I think that the coin have a really high potential to succeed!
Today it was a very nice Pump and Dump of 175%, and its before the Airdrop!
We have just to imagine, what chaos will be after the Airdrop!

If a sockpuppet account dumps in the forest, will anybody hear it ?

Its gonna be ugly..

Update: The 2nd HIRO multipool payout is complete! We have paid out 35% more HIRO than if it were mined directly!

Way to kick the early adopters in the ass ! WTF..

Fuck multipools... not the miners..

Wrong, actually a coin multipool is a great thing for miners.

Explain.

You will be proven wrong.

While mining HIRO directly supports the network, mining other coins on the multipool and exchanging for HIRO supports the coin's price. It's a domino effect. When the price of HIRO goes up, miners are more likely to mine HIRO which this pool will do if that happens.

In the end it will create an equilibrium where any time it is not profitable to mine HIRO because of a high difficulty, mining on the multipool is the most efficient choice. This will increase the price of HIRO which would make a higher difficulty profitable when it wasn't before.

You and everyone that is in agreement with this are in a conflict of interest.

These parasitic pools are only there to serve the power hungry/ greedy pool OP and the traders/exchanges.

FUCK HIRO.. I'm out.

there's already a bunch of other X11 coins out... and in 5mo, there will literally be hundreds more.

The cloner of this clone is the one who will put out 20 more out of those hundreds. Same guy who launched Hashcoin, Dreamcoin and many others not yet detected.

HASH is an instamined scam... (check my trust rating.. Roll Eyes )

Do you have any evidence that proves LGC was created by the same dev ?

Cryptsy is a diseased pile of crap that should be wiped off this earth.. this exchange will follow MtGox eventually and be brought to justice.

After months and months of fighting with them to give me back my BTC and them accusing me of "intentionally abusing" their system, they liquidated my account and took all my remaining coins which I was forced to leave there and I had hoped would be worth something again one day so I could at least get *some* of my investment back.

So, in short: Double spend bug bought twice the amount of QRK I wanted. Instead of selling immediately, I read people were losing money and decided I'll contact their support so they can sort it and others won't lose coin. It frustratingly took them more than 30 days to respond during which time QRK value dropped significantly. BitJohn said in a IRC chat I should be happy because they "lent" me QRK. I wasn't, I was infuriated because my account was in negative BTC and I couldn't remove the QRK either. So, I gave up and decided to wait. Lo and behold, I logged into my account yesterday and found ALL my QRK was sold on 6 March 2014. I contacted their support asking them WTF was going on, here is their response:

Quote
Hello *******,

You bought more QRK than you had money for. You then left your account inactive , with a negative BTC balance for several months. Your account was liquidated to try to recoup some of our losses after you abused your account.  This is your ledger of your running BTC balance, you can see where you intentionally abused the system.

<lots of transactions here>

It is also your responsibility to check your balances as you trade and to not trade more than you own. Please deposit the BTC your account is negative to bring your account back into good standing.

Thank you,

Horus

So, you can say whatever you want about what I should've done, what I could've done better etc but here are the facts:

  • I tried to be a honest trader by logging a ticket rather than selling. If I sold, I would made more profit than I should've.
  • I was worried that if I "cheated" the exchange, I'd have my account closed down for exploitation/hacking
  • I have been repeatedly accused by 3 different staff members saying I "intentionally" tried to cheat the system, even after I've exhaustively explained what happened
  • My initial BTC investment is gone because of a double spend bug in their exchange
  • The QRK I had left behind is now gone too
  • They want me to deposit an additional amount of BTC to bring my account into "good standing"

FACT: Cryptsy will not take responsibility for their bugs, they will assume you exploited their exchange (does not matter how well you explain yourself and reference to logs / evidence), they will hold whatever coin you have and sell it without authorization (they didn't even send me an email advising me they'll be doing it. I had no warning.) to recoup "their" supposed loss. This exchange operates like a criminal enterprise and all off this within the borders of the United States.

