2201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 09, 2022, 10:31:16 PM
The premier league matches this weekend have already been postponed as a sign of mourning the death of the queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II. The decision to postpone the events was passed by the English government in a 12 day mourning week. I can't believe there won't be league games this weekend, this will be a boring weekend for me, I can feel it already.
You are not alone, my weekend schedule usually comprises of the premier League as an important part of it. They should have added extra 6 minutes each to every premier League game this weekend to mark the 96yrs that she died instead, rather than postponing all the games. No premier league action, the next action to look forward to is the UCL in anticipation of the EPL to return in full momentum.
2202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Hail The Queen! An Outlook Into UK's Crypto Ownership and NFTs Market. on: September 09, 2022, 08:49:41 PM
How does the demise of Queen Elizabeth II affect the UK crypto market? Let's discuss.
Scammers will take advantage of her death and try to devise a means to benefit this season via crypto, you can already hear that there was massive token launch themed after the queen just immediately after her death .  For people who will fall prey to these cheap scams as new comers, it may affect their decision to want to be in the crypto market.
2203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Scam Tokens in the name of late Queen Elizabeth on: September 09, 2022, 01:06:24 PM
These scammers are really fast, it is very remarkable how within just 24 hours of the queens death, they have launched scam tokens themed around her. You will be surprised that they already may have gotten a few victims who have fallen prey especially those in the UK. I sincerely hope no newbie here is that dumb not to be able to discern that this is another activity of scammers.
2204  Economy / Economics / Re: California passes law requiring companies to reveal pay by race, gender on: September 09, 2022, 12:35:20 PM
I think this carries the potential to become a dual edged sword. While the information might be used to fuel equality. It would also make it easier for employers and businesses to discriminate based upon those data points.
Though the intention may be right, but I think just as you said, the data also has the capacity to be abused and used negatively against the colored skinned individuals. Reforms can be made IMO without the necessary need to differentiate individuals from different race so that the thought of racial superiority that leads to racism, something that we all have fought so hard to abolish will not begin to be invested ones again in the mind of uncultured individuals.
2205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 09, 2022, 04:50:15 AM
I heard the news after the death of Queen Elizabetz leaving the world and there are reports that all sports will be postponed including the Premier League match for tomorrow although in the article there is no official mandate from the British government but this will likely be postponed for all sports that will be playing this week, I know this honors Queen Elizabeth, who died at the age of 96.
All premier League games have been postponed for two weeks as an appropriate time to mourn the death of the longest monarch. This may seem a bit disappointing to people like me who always look forward to premier league weekend but on another hand, this is an advantage for clubs like Arsenal and chelsea, for Arsenal it has provided enough time for the return of some of our injured players like Partey and Elneny to the team, and that is important for our next game where we must win all three points to remain top of the table. For Chelsea, the break will provide the time for the team to get used to the pattern of their new coach Graham Potter before the EPL continues.
2206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of Mobile Gambling Is Leaving People Ruined and Unable to Quit on: September 08, 2022, 10:20:49 PM
First I would like to add clarity to the narrative of this topic which can be mistaken to mean that mobile gambling is the chief ruinner of people's life. It is important to note that prior to the rise of mobile gambling there have also been some other things on mobile phone that people have access to that could ruin their life as well.

Perhaps treatment centers would be located in remote areas with no internet access? That seems like it could represent a good first step.
Another treatment that can help is the possible withdrawal or refrain from using phones with internet connections for a long period of time so you could gain control and break free from the addiction of always wanting to press your phone and surf on the internet. If you stay off the internet for a long time and depend less on your phone, and engaging yourself with other physical activities that existed long before the popularity of mobile phones, you will find out that if you begin to use a phone with an internet connection again you have better control of what you do on it.

Meanwhile, Manchester United just lost to Real Sociedad
I wouldn't say I was quite surprised with the results for Manchester United I think the coach already has only one squad and doesn't know how to properly rotate the players yet. Ronaldo still failed to score his first goal of the season regardless of him starting today.

After the game, a Manchester United supporter on my whatsapp, came to my DM to argue about the penalty that was awarded saying that it was not a penalty and they were robbed. I don't see how true that is, because it was double checked by VAR and I'm certain the officials had their reasons for awarding it. Plus Manchester United could have equalised if the they had played really well and made use of their opportunities, the credibility of the penalty would not have come up as a topic for debate.

