221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy is a failure if you are consistent with it on: May 18, 2024, 01:20:24 PM
I love roulettes because it is very easy to play and I see it relaxing. I bet with $3.5 yesterday using martingale strategy as I want to see what the outcome would be, I was able to win $6. $6 to $9 but it will go down to $3 until I won $10.  From $10 back to $6 until I won $13. Later I won $18. I played 5 consecutive times without winning at all and I lost the whole money. If won any among the 5 times selection, I would have increased it to back $18 or to $25. It was a boring day for me, I enjoyed the game, I wish to play more but I do not want to lose more money.

I've also experienced that martingale method, where you are happy at first when you win, but when you lose one after another, it's the kind of thing where you can throw stones at things you suddenly grab.
it's mostly the emotion that we failed to carry. losing streak is bad, more so that you are using a martingale strategy, it doesn't make sense at all because you'll feel the high pressure in betting the higher your losing streak are. That's why I recomment flat betting, just choose the right pick and win most of them, at least that way you can enjoy a profit and you'll not build an attitude of beting greedy.

Then the worst thing I experienced was 15x, and every time I lost, I did it if the amount was x3. Of course, when it's x15, that's a big amount, but your starting size is not like that; of course mine is only a small amount.

15? That's too unlucky of you. I'm wondering what was your starting bet?

just imagine this 10 losing streak with $10 starting bet.

222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 18, 2024, 12:00:40 PM
I had also place my bet already, I booked the under 177.5.
This looked good in the 1st to 3rd quarter but the 4th quarter was about scoring, the game ended at a total of 180 points. So you loss your bet. I remember the point spread was -4.5 for Meralco, that could have easily win as the Gin Kings already wasted time but with 5 seconds left I guess, I don't understand why Meralco still choose to score despite the fact that they are already down 6 points, as a sign of respect, they should have already wasted the time since there's no point quotient already. I smell fishy on that last play.. hmmmm.. Turned out, Meralco covered the +4.5 because Ginebra won only by 4 points because of that no necessary shot.

Do we expect to hear another fans that threatened players because of that last shot? I used to remember Mambatac when he took that last shot even there's no way that they can win or tie the game, he was threatened in his social media accounts and really put some noise about that, as the gambler who loses their bets thinks that Mambatac messed it up, is this another some sort of same situation where someone takes it even there's no chance of winning the game but the sole purpose is to messed  with the handicap. Hahaha just saying.. but for those who pick the handicap for the Gin kings just need to move forward and try to analyze the next game then place a bet..
Possible but I think this was a different scenario because Nambatac shot it from the outside and they have the last position although they already loss, that kind of scenario can also be seen in the NBA. But this one, Ginebra already wasted time as they want their opponent to not shoot the ball also, and they are shaking hands already, but still they decided to pass the ball near the rim for an easy lay up before the game was over.  That really looks fishy at all IMO.
I think about that Nambatac's threat issue before it can be justified because there was a point quotient, but this in the best of 7 series, they still make that shot when it doesn't matter anymore. That only showed how disrespectful that team (meralco) is, so I think Ginebra aren't gonna give them a chance to come back in the series. No game today due to rest but tomorrow the game 2 of 2 match ups will continue.

I'm still rooting for the SMB and Ginebra, IMO, it's worth doing a parlay for the moneyline.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 18, 2024, 07:56:12 AM
Who is betting live? It's a close game at Indianapolis so far. I don't usually do well on handicap betting but I'm still taking Pacers (-4.5) @1.8. Brunson shooting poorly in the first quarter which could be good for the Pacers and my bet but Siakam's two early fouls could pose trouble late in the game.

Aaron Nesmith have done an impressive job on keeping Brunson at bay for most of the entire first half in which Brunson scored only just 5 points, but it has been different story in 3rd quarter as Brunson put up 14 points. Heading into 4th quarter now with 13 points advantage to the Pacers. I think it's safe to already say the series is going all the way and we'll have a game 7! Of course except the Knicks are able to pull off something magical in 4th quarter.

