221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond DMD - new PoW/PoS coin | Super random blocks | Only 4.38 mil total on: July 16, 2013, 10:08:10 PM
Oh just found that bitbar was trading 1bitbar = 20 bitcoins in May Cheesy untill people started talking that there is quite big premine Cheesy

Yeah it was insanely high.

BTB also had pools stealing coins if I remember correctly, and there was like only 1 pool available.

Yes it is in the code (max money).
There was no premine in BTB, the difficulty just started out way to low which led to many BTB (almost 2K of the 4.3K outstanding) being mined the first few days.  This is why the price plummeted on the exchange as people went to unload their large mining score of the rare coin.  Only the first few sellers made a lot since the price dropped off quickly and the low diff glut of BTB can be had cheaply now.  This will work itself out as time goes on since it was a small percentage of the total BTB (0.4%).  I like most of the POS coins that have come out so far and DMD also seems to be well made.

I don't want to offend or anything, I like BTB at this point (yes I have them too), but let's be fair:
- There was 60 block premine by one of testers and coin creator admitted it, those 60 coins were sold for more than 1 BTC, later they were bought back and given to first exchange.

I guess you are right, but it was not designed by the devs and the guy lost money on his accidental premine. (he had to buy them back at a higher price)

Sorry to divert the thread too much, back to DMD

We need to learn from past problems, so no prob in discussing other coins a little bit.

Anyway! hopefully we will have exchange soon. OP of this topic seams to be quiet person, but I hope he is working on something :-)

Yeah... I hope that cryptsy adds the coin in the future... in my opinion, DMD should be worth more because there are only 4.38 mil Smiley

You have a point, it's 5x less coins total than bitcoin will have .. I guess we should go for 1 DMD = 5 BTC Cheesy

To be correct... 4,7945205479452054794520547945205 Grin ...

at that price we probably will be drunk and will not care anymore Cheesy

How many total BTB? This coin seems like it can be up there with it in price.

I never found anything about BitBar... but as far as I know NVC has 2 billion coins...

Funny, I just went through all their pages and forum topics and NOTHING, it was never told how many bitbars there will be total! In all cases they just use "Ultra rare" Cheesy

I would assume that bitbar is somewhere close to NVC, but as they haven't ever released information it as well can be 100 billion bitbars and people were scammed in thinking that it is rare Cheesy

We need to push this coin on cryptsy, this is great one, should be in same price level as BTB,NVC or even more.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RED] REDCOIN PAYMENT GATEWAY SCRIPT - FREE!! AND EASY!! on: July 16, 2013, 01:43:31 PM
I actually think this is a great step forward for RedCoin.

I like coins with developer support. Anywhere I can buy this coin already? Didn't see it on Cryptsy yet.

edit: they are on coins-e but I can't register... don't get the activation link by e-mail, not in spambox too...

I hope coins-e fix his site. the red market is quite active there

Cryptsy,  did say to me he was looking at the coin, so maybe its will be listed.

Lets all pray together:  "Dear God of crypto, please list redcoin on cryptsy" hopefully that works Grin

I was bitching about this coin as support was weak and you had bumpy start ... but respect for creating gateway script so soon after release!

You probably should inform cryptsy about this new development and that people want for it to be on their exchange. This thing will push you to front of next additions to cryptsy, as this prooves value of coin and team behind it. Cryptsy is very cautios on adding new coins as so many are dead within few days.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think that ripple is the future on: July 16, 2013, 10:14:59 AM
It is interesting to hear that ripple is scam from TradeFortress mouth ... He is most hated person in that community, because he simply scammed bunch(I mean something close to 100) of newbies that were trying to try out ripple system.

Now on other part - talking about ripple in this forum is not a good idea. This is for people who only consider complete decentralized and opensource projects, which ripple isn't. So bringing up ripple in here is suicide.

Some people are not that close minded. And I agree that ripple need to be opensource but the code will be released. It's just it's in beta and they want to have a stable protocol before spreading it.

You simply have chosen wrong forum, here you will find only people who believe in opensource and DECENTRALIZED things. Only thing you will get here is a lot of hate.

Don't get me wrong, I am ripple supporter and keep most of my digital investments in it, but this forum section is for decentralized, opensource altcoins. Forum itself is for decentralized, opensource bitcoin. Discussing rippe in here is simply wrong and this topic will be big hate and swear words library for next generations.

