and gave them btb.cryptocoinexplorer.com and they were like "Thanks a million buddy" and that's it...

Thinking it was fixed, I tried a test withdraw and no go..so still on a fork i guess. diff is like around 25 now according to their coin info page and like 7ish on the BTB.cryptocoinexplorer.com I guess since there are more people on that fork, Cryptsy will be sticking with it. But how do we get on that fork??? I wish i knew how to code, I would make this impossible to happen again somehow..
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 10, 2015, 04:17:34 AM
It looks as if me and 1 other person are the only people mining the whole network and we are both @ mastermining. I don't know of any other public pools that host BTB and you said you are mining something else right now. diff is down to like 14ish. I can tell the network hashrate is off @ mastermining but I think it suppossed to be .02GH instead of the .02MH it's showing. ouch, BTB dipped down to like .0015BTC right now. hmm should I move some BTC or not move some BTC? That is the question...

I wish Cryptsy would get Franko squared away already also.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 09, 2015, 11:02:42 PM
I am waiting for them to come back up some so I can sell some. I tapped myself out buying BTB! I could send some BTC to cryptsy but I wanna turn a lil profit and reinvest instead. I am patient. I made a killing on cryptobuk the other day so I am happy but I spent everything on BTB lol I'm still mining @ mastermining.net with about 20MH.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 09, 2015, 07:28:19 AM
Are you still mining on your pool right now?
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 05, 2015, 12:35:39 AM
I'm still receiving coins from mastermining.net last ones on 10/4/2015 2:24
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 04, 2015, 05:03:27 PM
ok I think something happened to FRK like that recently because I was mining it @ H2C and even sent coins to my wallet which never appeared (also their TX# don't show in the explorers) then I check back and see like every block I mined was orphaned. The wallet is still sitting in maintenance mode on Cryptsy...The poolmaster said he isn't putting Franko back up until Cryptsy's wallet comes out of maintenance mode. I think I understand now. I'm surprised the code wasn't written so that this can't happen in the first place but I've never DEV'ed a coin before either. Thanks for the explanation.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 04, 2015, 06:15:21 AM
I thought a fork is a change in the code. will you explain?
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 04, 2015, 05:38:02 AM
what fork? damned fork! what happened?

well, i linked this thread also so he could catch up on whats new with the coin, so kinda.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 04, 2015, 01:20:32 AM
Thats funny, I withdrew coins that very same day from Cryptsy and was successfull also! I contacted the poolmaster@Hash-to-coins.com with the updated info for the coin so hopefully he will put it back up to be mined soon. It's my favorite scrypt pool and I would rather mine it there.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official on: September 29, 2015, 07:37:11 AM
So is there a pool I can mine at?
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: September 29, 2015, 12:30:03 AM
I downloaded the zip instead from github, compiled that, and now:

...

Anyway... no blocks are accepted from mining still, this is starting to become ridiculous, please gather the correct information in one place so everyone can join this coin and not only a handful of enthusiasts that sit quiet and don't answer..

Please advice!

My users are waiting to mine this coin..

/Bejjan

you can now download a bitbar-master.zip at Bitbar.co
This is the version I have been using on my pool without any problems. you will have to compile.

There is also a zipped file of all my wallet files (except the wallet.dat) from my windows PC. I'm not sure if you can simply move them into your .bitbar directory or not -  I haven't tried that yet.  Smiley

edit:
I believe the above bitbar-master.zip is from https://github.com/aLQ/bitbar version 4.2.0

The .zip with the wallet files is what got me past my stuck point. I can now send and receive coins and they show up ha! So for whoever wants to know, it definitely helped with that and sped up the sync process significantly.