Brunson shoots bad on the last 2 games on the road, but the Knicks have to play more defense on him as he is unstoppable at home. As predicted, the series reach a game 7 which is going to be fun and I don't see another blowout win from the home here. The spread itself would show that it's going to be a close one, I'll monitor the injury status of the Knicks roster,  if Hart will play, probably my play would be the Knicks.

Losing Josh Hart to injury will be a very huge problem for the Knicks, I strongly doubt that the Knicks can afford to lose another player, they are barely getting by with OG Anunoby absence, and Hart is the second heart of the Knicks defence and without him with OG also still sideline, they don't stand a chance to beat the Pacer even if the decider is being played at MSG wouldn't matter.

I guess game 7 would have a different outcome, so betting this early might be a good thing to do as when Hart and OG will be announced as out, that time will probably shift. Pacers haven't won a game in MSG yet, game 7 might be the first time in the series. Spread now -2.5 for the Knicks, and the total is 209, this should easily go over IMO, or maybe betting on the Pacers TT over, that might be attractive as well.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fixed matches group in 3rd world countries on: May 18, 2024, 06:54:08 AM
This is the most legit way of having an info on the fixed match because you are given money to bet and you'll just getting shared with the winning. No risk on your side, unless you got caught for this illegal activity. Other people are offering it differently, they want you to subscribe to their group and you'll have to pay just to get a fixed matches info, those are so called outright scams.
225  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dips are temporary but Bitcoin is forever. on: May 17, 2024, 09:33:17 PM
Buy Bitcoin before the DIP, buy during the DIP, and buy after the DIP. Bitcoins isn't going anywhere anytime soon but most DIPs will be long gone and long gone for good. There are so many DIP price you can't buy Bitcoin at but you will always have those Bitcoin you bought during the DIP at an higher worth in the future, cease every opportunity of buying during the DIP, buy as much as you can at the moment cause DIPs are temporary but Bitcoin stays forever.

Just exactly as you said it, dips don’t last forever but bitcoin will last forever. We have witnessed some dips in the past before and we have gone far from them now and bitcoin will never retest that dip again no matter how dip the market is going to be again in the future. Dips come for those that missed to buy early to immediately jump into the market to also get to hold some coins on their portfolio the more. Dips are exciting times for long time holders that are DCAing because it always gives them the opportunity to buy at a cheaper price than what they bought before. Dips are integral part of the bitcoin ecosystem, so we can’t do without them and they favour a lot of long time holders in the system.
However, being scared to see bitcoin price falling into its dips is actually normal most especially for newbies. The important thing is, you don’t panic and create wrong decision making trying to sell at the wrong time. That is very common for newbies, they need to create mistakes and lose first so they will learn their lesson with bitcoin. Dips are temporary but it brings the best opportunity to gain huge profits. So don’t miss buying everytime dips are happening in the market.
226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has Trading Competitions competitions led you to challenge your skills? on: May 17, 2024, 08:34:19 PM
Competitions and challenges can be good to challenge your skills and motivate you to want to improve in trading.

But you should be careful too because if you try to partake in any of this kind of competitions before you are actually ready for it, you may actually just be preparing yourself to get depressed maybe from loosing in the competition and by thinking that there's probably too much in trading that you don't know and will never be able to learn because of some untrue reason etc.

Do not put yourself under pressure to compete with anyone.
It’s good to participate in some competitions and challenges because that will boost your interest and confidence to become a good and successful trader. If others are capable to do that, then that means you yourself will also be able to do that in the long run. However, trading have its own inevitable losses that will occur more most especially if you are still starting to learn. Just accept the reality that trading is not all about success and profits but also mistakes and losses as well. But if you have the impressive skills and strategies, then winning your trades consistently might be certain.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 17, 2024, 11:55:01 AM
The spread of the game is already out..

