2202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are we expecting from now until Bitcoin halving? on: May 18, 2023, 02:13:08 PM
I am counting down the months now looking forward to my first bull run next year and curious.

Are we expecting any more major crashes or should the markets start steadily rising in a few months or so or will that not happen till the end of 2023?

It's possible that we can see more downturns in the Bitcoin price before the next year's halving. judging by price movement before the last halving took place in 2021, the bull market did not just come immediately after the last halving, so definitely it might still take the same dimensions this time around. Since a lot of Bitcoiners are putting much hope on the next halving, let's not forget that even when the price drops, it's really creating an opportunity to accumulate more, but some people always see it as a disadvantage to their investment already. DCA is really a good strategy I have used to accumulate Bitcoin, and I hope I can have at least a handful of Bitcoin before the next halving, so that if there is a tempting price to sell when the bull market comes, I can just sell off a bit of my Bitcoin holding.
Atleast you actually have an idea to sell some of your coins, with what have I seen so far from replies of most users here in the forum so people tend to actually hold their coins till infinity and its really awkward because we actually invest to get profits so we can use this profits but some folks just have this notion that touching your investment is actually a crime and a bitcoin investment is meant for just holding till God knows when. About the halving I am to stay optimistic about this because with my learning since I have been hear I have notice that the bull run after the halving is just a mere speculation and no one actually knows for sure if the price is going to have a price hike.
2203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 18, 2023, 01:58:48 PM
Maybe that's why Pep Guardiola planned everything around the second leg match. Manchester City could not stand in front of Real Madrid in today's match. I never thought I would see Real Madrid lose so haplessly. When Real Madrid went two goals down I was expecting Real Madrid to come back in the second half anyway but I was completely wrong.
Instead of conceding a goal in the second half, Real Madrid conceded two more goals, with the third goal coming from a complete defensive failure by Militão. When Manchester City went 3-0 up, I was confirmed that Real Madrid would not be able to come back in this match.

Álvarez scored in the last minute against Real Madrid to seal the team's 4–0 victory. Congratulations Manchester City we may see this season's UCL trophy at home in Manchester.
I am quite happy with the victory won by Manchester City in that match. But 4-0 still feels like a dream to me. Because how can Real Madrid not seem to have a solid defense as usual. Real Madrid's midfield also made many mistakes in this match. For the attack line, I can't blame them because in this match Manchester City successfully continued to press throughout the game. and left no room for Real Madrid's forwards to attack.

Pep Guardiola made an extraordinary strategy and formation in this match. Manchester City really played comfortably throughout the game. And Manchester City must be satisfied with this result. Because they harbored resentment from last season's failure in the semi-finals. and finally they can make up for the defeat in the last season with a better win this season.

The fact that Manchester City is about to win three trophies is just annoying, but since Madrid already lost to Manchester City yesterday, Madrid could not score even a single goal and were trying to play a defensive game but it could not hold Manchester city, I'm not even sure if I should be happy or not. Even though Benzema was still playing, the attacks were simply too much for Real Madrid. Gadiola is a brilliant coach that consistently provides effective solutions to execute. Manchester City is having one of their best seasons ever, they are in top form and unbeatable. Even if i don't support them, they are still the best.
I feel your pains bro, but its their time to shine so instead of feeling bad about their victory, I intend to use this their brilliant form to my own advantage as I have confidence of their victory in all their remaining matches of the league. For their is no matchday that will pass that I don't actually play Manchester city to be victorious although their odd is quite small but I make sure for where I lack in odd I make balance with the funds I use to stake the match and so far it has been working very fine for me.
2204  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: May 18, 2023, 01:43:26 PM
People stay poor because lack of financial knowledge, no school, collage an any other education institution teach about financial knowledge this is also one of the reason why people stay poor. Apart from this, when poor mindset people gets money, they never use it for investment to generate more money from there. In same time some people born poor but with their right knowledge and hard work they become success in their life and become rich. Born being poor but with their determination and hard work never let them end up being poor.

I have come to realize that poverty is as a result of ones reasoning and ability to engage in meaningful activities that would help them grow.
Another factor I put into consideration is ones circle. If you are always in a circle of lousy people who think not of what they could do to generate more funds or being productive, you will remain like them because they would always drag you down to their level so the best thing is to always stay in circle higher than you if you must grow and be productive.

