2221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] George Kambosos vs Devin Haney - Undisputed Lightweight Title - June 5 on: June 02, 2022, 02:35:38 AM
^^ Because Kambosos was the mandatory of the IBF belt that Lopez hold that time. So he is obliged to fight him. Kambosos beat Lee Shelby to become the mandatory challenger for Lopez then. But we all know what happens next as Kambosos won in a split decision.

Now, he has to defend it against Haney this coming Sunday. Well there's nothing wrong in betting the champion here as the underdog, maybe he can pull it off again.

It also seems to me that betting on Kambosos is a good option, since he is formally an underdog and the odds for him are very attractive - 2.6. And the result of this fight is far from obvious, for example, Pacquiao believes that Cambasos will be the winner. In the fight with Lopez, Cambasos was also an underdog, but he won one way or another, I think in the fight with Haney he will try to be the first number and fight from the very beginning. It is believed that Haney is less dangerous in terms of knockout, so he can afford such activity from the very beginning.

Aside from that, the fight will be held on his own home soil and that is in-fact his advantage because he have his fellow countrymen around the ring and the venue to cheer for him and give him a boost of confidence whenever he needs it. Betting on the champion which is an underdog in this fight is not a bad thing to do because if it turns out that he will be the hailed winner again then that bet will turn into huge bucks. As for Haney, the challenger, this is his first time traveling abroad. We will see soon how would he react to the fight when the audience is not on his favor.

Yes, that's one thing, fighting in a hostile crowd, I don't think that Haney has tried that before. And in Australia, for sure it's all gonna be Kambosos and he will surely be affected mentally even though he will not admit it.

So I agree, at the current odds, Kambosos is a live underdog. Most likely the odds could shift a big, but still a 3:1 or 4:1 underdog, it is very attractive odds.
2222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 02, 2022, 01:41:30 AM
At the age of 31, Canelo looks to be nearing retirement. He appeared to have lost his motivation, or been in too many wars against Bivol.

What sucks for GGG is he has only 1 loss on his record to Canelo. And many felt GGG won both fights. A case could be made for GGG being undefeated at this point in his carer.

GGG might have to knock Canelo out to get a win. Removing the judges from the equation is the only chance he has of winning. Commentators and judges are too biased in Canelo's favor.

Canelo to me is the most overrated boxer in the world. I don't understand how he gets so much hype behind him.

After Bivol destroyed him in the ring, he is not as overrated as before. It confuses me how quickly this fight was announced after the loss to Bivol - is it really done in order to return the “halo” of a big boxer for Canello? GGG is definitely a big name, but he is 40 years old and I will be very upset if Canello wins now just because of his age.

It's true, Bivol with the beating he gave Canelo I think was enough to leave Canelo with almost no chance, it also surprises me that Canelo had a new fight so quickly, I think he has lost something, if everything goes well for Canelo this time could think about the match against GGG, for me GGG needs this fight with him much more, I think it is already a matter of honor and rivalry, for GGG he needs a victory with him more than ever, if GGG manages to have the fight with He may have one more star in his career, but if Canelo loses again I don't think such a fight can take place, I think the fns would not be very interested.

It's more on the unknown territory that he want's to conquer. And then he hit a big wall in front of him in Bivol a legitimate 175 lbs. So Canelo's best weight is 168 lbs, as he looks very slow and has no power and lethargic at LHW. So now in this fight, he goes back to his comfort zone of super middleweight and then it's GGG that will not to go up to 168 lbs. I still think though that GGG is going to be at his best even if at 168 and has a good chance to win in the trilogy.
2223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: June 02, 2022, 12:52:22 AM
My question is..... What excuse is Ryan Garcia going to come up to withdraw from this fight? We know he used "mental issues" and a "wrist injury" as an excuse... so there are not a lot else he can use for this fight.

"Can't make the 135 lbs limit anymore", Remember in the Tagoe fight, it is in a catchweight of 138 lbs. So I was surprised that this is on the limit so let's see if Ryan will not have a problem regarding the weight.

I hope, if he decides to fight.. that he will be well prepared, because Javier Fortuna has got an explosive left paw and he swing like crazy, so if one or two of those swings goes home, Garcia is going to be in trouble.   Wink

I am looking forward to this fight.... and my bet will go towards Javier Fortuna.  Grin

He is being trained by Goosen now, he no longer under Reynoso's stable so I think he will have a new motivation to train hard and not to get upset by Fortuna because it will derail GBP plans on him to fight bigger names in the future like Haney and Tank Davis.
2224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: June 01, 2022, 05:45:03 AM
Back to Inoue and Donaire, I don't have issues on how prepared is the latter. In fact, I believe that he's more than ready for this rematch now. But the real question is, can he defeat Inoue?

