22081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin vulnerable? on: June 11, 2015, 02:49:01 PM
No.

But here is some food for thought.

What if there was a global black out, some how... wouldn't bitcoin be vulnerable to someone with solar powered computer and internet access?- (an engineered global black out just in case you were going to say that there wouldn't be internet access"

this scenario looks science fictiony to me!

but in case that happens and somebody or some group of people that has access to power and mine all the blocks and get the rewards. i think two things can happen:
1) everyone, after knowing this, will dump their coins and bitcoin price will fall.
2) since the blocks witch was mined was by a single person or group, maybe there will be a way to ignore all those new blocks and pick up where we left off before the black out. Cheesy
22082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robbed of BTC at gunpoint -- a real concern? on: June 11, 2015, 02:44:30 PM
This is something I've been concerned about for a while now.  I just read about it happening for the first time recently.  If someone knows you have BTC, they can easily rob you of it at gunpoint.  I could see this happening a lot once the price goes nuts again.
I think not carrying a phone full of bitcoin goes along the same common sense line of not carrying a wallet full of cash.  I don't see how this is a story.  People get mugged all the time

I think he means that someone can break into your home and make you give him the bitcoins
if you read the article you can see what really happens.

the guy (victim) meets somebody unknown on the internet (craigslist) in order to sell his bitcoins in person to him. then they meet up.
then he (robber) lures him to a car when another guy shows up with gun and the two robbers steal the poor guys bitcoins.

as you see, i don't see any reason why someone can be worried about being robbed of bitcoin and not be worried of being robbed of his fiat in his back pocket!
22083  Economy / Economics / Re: What awaits Bitcoin in the future? (poll) on: June 11, 2015, 02:35:47 PM
option three! a little bit of both
i believe that bitcoin was a revolutionary technology that changed the financial world and it is going to be around for many years to come.
Bitcoin has great potentials. and as far as price goes, no one can tell. but i think it is going to grow. and surely it is going to have other bubbles too.
as long as it has some flaws it is not going to be as big as it can be.
22084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does Bitcoin mean to you (A poll) on: June 11, 2015, 02:29:49 PM
to be honest, for me, the most usage that i have got out of bitcoin is another way of earning money. from the first time i have been introduced to bitcoin i started earning it. i started tiny, from faucets to signature campaigns. now i am into trading and i am earning bigger.

..A way to save your extra money
meh, not that much.

..A get rich quick hope/prayer
nah, i mean i have been earning bitcoin by trading and all but never thought of getting rich quick by it!

..A way to leave the traditional banking system
yeah, a little

..An easier way to send money for less
yeah, sure

..What the fuck is a bitcoins?
what the f am i doing here if i don't know what bitcoin is ?!!

check this out:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=919430.msg10101533#msg10101533

but i think it is a terrible idea because humans will make mistakes in calculations all the time and it is a really long and time consuming activity while there are many other safe ways to create a secure address.
22086  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitco.in - is it even worth it? on: June 11, 2015, 03:02:47 AM
It is like gambling site and nothing more. You can win some BTC, but then you must gamble like in Dice sites  Wink

it's actually just a faucet. Gamble would involve a potential loss, but you can only gain. only dust, but still Cheesy

The gambling part of the faucet, is an OPTION. I repeat an option.

Why roll, when you can just add up on free rolls or just focus on the referral network lol.
because some people like me like to gamble dice and it is an awesome opportunity to do it with a faucet that pays a lot and you can gamble with that amount, and since it is not a lot of money and it is free you won't get sad when losing Cheesy
although i hope they improve their multiply section and add a better bot.
22087  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get free bitcoin? on: June 11, 2015, 02:56:17 AM
Hi, I am newbie here. I do not have enough $$$ to exchange bitcoins so how can I get free bitcoin?
use search and you will find hundreds of similar topic on the forum.
to sum up the ways:
1) offer your skills in change for bitcoin
2) trade
3) loan
4) signature campaign
5) gamble (not a good idea)
6) mine (not a good idea)
7) faucets (waste of time)

22088  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin wallet on: June 11, 2015, 02:49:17 AM
i use blockchain.info for online wallet, but most of my coins are in a cold electrum wallet.

i dont even have enough bitcoins to justify cold storage. Undecided working on it, trying to trade my way to a bigger stash. Cool

Honestly it does not have to be a huge amount to try it.  Even with small amount's it's good to test out cold storage.  Usb and paper wallets are pretty solid way's of storing your coin in cold storage.

And testing where you don't lose a ton if something goes wrong, is really a pretty smart idea.
but i think any bitcoin amount which is less than {lets say} 0.5BTC is not worth keeping in cold wallet. because IMO it is a lot of work to set it up and to use that amount if you want to spend it.
22089  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: June 11, 2015, 02:44:51 AM
Does anyone know a good way to advertise your faucet referral links. I havent been able to find any
the easiest way to advertise your referral links which is free is not post it on bitcoin related forums, and social networks. remember to read the rules first, because some forums like here don't allow referral links.

another way which is efficient but not free is to use a paid to click website. something like coinad or btcclick are good to consider.

another way that many people are doing these days is to create a faucet rotator and advertise that to get referrals to all your faucets.
you can also create a blog with related posts to get traffic and as a result referrals.
22090  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin vs Dogecoin vs Litecoin vs Peercoin on: June 10, 2015, 12:46:43 PM
Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Peercoin all use SHA-256 Cryptography
Litecoin uses Scrypt.