I really do not think education is a barrier to being wealthy and rich. I know people in my country that are very successful business men and women. They weren't educated as we thought but because of their drive to succeed, they were able to stand and be useful to themselves and the world.
I totally support this notion, because the choice of being poor is somehow in the hands of the actually person because poverty is something that is fixiated in anymore life but I do agree that some folks are born poor  but its actually a bigger when you have chosen to remain like that because the power of you remaining poor lies with you and yes bad company always contributes to static growth which is not advisable if anyone actually wants to grow in life.
2205  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: May 18, 2023, 12:50:35 PM
Judging by the history of messages, this is a girl from Nigeria who really wants to become a full member, but I could not find a single meaningful message that somehow correlates with bitcoin to give her a couple of merits. Maybe I didn't try hard enough and her determination should be rewarded.

Are you sure that's a girl though? I bet you would not make such effort if that member's name was SexyMike2813  Grin

rule number 1 - there are no women on crypto forums. Everyone's a man until proven otherwise.
Grin funny but when you come to think of it, its actually true. Just take the case of the bitcointalk community award that took place last year when the particular award for miss bitcointalk on the forum was almost given to bitcoingirl.club as per vote received but the fella wasn't even a lady. Lol , he had to clear the air on his gender type before most members here actually got his right gender so I can relate to why you are everyone is actually a male until proven otherwise.
2206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2.4% People from Bangladesh Hold Cryptocurrency on: May 18, 2023, 12:28:31 PM
That was my surprise when I last time read this. This was a few months back when I read in one of the local newspapers where they mentioned around 4 million Bangladeshi people use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I didn't believe in that stats but today once again I found the same stats on another website namely Triple A, I have no idea about them. According to them, 2.4% of people are holding cryptocurrency in Bangladesh which I think is impressive. No matter whether most of them have invested just because they are greedy. Still, it's a piece of great news in my opinion. Bangladesh is one the countries where using Bitcoin is declared illegal by the government. But this number/stats say something we are going to get in the very near future. There was a discussion regarding cryptocurrency between some employees from Bangladesh Bank. They were hinting Bangladesh may legalize Crypto within 2/3 years. Maybe finally, it's happening.
Well its no suprise to me seeing that people in Bangladesh are continually using bitcoin despite its ban and restrictions in the nation, I that this is exactly the same feat that is occurring in my own nation NIGERIA, she is one of the most populous countries in world and the most in Africa I guess and it strength for the use of bitcoin has grown so fast and rapidly that bitcoin ATM are being install in some private business in some of the cities where its consumption is at its peak and despite this massive adoption and consumption of bitcoin, it is still declared illegal to transact bitcoin directly with your fiat bank but with all this recent development the government are seeing to it that they have a different perspective and are looking for way to actually understand the technology that behind bitcoin and crypto at large.

2208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 17, 2023, 05:28:39 PM
Stay optimistic, mate. I still hope that Real Madrid can beat Manchester City perfectly. Even though we know that Manchester City are favored when playing at home, there are several factors that we might be able to take advantage of.

Real Madrid knew they had to take advantage at the Bernabéu because the City's stadium is not easy for them, it doesn't suit their style. Now, Manchester City has been spectacular at their home stadium, overwhelming all their opponents, so I don't see why they couldn't achieve a favorable result against Real Madrid. It's not impossible. Manchester City 3 and Real Madrid 1, goals by Haaland, De Bruyne, and Benzema.
Its an open prediction so everyone is allowed to pour out their thought but one thing seems to be certain in everyone prediction is the fact that there is certainly going to a lot of goals in this particular game and this game will be played at a very high tempo because both teams are not known for withholding back and defending and with the current situation of the game at hand the both teams all need a victory to qualify so everyone should expect a very high entertaining match tonight and I have stake my cash on REAL MADRID to become victorious despite their odds I have faith in them to deliver and qualify for the finals.
2209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You are still very early on: May 17, 2023, 05:21:57 PM
For the long term, yes. I've been obtaining some altcoins to build up profits for my bitcoin investment. Since its multiplier is considerably better than bitcoin, it's not terrible to dabble with some alternative currencies. That's what I do. Even if someone were to advise me to avoid alts, I couldn't be convinced to concentrate just on bitcoin as I am aware of how much easier it is to make gains on alts than on bitcoin. I'm not a whale, therefore I'll merely find a means to increase my meager funds before concentrating on an expensive bitcoin.

