CarlOrff answered other members clearly like he was Coin++.

Maybe you can just confirm that here

Quote
J'ai pris un fait divers d'actualité pour illustrer une réalité.

He clearly states "I said this to make a point" referring to Coin++'s post.

Also he immediately (within 5min) deleted his post.
Not only this. As I said before, the whole post is an answer from Coin++ to the other members but posted by CarlOrff, which rises many questions. I am pretty sure that after the deletion he may post it again by Coin++ account.

Now look at this :
18 August 2018, 09:28:58: 5 to CarlOrff for Re: Question sur l'un des enjeux du Bitcoin
18 August 2018, 09:28:03: 5 to CarlOrff for Re: Impots et minage
18 August 2018, 09:27:11: 5 to CarlOrff for Re: Impots et minage
18 August 2018, 09:26:57: 5 to CarlOrff for Re: Question sur l'un des enjeux du Bitcoin

Wonder know how fast is he in reading long texts and understanding it... I am pretty sure they are the same dude and sending 5 merits then adding after few minutes another 5 for the same post rises more suspicions...
222  Economy / Reputation / Re: Multiple Account + trust exchanging on: November 14, 2018, 12:50:33 PM
For those who don't understand French :
CarlOrff started his topic talking about expatriation and cryptocurrency taxes in France.
Then Coin++ gave the example of adolescents (minor) threatening their teachers and hospital refusing to take care of patients not already examined by their general practitioner.
Well, Coin++'s post/examples doesn't seem to be accepted by other members so CarlOrff made a reply saying that some people found his words disturbing and started explaining why schools are insecure, medical system, taxes, politics.

Well, i find that those "two" members have the same writing style based on this topic alone (won't bother checking all their previous posts nor merit history). Besides, CarlOrff answered other members clearly like he was Coin++.
This case should be checked deeply.
223  Other / Meta / Re: [Guide] Reporting effectively on: November 14, 2018, 09:34:21 AM
why is the "your report history" link only available over 300 good reports? Undecided
Only theymos can answer you. Imo this will incite people to report to see their report history and will limit whiners whining about why each report wasn't handled.

currently i have a very high number of "unhandled" messages although our responsible moderator doesn't see any outstanding reports from me. i'm looking forward to the overview because there should be visible what is still "unhandled".
Moderators are responsible enough but the way you describe the problem in your report has a huge impact in addition to the user you are reporting.
For example : if you write in your report : "This user is doing copy paste from an old post, proof bitcointalk.org/xxxxxx" then it will likely be handled in few hours.
Now if you write the same thing without the link then it will be unhandled for a long period until your accusation is proved.
Now from my experience, if you report correctly a newbie then it will be handled faster than a report against an older member since the consequences aren't the same for both.
224  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-09]SEC fines the owner of decentralized cryptocurrency exchange EtherDe on: November 10, 2018, 06:36:20 AM
It is hard to control altcoin exchange markets comparing to bitcoin...
EtherDelta is one of the most important place to deal with cryptocurrencies although it has some security issues, that's why the SEC started with it tho. We will see what will happen next.
225  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-09]Bitcoin Trailblazer Jeff Garzik Says Bitcoin ‘Unquestionably. . . on: November 10, 2018, 06:26:16 AM
The bitcoin/blockchain technology success doesn't need anyone approval, it is obvious.
I wish one day, we could have a better view about the beginning of the bitcoin idea and its creator/early adopters. Many questions remain not fully answered but maybe one day it will be clearer.
226  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: November 08, 2018, 01:46:17 PM
May I ask if it's possible to have the last edited option added?
So users would be able to check when last a post was edited.

It's actually possible to do, just put your mouse in the thread's creation date and It will show you when it was last updated:

I think he is using a phone to connect with it in the forums.
I don't know how to check it also with the phone.

-snip-
This Macron guy thinks he is napoleon bonaparte  I told france not to vote him in power and now look they wish they never voted for this stupid person..
He may be as short as Bonaparte but the testosterone level is different  Wink

I told you all many years ago that the EU was building an EU army and then would threaten many nations with war and one nation would be the USA and then that would put is in a mega war..
Oh boy don't worry, Germany needs a new army, Italian and Spanish are sleeping, French will surrender on the first minute as always...

Now to the USA you must wipe out the EU space agency..DANGER   Macron made threats to the USA after the USA dying for france in 2 WW ..
AND THAT'S THE THANKS YOU GET..
Well USA dying for France, lol. USA wouldn't ever be evolved in the war even if the whole European town would be erased. Thanks to the tora boys attacking Pearl harbor for waking up the beast.

To the USA  get ready for WAR with the EU..  I am with the USA    my families live there and i like the YANKS better more the same people than the EU ..
Get ready for a training match before the real battle vs the east

The EU like getting run by DICTATORS we in the UK and USA don't.. so get ready for WAR  why because you threatened the USA..
Oh please, UK and USA are governed by the same bunch of people coming from the same parties with the same ideas and agendas. The exception was made only by Trump, where Americans got pissed off and voted for a clown to entertain the masses...
228  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Decline of the West on: November 08, 2018, 06:45:30 AM
-snip-
What do you think? Is the end of European civilization near?

Without a world war it will be unlikely.
Most of European countries especially in the east could be absorbed by Russia in case of war without major resistance in Just few days if the USA stays neutral.
Otherwise, Europeans are well organised however the main threat is the rise of alt right wings...
229  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Jeff Sessions Resigns at Trump Request on: November 08, 2018, 06:37:23 AM
Am I the only one asking about the timing? Is there a relation between the recent election and the time of resignation?
Sessions relation with Trump wasn't good from the ~beginning...
The greatest POTUS has to pick a good loyal guy who should criticise Mueller everyday tho.

