2201  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: May 3rd to May 14th diff thread. not open for picks yet. on: May 04, 2015, 03:15:14 PM
Biggest thing we actually have passed 240 on btc.  Were at 241 with a little upward trend.
I'm hoping the trend continues.  My S3s are well beyond my initial expected lifespan for them at this point.  When I first got them I figured I'd be lucky to make it until December of last year before they became unprofitable.
Luckily there are not huge difficulty jumps anymore. And so far for the last 6 months there has been a total of 20% increase, which is awesome for us.
Exactly... last year if you even thought about posting a difficulty increase of less than 10% every 12 days people wrote you off as insane.  Now it's May, 2015 and the difficulty has gone up about 7B since November (from about 40B to about 47B).  My gear remains mining Smiley.
2202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is this transaction already confirmed? on: May 04, 2015, 02:24:41 PM
Thanks for the response guys but I found the real problem: I hadn't updated armory so it couldn't get connected. My armory finally got online today but I don't see the bitcoins on my account D:
Any way to get them? thanks :S

Has the wallet already 100% sync? If not, be patient, when the blockchain is fully downloaded to the local disk, you will see the money.

It's not lost because blockchain can't lie, all what I see is you just need to sync your wallet.  Tongue
If you want, you could always export your private key for the address that holds the coins, and then import in something like blockchain.info's online wallet if you need immediate access to the coins.

2204  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo mining lottery on: May 04, 2015, 02:13:37 PM
That sounds good actually, because small miners hardly count unless you put them on rent on some site.
I was thinking to give some time to mining(Solo mining) , what do you think would be the correct Hash Power i will need to find a block let's say in a week ?

I believe you need to have around 0.3% of the network to get a block a week. 1PH.

1 PH Undecided
That sounds too much Cheesy
Thanks anyway
It's definitely not 1PH/s.  You can solve the equation yourself and figure out how much hash you need to have in order to expect to find a block in a week:
Code:
47643398017 * 2^32 / hash rate = 604800
Hash rate = 338338023070975.95
So, you'd need to have about 338TH/s.
2205  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 42 blocks solved! on: May 04, 2015, 02:06:37 PM
Hi guys!
first; sorry, my English is not well!
that lucky winner was me. thanks all Grin
i spent 17 BTCs for this block. so it's about 8 BTCs profit.
last time i rent 1phs with 9.2btcs in a fixed order.i didn't cancel my order. it was over(or maybe nicehash did something samrtly after block found!). i was getting disappointed in last minutes! these 9.2 btcs was my last bitcoins!
Congrats on the block find!  17BTC to make 25 is not a bad deal at all.
2206  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: how to install 50 miner ? on: May 03, 2015, 08:48:52 PM
I living apartment and i dont know where put miner what places ?

I think on balcon
HAHAHA!!! You are living in an apartment and think you can have 50 miners???  LOL!

Seriously, just stop.  You can't even figure out 1 S3.  You have no business thinking about 50 of them.

Why ? Why dont cant i have 50 miner apartment ?

the heat would kill you, i'm serious here

50 s3 produce like 340watt each x50, is 17kw in an apartment, this is crazy, not to mention that i doubt an apartment has 17kw available, usually they can reach 6kw at best

Than where put miners ?/((

Maximum use kw how many is in apartment ?
I guarantee you do not have 17kW of available power.  The vast majority of us have been exceptionally patient with you and yet you continue to ask the same questions over and over again without bothering to pay attention to the answers you've been given.

Im Talking about other side  THE LUCK
There is no secret to luck. You are gambling and there is no way to make luck. You are only lucky or unlucky after the fact.

Ck I am not sure if PrivacyBTC understands the concepts of solo mining.
Yes I understand but I'm trying to be blunt about the luck fact and not give people any illusions about what it means to mine solo. i.e. it's somewhere between lottery and gambling depending on how much you pour into it.

CK You are Right , YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOW THE FACT

But plz just a fair answer

joining the 10 solo pools have greater and big chance to win rather than full power in 1 pool .

plz answer with correct or false

Thanks
Assuming that all 10 pools are equally well written and providing work for you to hash, it doesn't matter.  What matters is the total hash rate you throw at it... be it 1PH/s in 1 pool or 100TH/s in 10 pools.

Are you sure you've got the right wallet address?  Post some transaction IDs and sign a message with the receiving wallet so we can give you some more help.

2211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to check whether I have received any bitcoin from an address ever before on: May 02, 2015, 05:23:01 PM
My friend sent me some bitcoins "he says so"

But I want to confirm whether He has ever send any amount to my address ever and if he did

Then how many times and when and list of all the transactions.