SMB -5.5 vs ROS,. We have the first game of the best of 7 series, I think in the first game they'll come up so confident after the win, especially the ROS who had a great shooting night when they beat the TNT, so I guess it's going to be over. Not taking the spread but I have the ROS to score over 104.5.

ROS only managed to score 98 points mate, though they have a decent percentage on the outside shooting but they struggle on the paint as they can't score easily with Junemar Fajardo manning the middle. I have not put a bet on this game as i was thinking that ROS might upset them on game 1 as ROS' confidence is high with that win over TNT the other night. As usual, Fajardo was somewhat unstoppable in this game, tallying 23 points and grabbing 16 rebounds, good numbers for his 8th MVP award hehe.

Guess the correct bet was ROS because even if they loss they still manage to cover the handicap. The line movement from -5.5 to -8.5 indicates that public bets are pushing the line so hard, and they didn't regret it as they all lose.  Grin

2nd game happening now, I didn't watch the game but maybe in the 2nd half I'll do. I had also place my bet already, I booked the under 177.5.

Good to all!
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 17, 2024, 05:29:11 AM
This has to be worst choke job by a fully healthy defending champ ever, right ? Their bench couldn't score until 37 minutes into the game ? Did defending champs ever score just 70 even in the days of 78-80 rock fights when no one knew how to shoot ? Is a 9 point quarter the worst a higher seed has ever recorded in the playoffs? Even if they win game 7, Dallas or OKC  should just start laughing hysterically when they take the court for a game 1.

Both teams had a bad game in this series, but they make and adjustment and still win, and that is the reason why we will be seeing a game 7 in this series. The crowd got involve early, i mean they really support the home team to win, and it happened. Yes, the Nuggets scored 70 points only, that's very low compared to their usual, but still it's just one game and now they are down to the last game of the series to determine who will advance in the Western Conference finals.

I'm not sure why it takes 3 consecutive wins against the Nuggets for the Wolves to make adjustments and decide to play good defense again lol.
I guess It's just in time that they hold off the Nuggets to just 70 pts and made a 50 pt lead when Rudy Gobert are taking huge critics against his another DPOY award. I'm not really a fan of the Timberwolves, but I admire their defense, they can't actually win against the Nuggets without a good defense. On all of the 3 wins they got against the Nuggets, they played good defense and locked down Murray. The Wolves just ended the game 6 crushing the Nuggets' confidence and gaining good momentum moving forward to game 7.
This is such an interesting series and the game 7 is definitely A MUST watch for everyone who's been locked in to the 2024 playoffs.

Well, that's how it turned out, so we have to accept it. Conley's absence in the last game was huge for the Wolves; they lost because their offense struggled without their floor general. Now that he's back, he was able to facilitate the ball well, and his three-point shooting is a real threat.

It doesn't matter, though. Let's forget about the past and focus on the last game of the series. Both teams have proven themselves already. Now it's time to bet on the team we want to win and forget about analyzing. We need to enjoy this great series.

230  Economy / Economics / Re: If you want to be wealthy you need action on: May 16, 2024, 09:38:58 PM
Success in life does not come by chance but through hard work and action people realize it. To get rich you have to move forward based on your own skills positive thinking people only succeed in the long run. So if you want to be rich then add positive thinking to your mindset. Get rid of negativity there is no substitute for doing the right thing at the right time in this case if you want to be rich you have to get rid of laziness. laziness has destroyed many people's talents it devalues human creativity and performance and hinders success.
Getting rich has definitely its own process. If you don’t go out from your comfort zone and take the risk and accept the challenge to get rich, you will never end up reaching that position. Success is achieved through various efforts and hardwork, not by simply sitting while waiting when you will hit success and get rich eventually. If you want to get rich, save and invest now even with the little amount you have, don’t miss these opportunities to get rich because you are busy working to increase your financial savings.