232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTS] Selling 8500 TDC (tradecoin) for any other coins. Make your offers on: July 15, 2013, 09:45:57 PM
ANY other coins?

I have 1600 Weedcoin  Grin

Yes I will consider ANY other coins as I am interested in many newly created altcoins and in established ones too. I currently hold around 40 different coins

I will pass on your offer for two reasons 1) 1600 is too small amount 2) weedcoin seems to be dead

235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: {ANN} Cloudcoin CDC Prerelease Announcement - POS/POW Scheme on: July 15, 2013, 04:08:34 PM
There is a point in not giving bonus for early miners, I can understand that.

I myself don't have anything against premine, but many people have problem with that and it creates a lot of bad words floating around.

Probably the best you can do is to do some premine but be very precise about how much you did and from very beginning state clearly with list and numbers where it will be spent.

Smart people don't like premine if there is no information where it will go, but they are fine if they see where it will be spent and have updates when you do that spending.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: {ANN} Cloudcoin CDC Prerelease Announcement - POS/POW Scheme on: July 15, 2013, 03:51:43 PM
Instead of a premine, do the early adoption bonus that seems to be working (ie. day 1, 2 and 3 rewards start off high and taper off to normality from day 3 or 4 onwards).

+1

This is the best way - everybody will be happy that there is no premine, and you and people who want to risk jumping in new coin will have nice reward for their effort.

Also it will be easier to promote with making people understand that they need to jump in now not wait and forget about it.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin overheating 95C - 100C? bad for ATI? on: July 15, 2013, 03:45:55 PM
First of all - technically graphic cards can work up to 115 degrees (celsius) yes, it is over magic 100 number.

Ask any manufacturer they will say - it is fine.

Problem - none of them have tested what will happen if you run your card for weeks at that temperature Cheesy

And with any electronics cosmic law is - lower temperature = works faster, and will live for much longer.

We have hot summer too, but here is what I have:

gaming case with 3 coolers and proper airflow, HD6870 with 2 coolers on it

when I pushed mining settings to best I can it was running 85 degrees with coolers working 100%

.... then I opened case and cleaned everything, especially my card and it's two coolers Cheesy

Now it runs 79 degrees with coolers on 60%
or < 60 degrees with coolers on 85%

Point is - if you want to make load on your card and pc constantly:
1) clean it often
2) get proper case with proper ventilation and coolers

my opinion - there is never too much coolers (I am adding 2 more high pressure intake coolers on my case soon)

NO PREMINE!!

The ammount you insta-mined, with those retarded block rewards, who needs a premine? There's something to be said for transparency. Good luck

I threw 10mh/s at it for 24 hours, does that mean that I pre-mined someone else's coin? Moron.

Yes of course! Didn't you know that mining = stealing ? Cheesy
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GLC] GlobalCoin Pre-Release Info Thread | Released on: July 15, 2013, 02:45:30 PM
I solo mined blocks with my cpu until this rush.

This is historic moment for some miners, for rest of us it is pain in the ass

240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GLC] GlobalCoin Pre-Release Info Thread | Released on: July 15, 2013, 02:19:20 PM
Diff drop. Get mining Smiley Last big push to get to block 40k and our final reward of 100 coins

Cheesy push is too big, I am getting only rejects and pools seems to be in same problem.

No problems for me/others, rejects will happen due to diff being so low. And the fact you have 50-100khs will mean you will be beaten to the blocks but you will get your share Smiley

That is the point - diff is killer right now Cheesy I am solo mining right now and from around 100 blocks only 6 were not rejected.

Regarding pool I stopped mining on pool because last found block was 20 minutes ago and I had ~20 blocks myself, but they did not appear in found blocks list, so I assume same diff problem is for pool too and someone big is taking blocks from us all:D

I have ~270kh/s HD6870
just have 270kh.s i think you don't have any chance for solo mining. Smiley

With this low diff I have small chance as blocks are flowing like river, unfortunately all are rejected except for 6 I got :-)

What my point is - this low difficulty is killer for solo and for pool too

For examplewhat is going on in pool right now:
I have 30 blocks found on pool mining - none of them are showing in pool block view so I assume they are rejected;
Pool all together last 30 minutes has - 6 Orphans in a row 0 valid ones

So pool mining is also not an option right now, all shares go in toilet

So my point is - this push is too large, and only few very very big people are getting something out of it. Pool gets nothing and I get nothing

Edit:
Pool situation: 11 Orphans and 4 fine