Congratulations Arsenal, a well deserved victory.

2209  Economy / Economics / Re: What define your success, "money, fame or achievement"? on: September 08, 2022, 03:35:01 PM
Success and achievement go far beyond money, recognition, wealth and status.
Exactly, although money, recognition, wealth and status can be good measures of success, it is not success itself. Currently the biggest way people quantify success is by financial gain (money), this can be misleading as money can still be gotten without aim and purpose achieved. Hence, you cannot say it success because it does not agree with definition of success according to oxford which defines success as the "accomplishment of aim and purpose".

I think I would prefer Graham Potter. He’s has done an outstanding job in Brighton. If he comes to Chelsea, it's a win win situation for him. He will get the chance to demonstrate himself as a top manager in a champions league playing team.
Do you really think Graham Potter is the man for the job, or sentiments are just being attached to his selection because of his recent success with Brighton. In terms of experience and since the champions league defeat seemed to have been what prompted Tuchels sack, Graham Potter doesn't really have any experience with champions league football and has only coached three teams in his career (Östersund, Swansea City, Brighton & Hove Albion). Chelsea's next game is against Fulham in the EPL & in Champions league game is against RB Salzburg, all eyes will be on the new coach to see if he can inspire a better performance from his new Chelsea team.
2211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: September 08, 2022, 06:06:29 AM
Liverpool have followed suit in taking their own hit in today's game after Chelsea's yesterday away match defeat and they even had worst defeat than Chelsea, This is just the beginning of the UEFA Champions League group stage match and there's no need to be panicking.

There's a need to panic actually, they have lost an important three points in such a competition that usually has unpredictable results. I wonder if their management will want to take a rash decision like the way Chelsea did. I have always said that Liverpool has not been Liverpool this season even after they were able to score nine goals against a team this season in the EPL. Since Mane left, they have simply just lost a form of momentum they had, I don't think they will recover just yet even if they try, this champions league is not for them.

The English teams with a potential to go far in this competition are Manchester city surely, Tottenham and most likely Chelsea but not Liverpool.
2212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiat Banks Conspiracy Against Customers. Bitcoin is the Best Option on: September 07, 2022, 05:30:44 PM
All these nonsense can never happened in bitcoin space. Really I don't think such thing will happen in crypto ecosystem. Since bitcoin uses p2p, I can use my fund at anytime. The only thing that can hinder my transaction is network.
The banks can be really frustrating at times and I can imagine how frustrated you must have felt. Personally as much as possible, I try to avoid anything that will take me to the bank because there is always a queue and you get exhausted easily with their very snail speed service in attending to all the customers.

Banks can generally be under instruction from one body because of their centralized nature to not operate and that will have a general effect on all customers, but with bitcoin via your wallets creators, there is no centralized body controlling them, so there is no possibility that one day they all will generally just decide to not operate and frustrate customers like the banks have done to you.

Breaking News :
Chelsea sack manager following Champions League defeat

In my opinion, the decision was quite too rash and abrupt, Tuchel should have been given a little more time to get a grip of this new team. Not like he has not won the UCL with them or like he has played a couple of UCL games without victory, or that Chelsea is been threatened by relegation on the EPL table, but to end the contract on such short notice because of just one bad performance immediately after he just finished signing players is really not commendable to me. Some players may not feel happy about this new development, especially the likes of Aubumeyang who just joined them and we know his relationship with Tuchel had a big effect on his decision to join Chelsea, to reunite with his former coach who added a spark to his career. I wish Chelsea well however and that any replacement they decide be suitable for them.
2214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [NEWS] Gambler Charged with Murder after Letting Kids Die on: September 07, 2022, 12:23:53 PM
I wonder if there are parents who have experienced something like this...
Unfortunately, there are a lot of irresponsible parents. Becoming a parent is huge responsibility that has come upon ones shoulder, and it is not something someone should hurry into knowing that they are not yet ready for the responsibility that the name brings. For this purpose, "child protective service" was set up to combat such cases of irresponsible parenting so the children do not suffer from the irresponsibility of their parents. If this irresponsible parenting that has lead to the death of this children was noticed and reported on time, because it definitely did not just start that day, the kids would not have died. Unfortunately, no amount of court case will bring the dead kids back to life, it is now a lesson for all who come across the story to learn from.
2215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: September 06, 2022, 10:34:35 PM
Loved Valvades vision to set up the goal for Vini Junior. Luka Modric performing magic in the eighteen box a whole lotta technique used to score that second goal for Real Madrid. Got bored and tired didn't get to see Eden Hazard back scoring goals.
Immediately benzema was removed from the game due to that injury and hazard introduced I knew it was going to be Vini jnr that was most likely to bang in their first goal, and it happened thus. Good follow-up goals from Luka modric and Eden Hazard, Real Madrid have started again in flying form.

