One of these days I want to find just one block.. just one for the pool. Been mining here almost two years and never found one granted I am only been running a low 2.4 ths and now 5ths, which is still a drop in the bucket.  but just one would be nice to see. Maybe one day lol.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Will this confirm on: August 31, 2017, 09:24:58 AM
If I were you, I would consolidate them in batches, since time is not an issue here
I would make each tx around 3,000 Bytes, that is around 16 inputs with a fee of 5,000 satoshis (or 10k)
and using compressed address could save you a few bytes shorter in tx size
doing it now probably wouldn't as easy (confirmed) as I did in 2015
look at my address here, you can see lots of my dust inputs (<10k sats) way below yours (<50k sats)
https://blockchain.info/address/1FJgPzeXzJERmCFpZva6MKAX8cELATz6dc?show_adv=true

or you could use web wallet address or any site deposit address as intermediary address (with risk)
but you need to find one that don't mind receiving multiple small amount btc deposits,
in your case below 50k sats, and also only charge you considerably low withdrawal fee Grin

Oh I see, I think I get your point so in the future I should do this weekly or every couple of days, so I dont have to do so many at once, which costs more. so is it the number of transactions that determines the size of the transaction? On the other side does it take the miner longer to mine something like this versus one that only has say 10 inputs?

It is amazing your transaction are still unspent or balance since 2015. Saving it for a rainy day or just have so much that amount is way on the bottom lol.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Will this confirm on: August 31, 2017, 02:08:36 AM
Thanks for the help. I think and hope I did it correctly and hopefully did get raped on fees again. First time signing and broadcasting my own transaction. Here is the tx https://blockexplorer.com/tx/27cdeffc6bf7a8ca49d16dd6070e37876d07e128c2ac8350c3a5813746454492
But based off that transaction I am still unsure about the satoshi per byte I thought the one I just sent was more than 10 satoshi per byte could you explain how many  satoshi per byte was in that transaction? I do see now on blockchain the transaction was 1.66 per byte. but still lost

You've created a transaction that has only ~1 sat/byte fee... it could take a while for that to be picked up. However, the mempool is relatively empty at the moment (less than 10K transactions) so you might get lucky Wink

The transaction has been marked as RBF... so if it gets stuck for a lengthy period, you might want to consider bumping the fee up to 10 sats/byte (0.0001 BTC/kB in Electrum)... then you can try and use the ViaBTC TX Accelerator

Electrum uses BTC/kB as opposed to sats/byte... in Bitcoin world a kB = 1000 bytes... so: 10 sats/byte = 0.00010000 BTC/kB

If you REALLY want to avoid such issues in the future... you're better off trying to consolidate the payments BEFORE you receive them... ie. use a service that lets you specify a minimum payment threshold and set that to like 0.001 or higher... 0.005 would be OK, 0.01 would be better Wink

Thanks for the explanation! I would love to be able to set a payment threshold but currently it is not a option on the pool,  So until it changes I will have to just keep learning and doing this to avoid huge fees.  Or bring on some more mining power. Which hopefully I can do with my payouts from the pool like I did this time.

If it doesn't clear in a couple of days I will up it, not really worried about time just if I did it correctly. Which apparently I didn't since the fees was 1.66 when I thought it was 10.66. Learning always comes from mistake.

Thanks again for every one that helped me with this. It was a great learning experience and much appreciated.

Should I increase the fee a little more
Only if you want to have it confirm faster.

and do you know why it say amount sent 0.
If you are sending the Bitcoin to yourself to an address in the same wallet, some wallets will say that because the Bitcoin is leaving your wallet (besides the transaction fee).

Can you post the transaction ID or an address you sent to so we can check how long the transaction should take to confirm?

If you sent it to a company, then it'll say 0 until it gets between about 3 and 10 confirmations.

If your fee is more than 10 satoshi per byte, use this accelerator: https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
If it isn't then it may be useful to boost it to that amount or ask a miner to do it for you.
Please actually read the OP before responding and look at the picture that he linked to. That picture contains enough details.

If you can afford to, try to boos the fee by about 7 times - if you want to use a TX accelerator service. However, there are miners here who offer acceleration services who will do it for 0.001btc as far as I can recall (maybe try to find one of those users, you could also get a quote from the user quickseller for getting a fast acceleration - though I suspect that will be greatly expensive for a transaction that size).

Time really isn't an issue for me. As long as it confirms, i don't know within a week. But being able to afford is LOL, but really It was more about learning how to consolidate micro transactions so I don't get hit with massive fees next time I go to buy something like last time 200 bucks for a 550 dollar transaction. I get why it was so much just trying to insure it doesnt happen again.

But based off that transaction I am still unsure about the satoshi per byte I thought the one I just sent was more than 10 satoshi per byte could you explain how many  satoshi per byte was in that transaction? I do see now on blockchain the transaction was 1.66 per byte. but still lost

Your transaction should confirm eventually, but it may take several days. You will probably need to rebroadcast the transaction every day or so to keep the network reminded that the transaction exists.

Should I increase the fee a little more and do you know why it say amount sent 0. in the output is say the amount I am sending just wanna make sure I am doing it right.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Will this confirm on: August 31, 2017, 12:37:50 AM
So I have alot of mining dust in my wallet and I am trying to learn how to clean it up so I dont get raped form huge fees. I mean I just sent 550 worth of bitcoin to buy some newer gear and it costed me 200 bucks in fees. So every one keeps telling me to consolidate the micro payments in the address to a new address using the lowest fees. So since I have truly never ran my own wallet and just used a app. I am now trying to learn how to do this my self.  So I have set up this transaction in my wallet spending the max amount from the address that has all the micro payments from my mining to another address in my wallet, using the lowest fee the wallet would let me. I would like to know if it will ever confirm or not. I also don't understand why the amount says 0. I am a hobby poor miner LOL so the total amount I am sending is only .0398 Could some one answer if it would confirm and why it says 0.?

