Why Create a Cryptocurrency in 2019?

simple answer
profit

long answer
there are already so many cryptocurrencies in play that whatever you want to build a platform of is possible right now with the existing ones
also all the new coins that are released right now will have a hard time paving the way for themselves for the same above reason

I'm with you on this, the driving force and the motivating factor is still profit, profit and profit, because all these past coins and tokens that has existed create a crowdfunding and are now gone has a good road map, some of them has a good platform and had a chance to be adopted, whatever coins or tokens you are creating now, has been created this inflationary coins of yours is not new I have read it so many times, just do your research.

To all newbies like myself on this forum, you never know what you are missing if you are not visiting scam accusation thread regularly on this forum, this board right here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

Can safe you lot of headache when you are still trying to invest on a project but you aren't sure yet whether to invest or not due to lack of solid information or

You haven't decide on which bounty project to promote yet, some members are very good at detecting scam projects and from time to time they always reveal fake/scam projects on the board, make sure you seek for better info before making any decisions, seeking answers can help.

I totally agree, if you are active in bounty campaign, this is a must place to visit, I'm surprise that even if there are bad reports about one ICO or project, they still prefer to promote, I'd like to think that they are part of the project or just ignorant and did not know that there's already a bad report, sometimes they are tagged for promoting a project with bad reports
2223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think all crypto is scam on: November 20, 2019, 03:03:23 PM
First there is an announcement, then there is 3 year Roadmap,
extended each year with meaningless additions, fake recruiting of
employees, trade interrupts, software announcements, wallet updates, changes
quizes, games, givaways, airdrops, forks, ICOs etc, etc, etc.

I've seen several coins with great tech which is perfectly quick and secure, anonymous (or not) and safe.
They all have mobile wallets and wallets for every OS.
Despite this fact they cannot be adopted. Nobody wants to use them, there is no real need for them.
A team of good programmers could develop a blockchain which can replace banks and paper money
in a month. Another month for testing and another month for setting up nodes across the globe.
The main point behind all this is: who controlls these programmers?

Voilla. it is that easy. That is why I think all these announcements and Roadmaps are bullshit.
And it took us two years and millions of investors money, to find all this out, what a waste of time, and money that is why ICO are ignored now, so many coins has become a pump and dump, there used to be a popular trend in the ICO, and these are the exchanged based token because of the success of Binance, now all these exchanged based token are now useless, no traders no volume, cannot even reach the top standing.
2224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: November 20, 2019, 02:21:12 PM
I like to share my story being a crypto enthusiast, a trader and an investor at the same time.

I started in this forum in year 2015 when altcoins are still a good investment and Binance is still not the most popular exchange in the market.
I trade with Poloniex most of the time, sometimes I trade with Bittrex but then I realize that I am not so profitable with trading since I cannot focus on it due to the reason that i have a day job to prioritize.

Therefore, I started to invest for long term and I was entice by how the market moves and I was so optimistic that long term could really change my life.
So to make the story short, I invested with different altcoins and have help it until now.

Now, when the bull run comes, I still couldn't sell right away as I was getting greedy thinking I could earn more when I still hold.
of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.

And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

So top 10 of my portfolio consist of the following based on my blockfolio.

1) Atlant
2) Edgeless
3) Centra
4) Humaniq
5) Matchpool
6) Lunyr
7) KIN
8.) FUEL
9) SONM
10)NPXS

Please tell me if I should still expect I will be profitable or just give up now already.

The problem with us is we do not expect this top happen, this is the first time it happen, we all think that all the coins we are holding are going to the moon because, we have history as proof that it is going up continously, until bad things happen, and we are at a lost, we are all waiting for the market to recover, but unfortunately it did not happen, and so we have the longest bear market.
The big lesson that we have learned here is to always think of our position, and not to pour 100% of our trust.
2225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use betting tips? on: November 20, 2019, 05:47:51 AM
From my personal experience I used, I paid about $ 70 a month, and I got a ticket every 2 days with odds 3-4, I was not satisfied, I guessed poorly (more precisely that tipser), out of 15 tickets, the hits were 7. which is very bad for that odds. I lost a lot on that, so I'm interested in your experience?

$70 a month for a tip that are not profitable, better unsubscribe from that, it'snot worth the ratio should be at least 70%, I have not subscribed to such services, I prefer doing it in my own or if there is a free plan then I will choose but I will not depend my bet here,
these kind of services do not offer guaranty so you are giving someone to decide for you, I rather lose by my own decision than blame people I paid.
2226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you become a better or a worse person after you started gambling on: November 19, 2019, 03:58:45 PM
Are you a much better person now that you are gambling or you turn up worse after you started gambling, we are talking about the character here, there's people who became worse after starting gambling, while some people become a good decision-maker and had more control because of gambling so which version are you.