231  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ Bitvest.io - Plinko Sig. Campaign ★☆★ (Member-Hero Accepted) on: November 05, 2018, 03:01:04 PM
Rounds are running bi-weekly from Tuesday-Monday (14 days), payments are going to be made in the next 48 hours after a round has ended.
New enrollments are only going to be made into the next upcoming round, and are announced right with the payments.

what happened to this rules? Is this will apply again soon? Thanks.

This rule was not applied from months. In my opinion, there is a sufficient fund for 1 or maybe 2 rounds, i don't know what is the opinion of Lutpin but I think updating this rules is required to clarify things for participants. I am not on hurry nor that too much active to complain but the campaign image isn't as excellent as before.

Why you boys calling Trump a racist?...because he is a racist!
Poor Trump, the greatest POTUS ever! (inv) Roll Eyes

233  Other / Meta / Re: Dashboard upgrade on: November 03, 2018, 02:33:31 PM
Looks good to me, what do you think?

Didn't notice it after 5 minutes of visiting the forums until i read this post.
It isn't a major update, just a rearrangement of unused feature called "donate"... I prefer putting copper membership and donation in the same link unless theymos has new plans.
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stability the shortest way to public adoptions. on: November 02, 2018, 09:30:10 PM
For bitcoin to be used as a store of value and a medium of exchanging for goods and services, It must be stable like others currencies.
Some stability would probably help serious companies to accept cryptocurrencies, but it doesn't mean that the stability should be on the current prices. The market needs to recover for people to trust in it. It lost billions of dollars very fast and that's not very encouraging. IMO if the market gradually returned to previous ath and then stabilized around it with +-10% fluctuations, it would be perfect. People would either profit or at least return their investments; traders will be able to profit from regular cycles; users will probably tolerate such small fluctuations.

I agree. People will join Bitcoin revolution in advance if the price keeps climbing gradually with a break of few weeks each time. Stability is important but moving forward is essential.
235  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-24]Police Arrest Indian Crypto Exchange Co-Founder for Unregistered. . on: November 01, 2018, 08:37:46 PM
Yes, the illegal establishment of their equipment in any part of the city has always been prohibited and subject to heavy fines...
And the money could be used to finance the construction of the costly tallest sculpture in a poor place in India...
Ok i am abusing a little bit but politicians are experts in wasting money, making the poor family poorer and banning any possible/legit way to make money!
236  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-29] Bitcoin trading uses so much power that it could push global temper on: November 01, 2018, 08:29:07 PM
A new study from the University of Hawaii finds that if bitcoin becomes more widely adopted, the huge amounts of electricity used to trade the cryptocurrency could push global temperatures above 2 degrees Celsius by 2033.
The greatest scientist in the whole world, Professor Trump, said there is no climate change. Case closed   Lips sealed

I believe i answered this question last year. It is very hard for journalists to find new topics to talk about these days  Undecided
237  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Religious fundamentalists are more likely to believe fake news. on: October 29, 2018, 09:34:17 PM
Surfing a little bit in different political forums and social media in general is more than enough to find out that people who believe fake news and lies are most likely extremists in politics, religion, science...
I almost critics everybody and don't believe any political party cares about citizens (except its subscribers who will suck the country's economy till the last drop)...and i find it crazy to see nowadays people voting for radicalism: Trump, Brazilian new president, some European parties... Those people would never been elected without the support of fundamentalists!
238  Other / Meta / Re: Alternative clients section on: October 29, 2018, 09:15:23 PM
Although it is a good suggestion, the lack of posts in that section will make it pointless and unlikely to happens.
If something could be done is adding : [Hw] for hard wallet or [Mw] for mobile wallet...(preferable with a unique color code for each) for example to the topic title although it will not add big things at this point.
239  Other / Meta / Re: Another deleted post on: October 28, 2018, 02:08:08 PM
Though I would like to say that I always see comments from the high-ranked members criticizing the newbies that their topic of concern is already been discussed on the old posts and they are just seeking for merit.  I do not know, I really think that this is a critical issue or am I just overthinking it?

If the user (newbie or another rank member) find the response to his question in an old topic then his issue is solved and no need to bump the topic by thanking the OP imo.
If he didn't find the correct answer then better to simply start a new topic and mentioning that he followed the old topic steps and failed.
I don't see the point of bumping 95% of old topics in btctalk unless it contains valuable contents and i won't hesitate to bump it.
240  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-21] Ephrata, Washington Imposes Year-Long Ban on New Cryptocurrency Min on: October 27, 2018, 05:41:38 PM
You can't magic up that extra generating capacity out of nowhere. It takes years to approve, design and build more by which point the miners will be long gone and they're left with a load of capacity doing nothing.

It's better to price the shit out of the miners or simply tell them to go away and not come back than have daily life fall apart. I can see a time when miners finance their own power generation facilities. I don't think mining and regular generation will coexist for long.

I would call this an opportunity for the local authority there to start their thinking engine inside their minds and find out a solution rather than increasing the electricity price.
Impose clean energy for new miners?
3 years to switch to clean energy for the already installed ones?...
This will benefit everyone. But no, authorities around the world act the same way indeed : turn off your mind when you get elected then if you have a problem = increase the price! =  problem solved (shortly of course, since once the population rise or new industries open up then they will have the same problem)...
