What is the situation with being unable to change the profile avatar at this time?

Not only at this time, but for over a year - there was an exploit associated with it, so that feature was disabled. As soon as the new forum software is up and running, perhaps later this month, we should have that option back again.

Can't a modification be made to the code to avoid that exploit ?

Some people are really good with parlay. They make huge profits with their BTC. You should see the Nitrogen winners each month.

225  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin WesternUnion like service on: February 07, 2015, 09:26:29 AM
I think in countries like Philipines and Thailand, coins.ph allows them to use a WU like service with their ATM's and other options, which is really good , specially when they have no fees.
226  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are college textbooks in the US a total ripoff? on: February 07, 2015, 09:23:25 AM
I think people living in those countries can actually afford those books because of also the higher earning wage. However people from Asia find these resources much more expensive.

230  Other / Off-topic / Re: The craziest shit you can buy with bitcoins right now? on: February 07, 2015, 09:18:16 AM
Are there any pet sites that sell dogs for bitcoins?
Shipping should be like worldwide.

You could just make a deal with someone to buy dogs with them.
231  Local / India / Re: Gambling and Bitcoin on: February 07, 2015, 09:17:20 AM
Well there are already sites which do not require them to convert their FIAT to Bitcoins, and they can use CC's directly. So i don't think they would prefer doing it with bitcoin.

233  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LocalBitcoins.com - a location-based bitcoin to cash marketplace on: February 07, 2015, 09:15:05 AM
I remember withdrawals from LocalBitcoins being pretty instantaneous.  If they were batching them (combining multiple withdrawals together) then it would not be instantaneous (e.g., maybe one trx every 5 minutes).

Why 5 minutes. If they throttle the payout to every 10s, they could still get some transactions at times while no or just one transaction at other times. For a business of that scale it would just make sense.

I just did a transaction minutes ago and do not recall a huge delay. The transaction was exclusively made for me though.

Not sure about the exclusivity . I do have bitcoins transferred to other addresses in the same trnasaction.
Maybe they do it in batches after every 5-10 seconds
234  Economy / Economics / Re: lets make bitcoin price high on: February 07, 2015, 09:11:59 AM
So have you began to pump the price yet because i am not seeing it  Sad

Need a good price to rid these coins please hurry
Why dont you just hold for 5 years then come back? or actually dump them for the people that want to buy cheap.

ACtually 2 years would be enough for that after the halving happens.
235  Local / India / Re: Anyone from India going to Satoshi RoundTable ? on: February 06, 2015, 04:39:03 PM
Don't know if anyone from India is going, but an Indian Origin based man Raj Mehta(CEO of Kilowatt Capital , A VC) is on the list of attendees.

Interesting... Is Kilowatt Capital investing in bitcoin ?

I don't think so.  It seems the company has nothin to do with bitcoin, but its the CEO Raj Mehta, who was also an early adopter.
So the company name is there just as a designation.

238  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Online Casino and Sportsbook for sale. Over 400 games inc Live Dealer and Mobile on: February 04, 2015, 02:38:37 PM
65 BTC is a pretty high cost for just a site that has these games.
Is the site a famous one ? Link to the website ?
If the games were bought from a gaming company, then it usually takes less than 5 BTC to get a gaming platform with 400+ games.
What is the advantage of purchasing from you ? (Don't take my questions in an offensive way, but it isn't hard to set up a casino website, for 1/10th of the cost).
Unless your website is famous one, and has a good revenue generated, the price is simply too high.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is amomg us on: February 04, 2015, 12:35:36 PM
My theory: Satoshi is among us. He's running some kind of bitcoin business e.g. exchange.
I often see questions asking why Satoshi didn't spend his bitcoins.
This is perfect explanation: he didn't, because he's profiting from the fact these bitcoins remain unspend.
What do you think?

Sure could be anything. I think we don't know all his addresses, so he actually might have much more coins on addresses people don't know about.
240  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cryptsy lock my account for no reason (180 BTC lost) on: February 03, 2015, 02:23:47 PM
Just read part 3 on reddit. Seems really fishy .
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2ummr4/part_3_cryptsy_stole_me_180_btc_withdraw_locked/

It is totally wrong on their end to freeze funds like this.
