2221  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC rise described as false bull on: January 23, 2023, 05:39:26 AM

I think because the chart tells something. In the daily chart, it already says it can't sustain this sudden rise. It has to really dump to give room for another week of a green candle. Or it could pump again up to $25k-$30k before the dump which means another few weeks of waiting again for the bulls to come.

One trader said on his youtube that it's not a healthy market when the price goes up all the way for 2 weeks. This is based on his experience.
2222  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you sell off during the 21k price breach. on: January 23, 2023, 05:11:38 AM
And if someone sold, then it's already a lost to them. I see someone says to rebuy when the price goes down, but you have to wait for it, and for all we know we might not see the price below $20k again.

Again for those who push the sell button, it's now $22k and even reaches $23k in the last 24 hours. So it's really not good to sell in this sort of mini bull run, the price is still going up. Or better yet, just hold and be a long term investor and shorting for me is not advisable in this kind of market movement.

As long as they make a profit, they don't lose, no one knows how much bitcoin will go up, so there's nothing wrong with them selling at $21k and already making a profit. And we are still in the bearish season, so the possibility of bitcoin falling back is not impossible. Neither you nor I nor anyone knows if bitcoin will rise or fall in the coming days, so your statement that bitcoin won't drop to $20k again is a false statement. As for me, I am still cautious even though the price has increased.

If they rebuy at a higher price that means they lose satoshis. I actually lost some since I sold at $21K. It never drop to 19k as I expect so I didn't buy back at all but goes for an altcoin that I plan to have a stash.

It doesn't look like it's going to be dumped soon so we might hit $25K first before falling back again. I could be wrong about this speculation but sure many are expecting the BTC price to fall again.
2223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I managed to invite 1 of my friends to invest in bitcoin on: January 22, 2023, 07:40:52 PM

because honestly I myself am still a beginner. what do you think everything i do
is it wrong or not?

Do you feel you are vaguely responsible if he loses his money?  Cheesy  He is a businessman, owns a shop and pretty much he values money which means profit is important for him to see.

The coin could be in the exchange still and your neighbor has no plans of getting it out. Nothing wrong with what you did, it's fine I guess the best advice you can tell your neighbor is to hold for now and sell by the time the profit is enough for him.

2224  Economy / Economics / Re: After Budgeting, How Do I Deal With Unexcepted Expenses? on: January 22, 2023, 04:28:23 PM
Does an unforeseen expense suddenly come forced you to sell coins you have been holding for a long time?
I am pissed thinking about it because it's necessary to sell because it needs funds to fix the car headlight caused by an accident. Dealing with it I guess is to just consider it spent for a good cause. Budget adjustment again.
2225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This Smells Like Hypocrisy on: January 22, 2023, 04:00:20 PM
Not just in Japan though, governments prevent some things to happen before it's too late. The thing with the government is that the illegal today can be deemed legal in the next decade if it favors them. Aren't weed illegal years ago?

Lottery and Horse racing are centralized and regulated by the government and they get money/tax collection from these kinds of gambling. It's much needed for the government to have funds.

2226  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mini bull run or short Squeeze (manipulation) ? on: January 22, 2023, 03:50:47 PM
Can't help but think of manipulation still. Even the chart today is really weird when I see this pump couldn't sustain anymore that it has to be dumped right now or the plunge will be harder. Suddenly the market goes further up instead.

So what I can say is that if this is manipulated, it would really go below $15K. The futures traders are not going to take the risk of whether to go long or short, they are probably waiting where this market will go.
2227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: January 22, 2023, 03:34:40 PM
~snip~
It would be a suicide if you do really end up on having this kind of mindset and belief on mind about getting some loan and going all in just because you do really believe on AI winning rate?
For some testing then it wont really be that bad but it would really be jut good for proving out your curiosity but if you do rely on it then it would be an another story.
Dont make yourself believe that these things does work because if it does then all of us would really be that filthy rich and make our all bets to be profitable.
So it doesnt really work, it is really just people becomes too desperate on trying out new things.

I think there might be a possibility of getting better odds than some companies that are not using AI to calculate their odds.

But in the end it's a small amount of probability to get it right, so I wouldn't put too much money on it.

