I've always said buying and holding would be your best bet. I think Bitcoin rose by 7% recently so there's a bit of profit there. I'm sure we'll see hundreds of percent in profit eventually if we have the patience.

i agree. i have been stashing some coins for some time now. in the past month that the price was at a somewhat stable stage i tried to but at the bottoms and hold. i think the future price of bitcoin is looking good especially after the recent rise.

i would love to see bitcoin stable at 500 usd, it would actually save up more btc, i think the community deserves a 500 usd per btc.
why 500? can you explain why you chose this number

if it is just about price stability, i am right there with you. i would love to see an stable price someday that doesn't change a lot. and i don't care that much about what price it is, even if it stays at $200 forever i am happy as long as it is stable.

keep up the (not so) good work to promote NXT
if he posted that in 2014 why this has surfaced now. especially now that NXT seems to be pumped?

22043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does "Satoshi" remain anonymous? on: June 18, 2015, 04:48:48 AM
because of the amount of bitcoin he (she or them) has, he is going to be harassed day and night if he reveals his real identity.
22044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should all go see a movie with bitcoin!! on: June 18, 2015, 04:45:33 AM
this is a great news for bitcoin, sadly i am from us to buy movie tickets with bitcoin. i wish they start the same project here too, so i can buy tickets with my bitcoins.

i'm not into movie lately(they look all the same, same crappy acting every time), i would pay for watching a good anime instead, there is this option too? or it is just for movies?
if you are into movies and tired of same crap, you might find good ones that you might have missed here https://www.reddit.com/r/MovieSuggestions/
i say this because i feel the same recently and found some good stuff there.
22045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: should i move my ''saving'' to Bitcoin? on: June 18, 2015, 04:33:25 AM
i have about 1200 Dollar in stocks(savings). should i just move those Money and buy BTC for them instead ? and Hodl for atleast 5 years ?

this is what i am doing:
i have majority of my money in savings account in the bank. and add to it ~ once a month.
the rest is divided into two things at the moment:
one of them is gold, since it is a solid investment with 0 chance of loss in long run
the other part is bitcoin, which i always try to add to it either from buying it at low prices or signature campaign payment or my altcoin trading profits. and i am planning on holding long term.

also i must mention that investment plans differ from country to country and it depends on where you live and more importantly how much you have. for example in my country stock market is terrible right now.
22046  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: June 18, 2015, 04:26:35 AM
outsource girls use bitcoin too. just take a look at the bitcoin discussion section, and look at topics on sex and bitcoin Wink there are a lot of girls accepting bitcoin as payment for showing you stuff.

also it is worth mentioning that there is a sub-reddit of the whole lot of girls accepting bitcoin as payment in r/girlsgonebitcoin   [NSFW]

22048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: June 17, 2015, 04:25:37 PM
Saw this on r/Buttcoin: "I convinced. A friend to buy in at 1200.... he bpught in big. We arent friends anymore." (link)

Financial advise can be risky - beware of "convincing" people, friends or family about their investments!
a lot of people was thinking the same thing back then. and many people bought at $1200 and though that the price is going up to $10000 and they are going to be rich over night.
i say that is his friends fault, he got what he deserved. that is the result of being greedy and jumping in something without any prior knowledge.
22049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get Dope for Bitcoin All Around The US on: June 17, 2015, 04:14:35 PM
from what i read i found out that the story of the movie is about a tech geek named Malcolm who discovers his true self in Los Angeles, when he finds bitcoin, an anonymous alternative for purchasing drugs.

so in fact they are encouraging us to buy tickets for the movie that only shows the negative side of bitcoin, with bitcoin.

and apart from that Alex Winter, the director of the documentary “Deep Web,” commented on the digital currency being used to purchase illicit drugs as part of the plot of the movie. and claims that "There would have been no Bitcoin without the Silk Road."

well gambling will lead easy to a loss the most people try it and loose too much soo they make a new deposit trying to get all back

No one is that lucky to win everytime he gambles. We all know that Fortune Favors the Brave but not true when it comes to Gambling. You need to do a lot of research before Gambling on particular sport and it is just a waste of time.
gambling is completely luck related and no amount of research is going to do you any good. i mean it is good to inform yourself but there is not a magical strategy out there that you can find and start earning big and win afterwards.
you have to look at gambling as a game and use it for fun. then you will see that your winnings are more and better when you are playing for fun of it.
22051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: June 17, 2015, 02:14:13 AM
to people who say our friends didn't listen:
i think the way to introduce bitcoin to somebody is to show them how it works and get them started with some small initial amount of bitcoin.
what i did to hook my friends up with bitcoin was that i created a wallet for them on their mobile and sent them some bitcoin just to get them started. just enough to be able to buy something like a pizza is enough.
then you have to show them how and where they can spend these bitcoins.
then you have a friend hooked up...

i have problem logging in my account.
i keeps asking me to authenticate myself, i don't have 2fa or anything. i just created that account some time ago and only set a password.