If a person invests in Bitcoin for the long term; he will surely get a huge return on investment. Over the years we have seen that the market has ultimately bounced back and touched new heights. Let's say a person bought Bitcoin in 2014 and now after 10 years you can easily calculate the ROI. Long-term holders do not panic from price correction because they know, just like the stock market, if the price dips, it will surely regain its initial value in due time.
Holding is not an easy thing to do, you have to calculate all the pros and cons before diving in. If a person is patient enough, he can make a fortune for his BTC / crypto investment.
Lucky are those who invested in bitcoin when the price is still very cheap and hold their coins up to the present because surely, huge profits await for them. But it does not mean that those who plan to invest and hold at the moment will not gonna make it big just like the early investors. There’s no late when it comes to bitcoin as opportunities are limitless, so if you can maximize your investment now while bitcoin price is not too high, then you will also be highly capable to make it big with bitcoin in the future. Long term hodling is the key.

So we have the game 6 tomorrow between the Nuggets and Wolves.

Who among us here still believe that the Wolves could bring the series to Nuggets? Personally, I find it almost impossible for the Wolves to win after Jokic torture the defensive player in game 5, and judging on the outcome of the last 3 games, Wolves IMO has no chance of winning.

game 3 112 - 97
game 4 115 - 107
game 5 117 - 90

Game 4 was the closest but it was already controlled by the Denver.
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: May 16, 2024, 12:00:22 PM
And imagine the trash talking of Tank Davis and not respecting Loma at all.

That would motivate Loma more, of course he can do that because that's part of marketing, he sell the fight and both are happy with the paycheck. Based on the current ranking now, it's Tank Davis who is above Loma, so most likely the betting odds will favorr Tank Davis as the heavy favorite, and that means we all who believe in Loma here will be happy betting on Loma.

Tank hasn't fought a tough challenger after beating Ryan, I think this time he needs to consider Loma which is a real threat to him.
234  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can I get into trading on: May 16, 2024, 10:54:03 AM
As someone who’s new to this space and wants to start trading, what are the steps I can take to start and how much of fund do I need to start?.
What wallet is best for me? Can I use meta trader?
Starting one way or another is the most important part. Some say get a mentor, some say learn from youtube, some say learn from reading books, some say learn from doing it, there will be a lot of ways that people will suggest, and most of them are free so just do all of them if you can but the most important thing is to be 100% in it mentally.

A lot of people can be 100% in it financially without being in it mentally, you need to realize that you are going to make some money from this and if you can't do that then there is no reason to keep doing it. I believe that it would be quite tough if we ignore that, and we should just make sure that we are all in. If we can be mentally involved then we would be able to slowly get better and better.
The only difficult in learning trading is only at the beginning as you have to explore a lot of possibilities so you can maximize your learning process. After that, when you think you are knowledgeable enough, then start to engage in real trading even with only a small amount. Don’t expect to gain profits immediately as it would be impossible for beginner traders. But instead, everytime you lose, make it as your bigger motivation to learn and improve more. If you do it consistently, things will definitely turn good in the long run.

Note that successful traders today have their fair share of losses and mistakes when they were starting  but instead of getting discouraged and scared, they use it as their motivation to learn more in trading until they become excellent traders in the market.
235  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: People are interesting talking more about their success stories. on: May 15, 2024, 09:58:11 PM
Of course, one wouldn’t reach the peak of success without enduring hardships and failures at first. I think that’s a common sense. But if your point is to let everyone know their losses and failures first before they have reached their current position now, I think that would certainly take a lot of time reading.