Is there any way I can know this?
The best way is for your friend "who says so" to provide you with the transaction ID(s) for the coins he sent.  If you have that, you have proof.
2212  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help (again) on: May 02, 2015, 05:11:42 PM
Okay, so I need help, I can't find the password for my worker. I mine in slush's pool, and I mine with GUIminer. Even if I use my account password it says that my worker is offline.
As was asked of you in the previous thread... what gear are you using?  Are you trying to mine BTC with just your laptop/desktop CPU/GPU?  If yes, just stop.  You will make nothing.  You won't even make the pool's minimum withdrawal after months of mining.
2213  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can't Setup Antminer S3+ on: May 02, 2015, 02:28:08 PM
I've got a Desktop plugged into a Router using an Ethernet Cable. There's my Laptop (which is what I'm on) connected wireless to the Router. I want to use the Laptop for mining because the Desktop only has 1 Ethernet Input and I need that for Internet. There's also another Laptop (all 3 sharing the Router.) Also, the Router has a built in Modem.
OK... firstly, you don't need either your desktop or your laptop for mining.  The S3+ takes care of it all for you.  The only time you'll need either the desktop or laptop is when you are looking at the web interface to do things like make configuration changes.  You won't plug your miner into either your desktop or your laptop, but rather your router/modem.

So... does your router/modem have multiple network cable ports in it?  I know you say you plug your desktop directly into it and use your laptop and other gadgets wirelessly.  Have you tried directly connecting your S3+ to the router if it does?
2214  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 41 blocks solved! on: May 01, 2015, 11:13:51 PM
Has anyone hit renting with nice or west hash?  I have spent quit a bit of coin attempting it.  not 40 or 50 maybe 10 btc

Curious to know how many of the  41 blocks have been hit by nice-west hash rentals.

For instance  727miner used MRR

I threw 3 BTC over the past 2 weeks on and off from westhash about 0.0097avg, no wins.

Does anyone have a calculation how many TH should one rent for a day to have an equal chance (50%/50%) hitting or not hitting a block?
Easy... To have a 50% chance of hitting a block in a day means you would want enough hash to expect to find a block in 2 days...
Code:
47610564513 * 2^32 / 172800 = hash rate = 1.1833669995801 PH/s
So you'd need to rent just about 1.2PH to have a 50% expected chance of hitting a block in a day.
2215  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can't Setup Antminer S3+ on: May 01, 2015, 11:03:53 PM
Ok, my IP starts with 68....What should I do?
That's likely your public IP... Let's ask a more basic question... What is your internet setup?  For example do you plug your computer directly into the modem or do you have wireless and a bunch of things sharing a single connection (phone, tablet, etc)
2216  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Question About S3+ Miners. on: May 01, 2015, 09:29:30 PM
You need some kind of active airflow to remove the heat.  Besides, that little fan is not what is costing you the electricity... that would be those power-hungry ASICs Smiley
2217  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can't Setup Antminer S3+ on: May 01, 2015, 09:27:25 PM
Basically I'm asking you what the IP address of your computer is.  If it starts with anything other than 192.168.1... then you won't be able to see the S3+ because by default the Antminers use the 192.168.1.* range.

If you have an IP address that starts with 192.168.1... then you could try logging into your router to see what the IP addresses of all the devices on your network are and try to identify the Antminer that way.
2218  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NastyPoP vs Standard P2Pool on: May 01, 2015, 09:13:49 PM
Another week and p2pool's luck was not so good at just under 60%.  Only 3 blocks were found and as a result both NastyPoP and NastyP2P were below expected values.  Here are the numbers:

4/24 - 5/1
NastyPoP - 0.02111442BTC
NastyP2P - 0.02415729BTC
Expected - 0.0325BTC
Luck - 59.99%

I've got a question regarding pointing my own gear here.  I have 6 S3s that are updated with the latest firmware and xnsub patched cgminer binaries.  My primary pool is MRR, secondary is mintsy.co.  On MRR, I have configured my miners to point to mintsy.co when they are not rented.

They absolutely refuse to connect and hash here when they are not rented on MRR.  However, if I just set them to mine here directly (by changing up the pool config in the S3 configuration), they work fine.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

S3 -> MRR -> mintsy = fail
S3 -> mintsy = success

Do I need to I cannot put the #xnsub in the URL in my MRR pool config like this:

I've got it directly in the S3 config...

Maybe that's what I'm missing?  Unfortunately I can't test yet because my gear is currently rented on MRR...

By the way, the 3 month SHA256 contract I purchased is doing just fine... makes me keep my eyes on the alt coins... maybe I'll spread some of it to the other coins and see if I can get some good trade prices on cryptsy...

EDIT: MRR does not allow you to put the #xnsub in the pool config... it throws an error when you try to save the pool configuration

  Speed TH/s 0.6519   Current diff 4.0000

This pools is setting 651.9Ghs to diff 4?  I find that hard to believe.
I think that's the problem from the nice/westhash side... it would appear that they are somehow keeping an authorized open connection with the pool, and vardiff is continuously lowering until it hits 4... then when the hash rate climbs, nice/westhash determines that the difficulty of 4 is too low for the hash rate and disconnects.

I know for a fact that ckpool properly addresses difficulty.  I've got 5 U2 sticks solo mining here and they get a difficulty of 7, so 651GH/s would definitely not see a diff of 4.

It's an issue on the nice/westhash side.

By the same token it wouldn't bother me if my Block Erupters got set to diff 128 or even higher.  But then someone would have a problem with that too, I'm sure.
I'm right there with you.  I wouldn't care if the minimum diff was 128 or 512 or whatever.  None of it means squat anyway on this pool.