In Bitcoin, you don't need to invest $20k at once; you can gradually accumulate your bitcoin, depending on how much you are earning and how much you are willing to invest. Even if you decide to invest $20 or less in Bitcoin every month, in two or three years, you will have a lot of Bitcoin in your portfolio and you would make profit from it (Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme). There are a lot of scam projects; some will only turn out to be shitcoins in the long run, while some might also do well to an extent, but so long as you know the risk you are taking by involving yourself with altcoins, good luck with that. Although some people may have made some profit with altcoins, it's referred to as gambling because you are not very sure if it's a project that was only launched to steal the money invested by the public. Some project may not meet their target, and from there, they will just run from their responsibility.
If you want any progress with investing in bitcoin you will just have to know the bitter truth that you must and I repeat "must be patient", the reason why people swoop all of a sudden to different altcoins is because of the rapid pumping of these coins where as bitcoin you have to invest and wait patiently till the market looks friendly enough to sell and this can take a really long time but with altcoin you can get that extra profits very quickly but there is a hard truth attached to this sudden price rise too as the same  rate at which it rises that's the same way it dump back and most times these altcoins drop so badly that you get to lose everything on your investment even the capital cash where as bitcoin nothing of such ever happens although the market turns bad sometimes but there is always a certainty of  rise again, so its better to go for a reliable investment than a quick and deadly one.
2210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The World's First Kids Cartoon about Bitcoin on: May 17, 2023, 05:11:22 PM
If this cartoon had appeared at least a couple of years earlier, then now the BTC-community would be even larger. No, not thanks to the children. Smiley But because it would make it easier for more people to understand the basics of bitcoin. I want to say that The World's First Kids Cartoon about Bitcoin will be useful for understanding about bitcoin not only for children, but also for adults. Simple and accessible/understandable language of narration is exactly what is needed. Most people will be too lazy to read a whitepaper, but watching a cartoon will interest more people.

And in general, this cartoon will allow to prepare bitcoiners from an early age. I approve. Smiley
I certainly agree with you, I mean this would have changed a lot of people's perspective towards bitcoin. The cartoon is entertaining and its makes the whole details about bitcoin a lot easier to access, it would have certainly been more welcomed than having a newbie who is lazy in reading read the whole white paper of bitcoin. This is a big improvement towards the spread and acceptance of bitcoin in the society and I would definitely show it to my kids so as they will the basic knowledge about hard money that is easy to use  Grin
2211  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Addiction. on: May 17, 2023, 03:33:27 PM
This discussion is not about gambling, it is about investing, but I will use gamblers to make an example.

Using gamblers as an example who start out with just the intention to have fun maybe and then along the line turn into addicted gamblers that gambling begin to affect other areas of their life like their wellbeing like they stop spending on some important things just so they can make money available for gambling. Now talking about investing, I think it is possible to become addicted to investing so much that it begins to affect your wellbeing, like the person stops spending on other important things like good food, good clothes etc. just so they can have more money to invest? Do you consider that kind of addiction dangerous and not good?
Yeah I think in some way its very possible to be affected by too much investment as this act can make you very stingy on yourself and others just because you are trying to invest more and it can affect your social life too because this kind of addiction comes with another companion together which is that feeling of spending too much money so instead of getting yourself a outfit ,one will split the money for the clothes and invest the other part because his addicted to the act which better than gambling because you can use the money for something else that is tangible when the investment actually reaches the limit on it.