Maybe for things that are rare, and the AI is saying it will happen, maybe for those it's worth using it.
We don't really know how big the chance is to get a win from using AI for gambling. But if the chances of winning are getting bigger, the news will surely spread to many gamblers so that many gamblers will try it to see the results. And if it works for some people, there will be many more who will try it and most of them will use more money to gamble. I can't imagine what if AI technology is applied to gambling and a question arises: whether casinos can survive the many people who can win from many games.

We're all curious about what AI can do if the data it has is updated every now and then. You wouldn't think for 1 sec not to try asking the AI if your analysis of a sports match is close to its analysis. It gives you a second confirmation that your confidence to bet increases.

Of course, if AI can do it, it's a breakthrough. And if I think of betting just $25 and then the AI says my prediction is close to its prediction, I might just bet $50.
2228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Doxxed team can help a new gambling platform? on: January 22, 2023, 03:12:37 PM

A casino owner will be putting himself at risk if he adds his name to the casino website with all his details. You'll have to be considerate of that just as you don't want to submit KYC documents but the casino has no choice but to ask users for KYC because they are regulated by the government and they have to comply.

2229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First thing i will do if Bitcoin become legal tender globally on: January 21, 2023, 05:33:28 PM

I believe I will open my own business and accept Bitcoin as payment method since people will surely excited to use Bitcoin for their purchase. There will be a demand for business that accepts Bitcoin that time which is very good to earn more profits from the Bitcoin craze.

Also buying goods on our super market using Bitcoin as direct payment is cool. Imagine you are going on the wet market to buy fresh fish while local sellers accepts Bitcoin payment for small purchase. I just hope that transaction fee that time will be cheaper through the use of more developed lightning network because there will be a problem on huge fee if this kind of mass adoption really happened.

A lot of businesses will also be accepting BTC, it's a race to accumulate BTC locally and not through trading which is really at the adoption level with LN makes tx fees close to nothing.

I might also provide services accepting BTC, I have plans to do it a long time ago but none in my neighborhood knows BTC either. But if all things come and people in my area learn to use BTC, I will definitely start selling aquarium fish with BTC.
2230  Economy / Economics / Re: how to overcome inflation for the community on: January 21, 2023, 05:15:27 PM
Hedging is the way to fight inflation that's why people buy gold and BTC. USD is normally used by people from other countries to hedge against the plunging value of the local currency.  Spend less and cancel your vacation.

Looking for additional income in the best way, now means that we need to sacrifice in order to survive the crisis while the prices of gas and oil price steal the funds allotted to food. More money coming into the household is one priority.
2231  Economy / Economics / Re: US hits debt ceiling, prompting Treasury to take extraordinary measures on: January 21, 2023, 04:22:46 PM

Such news was leaked in Reuter days before this CNN article was out.  Can't help thinking this will fall under the rule of the GOP while CNN is now starting to dump Biden so Joe will not be able to run again.

Will the new debt ceiling hold until 2024? We went through the same thing a year ago in December 2021. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Raising the ceiling is always the first option, they can continue to do so until they can't. But then Yellen already has prepared behind-the-scenes accounting maneuvers, a temporary solution to avoid default or at least prolong the inevitable giving people time to prepare what's coming. If one will still pretends this news doesn't exist, its really going to end worse for you.

As part of the debt issuance suspension period, the agency will begin to sell existing investments and suspending reinvestments of the Civil Service Retirement and Disability Fund and the Postal Service Retiree Health Benefits Fund. Also, it will suspend the reinvestment of a government securities fund of the Federal Employees Retirement System Thrift Savings Plan.

These funds are invested in special-issue Treasury securities, which count against the debt limit. Treasury’s actions would reduce the amount of outstanding debt subject to the limit and temporarily allow it to continue paying the government’s bills on time and in full.
2232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: January 21, 2023, 03:43:08 PM

Inoue just announced vacating the bantamweight then instantly got a match with Fulton. This isn't a final date yet so maybe the venue can also change later, it's not to Fulton's advantage to fight in Japan.

According to one tweet Fulton already suggested they fight at 126. This is to put Inoue at a disadvantage while Inoue goes fighting without tuneup at 122. That's the first image I saw Inoue smiling by the way, looks like a K-pop singer.
You still able to see that smiling face? hehe. *I agree on that one though*

Is this upcoming fight in May or there's no final for this thing? 122 lbs wont be that much of an issue i guess but for 126 then i highly doubt that it would be giving some significant effect on Inoue.
Just like the rest been saying that i was for Akhmadaliev first before Fulton but it seems that they are in a hurry and i dont have doubts that they are really that confident
and see up some ways on how to beat up Fulton. This do really looks interesting.