Please listen carefully: Cryptsy will be shutdown eventually. Especially once they start taking USD deposits. Make sure your funds are NOT on Cryptsy when this happens. Don't give me the opportunity to say "I told you so, now shut the fuck up."

They are full of shit.

My deposit tripled minutes after it confirmed.

We're not going to be the next LTC, we're going to be the next Bitcoin  Tongue

Vann, a quick look at your post history makes something pretty clear about your behaviour, but I'll leave that a surprise for those who are curious.

-------------------

It's not about those who don't get it, it's about those who do.

We're just going to keep improving Hirocoin. Our custom build multipool is just the first step.

Talk is cheap. My posts are there for anyone to see and unlike the pumpers in this thread, I back up what I say. Dumping this insta-mine shitcoin scam at 4000 sure looks a lot better to me than what some bagholders hoping for a pump say.

If that is really the case, then why didn't HiroS cave in to the pumper's demands ?

Understand that changing the inflation model gives an unfair advantage to all those who bought in early. I believe that the early starting difficulty was the correct way to start Hirocoin by making lots of coins available quickly, however reducing the coin reward pushes it into the realm of unfair. The only reason people want the coin reward reduced is to see the price increase. I think it odd that we get a rush of people asking for a coin reward change and only see it as an expression of greed. It is not that you want to buy into a scarce coin, but that you want a coin that you have already bought into to become more scarce. The coin reward is not going to be changed.

My height matches the block explorer and there have been no blocks found on the network in the past 2 hours.

[...] when they change their N parameter for the scrypt() call, there are years between switches so you can just create an ASIC for current N [...]

One thing which protects against 51% attacks is MergedMining.  The downsides is, [...] value itself would drop dramaticly and we would screw over all our investors.
I see your point on the "butthurt GPU miner algos" and also agree that merged mining would have a bad effect on the coin's value. Maybe Multi-PoW is a good solution for Anoncoin. Take a look at this: Multi-PoWs: converting an Exclusive, Fragmented CryptoLand into an Inclusive, Decentralization CryptoUtopia.

On another topic: Anoncoin miner's community doesn't seem aware of P2Pool, is that so?

When P2Pool is available, as is the case with Anoncoin, if find no arguments in favour of using a centralized pool. Quoting the P2Pool Bitcoin wiki article, "Decentralized payout pooling solves the problem of centralized mining pools degrading the decentralization of Bitcoin and avoids the risk of hard to detect theft by pool operators. ".

May you should list the following P2Pool nodes on your Comparison of mining pools:
[...]
Multi-PoW isnt a good idea wrt security. more attack vectors.

All the ANC ive mined has come from running p2pool locally and pointing my miners onto it.
P2Pool isnt made for noobs/morons, thats why it fails to be big as normal pools.
Mining on a public p2pool node is also bad, the pool op can screw you in many ways. Also it dosnt help decentralization.

Is there currently a "guide" for beginners on how to mine ANC with P2Pool? If its done well (example -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=153232.0) we donate some coins for it (includes maintaining the thread too).

When you say, "pool op can screw you in many ways", do you mean things like :
- alternate payout addys
- "orphans"
- blocks that pay out 10% of normal reward
- extremely high minimum share difficulty
- extremely fast share expiry rate ect..

Can you tell that I've had my fill ? heh...

Are there any plans to integrate P2P with the client ?

Make it 'turn key' and us noobs Tongue (f the morons Grin ) will flock to Anoncoin. lol
Yes, things like that.

Do you mean shipping p2pool WITH the ANC QT client?

PS: "morons" wasnt ment as insult, more like a objective view. in case you feel insulted, excuse me Wink

None taken. heh..

Yup.. and done right.. it would make traditional pools a thing of the past. Smiley

Why are spam bots and accounts with only 5-10 post allowed to qualify for the airdrop ?

Because unfortunately there is no 100% guaranteed way of detecting them and we don't want to ban even a single person by mistake. Its like "innocent until proven guilty".

Some/many are blatently obvious. For all we know, half could belong to one guy. lol

I'd be willing to help with making a list of suspect accounts, if anyone is interested.