I got a couple of miners and extras that are collecting dust and figured I would post to see if any one wants to buy them.

1 KNC Miner controller board 4 port working
2 beagle boards (1 works 1 I dont know never really messed it with. I used one for the bitcrane miner)
3 KNC boards I think two are neptune one neptune has the orange cooling fins on the chips other doesnt and 1 is jupiter october all still work (none have cooling)
1 Bitcrane 600 ghs miner with water cooler working http://prntscr.com/gs3n5o
2 Bitcrane  600 ghs boards one is a parts board and needs usb connector but works
3 Antminer s3's all work little to no issues just took them out running to replace them with a s5 bought by ezminer121
1 Antminer C1 fulling working just clean and is ready to go http://prntscr.com/gujrjh Sold to elokk
1 brand new still in the sealed package antminer s3 controller (purchased two from bitmain only ever used one)

I can post pictures with my user name and date next to what ever you want if requested, just didn't want to take the time if no one wanted anything. Shipping only to lower 48, If you want more than one item I am sure we can work out something like a package deal or something. Payment in BTC of course and if you want escrow fine as well as long as you pay the fees. Escrow must be from a well trusted member on here. UMMM I don't think I left any thing out.
231  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Power Supply Question on: August 28, 2017, 06:14:25 PM
Well either way I think you're probably going to buy a PSU for this now, eh?  7A at 1400W implies 220+/- AC input...
You need 12VDC at 120A or so to run an S7 at 1400W.

You are right I will just have to buy the right power supply. Now just gotta figure out what to do with these. LOL Thanks for the help!

There is one piece you are missing. The PSUs draw say 6.5 amps at 208 volts on the AC side. A miner is drawing much more from the DC side.

If a miner is drawing 1500 watts from 12v thats actually 125 amps of DC current.

15 amps at 12 volts is only 180 watts.

Thanks So I would need a converter that would be rated for 125 amps but would need to be over rated for safety reason of course. Bringing it back around to cost. Would be cheaper to buy a power supply that works rather than trying to make a 24VDC/ 2000W PSU convert down to 12vdc.

Thanks for the information all.
232  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Power Supply Question on: August 28, 2017, 05:09:39 PM
Why would you buy a $55 converter when you can buy a proper server power supply for the same price that will put out 3000 watts?

I wouldn't I was only showing suggestion. I was trying to better understand the information users are giving to better understand my question. I really just don't know why it wouldn't work thus why I asked the question.

Recheck your math.  12V at 15A is only 180W, and at 24V is 360W...  Roll Eyes

Oh I am sure my math was wrong I was only basing the amps off a couple of S7 reviews on here. It was a example really I was just trying to get a better understanding on how it works. I was thinking if the S7 total draw was 7 amp at say 1400 watts, I didn't know if just buying a dc converter that was rated for more would work or not say 24vdc to 12Vdc rated 15 amps.

The logic I was thinking (which I know is wrong) is why I asked was if the total amp draw was 7 amps even though the power supply is rated for 84 amps since I am only drawing 7 max I could get a converter rated at 15 and still be safe. (which I know is wrong) was just trying to better understand the why it wouldn't.

And maybe my question is completely retarded.

233  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Power Supply Question on: August 28, 2017, 04:23:10 PM
There really is no "cheap DC transformer". Most of the parts inside that PSU are the things required to make a DC transformer possible, as the bulk of its circuitry are probably transforming 400VDC down to your 24VDC at high current. Transformers work by coupling fluctuating magnetic fields, like AC has naturally as a result of its changing voltage, but DC with its constant voltage has to be turned into AC, run through a transformer and then turned back into DC. This requires a lot of high power switching circuits and filters and an active controller to keep everything in line.

I updated my question a little bit to VRobbs comment, The power supply and trying to use is one of these http://www.socintech.com/userfile/flatpack_komp_tech_1.pdf

But I couldn't get something like this? Since I know my draw is less than 15 amps?

234  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Power Supply Question on: August 28, 2017, 04:03:30 PM
An easy way?  Not really, at the least you'd need a high power DC/DC converter, perhaps multiple ones, and the plugs and such.  Tongue
I'd not want to go that route.  And I just hand wired an Objective Lens focus motor coil for one of the Laser Beam Recorders here at work so I could goof around with stuff like that...  Cheesy

Thanks for the information, I figured with my luck it wouldn't be that easy. I was hoping I could just buy a cheap 24 to 12 dc transformer or something like that. But knew in the back of my head the wattage and amps would play a huge part.

What if I know the draw or amps from the miners. Say I wanted to power a S7 which is what 7 amp. I know the power rating of the 24 Power supply is 84 max amps at nominal power but I am not going to draw any were near 84 amps couldn't I get lets say a 24 to 12 v DC converter rated at 10 amps or 15 amps? As long as I don't draw more than amp rating of the converter it shouldn't it be fine?

I am sure I am forgetting something in there, just trying to understand better I guess.
235  Bitcoin / Hardware / Power Supply Question on: August 28, 2017, 03:10:54 PM
So I two 24V/2000 w power supplies, I would like to try use for my miners,(just makes it so I don't have to purchase more PSU's.) Is there a easy way to convert it from 24V's to 12 volts. I would think the amps the miners are drawing or the wattage the power supply is putting out would play into to it but I just don't know so figured I would ask before pursuing it any further.

Thanks