Hey mate. What's your user name on the site?

i had an old account with the same username as my bitcointalk : "pooya87"
now it says :  "Provided password is incorrect."
it would be awesome if i could revive it, i don't see any reset password, or forgot password on the website.

also i have created another one last week with "pooya" and that one asks me for 2fa with this error:
"Please authenticate yourself"

Ok just had a chat with them mate. Your account there doesn't have 2fa active so maybe try to clear your cache and cookies and see if that works out? (for your latest one)
wow, that was sorted out so fast. thanks a lot
22053  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♛ CrimeDice.com ✣ Social Dice Platform ✣ All Countries ♛ BETA on: June 16, 2015, 01:43:47 PM
the websites looks much better that the first time it was released. well done OP.
but faucet despite what the OP says is paying 500 satoshi not 2000.
also i feel like the auto betting is a little slow.

i used the lite version and everything looked ok to me. except that after 100 bets i realized that my balance is stuck at 507, it goes down with bets but on winning it doesn't increase. so still there are some bugs.
22054  Economy / Gambling / Re: what way did you earn your by gambling 1st bitcoin! on: June 16, 2015, 01:30:38 PM
sine my gamblings so far was all over the place, i mean i gambled in a lot of gambling websites i can not tell for sure. besides i mostly play just for the fun of it.

but looking at some of my histories at DaDice and PD i can tell that i won ~0.2BTC so far.

22056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Ever Take Out a Loan in Bitcoin? on: June 16, 2015, 01:15:35 PM
it is hard to trust anybody anymore these days. i would never give anybody any loan without any collateral no matter how much good history they have got. especially on BTCjam, the trust service and any kind of verification that they have got, is not a 100% grantee that you dont lose money to a scammer.
with collateral at least you know that your money is safe.
I personally borrowed the money a couple of times at the other site. Small amounts. I did not know etih people but we talked a lot on the network and have a great rating. I was 100% sure that I give. I knew that they cherish his name and his nickname.
There are times when urgently needed money.
Yes, it is difficult to trust someone, but there are still honest people.
yeah, there is no doubt that there are still a lot of honest people everywhere. but the point is you can not tell, unless you personally know somebody.
just look at lending section of the forum. there are many newbie accounts that are asking for loans. who can tell if there is someone in the middle of them who is really honest and doesn't want to scam you.

besides i think if you want to lend/ load bitcoin you should make your contract in fiat not btc, since the price is so volatile and can rise and fall drastically that is a better choice.
22057  Other / Off-topic / Re: When and why did you start using Bitcoin? on: June 16, 2015, 01:05:49 PM
i started using bitcoin in 2014 about a year ago. it is around the same date i registered here.

but i have heard about bitcoin much longer before that. maybe around 2-3 years, around the time when everybody was doing solo mining and bitcoin price was skyrocketing through the roof.

the reason that i started using bitcoin was mostly because i liked the technology and idea behind it and also i find trading a great way to earn some extra money.
22058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is steady but many alts have had 2-5 fold gains in the past month... on: June 16, 2015, 12:46:20 PM
Zoom out on the vertcoin graph.  You'll see a lot more.

Vertcoin still up 10x from before pump and it'll likely rebound later.

their recent increase does not matter match, i remember when vertcoin was around 0.01, so the loss is way above the one of bitcoin

bitcoin has lost only 4/5, altcoin like vertcoin has lost 19/20

for a good comparison you should compare every coin to bitcoin since the biggest pump of 1200, not in any other way

Sure you could say that Vertcoin used to have higher highs but its still very significant to have so many gains.  There's been so much time for people to buy back in at the bottom, those people would have had immense gains.  It doesn't matter that it used to be at a higher ratio, just in the current time frame, people would have profited really well.

You could say the same thing with a pump to $300 not being very significant.  Even though we used to be at higher levels, going to $300 after a big lull in the $230's would be very significant.  Even though prices were higher before, it would result in substantial profits for people who bought in the mid 200's and also were using margin.

it's true, but i hate when people talk about a raise, after there was a dump, when the previous pump(before that dump), was much higher than the next pump, so one can not really talk about a raise in the end

for me the only good raise is the one that suprass the ath, all the others are only temporary recover
it is natural that people who had lost the opportunity to get on the pump train to the top, jump on that train after it started falling down. so they start buying which causes a rise back up and they call that another rise while everyone had cashed out and left the coin behind until next major pump.
22059  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best point in time to cash out the Bitcoins? on: June 16, 2015, 12:40:47 PM
Hello,
I am hodling Bitcoins since 2012, expecting them to go up in value.

What do you think is the best time to cash out? Is it now or will Bitcoin rise again to make more money??

Best wishes
Colonel Afurah,
Nigeria Army
i can not believe that this thread is posted here on 2015!! i thought somebody revived and old thread.
but clearly this is a troll attempt Cheesy since if somebody bought at $10 / btc and holded this long, he is either brain dead or lying.
22060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is in deep trouble. Litecoin to take its place soon. on: June 16, 2015, 12:34:18 PM
not sure about the dead of an altcoin(like litecoin or monero) if bitcoin fails, remember that they do not share the same network, why scrypt asic should stop mining if bitcoin fails?

a niche market will continue to grow on another alt bif bitcoin fails, so don't expect the end of crypto just because the king is down
i don't think dying of an altcoin due to (if) bitcoin fails is because of them not sharing the same network.
obviously they are being mines separately on a separate network, but if for some reason bitcoin fails, (which is not going to happen any time soon) i seriously doubt that people would choose another altcoin instead. they would simply give crypto up.
because what is the grantee that if something like bitcoin with that much support failed then some shitcoin like litecoin which was already dead can stay alive afterwards.