Well its not bad to double your capital  through altcoins and I can presume that the advises that are given is to clear you on the dangers that are involved when investing on altcoins, well I guess some altcoins are good when it comes to how fast they pump up but the whole issue is finding the right alt because the same way these altcoins pump thats the same way they dump back and if you are not careful you could lose a lot especially when you have put in a lot to gather profits you can use in buying bitcoin but I would advice you to stay with BTC and you can use DCA strategy to build up some momentum in your capital investment.
2213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 16, 2023, 07:06:57 PM
Inter, who won the match a week ago, will be the more comfortable team at home.Milan has come this far well and has been paired with their league rival Inter in the semifinals. We can say that both teams played well in the first match, but Inter, who scored 2 goals in the first 10 minutes, won the match. The goal in the early minutes will have demoralized Milan, as there were no goals in the match after that.Today Inter hosts Milan.Milan has a chance to go through, but it is not easy.I don't expect Inter to be defeated and I think they will pass the round.
I just don't want the match  to be boring and would really love to see a tantalizing atmosphere in this game and would love  to see some magic happen because it can take only magic for ac Milan to actually find a way to knock out inter Milan in this competition. The game is a big derby between the two teams and with the first  leg already in favor of inter Milan and with them currently hosting the second leg only a champions league miracle can aid ac Milan to victory.
2214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: May 16, 2023, 06:45:59 PM
It does seem crazy, to end your life because of gambling. If you are already addicted to gambling it has become a dangerous tendency. not doing gambling for a second will bother them. there are many bad effects of gambling addiction, but the most fatal impact is when you decide to commit suicide because you don't have the money to do gambling. this has become an acute addiction. It takes a lot of support from the closest people so that the addiction that is already heavy does not lead to ending life or action.
Any addiction will eventually drive a person into a corner from which it may seem impossible to escape, this is why there are some people that take the most irreversible decision that a human being can take, which is to end their own lives, however there is always a solution to the problems people have created for themselves due to their gambling addiction, it is just there is no way to solve them quickly, as those which are addicted spend years or even decades in that condition and they cannot hope that everything is going to fix itself overnight.
Addiction is a very dangerous act that can destroy ones life as I can testify to this because it nearly destroyed my own life , I started gambling at a very tender age and it sinked into my blood when I was in secondary school and even during my stay in the tertiary institution. I often gamble away my school fees and it was like a poison that was rapidly running in my veins until this habit was getting out of hand and I had to take a very difficult decision which involved me disconnecting myself with every thing that has to do with gambling and I didn't do this on my own as I was aided with multiple counselling sessions and all this was what contributed to my successful retreat from this dangerous act although some times I do predict but now its different as I do it only for fun and no strings attached.
2215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 16, 2023, 06:34:42 PM
By winning this match, Liverpool are only 1 point behind Newcastle and Manchester United.
Yeah, and it is going to be a nervy end of the season for both Newcastle and Manchester United fans, but i don't think Liverpool are going to break into the top four even though they are just one point behind, the thing is, they have played one game more than both United and Liverpool, thus i cannot see it happening. Having said that, from a Liverpool point of view, all they have to do is win their remaining two games and see what happens, it is not in their hands, so they can only hope other teams do them a favor, anyway what i think they'll eventually get is a Europa League spot.
Well I won't be a supporter of any side but I bet it would be nice to see a new line up of teams in the champions league, I would really love to see Newcastle compete with other big clubs of Europe although since its been long they compete I bet there are going to have nervy start to their champions league campaign. Liverpool on the other hand will definitely win their remaining games but its still going to boil down to either Manchester united or Newcastle dropping some points for them to qualify.
2216  Economy / Services / Re: Utopia P2P Ecosystem 💎 | Review Campaign 🔎| Participate Now! | Get paid in BTC on: May 16, 2023, 06:45:06 AM
This is My Honest Review on Utopia Ecosystem.

The software is light and easy to navigate whenever is connected to the internet. You can do some minor work and view some features without connecting to the internet. One thing in this digital marketing system is the lightness of the company site.

The Themes
The best background theme is the dark colour because of eye contact. The dark colour also make the screen looks nice with good look.

The main features of the Utopia Ecosystem.

I just decided to list the ones I know and they are:
. UMessage
. Umail
. Uchannels
. UWallet

My main concern is on the first three. And the above first three communicational means work for the same purpose. Like UMessage and Umail work the same. So one would been okay.

UWallet:
The transaction within the app with the $5 CRP was smoothly without any obstruction. But Utopia would have made a way to convert the $5 CRP to a Fiat currency to test the token. So that the token will be useful in the blockchain.

Crypto Card
The provision of the crypto card is very good and it makes things easy for transacting of coins without the public key. Since Utopia is new to the Ecosystem, the card issueing fee should be removed to attract more customers to the site because not everyone especially those who visit the site on their own might not have the token to get the card.

The Peer to peer
While opening and trying out the software, I noticed that the platform peer to peer {p2p} network is limited as I was unable to use this service and this is bad for business because this is an  essential part of growing the platform. Therefore, I advise the company to make the p2p service 24 hours active like other platforms.
conclusion
In conclusion utopia makes things easy for it users by creating channels to communicate and easily making p2p transaction with sending and receiving from one another. The decentralized nature of the Ecosystem is very good as well because everyone do their transactions with encrypted messages. The Mining bot should be visible for those who are interested to mine through the Utopia Ecosystem. And finally from the easy and smoothly use of the Utopia software, the security of the users in the system is guaranteed. Utopia is an internet friendly that works with even a slow network. it doesn't look like other platforms that work with strong network, so I gave a plus to them in that.
2217  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Paxful Don Come Back Again on: May 15, 2023, 06:00:30 PM
I never use Paxful before even the time way them dey popular, now the exchange don too get issues e go hard for customers to trust them again. Maybe if them do better PR, newbies way never too get bad experience for the industry go use their service but as for me and my household, I no go risk my money for any platform way don get comma before.
Me self I Neva actually use their platform before but one of friend tell me some of the experience he had when trying to send coins from paxful to somebody as he  claims that the fee rate is fcking outrageous although I cant attesify to this but this feedback nai discourage me from ever wanting to use their platform plus the fact say dem con shutdown join.
2218  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Which Cex is the Best centralized exchange with the lowest fee on: May 15, 2023, 05:39:21 PM
For no-KYC centralized exchanges: Kucoin. For KYC centralized exchanges: Bybit. Other suggestions: Binance (KYC), Huobi (no KYC), MEXC Global (no-KYC), OKX (no-KYC).

