zk-snarks per se aren´t only used in Zerocash, i am keen with Zerocash, a system like zerocash doesnt need something like "shadowsend" to be anonymous. I'm not related to Bittrex at all, just giving my personal opinion here.
First of all the dev seems very competent, I can't find any issues or missed edits that he hasn't already fixed.
The code itself looks good, there are no hidden blocks or other tricks, it's clean and straightforward.
The biggest problem I've seen in POW --> POS coins is not having a POS checkpointing server set up properly (I've fixed 5 or 6 other coins with this issue.) Shadowcoin has a proper functioning POS checkpointing server and the POW end code is correct also.
Everything looks good to me.