 I still haven't figured out the solomining with asics thing with my Zuesminer/Gawminers asics though. I found some threads on the net but nothing with a positive conclusion.
234  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.3.0: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, GekkoScience Compac on: September 20, 2015, 06:20:35 AM
anyone have any idea why my miners are declared sick and then dead? I'm trying to solomine with a blackwidow and 4 furys. Sometime on other pools the Furys will get sick but not for long and the Black Widow never does unless i solomine with i just recently discovered.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: September 20, 2015, 04:55:35 AM
I'm going on vacation now.
I'll work more on BitBar.co when I get back in around  8 - 9 days (I think the forum is working now)
Maybe have news from/about the new dev ??  Cheesy

Vacation? What the crap is that? hehe  Have a good one!

I'm getting this error message when i click the forum button @ Bitbar.co: "CGI Error

The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers."

I also tried solomining with the bitbar-qt wallet...my miners get "SICK" and then after 10 minutes they are "DEAD" in BFGMiner 5.2. I've never solomined usng my asic miners before so I don't know what to expect. Certainly I expect some blocks though! lol

I did however get the ras pi which is how I control my asics(from outside in the shed) and the Bitbar-QT wallet on my windows machine(inside the house) to connect through my home network so I thought that was an achievement. I'm going to search more about the getting "sick" thing.

236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ▄▀ [PSA]: Guide to (solo) mining bitbar ▀▄ on: September 19, 2015, 12:36:17 AM
So what if my miners are controlled with a ras pi via bfgminer or cgminer or whichever... and the wallet is on a different computer.  Please someone correct me but isn't the 127.0....address put in because the wallet is on the same computer as the mining software? So i could essentially mine and keep the wallet in 2 different spots in the world as long as the full IP is put in instead of the 127.0....address?
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: September 17, 2015, 02:36:43 PM
I've never left coins in my wallet long enough to see if they stake  Grin

 I have a computer dedicated to staking wallets. Tongue

The fact that BTB stakes is really why I wanted to mess with the coin, so thanks for getting me squared away.

 Now, if my buy order on Crypsy goes through soon I'll be a happy camper.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: September 17, 2015, 02:23:28 PM
Thanks for the good info Luke! I have to say that literally seconds ago my wallet staked for 0.0BTB! lol

 "Status: 1/unconfirmed, broadcast through 7 nodes
Date: 9/17/2015 10:17
Debit: 0.00 BTB
Net amount: -0.028159 BTB
Transaction ID: 6349fc570449e3f724de67601c65f15a1ab06c5848bd64daa1002f8e4232be1f

Staked coins must wait 520 blocks before they can return to balance and be spent. When you generated this proof-of-stake block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, it will change to "not accepted" and not be a valid stake. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a proof-of-stake block within a few seconds of yours."

is what it says for transaction details.

Thanks for the links. If you go into the console and type "setgenerate true" it will default to using all possible cpu power towards mining. You can set the number of cores being used by typing that number after "setgenerate true".  After that I don't know how to solo-mine with the wallet. I know there is a way to add gpus and asics even and not use the cpu but it's on the internet somewhere.. lol I remember seeing it in the past.

Do you know how to get the wallet to stake? I haven't found much info on that, really just that its supposed to stake.. I hope its not all crazy like Peercoin. When I type "getinfo" in the console I get this:

"version" : "v0.4.2.0-g32a928e-beta",
"protocolversion" : 60005,
"walletversion" : 60000,
"balance" : 0.02815900,
"newmint" : 0.00000000,
"stake" : 0.00000000,
"blocks" : 132136,
"moneysupply" : 20235.13354100,
"connections" : 8,
"proxy" : "",
"ip" : "173.65.129.85",
"difficulty" : 35.54357843,
"testnet" : false,
"keypoololdest" : 1407182337,
"keypoolsize" : 205,
"paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
"errors" : "WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download, or notify developers."
}
I'm not expecting much with that balance but I want to be sure it is staking or minting or whatever..

Success! Thank you Spidersbox! OK, now I will consider mining this coin. How much hashpower do you have on the network? I have never solomined before. How did you figure it out for Bitbar? Can this coin be mined with asics?