Manchester City has an astonishing display, Erling Haaland now getting unplayable game after game,
Haaland is the icing on the cake for Manchester city, this season I believe they and pep will have a great shot at winning the champions League finally with Haaland in this great form. He is a cheat code for goals!

Chelsea lossing again as a result of poor decisions and poor players they have in midfield.
Chelsea spent the most money in the last transfer window, there shouldn't be any complaints about poor players because to the best of my knowledge they have an ample supply of quality players but it seems the coach has lost his touch or still finding a way on how to properly use them. The coach also needs to devise another means of play for Chelsea instead of dependence on playing in from the flanks which most clubs already know is their pattern of play. It was a really very disappointing results that they couldn't even score a goal against a team considered by many to be the weakest in the group. they played very lazy football and we have to improve and do better if they consider themselves as candidates for this season's champions League title.

2216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RUIZ VS ORTIZ SUN, SEP 04, 2022 10PM ET EASTERN TIME/ on: September 06, 2022, 10:16:04 PM
Go Ortiz , Beat Ruiz now  Grin
I formerly thought that ortiz will have an upper hand considering his age will be an advantage for him via experience, but his age seem to have made him slower and less reactive. Ortiz should now consider retirement. Ruiz was smart, relentless and formidable in the fight, throwing everything he had over to Ortiz even to the very last round after dropping him three times during the to fight. Looking ahead, Ruiz should be ready to fight Wilder next, surely the two formidable boxers will put a great show.

I would really need the advice of old members here to know the kind of posts that will earn me merits.
You will get many answers on how to get merits, all of the answers are all correct and unique in that every user is sharing their own personal tip on how they got merits or how someone they have observed did. For me, I'd say you focus less on merits and seek more ways to provide value here in the forum first, then the merits will surely follow. Be original and expressive in all your contributions, so other members can quickly recognize you as a quality member of forum.

My passion for Bitcoin and Bitcoin talk led me to host a Bitcoin Live session at the radio station where I work
Great Job OP! you hold such an important and powerful position, a position that can be leveraged on to share information to thousands of people as the radio still remains one of the most efficient tools for communication and it attracts and gets through to people even in the very rural areas, where other forms of media can't get to. I advocate for more live sessions if possible, we all need to keep sharing this good news of bitcoins to every ear willing to hear.
2219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Super Rich people have nothing to worry about Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology on: September 06, 2022, 12:01:08 AM
I will tell of one thing surely, that the rich or "super" rich however you put it, worry and even think a lot more than you can imagine. The thought and worry of how not to become broke, how to make more money to sustain their lifestyle and do better keeps bugging.
there are different ways one can implement his/her hard work, it could physically, intellectually, and technologically, and there is always a reward for it
Some will propose that the intellectual requirement needed to build wealth is even more demanding than the physical work that OP considers hard work alone. Please do not downplay the efforts of men and women who have worked hard intellectually also to be where they are today.
2220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 05, 2022, 11:47:22 PM
Despite that loss Arsenal are still keeping their lead. This would be a pretty nice motivation for them after that result. Their next game is against Everton in Emirates.
We played well against Manchester United and I predict our game against Everton to end in our favor, that is Arsenal wining. The season is becoming tougher and all the teams are slowly reshuffling themselves into their right position on the table, Manchester United is now on fire, Chelsea will pick up surely, likewise Liverpool. Tottenham is not slowing down as well...Arsenal and also Brighton Hove Albion will have to put an extra effort to maintain top four position till the seasons break.
