This is a bit like how the Nazis continued fighting well after it was obvious that the war was lost. They just couldn't bring themselves to admit that it was all for nothing. I know. I was going to pick a different example, but then I thought fuck it, let's Godwin this bitch. It's a thread started by Adam, so it had to start descending at some point

It would bring difficulty down enough home miners would be able to pull their old miners out from the garage and make some btc again. Difficulty simply cannot drop enough for those inefficient relics to be pulled from the garage. Lower prices would increase the pressure on hashes per joule, not decrease it.

I remember Dorian Nakamoto story, I dismissed him as a Satoshi candidate at once. This time, I feel, is different.
Can't argue with truthiness.

the most strange is that ppl like Matonis, or Gavin not only trust this scammer but they are and openly supporters We are in a crazy world with too many fool ppl around us This is a bit like how the Nazis continued fighting well after it was obvious that the war was lost. They just couldn't bring themselves to admit that it was all for nothing.

In light of the recent revelations by Ian Grigg ( http://financialcryptography.com/mt/archives/001593.html) I'm now considering it a possibilty that "Satoshi Nakamoto" was indeed a team of individuals where Craig Wright played a crucial part. (If that turns out true I will apologize profusely to Gwern!) If so, then Wright's bizarre play of both presenting himself as Satoshi and at the same time pulling out the rug under such claims might be a part of some elaborate cloak and daggers game. What direct knowledge does he have? He wasn't even part of the team he describes. And all this "I confirm" means nothing. Hey, I confirm that Newt Gingrich is Satoshi. Let's see some actual proof. All these arguments from authority or appeals to emotion don't mean jack.

I don't moderate it.
When a message is deleted, it should say which mod actioned it. For a recent deletion, I know that it isn't Blitz, who is the mod for that forum, so it could be any of the supermods or admins. Therefore, to whom does one direct the issue?

Craig Wright says he will move a coin from an early block in the next few days. The BBC says "that should convince many of the doubters". I say he should sign a message with both his PGP key and a Satoshi Bitcoin, and move some early coins (to my Bitcoin address). That would convince me. You can give my senior butt 1 shiny bitcoin if he does it, but I'm too poor to return the favour if he doesn't. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-36193006The man who has identified himself as the creator of Bitcoin plans to provide further proof to his claim.
Craig Wright's spokesman told the BBC that he would "move a coin from an early block" belonging to the crypto-currency's inventor "in the coming days".
*snip*
This morning, I have managed to reach Jon Matonis, who is at a cryptocurrency event in Kenya. He remains absolutely convinced by Craig Wright but agrees that the blog hasn't helped his case.
"It needs to be amended because it's not conclusive for the general public. But that does not take away from what I saw in private," he explained.
As far as I can see it, if Dr Wright can move one of Satoshi's bitcoins - as promised - that should convince many of the doubters.
It would constitute proof that he is who he says he is - although one suspects that even then some will never believe his story. Yeah, what's the likelihood that he moves some early coins not mined definitively by Satoshi? And didn't he state previously that he couldn't move any coins because he had them tied up till 2020 in his trust fund? But I guess the two previous fraudulent proofs were mere accident, and this time we'll see genuine evidence. I can also sell anyone who believes this a perpetual-motion machine.

wright is NOT satoshi...100% bullshit, if im wrong ill dump all my BTC forever quoted for evidence double quoted , lol what do u think...wright is satoshi? lol yes * yefi puts on his gorilla suit If he publicly and verifiably signs a message from the genesis block, I'll give your newbie butt 1 shiny bitcoin. Quote it.

I think only Barbara Woodhouse had the chops for this type of thing and she's now no longer with us.
"Choke chain is a misnomer, they are always breathing." This James Randi, isn't he a typical Canadian drunk that snuck into our country? The sort of parasitic filth President Trump is gonna send back to that God-forsaken frozen wilderness from whence it came?
I bet that timberland savage don't even have no master's, no wonder he hates smart people so much.
Sure, the first time he was put on stage, he took an axe to it thinking it was firewood, but he's progressed magnificently since. Soon he may not even use a moose for transport.

There's nothing ireffutable yet. And who in the BBC is going to have much of a clue as to what it takes to prove it?
Graham Norton?

So now Dr. Wright is a magician That's some serious trust issues you got there. look, if Dr. Wright pulled the wool over the eyes of both Dr. Gavin Andresen, Chief Scientist of the Bitcoin Foundation AND to Mr. Jon Matonis, @jonmatonis, Founding Director at Bitcoin Foundation, CEO of Hushmail, Columnist at Forbes, Chief Forex Dealer at VISA, Economist, but you insist that you won't be fooled? Oh, that's rich. You're a real sucker for titles, aren't you? Anyway, as James Randi said, some of these PhD types are the worst ones for being fooled because they think their credentials make them impervious to falsehood.

No offense intended, but Gavin is a fool. He should to go Vegas and watch Penn & Teller shoot a bullet from a gun and catch it in his teeth. I'll let you in on a secret. It's a trick. Craig fooled Gavin.
If it's not publically verifiable, it's a trick.
Yep, spot on. Quite amazing to see an intelligent man be so gormless, though I do wonder if a Mephistophelian pact hasn't been agreed upon here and the spurious Satoshi will now support all of Gavin's proposals...

Hard to decide to believe it or not,but actually i love europan people, wondering why craig use japan name for the alias. Craig can proven that he is bitcoin creator by sign message, and its good proof i think.
Apparently after Tominaga Nakamoto, a Japanese philosopher who questioned the authority of his time. Funnily, he now expects us to believe in authority for his verification...

you see, thats a perfect example of whats going on at the moment. the community is in full denial at the moment. people kind of glorified satoshi and everyone had his own version of Satoshi in their minds. now that we actually have him eventually "at hand" they refuse to accept reality and desperately try to cling to their dream version of Satoshi.
pretty tragic if you ask me.
This is not the twilight of the gods. This is Wright trying to deify himself with the help of a gullible (or deceitful) vicar.

Ha ha If anyone believes Craig is Satoshi, they really need a brain upgrade.