According to Donaire, he is confident that he can now take down and deal with Inoue.

Well, as for any boxers, if the question asked to them is about their status of the fight, they will surely answer that they are prepared.

From what I see of Donaire, he knows very well the strategy to beat Inoue but the question is, how he will apply those strategies in the actual fight as that wasn't easy to unleash without meeting some certain factors.
In terms of strength indeed he must be completely sure of his strength because this can also be a precursor to his current spirit but the problem is that things like this are sometimes different from words and actions later.
Indeed, in this case I have high hopes for Donaire but on the other hand Inoue is still very strong in my opinion and indeed this is still unpredictable even though Donaire is highly favored

Donaire is not highly favored in this fight. Bookies have Inoue, he is 4:1 or close to 5:1 to win this fight. Although we have been talking about Donaire's strength and his supposedly new strategy, we can only speculate what it could be. I guess it will boil down as to who will land that knock out punch. I don't want to see this fight going into distance though. Much better if someone will get knock out, so that there will be no controversies. If Donaire wins, then a trilogy is needed. If Naoya scores a knock out, then we know who is the best bantamweight.
2225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: June 01, 2022, 02:36:58 AM
Also, the Warriors have the home-court advantage in this series.

If I remember correctly, golden state warriors win games by a larger points spread on the road than they do with games played at home.

I think it's the other way around. They are 12-4 record this post season, the best record so far. And wins an average of double digits at Chase center.

There could be more distractions in warrior home games which leads to reduced performance. They have their families and friends hitting them up for free tickets to games. More pressure with more people they know coming to watch the game live.

Home court may not be an advantage for them. In this case the warriors having home court could give the celtics better odds of winning.

They haven't lost at home this playoff.

Against the Nuggets, 4-1, they lost one at Nuggets homecourt, Memphis, 4-2, lost twice at Fedex home of the Grizzlies. 4-1 against the Mavs, lost once at AA arena.

So for them, home court matters. They feed on the energy of their fans.
2226  Economy / Speculation / Re: One more leg down on: June 01, 2022, 01:37:01 AM
We got a nice rally today and most people are already calling the bottom. Many of the indicators do point to a bottom however it’s hard to tell if we are actually reversing or this is nothing but a dead cat bounce.

Hopefully it will not be the case though, but who knows, maybe at the end of the week, speculators are going to short bitcoin again.

Most of the rally is due to China reopening with the stock leading the way. Stock market was closed today but futures were open and it had a huge rally day.

China is really a big market, admit it or not, although bitcoin mining has shift somewhere else, Chinese still has a huge impact on the market.

If we finish the week green then I can see further upside but if we finish bear then it’s nothing but a dead cat bounce.

Right, if at least this week will be green candle, then we would have broken the record. If I'm not mistaken, it's about 9 week of having a red candle, not good indicator, although this could be expected in a bear market.
2227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a good list for longterm investment? on: June 01, 2022, 12:29:04 AM
1/6 Bitcoin (BTC)
1/6 Ethereum (ETH)
1/6 Polygon (MATIC)
1/6 ApeCoin (APE)
1/6 Aave (AAVE)
1/6 Astar (ASTR)

Why not put majority of your portfolio on BTC and ETH?

We should learn our lessons from the Luna fiasco, it was a solid and even in the top 10 but all of a sudden it was a failure and the price almost goes to 0.

And with that,  Apecoin and Astar seems to be questionable investment for me, just saying.

Better if you have BNB or ADA or your list.
2228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: May 31, 2022, 10:34:08 PM
Again, I don't know about this opponent of his, I thought he is done with the tune-up, and now he has another tune-up fight? Well, if this is necessary before Garcia will face Davis, then I think I would just accept and watch this fight, I just love to see Garcia fighting Davis and I think I like his chances against Davis.

He will be destroyed if he fights Davis at this stage of his career lol. I used to be a fan of Ryan Garcia but after all of his antics, I doubt that this guy will be a name to watch out for in the future. As what Canelo has said to Garcia, he lacked the discipline and focus on this sport. He just love the limelight on social media which can't help build his career hehe.