But I suggest you try to experience it all alone, that way you will also encounter all by yourself some failures and losses that those successful people have endured way back then.
236  Economy / Economics / Re: Ever dreamt of turning your passion into profit? on: May 15, 2024, 08:59:25 PM
I feel like if I do it, I'd get drained doing what I love, I think that there's a fine line between money making and passion project and there's lines that you don't want to cross. I personally don't want my passion in art to be a job but I do accept commissions, I still don't see why I should be doing it full time, I'm having fun and I'm getting paid with what I deserve and I don't get burned out which is the best thing plus I'm not going to get exchange that for anything in this world, maybe at a certain price but I don't want to risk hating what I love to do because I decided to milk it for money.
Well, I guess you won’t get drained if you get satisfaction from your passion. If you love what you’re doing, then I see no risks and issues with it if you make it as your source of living. Although I’m not saying to leave your job and stick to your passion, but if you can make your passion turn into a side hustle, I guess that would be more fulfilling and satisfying on your part. You get the chance to enhance your passion and show to the world, plus you get paid for it, for me that creates bigger motivation on my part.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I returned my father's property to my father through Bitcoin investment. on: May 15, 2024, 02:31:53 PM
Investing in Bitcoin always feels different from investing in other types of coins. At a price of $30k you buy Bitcoin and sell it at a price of $70k, you have made a big profit. Why someone needs to have Bitcoin as an investment asset, in my opinion, one of them is an incident like what you experienced.
It is not uncommon for Bitcoin investors to earn huge returns when the price of Bitcoin soars higher than the purchase price rather than piling money into other coins.

What can be taken from your story, whether it is fictional or not, is that you are a lucky person. If at this time you continue to buy Bitcoin and hold it, you will have better luck when bullish.
I cannot tell exactly that OP is lucky because he invested a lot of patience understanding the price volatility of bitcoin, and trusted bitcoin despite of its uncertainty, and now he is only reaping what he sow months ago. His investment has paid off and give him massive profits in the end. So it’s not actually luck, since he work on it to make his investment come into fruition.

45-59 ROS> This is a win for the ROS I guess.  Just like in game 2, Oftana is still limited, so I guess ROS will likely win here.

Don't count them out yet, we still have the 2nd half. I think TNT will not go down without a fight, if there's a chance take the TNT handicap as they might come back and cover the handicap even if they loss the game. 3 point shooting was very bad for TNT, they are only 2-14, and since that is their main weapon, if the struggle continues, they'll loss.

Yeah you are right, they really didn't give up and made a big run in the 4th quarter, even bring down the lead to 1 point only but when Pogoy, the TNT have struggled on their offense. It was game full of thrill because the comeback is possible to be completed, but ROS were able to prevent that from happening and beat the TNT by 1 point only.

Final score 110-109/

Kelly Williams 32 points for TNT

Mamuyac 25 points for ROS
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 15, 2024, 12:59:27 PM
Right, 3 straight wins now, it feels like they are going to make a sweep (technically though it is not considered, but winning 4 straight games after a losing the first 2 in your homecourt, tells something about the character of the Nuggets).

Now, the Nuggets have gotten the hang of it, and it looks like they are going to win this series. Honestly, I expected more from the Wolves since they started this series well. However, it seems like they are very dependent on how Edwards performs, and the result of this game is a good example of that because his performance in this game was mediocre due to poor shooting percentage.

There's no more chance for the Wolves as it's 3 straight games that they are not as competitive as they were in game 1 and 2. Wolves offense are nowhere to be found because they don't have a PG that makes their ball rotation better, without Conley, this is over, so if they want to even the series, Conley has to play in game 6.

ANT had the lowest output in the series with 18 points, and based on my observation, Minny now is quite hesitant to shoot the ball, they slowly loss their confidence.
240  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED on: May 14, 2024, 09:53:27 PM
TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED
Crypto trading and unemployment are two different problems, where someone is an expert and understands crypto trading, of course this activity can become a job that makes him a lot of money every day, that's for sure, but it applies to those who are experts in that field/trade.

On the other hand, for those who do not understand trading at all, they only know, they have never studied, they immediately want to trade, If that happens, I'm sure that trading could result in unemployment and disaster for him, the understanding of these two factors depends on how they do it.
Well, as long as trading provides opportunities to gain profits, that will be considered a job that offers an income. You will exert time and efforts for you to succeed and be able to gain an income. However, if you jump into trading without learning and understanding its nature first, it will never be a job to consider. Although it might be an attempt to gain profits, but the process might only turn into a failure, and probably end up like gambling.