They all differ in price, total coin amount and transaction time.

Doge actually uses scrypt, and I don't really know how peercoin works but they claimed that they are hybrid.

bitcoin = first cryptocurrency
litecoin = first scryptcoin and altcoin
doge = based on a joke
peercoin = ?

You cant describe  Dogecoin as a based on a joke. is a coin as all other. Yes there is a myth that only gives him good that is a joke coin.
i agree, although it is a correct fact about Dogecoin, it is not the first thing you say about it.
it is another altcoin like others with a huge and cool community of people using it.
and specially with the recent price jump, it made a lot of people happy.

Consider that every alt coin relies on bitcoins value.

~~
not necessarily true IMO.
i think the ones that are being traded with both fiat and BTC are affected by bitcoin's price, and the rest have their own price swings going on.
22091  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: June 10, 2015, 12:38:13 PM
aside from signature campaign i sold one of my altcoins that i have bought a couple of days back and doubled my investment which was an awesome profit for me in a short time Cheesy
22092  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Noobie Warning: Trying to keep you all safe! >>>> [PLEASE READ] on: June 10, 2015, 12:34:40 PM
if in any way someone could have produced all those pages of private keys be sure that he wouldn't publish it, the first thing he would do is to empty the wallets that he could find from first page onward.

and since this website has been around for years, i assure you that it is a scam to make people go check their private keys in that search thingy and lose their coins.
22093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you consider bitcoin to be an altcoin/ shitcoin? on: June 10, 2015, 12:25:40 PM
the thing is whenever you mention the word "altcoin" in crypto world first thing that comes to everybody's mind is scam/ pump and dump / shitcoin. and to be honest it is not  completely wrong assumption.

as long as there is a stronger cryptocurrency called bitcoin with the huge support, and there is no altcoin available that has enough potential to replace, or compete with it, nothing can replace bitcoin.
22094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Are The Most Important Features To You? on: June 10, 2015, 12:12:59 PM
before anything the coin must not just be a simple copy of another altcoin, i prefer it to have some new features and features that are actually useful.

the coin must be adopted by people which means a coin that no one uses is useless even if it has the best features.

the last but not least, is the price. if i ever want to invest in an altcoin, i want at least an stable price and not an ever falling price which is headed towards 0.
22095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to support your favorite alt coin on: June 10, 2015, 12:03:20 PM

What is the best way to support your favorite alt coin

I left out starting your own pool and things like adding code to the coin since this is beyond the ability of most people and not realistic.

Still I am curious.  My opinions are running a full node and mining the coin are the best ways to support a coin.  ANY COIN
i think the best way is to involve more people with the coin, the more people adapt the coin the bigger and better the coin will get. although this goes without saying that the coin must at least have the potential , and not every altcoin has that.

one of the best ways IMO is to do giveaways, especially i found that coins subreddits are a good place for these kind of stuff.

and outsource every one who can do stuff like mining, running a full node or even helping with the coding should do that.
22096  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: June 09, 2015, 11:17:59 AM
I earned a few btc, did some work for a friend and he paid me in btc.
It's actually not that bad, I helped him build a deck in the back yard, we spent about 12 hours on it and he gave me a btc.
I feel good about it.
that is a really cool way to earn bitcoin.
this gave me an idea, i might try it with some of my friends in order to bring some new blood in bitcoin community Smiley
22097  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Advertising Networks on: June 09, 2015, 10:08:41 AM
there are a lot of google ads these days in every faucet i think google is the highest paying advertising network.
also adbit.co and beead (not sure about the name) is a popular one. and you are already using a-ads and bitclick which are decent

you're loving a site that is crappy and lots of bug? I would advice you not to associate yourself with these kind of sites coz you're likely risking your reputation and if you still like to apply then good luck.

Why u giving me bad reputation, just because im new here?
im trying to promote our site, we also make statistics and if you got some good suggestions regarding our services you can peacefully write me an pm.

There are no "bugs" it's all workin fine.

it is not because you are new here with a new account. it is because you are apparently new to the whole thing.
you don't have a decent announcement thread! and the script you are using is a copy, and a copy of a poor script with a lot of flaws.
22099  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: June 09, 2015, 09:35:15 AM
Hi guys,
I think I'm in bad luck for today. Anyone have any idea to explain this can happen even I'm using 49.5% chance ?
Here's my red streak  Sad

dude, consider yourself lucky. having 10 losing streak is nothing. i had even 25 losing streaks on PD before. i used to do a lot of martingale, hence the 25 losing streaks which left me bankrupt Cheesy

that is when i started doing different stuff when gambling...
22100  Economy / Gambling / Re: When was the last time you won gambling? on: June 09, 2015, 08:44:07 AM