To exchange bitcoin or any other crypto to naira, all the exchanges require KYC.

For no fee trading, use convert if available.

Altcoins fee are low on almost all exchanges, except for ether and ERC20 tokens. For bitcoin withdrawal, OKX has lower fee, but still high as those exchanges charge too much fee than needed.
Thanks for update , I never knew kucoins is kyc free as I have been some issues verifying my binance account due to the fact that my bvn has already been used for linking with another binance account but now that I know this, I think I will try out this kucoins exchange although am not convinced that any exchange will have good market price rate for peer to peer transaction like that of the binance app because with all exchanges I have compared with binance so far, it is far still better when it comes to price difference.
2219  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you should use spare money to invest on: May 15, 2023, 05:25:15 PM

Is better to use small money or learn risk management first before investing especially newbies.
when someone decides to put their money in an investment, they must already be aware that they are taking the risk of losing. beginners still have to learn how they put their money into the right assets. it will help beginners not to panic too much about the investments made.
beginners are better off focusing on one asset first, like Bitcoin, and not trying to put their money in shit tokens.
I don't know but nobody is talking about the greed effect and to put you more in line, this logic or fact of knowing the right place to invest doesn't only applies to beginners as everyone can make wrong choices of investment prior to the greed effect that is seen in almost all humans. Most times the reason for people investing in these shitcoins as you called is because of the nature of how fast they can possibly make good profits in some time from these coins and most times no proper research is done as they are currently blinded by the money they can make from this coins and when this turns sideways all assets are lost to these type of investment because the shitcoins are never to be trusted as they can pump up rapidly and also die off extremely fast.
2220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 15, 2023, 05:12:35 PM
The bookies seem quite confident that Manchester City will qualify for the final and also that they will win the title. If they win the final, they are indeed a heavy favorite against probably Inter Milan. But Inter Milan, where should we put them at the moment? They are in a good flow and have played the entire Italian top in the last games of the field. I would rather see a final between Real Madrid and Inter Milan, but I really wish Guardiola his first title with City. Many football experts say that City - Madrid is a 50-50 match.
Most of the time Bookies hype things for their own sack so in this case also happen with as most of the pundits are still feeling both teams having equal chance for the qualifying into final bookies are trying to cover their loses as well because right now as Manchester City is performing most chances they will win and also have title into their pocket as well with double is surely going to be amazing for the Guardiola and his team.

But, Real Madrid is also having history of unpredictable results as many times they shattered hearts of many peoples for their own wins so can they do this again it's big question mark right now but most chances we will have Manchester City vs Inter into final for this season.
Bookies have their own reasons when they put Manchester City as the favorite even in gadang gadang will win the Champions League this season, that is in line with their good performances so far and also they will play a match where they will get full support from the supporters who come to support them. In fact, Real Madrid has always been unfavorable when meeting strong clubs like Manchester City. Let's take the example of last season, round after round they went through without favorite status, in other words the opponents they faced were more favourites. But by being sure they can answer all the doubts directed at them.
One reason again that is added to why the bookmakers have given Manchester city a bigger odd to winning is that they are playing at home although it's quite clear even from the both teams performance that Manchester city has greater chances of winning but for some reasons everyone in the football world still doubt the possibility of this feat happening because this real Madrid side are just found of always wanting to play the final matches and Manchester city is well aware of that.
If no miracle happens with Real Madrid then I think that Real Madrid has no hope of securing victory in the semi finals. Because Manchester City will never perform poorly at home and this is the semi-final of the Champions League. In addition, Manchester City showed a great performance in Real Madrid's field. All things considered, Manchester City's chances of securing victory are high.
"If no miracle happens", then I guess you are not aware of the fact that this real Madrid side are very good miracle performers because that's exactly what they had been doing and has done since the beginning of the champions league, I mean, you can take for example their last season miracle in which they played almost all the toughest opponent in the champions league and they knocked them all out even being graded the least in those clashes and I think they can still well perform this miracle again.