TBH, I don't know this Fortuna but with Golden Boy picking him as an opponent of their prodigy then I think this is just a sort of "keep busy" fight for Garcia and the risk of losing is very slim. Cherry-picking as they say.  Grin

The boxing community is tired of Garcia's antics he is just all talks, he talks about fighting Pacquiao, then Davis, then Haney, then Kambosos, and always ends up with unpopular or second-grade boxers, if they keep doing this, Garcia will never become champion or they are waiting for a weak boxer to become champion then that's the time where Garcia will enter, he is looking like a cheap boxer, fighting cheap boxers.

One thing that will go in Garcia's favor though is that he is still young, so maybe Oscar doesn't want him this early to get damage so he is slowly building him. They are carefully picking his opponents for him, after all he just comeback from his self issues, then move to new trainer so this is sort of a new start for him. But it's going to be certain to happen that this boxers will face each other at 135-140 lbs.
2229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: May 31, 2022, 02:21:39 AM
2022 NBA Champion poll is up and running. Let's see what Bitcointalk think about this years final series.
Bookmakers show Golden State Warriors more likely to get the trophy. They are more experienced team and they were in this position plenty of times last decade. But Boston want to be in this place for years, now this is a great opportunity for them to show their skills. It will be a big test for Tatum. I'm especially happy for Al Horford, he can see final series in his career at 36. It'll be a really exciting finals and I don't expect it to finish before game six.
It's GSW handsdown but I'm with the underdogs to pull a miracle upset so I voted for them. I thought I would be the only one who would think that way but there are four others apparently hehe.

Tatum always had the talent and he has matured now. He also reminds me of how Curry and Thompson were when they first reached the Finals.

Who knows if they will pull an upset or not their time yet because they are going to face a death squad in Curry,Thompson,Poole and Wiggins. So there's a lot to cover for the Celtics, and they should remain healthy in this series to be able to complete a miracle upset against the Warriors. So let's see how the first game will be, they are going to play at Chase center first wherein the Warriors have a good record to begin with.
2230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 31, 2022, 01:01:25 AM
I am not a fan of golden state warriors but they have been getting past the playoff teams quite easily the only tough one was against the grizzlies which ended 4 2 in their favor i think they will be the champions they deserve it.
Even having some good sweep on Mavericks which we know a strong team but it seems Warriors doesnt really break a sweat on that one which you could really say that they are really a strong contender
on getting the Championship for this year but lets see if Celtics could really make out some counter in speaking with those splash brothers which is really something that hard to be stopped
once they are on a good position. We cant conclude though but its really hard to resist on not to mind an obvious result.

But this could be a different series though as the Warriors will have to sweat it out against the Celtics. Boston is built to play defense, and they have a improved Tatum and then Smart and Brown to complement him.

However, the Warriors has want we call a championship DNA and they have a good leader in Green. For me he is going to play a big factor in this series, not much on offense, but to motivated his guys, Steph and Klay.
2231  Economy / Speculation / Re: A crash where Bitcoin wasn't responsible should be treated as such on: May 29, 2022, 06:30:22 AM
The current issue with Luna contributes on how the sentiments of the people towards how they take the market and for seeing the price continue to decline they mostly try to sell off trying to minimize their losses that's why we go on this far. But for sure all of this will be countered since the issue towards those huge incidents has been covered up and people sentiments has been diverted towards on good things right now.
Without a doubt the issue with luna has affected this market in ways that many people were not expecting, and while some may be worried about what happened, at the end of the day this has no relationship with bitcoin at all and this should not affect bitcoin on the long term either, which means that this is a golden opportunity to get bitcoin for sub 30k prices, so if you have some cash which you do not think you will need during the next years this seems like a golden opportunity to invest in bitcoin.

Yeah, I don't think it will affect bitcoin's price long term, we've seen the devastating effect on the economy from the Covid-19, and yet we have bounce back from it. This is just another noise in this bear cycle, and I think we will recover from it. Might take a long time because of the current conditions, nevertheless, maybe in the next quarter, we will forgot about this one and we will definitely move forward again.
2232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Davis vs Romero: May 28 on: May 29, 2022, 05:50:33 AM

Yeah, and just like what I said, it's going to end in six rounds. Romero was really nothing as compare to Tank, he just talks too much, and we all know what happens to those trash talker when they lost, they can't accept it.

He's winning the round until that huge counterpunch it may look premature but the ref doesn't care about the time he looked into Rolly's eyes and he can see that another one big punch and his career will be ruined, Ref stoppage is correct they know better than all of us, that deserves Romero good now he will become the next internet meme after Josue Vargas, who is very boastful and very disrespectful and claims to be the most explosive boxer in the history of boxing.

Rolly hit Tank with a good right prior to the huge counter left punch. And even after the stoppage Rolly's leg is still gone and wobbly and his corner have to help him going to the locker room.