A slight increase in weight can significantly change the agility of a person. It's too early for Inoue to hit the wall yet, he's the real deal and it's just a few pounds but going to featherweight might actually be a different sphere already.

Donaire is actually much faster than Fulton so if he made that guy fold, it can be easy for Inoue to also bring Fulton down. But because we have not seen him handle 122, it's risky that fact that he always wants to open up to lure his opponent so he could launch a counter.

2233  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: January 21, 2023, 03:02:35 PM
We don't only learn from loosing bitcoin in real life also we still learn alot, when someone lose bitcoin or something very important if he's d one that's fumble you'll he'll learn lesson from it someone won't even advice he/she you can he'll have more knowledge about the something we can't only learn lesson from crypto even real life things happen that make us stop other things that we don't know they're bad but once we see someone who is doing it something bad happen to that person we take lesson and stop what we do too

Even losing in a fight against your rival makes you learn things. A bunch of losses will make a man learn to deal with his loss but when a man wins, he will also learn the weakness of his enemy. It can be compared to losing money from trading. But some are taking the easy way like using the bots instead but it's still one way to win.

One is to really find out how the market works and learn the indicators that will help you decide what is the next move. In Crypto, we knew the market has a cycle.
2234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 21, 2023, 02:31:48 PM
I’m really rooting for this match to finally happen, and now the audience will be more excited to witness the said match hopefully by April. My vote goes for Tank Davis, but I also want to witness how Ryan Garcia will perform in the ring given that his opponent is the crowd’s favorite so maybe this will create more challenge on him to give Tank his best shot so he can make this fight more profitable on his part.

I also like to see Davis beats Ryan Garcia since the latter keep on boasting the he can defeat Davis via knock out in just 2 rounds.

Ryan Garcia is a social media addict and says anything he wants to say but i think him saying that he would KO Davis is just part of selling this fight but i also do think that he could KO Davis if the latter would be careless like what he did to in his fight with Hector Garcia where he was hit with a lot of power shots, just lucky for him that Hector doesn't hit hard like Ryan does.

BTW, this fight if pushes through will be on April 15 not May so better if OP could change the title of this thread.

It could be that Davis will KO Ryan also.
It could be that Ryan is very confident in his skills. It's one thing to say things in public but actually doing it in the ring can solidify what he is saying.

They both have the power and thier fights don't always end in the 12th round but if it does and no one drops dead, you can bet your bottom $ that this rivalry will end in a series of matches.
2235  Economy / Economics / Re: We are not out of the woods yet on: January 21, 2023, 02:06:10 PM
Nothing is impossible, in the context of the world economy is still struggling, it is possible for bitcoin to continue to be impacted and fall more than is possible. When many believe that a bottom has been formed and bitcoin will never fall again, that is when bitcoin will fall. I still believe we haven't bottomed yet, bitcoin will drop below $15k.
I'm also wondering how you can determine for yourself about the fall in Bitcoin to a certain level at the moment which is even the opposite of what is happening in the market at the moment. And logically when there are many people who believe in Bitcoin not to fall again, automatically some people will also make purchases on Bitcoin and will not just sit idly by and see Bitcoin in the market. So what you say doesn't make much sense to me at this point.

That is my prediction, and I am expecting bitcoin to drop and fall further. Many people are expecting bitcoins to rise again because they bought bitcoins at a high price or they have accumulated enough of their bitcoins. But I still want to buy bitcoin cheaply, so I expect it to drop more, and in the current economic situation, I really hope my prediction is correct.

Well, we can't be so sure of what the price will be in the next few weeks despite how quick the rise of BTC since last week and this week. Like OP said we are yet not out of the woods, there could be challenges ahead since the bankruptcy of other big crypto groups had been in the news over and over.

Who knows what could happen? The market can just crash and spike for a simple reason. But one certain fact is known to us, Halving is in 2024. Right now is still 2023.

2236  Economy / Economics / Re: How is the cost of living in your country? on: January 20, 2023, 08:12:17 PM
The cost of living in my country is so high that we no longer complain about it anymore. We try to just survive. To keep our heads above water for the next 36days when we will take to the polls to vote out the bad leaders that have brought untold and unbearable hardship to the common man and woman while they take the wealth of the nation to abroad and stash it foreign bank accounts.
You have really spoke my mind because even if we complain about this high cost of things, we still see things get worse, worse and more worse so the best thing to do is to just do what humans are best known for,  which is the ability to adapt to all changes. The price of things in my country are gotten so worst that the average man now needs to tripple his hustle in other for one to survive. Well the opportunity to vote out this bad leaders in the country is the only hope we have for things to  go a positive way as the major problem in the country is seemingly due to the leaders and the heavy toll of corruption they have inplaced in the country.

