5. Pop up notification on message
If we receive a message, we got notification through email as well as (1) written with our my message. If you are not using an active email, chance is you may notice it lately even though you browse the forum because it's too small too get noticed. In that case, if you think it's a problem, you can switch on option which will send you pop up message once you receive a message.

Click on Personal Message Option and check the 3rd option shown as below and save this.

Nice guide, but I don't think that there are so many users need to customize their Personal Message Control Panel like this. Because I believe most of users do not make too many PMs back and forth. It is different for managers, or established users, but for normal users, like me, there are very little PMs in my Inbox/Outbox. Anyway, thanks for making this guide, that I did not know how to use it.
OP can send listing request to this thread: List of useful Threads!
I think most of the people use the PM of this forum because here we have different types of people, mostly people join here for doing some busnisses, part time jobs and signature campaign.
PM system of the forum can act as a good channel in the communication.
2205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best place to learn about Bitcoin? on: July 06, 2019, 07:15:29 AM
I highly suggest you to engage in the forum discussion about bitcoin. Search with keywords for specific information. Create thread if you don't find it.
Spend some couple of week this way, I guess you will learn it easily.

"Necessity is the mother of invention."

I have been having a long conversation with a user here for the last 2 months. Within this period, I had PM with some other user as well. At some point, I was not anymore able to catch up on the discussion with the user who I have been having a conversation for the last 2 months.
So, I tried to find out an easy way, had a discussion here and thought to share the effective use of the Personal Message of the forum.

The basic is inbox and outbox which we all are known to. I'm leaving that part, I will only discuss the other option which we never used or we never have been known.

1. Check latest activity

Image Loading

If you click on My Messages, you will get this list. Here in this list, you may get some with an arrow(point with yellow color), some without an arrow. The arrow points that you have been responded to that message, without an arrow points you have not responded to that message.

2. Label
Label is a way of filtering message as per needed. For ex. if you want to filter message by a certain user, put his name(anything) on the bow and click on add a label first. For test purpose, I have created a label namely "test".

Image Loading

3. Add message manually to label
Under each of the message, you will see the option to label that message as shown in the image below.

Now, click on the dropdown list and select your specific label name.

4. Check the magic labels
Now, you will find your labels under the inbox & outbox menu. Click on your certain label to catch up all the message on that label.

Some of the info has been taken from- https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Personal_messages

5. Pop up notification on message
If we receive a message, we got notification through email as well as (1) written with our my message. What do you recommend to see if it's worth going to the next step of professional recovery??
I can't remember the service providor name, there's a recovery service which offer a percentage of the total bitcoin.
Move it to bitcoin technical discussion, you will get better solution.
2209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit question? on: July 03, 2019, 10:07:16 AM
The merit button will be visible only if the person has atleast one sMerit to send that is why OP not aware of that sending merit.
This is not true, as far as I can remember, I have seen merit option when I didn't have smerit and when I was a newbie.
2210  Other / Meta / Re: Personal Message Format (Conversation) on: July 03, 2019, 09:04:10 AM
'My Messages' -> on the left site click 'Search Messages' (click here for direct link) -> enter the username into the field 'by user' -> click on search -> profit
Thank you but I didn't get what I'm looking for.
If I follow your suggestion, system asks me to put a query(part of a message), but it doesn't execute the conversation. I'm looking for the total conversation with a certain user, for ex. bob123

Edit
If I put a query and check the box "Show full message in results", I get all the message from a certain user.
Thank you.
But it would be better to have the total conversation.
2211  Other / Meta / Personal Message Format (Conversation) on: July 03, 2019, 08:49:00 AM
I was trying to check my personal message which I have had with an user for last 2 months. Most of the times, we didn't quoted the whole message because it's irritating. But now, it has turned into more irritating. I am not able to follow the conversation because I had messages with others as well.

Is it possible to have conversation format of a certain user only?
2212  Other / Meta / Re: CHANGE YOUR EXPIRED EMAIL ADDRESS OR GET HACKED on: July 01, 2019, 05:20:32 AM
I was registered in year 2016, so I guess I'm safer.
If you are using expired email, I guess you are still in the same risk as anyone can re-register that email and reset password.

I've made my own "bitcoin balance image" server that also supports Segwit addresses (bech32 included). In case you want to use in your script.

Deal- He will deposit me 3 BTC in nentrade.com and I will give him 2 BTC out of my pocket, prior to this, at some point he asked me if I had any BTC.
Basically such deal is clearly a scam one. He have BTC stucked on one exchanges (not sure how much, for example: 5 BTC). Then, he send to your account 3 BTC, and wait to get back from you with onlyl 2 BTC. It means at start he might get 8 BTC loses if you can withdraw 5 BTC and run away. He might ask you to go first, and such thing is another reason to point out scam efforts.
I think only greedy guy might fall into that stupid trap. Personally, I don't see reason to take risk with my 2 BTC just to get back some promised bonus.
I guess you have messed up the point.
He initially said he has BTC stucked on exchange but later, he said he will deposit me BTC in nentrade.
2216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin transaction on: June 28, 2019, 03:46:12 AM

This is not a con for that case?
Yes, no cons.
Say, you are using single address, you have received 3 transactions on that address. Your input will be 3.
Now, say, you used 3 different addresses for receiving that 3 transactions. Still the input is 3.
Therefore, both are same. Using different address is giving you extra security.

Quote
They can also know that if you use one single exchange
Thanks for that, but I'm a little bit concern or curious how the fees calculated on every transaction.
Not very detailed but I think it will be informative for you- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5139978.msg50923572#msg50923572

Quote
But when I did this, does the still the same if I will combine all input into single one address of the same wallet? than sending those input to another wallet address?
Same, discussed in 1st quote.
2217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin transaction on: June 28, 2019, 01:56:18 AM
2.) I also noticed that if you have much input in one transaction, the transaction size gets bigger, then it requires some huge fee to confirm my transaction.(Let's say my example transaction above is executed).
       - How can I prevent or solve this problem (having a huge fee)?
Say, you have 0.10 BTC in an address. You received it in 3 steps.
0.03, 0.04, 0.03
Now, if you want to send 0.05 BTC, your input will be 2.
If you want to send 0.03 BTC or lower, your input will be 1.
If you want to send 0.07 BTC, your input will be 3.

Input is which BTC are you sending, not related to address. It would be the same if you had 0.10 BTC divided in 3 address.
So, using multiple address won't give you any cons.

bitmover has linked a thread, when fee is lower, you can combine all the input into a single one. In that way, you can avoid the extra fee for more inputs.
2218  Other / Beginners & Help / New way of scam, be aware on: June 27, 2019, 05:23:38 PM
Someone knocked me on telegram couple of hours ago and asked me if I know about cryptocurrency.
He said he is from China and can't withdraw his bitcoin from an exchange due to the ban. He asked me to withdraw the bitcoin for him and offered me 30% of the withdraw.
Exchange- nentrade.com
He asked me to create an account there. Later, he will deposit. This is a bit fishy. First he said, he has BTC on exchange. Now, his tone changed and he is asking me to create account and give address.

Deal- He will deposit me 3 BTC in nentrade.com and I will give him 2 BTC out of my pocket, prior to this, at some point he asked me if I had any BTC.

Later, I searched about the exchange and saw the site was created 14 days ago. See the screenshot.