I can say I'm more on the latter, I was worse when I was just starting out in gambling but I overcome it and now playing with cautious and has lot of control, I owed it to my early discipline and when I was not yet gambling, I came to realize that gambling will destroy if you cant control it, so right now I'm gambling comfortably knowing i am in total control of myself and my funds.
2227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social experiments in the world of gambling on: November 19, 2019, 03:07:54 PM
I would say actually yes I lost about 400,000 Dogecoin, maybe for you it's not much but it's very valuable to me
I regret having used it to gamble, I sacrificed what was more important and that was my biggest mistake
I'm confused about what to do because I don't live alone, I have family and money is supposed to be for them! I am too stupid to be the head of a family
Actually I am ashamed to say this, but I am really confused to deal with it, I borrowed a neighbor, mortgaged electronics for necessities
It's financial, if you want to help me, I really appreciate it and I promise I won't use it for the same mistake, I really promise I will use it as best I can!

is asking us to donate part of your experiment, because in my part I won't donate to strangers who only has story to tell and no documents to show that he indeed lost, there are so many of these online in fact I can come out with a better story.

You can even get a red tag for begging and I have seen people getting red tag for doing this.
2228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reputation at stake will you stop gambling on: November 19, 2019, 01:59:35 PM
I don't think I'm going to stop if people knows me that i'm gambling for fun and I don't gamble or lose big money , my constituents will vote on my capability and how good am I in handling my duty as a public official, even those who people who are not gambling can steal funds and become corrupt, as long as they know you as a responsible guy, they will vote for you, voters are wiser now.
2229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the halving a catalyst for a Bitcoin price bubble? on: November 19, 2019, 10:25:03 AM
My question “Is the halving a catalyst for a Bitcoin price bubble?” is based on my observation that the halving happens every 4 years and a Bitcoin price bubble seems to also happen every 4 years.

Halving of 2016: 7/9/16
Price bubble was around mid Dec 2017 (about 17 months after halving)

Halving of 2012: 11/28/12
Price bubble was around late Nov 2013 (about 12 months after halving)

Any correlation? Is it possible that the halving starts a price increase that grows exponentially over the course of a year to a year and a half until the bubble pops?  If so, should we expect the same thing to happen after the halving of 2020?

Please share your thoughts

So far all the past halving did not disappoint us, we have arrive at the best price in 2017 and we are still in a good price as of this writing, we are better, than 7 years ago, this 2020 halving will bring good results in the price because only 900 Bitcoin will be mined after this half of what is mining today until 2024, if we are good after the 2016 we re going to be better 2010 onwards.

2230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which one makes sense on: November 18, 2019, 05:06:37 PM
Which one should come first? better to get through bounty before ICO/IEO fund raising or better to run bounty while fundraising is ongoing... Suggestion need
Majority of the ICO are running their bounty before their ICO/IEO fund raising, this is to create longer awareness, investors wants to see how the project evolve while in the bounty campaign, they want feed backs coming from the community, and of course experts opinion, this is also to better prepare investors of their funds but be sure that you a running a legit project because members will scrutinize your project.
2231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you any new ideas to replace the KYC? on: November 18, 2019, 04:26:22 PM
The crypto market is decentralized, we live here as anonymous and free and we love it! But this KYC process is killing the anonymity of crypto! To invest in a good IEO you need to verify KYC, to do a good bounty project, you will have to go through KYC! But why? You guys are doing nothing with our KYC, then why you keep asking our identity? A selfie by holding my ID card, wtf! Did we ever ask you to verify your KYC when you launch a project/bounty?  Why you are not coming with another option where a freedom crypto member doesn't need to show his face?

Ok, guys, now my question to you, Have you any idea what can be good to replace the KYC method?

How I wish there is, but there isn't, we can be anonymous by holding our token but once you convert it to fiat or you become part of a centralize platform that deals with Cryptocurrency, you cannot escaped from being traced, unfortunately it will stay permanently until all of us shifted to Decentralized Exchange, which I don't think will happen sooner.
2232  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Halving Effect??? on: November 18, 2019, 03:44:59 PM
I'm still a newbie and I'm confused.

Bitcoin halving is expected in May, 2020. From what I've been reading about halving, it seems that it should have a positive effect on any crypto coins pricing.

Today I read about Litecoin/LTC halving on August 5, 2019 and the halving effect after three months is negative, it's down 30% since the halving.

Is that also what can be expected of the Bitcoin halving?

I don't think we are going to see the same scenario, we cannot compare Litecoin experience to Bitcoin experiences, Litecoin's achievement, performance and price depends so much on Bitcoin, and so are all the other coins in the market.
We can check the history after the halving and you'll see that every Bitcoin's halving is a giant step towards it's adoption.
2233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Devastating signal: bear market, 6.4k support, 12.4 resistance on: November 18, 2019, 12:58:03 PM

Quote my message in 1 month sista, we will get below 7k for sure. Doesn't mean I am not optimistic for 2020/2021.

7k in December, bounce back to 9.5k in February 2020, we just need to remain above 6.4k, that's all.

