Insanely strong rebound, just a hair under 90$ at the moment

New client version is insanely smooth.

Excellent. If it falters after a few hours just close and restart it when you can and it should be fresh again. Soon even that won't be necessary.

Is there an ETA on when the client will support Windows 8?

What can of instabilities can I experience with the SWC beta-client on Windows 8?

It seems to crash for everyone after 10-15 minutes. If it is working for you please let us know.

Can I quickly take over my session in the web client if the beta client crashes? Otherwise, testing might be expensive

The only thing stopping you would be slowness of logging in. If you make sure to keep your web session active it would just be one click and a quick flash load up. No guarantee but you could probably make it.

I would NOT play for money that matters to you on the beta with windows 8. We expect it to fail in its current state.

Yes, you were right, the client crashed after a while Sad I played for ~1:30 hour with the web client just fine, but then all of a sudden I got the bug again where the text was missing on all the buttons, stacks, betsizes, etc.
I sent you a screenshot showing the bug earlier. This time I didn't switch any tabs at all, because I thought that might have been causing it, yet I just experienced the bug again. Is there anything I can do to help debugging the issue? I'm running:

-Chrome
-Windows 8 - 64 bit

Thanks for all the help Smiley

That data disappearing means that flash crashed. Reloading should work. Switching tabs isn't so much the problem as having other flash applications open in the same browser, youtube, etc.

It was the only tab open this time. I'll try a different browser for my next session, see if that's more stable Smiley

Cyprus banks open in 1 hour

Getting money to the exchanges will take a while
229  Economy / Speculation / Re: The last leg to $100 on: March 28, 2013, 08:59:27 AM
My bet is we'll reach $100 (@mtgox) today or next tue/wed. The run has been exciting. After $100 is reached I'd give odds: 20% for crash @$30, 40% for crash @$50, 40% for continuous rising.

You want to insure against the crash? I am willing to bet you A LOT that it will never go to $20 or $50 anymore. See, if it rises, you lose a little. If it crashes, you win a lot. Interested?

Please make this deal with Proudhon. Would love to see him put money where his mouth is Smiley

I have already mailed Taslim.  I would hope that others are doing the same.

Mailed him as well, I urge everyone to do the same.

Arvicco must have at least 1,000,000 XRP by now.

More than 5,000,000 as of now. Will probably stop my buy-in program soon...

Why do you want that many? Do you believe ripple to be the future?

233  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: VGA cards in mineral oil, remove heatsink and fans or leave them on? on: March 26, 2013, 11:57:04 AM
Keep those heatsinks on! You need the surface area to dissipate to heat to the oil. The chip itself doesn't have nearly enough surface area to do this effectively. I'm not sure about the fans. They will probably help, but fail a lot faster due to the condition they are in. So it might be best to be prepared to run fanless, so see if you can keep those temperatures in check without any fans.

Good luck! Keep us updated on this project, it looks interesting Smiley

Has anyone contacted Mark Karpeles AKA "MagicalTux" directly and asked for a statement?

Is it dangerous for our computers to go into the site since the security certificate has expired?

Yes and no.

It doesn't matter you connect to the site with an outdated certificate, the traffic is still encrypted and FreeMoney just said he's aware of the problem, so the error isn't on your end.

However: Since the certificate isn't valid, an attacker could launch a MITM-attack and you would get a similar error, so there's currently no way of knowing whether you're getting that error because of the current problem or because of an attack.

So I would recommend _not_ logging in as long as the error's not fixed. If you have Bitcoins on that site, and if you fall victim to a MITM-attack now, your Bitcoins will most likely be gone. Just sit tight and wait till it's fixed.
thanks

I logged on, pulled some btc back to my wallet, and played a little PLO just fine, despite the certificate. Just so you know. There's like 200 people currently logged on playing fine, though admin said in Seals chat that there is still an attack ongoing.

As I said, logging in will work just fine. And playing will work just fine as well. But there's no way to know if you're being attacked by a MITM-attack. The chances of an attack are extremely low, but why risk it? Just sit tight Smiley

I was wondering why nobody had posted this yet.

Seems like a kind of "wall pic" to me  Cheesy

Agree.

I cannot give graphs for AML requests right now, but I can tell you that the rate of new requests increased in the same way, with around 1000 new requests on Friday. Three new staff will be starting Monday on the AML.
Just checked the queue, there are 5500 accounts pending verification at this very moment.

If it's not bullish, I don't know what is...

Do you need a verified account to deposit fiat?

Yes, you do Smiley

239  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we compute the loss of the banks? on: March 22, 2013, 10:54:25 AM
Zero loss. If I buy hardware with my $$, that money will go to the bank accounts of people selling that hardware. If I buy BTC with my $$ that money will go to the bank account of the person selling me his BTC, unless he keeps it at an exchange...

...in which case the $$ is stored in the bank account of said exchange.
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: YEEEHA! Here we go, UP UP UP! on: March 21, 2013, 04:10:41 PM
I'm jealous of what? I'm long BTC myself. It's just that posts like these make me wonder when we are going to top. Euphoric sentiment usually signals a top, and posts like these are pretty darn euphoric.