I'm not familiar with Josue Vargas though, but the last big internet meme as far as I can remember is when Maidana bet Broner.

Davis though should face a name fighter in his next fight. No more easy and cherry pick fights for him.
2233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 29, 2022, 05:24:28 AM
Guys... do you believe the Warriors will be the champions of this NBA season!!?
I believe we will have a huge number of people betting on GSW!

What do you think about this!!!??

Yeah, they are going to be the favorite in the Finals regardless of who they are going to face. And there is no surprise here, I mean the way the team's chemistry is right now, it's just the Warriors that won multiple NBA rings.

And I would say that they are more deadly now as compare to when Durant is with them, the depth of the bench. Even the young guys are performing very well, Moody and Kuminga in this playoffs that gives energy to the team.
2234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 28, 2022, 03:13:18 AM
I'm pretty sure the Boston Celtics will now end the series later. Miami Heat already did their best but it's clear they can't stand a chance to bounce back in this series. Playing at the Celtics arena, the crowd will boost their strength to finally end the series. It will be Celtics vs Warriors in the Finals.

Seems not a good match to me even though Miami will win in this series. Golden State Warriors is already an automatic winner for me in the NBA Finals. Never seen any reason why the Warriors should struggle at the ECF Champion.

It's pretty intense game so far though, the Heat had a good start and then the Celtics has to claw back in the 4th quarter.

They are currently tied at 99 with 2 minutes to go, this game could go either way so let's see who will earn the right to face the Warriors in the finals.

Edit: Heat now leads 99-104, 1:25 minutes to go.
2235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODL on: May 28, 2022, 02:19:03 AM
Definitely, as others have said, holding is the key to realized huge margins of profit in this market. It's that this strategy is very hard mentally, I mean what if you need some fiat and will have to sell some of your stash? What will be your decision.

So for me, yes, hold as much as you can be, but it times that you have no choice but to sell because something important has come up and you needed that money right away, then sell, nothing is wrong with that.
2236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 28, 2022, 01:57:34 AM
These said teams have exactly no choice to travel because that's how these games are played, even if they're motion sick or some kind of jet lag, the NBA don't give a special treatment unless there's a very important matter to cause a certain game to delay.

I don't understand why such a topic is being raised. It's already several decades with that system and teams are already used to it. Look at the Finals schedule too, they stick again with the 2-2-1-1-1 format instead of 2-3-1-1. With that format, the Warriors now have more big reasons to push for a win on Game 1 and 2 if they want to celebrate their championship for the first time in their arena with a new name, Chase Center.

And it's use to be 2-3-2 format and no one complains about that.

Going back the games right now, the Heat trying to stay with the Celtics up to the second quarter. So there is no blow game game this game 6 as this is crucial specially for the Heat because their season is on the line. Of course we wanted a game 7 as it will really go to the wire. But regardless of who is going to win in the East, Warriors will be the favorite again and it will be fitting to baptized their new arena with a NBA championship.

2238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 27, 2022, 07:17:53 AM
Many of us won in this game, and the Warriors line at -6.5 initially is not a trap. On the contrary I see others holding as high as -7.5 and they still manage to win.

So we are not waiting for the Celtics and Heat series to end. Boston a huge favorite at ML at at handicap at -8.5.
2239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] George Kambosos vs Devin Haney - Undisputed Lightweight Title - June 5 on: May 27, 2022, 06:34:08 AM
So what's your prediction on this fight? Are you with Haney or Kambasos?

I will go with Kambosos here, he will be motivated to proved that his win against Lopez is no fluke. And I agree that Haney is a very good boxer, skill wise. But he has a weak chin and Kambosos has power. So I'm just imagining that if George land that flush on Devin's chin, it will be over, regardless of what round he will land that. So George by KO might be a good odds to bet.
2240  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your fill the bag Bitcoin price? on: May 27, 2022, 05:51:05 AM

Data shows that the price isn't the bottom so if a trader who sees it coming might just put his buy price to the worse that could happen and just hold his stablecoin for now. Base on what I have seen on speculations, there are really worse fud spread who predicts price to go below $10K. But the fair price which they commonly say is the $24500 to be the bottom.

I don't think that we need to hear those FUD's those, the price is bound to go down as we are in a bear market. Like others said, from ATH to the current price, or six months later, this is very cheap and indeed a good price to buy.

If might not be the bottom and there is a big possibility that the price will go to $24,500, but I wouldn't wait for that. Just buy when at the current price of below $30,000.