Why I would buy more above 12.4? Simply because this resistance is very strong and if we pass this, the sky is the limit.

One of the rare situations where I would sell low (below 6.4) and buy high (13k)  Grin

Hopefully we will not go down to $7 k anymore, we have the momentum right now I'm looking at $9 k before the end of the year and then everybody will go positive and go buying spree January onward, this is a much better scenario, I'm not saying yours is bad because coming from your words, you are optimistic, we all are, we just have to carry our optimism going to the much awaited halving.
2234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy every dip! on: November 18, 2019, 12:13:18 PM
I can't afford to buy bitcoin when there is a decline again later either at the end of this year or in early 2020, I only have a little capital and only enough to buy some other cheaper Altcoin, in some time I feel being played with by bitcoin prices this time

You don't have to buy a whole Bitcoin just buy commensurate to what you can afford, some altcoins are good but with the coming halving the go to coin is definitely Bitcoin, I am buying on every dip and from my rewards from my current campaign, we should like an ant storing foods for the rainy days however small we stored, because it's going to worth it next year.
2235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of Bitcoin rise by the end of this year on current time? on: November 17, 2019, 02:51:45 PM
How much will it go up if it goes up?
If Bitcoin price will be down, how much will it goes down?

If you have a website that can predict the price of Bitcoin, please recommend it.
I know just one, "Longforecast"

And let me know how accurate the prediction is based on experience.

It's hard to predict the exact figure, so many experts failed on this, at this point of time, we should unite in not thinking that it will go down, halving is fast approaching and this is our big hope that Bitcoin will finally hit one more time, people are accumulating / storing coins
Right now I only have https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-obituaries/  to track how Bitcoin perform over the years.
2236  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangerous disadvantage of web wallet. on: November 17, 2019, 01:47:07 PM
Even as a newbie I have second thought of depositing big amount to address I have no control of, I have been reading a lot of these kind of scenarios, people should not become aware of this, we are our own bank and we are always responsible on all action whether sending or receiving, and for newbies, be sure to read and educate yourself before buying or holding a big amount of coins.
2237  Economy / Speculation / Re: The 2020 Next Bitcoin Halving vs The 2016 One on: November 17, 2019, 10:58:00 AM
Bitcoin saw its price jumped from $400 to $800 USD per coin during the 2016 halving. Can we expect the same for next year's BTC halving?

People expect to much in the coming halving, there's a possibility that it could happen, only a possibility but not a guaranty, every volatile market can not guaranty a particular scenario, it's just good that apart from the coming halving, we have some good news popping up from time to time, if the price of Bitcoin double or triple it's not only about the halving, it's because a lot of good news and adoption.
2238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn $1 worth of bitcoin everyday? Please help! on: November 17, 2019, 09:46:48 AM

Is there any other legit and paying campaigns like Cryptotalk? Please introduce them to me to earn more.

So far only Cryptotalk is the only one implementing a paid to post forum, but hopefully many more exchange set up a forum and follow Yobit's move in launching a paid to post forum, you better sign up there and passed the 100 posts test, they keep changing it from 50 they increase it to 100 posts but still better than doing a faucets, what you will earn in two weeks in Faucets you can earn here in a day.
2239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [What IF] Part 6 on: November 17, 2019, 08:27:50 AM
Let's get this started already! Currently on a mixed mood right now. LoL. I wonder how many users will participate this week after starting on an early day.

So here, what if if a certain platform gives a random time for free bets within a minute, would you stay awake and online just to participate on that lucky event? Besides you'll never know you might hit the jackpot after you make all the bets within a minute.
Somewhere like this:
"In this month, we will be having a free bet on a minute just stay tuned for we will hit it randomly and it will be made only 3times as a whole"

Now you guys, hit it!

Does that mean you will have to stay the whole day and night glued and waiting for the announcement. I don't think I can keep up I cannot spend the whole day and night just waiting for a free spin I can afford to buy a spin so why spend waiting for the whole day or night for a free spin, there's no guaranty also because it is random, it's a strategy is to increase traffic.
2240  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brave Browser - Why it doesn't care about your privacy on: November 16, 2019, 05:41:23 PM
I'm against KYC too. I think that they are using the KYC to verify the legitimacy of the account. I used the brave competitor project and they do the same. There referral program can be abused if they don't apply that. I'm not supporting them anyway because I have bat token that still stock on my brave wallet because of this KYC. I hope that they come up some solution for this KYC requirements.

If the only reason for brave browser to implement KYC is to avoid the breach of their referral program, then they should stop the referrals rewards and people can only earn tokens for browsing. This KYC implementation is hurting the Brave popularity and many people have stopped using brave just because of this KYC.

I agree this is one of the reason I haven't done KYC in Bat,  I stopped doing KYC to any project even to the point of losing my shares of the coins and I'm not afraid to lose my coins here also, their promotion is protecting our data, but they cannot protect us from themselves
they should do something on this or they will lose a share of the market, which they gained when they are starting out.