Same here in my country and I think we all are in the same situation except those who are really rich.  Prices of everything are affected by inflation, Sometimes, I'm just buying mini burgers for my meal and although it helps me back in shape, it feels very unsatisfactory.

A country with hungry people will really be unstable when they all decide to burn the government down. It rarely happens where there is no political party behind it but our hunger and if this happens it's really chaotic. I've seen looting every where.
2237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is FTX going for a reopen? on: January 20, 2023, 06:31:50 PM
Maybe it will really reopen again and people wanted to be the first again to make money so they buy the FTT again expecting a huge return in the coming bull run. You can never say never when it comes to making a profit. But to me, I'd rather not go buying FTT the only reason why an investor may go back to FTX is likely just to claim back the money he lost.

Quote
“The brand is toxic,” Harvey said. “It is a classic situation where you fooled me once, shame on FTX but if you fool me twice, it’s all on me.”

This is according to Campbell Harvey, a finance professor at Duke University. I think many of its investors would really agree to him.
2238  Economy / Economics / Re: More Money Problems that Bitcoin Solves on: January 20, 2023, 06:14:10 PM

The fiat system gives the government the power to govern people's lives and while they know BTC can be more beneficial to the people, BTC is not beneficial for the government because more people that have money can actually fund a revolution against the government. They may even try to confiscate money from people including the BTC.

They are not willing to give up that power to the people.
2239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin increased my mental awareness on: January 20, 2023, 05:55:22 PM
Is someone you think going to rob you? No one is taking it unless you keep announcing you have money in BTC.
Don't stress yourself with just wallet backup and making it safe. You end up in a mental institution with that.  Grin

I was thinking of being aware of what is happening to banks, governments, and other markets crashing while BTC remains calmer now. Not aware of just keeping private keys as private.
2240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: January 20, 2023, 04:19:50 PM
But people still uses A.I in trading and are making huge profits.

Do you mean a Trading Bot here? If that is, I think we can't compare it to an AI as trading bots follows the algorithm based on how the user set it up, in other words just follow the set command of its user. Different from the literal AI that no need for such manual setup command but instead will adopt based on the market trend and will execute the best possible trading actions on a given trend.

So why do you think such can't be made especially in football whereby all records, team performance, number of corners, team with the most ball possession, total number of match won are always uploaded online immediately after each game or even during the game.

Because regardless of any professional technical sports analysis, sports results can't be predicted accurately.

Maybe the Moneyline can be predicted at a higher rate by these AIs but what about other betting options such as handicap, point spread, total, and other betting options? Not all bettors always bet on Moneyline. There are lots of betting options each sport leagues.

Making AI useless when it comes to predicting the outcome of a match. And also the ChatGPT AI needs an update. Anyone would be able to see it through its replies when asked about matches. It couldn't pull the data it needs, all the more with these betting options.

Bookies may not also want AI to give any information about matches. One that I can imagine that bookies might do in order for AI to not work is to prevent the spider bots from crawling onto thier websites. Avoid them from indexing any information, I'm sure they have the grounds for doing so.

What happens is that the ChatGPT has information up to 2021, obviously it has how to make the predictions, but obviously they will not launch it, I don't know under what criteria they will be able to make a prediction, but if we start to see the mathematical and statistical criteria it is super advanced, I would make some kind of prediction based on mathematics and probabilities but I know that my results would not be accurate, because everything is based on trial and error, on the other hand, the AI learns too quickly, in 1 hour it already knows as if If people were in this trade for 30 years, predictions cannot really be made for now, due to the programming that does not allow it, it would be a matter of testing.

Predictions are predictions and they can't be 100% correct. The AI can actually get the data from sportsman records and stats on Wikipedia if the creator of ChatGPT allows it and starts from there which AI can generate a possible outcome. But eventually, right after its prediction, it will also remind us about prediction is just a prediction and it couldn't be correct until it happens.

When its predictions fail, this AI wouldn't be useful for bettors to use. That's a conclusion one would think after relying on it.
