Total logged in time doesn't really matters and it doesn't give any advantage so newbie with 1 time will be treated same as an account with 62 years of total logged in time. And about the important announcement section which I didn't really browsed for very long time because any real important will flood the meta section immediately so even the big changes are announced through meta only in the recent years, probably theymos forgot the existence of those sections. Cheesy

First of all when someone invest on something without prior knowledge then they are simply taking the chances which also called as gambling. Returns are secondary because it is not assure or the assured returns are far less than the potential for real investors so the risk factor is always there but when we know the asset and how the future is going to be then we may not worry that much when it bumps or dumps.

Investing in knowledge is not easy as it takes a long time to master it, people often ignore to learn first because there are others that claims they are pro when it comes to crypto trading/investment. They just charge you with a small fee then they promise a trading signal for few months. Investing in knowledge is not anyone can do, it also requires a discipline that will help you to control your emotion on different market situations. Like myself even if I learn, my emotion will just ruin my trading plan so I'd rather just hodl my crypto investments.

Those subscription courses are nothing but scam in my opinion, if they really know how to make money then they won't be convincing people that they know the way so pay me and I will tell the secret and actually that is not the things works. The knowledge we gain is coming from the experience, the mistakes we do at first, etc so all these need to be combined together to make us a better investors over time.
2243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Generating wallet on custodial exchanges is what you should avoid on: June 11, 2022, 02:46:40 PM
I can only see the password not the private keys, because both are different and how can you connect your non custodial wallet to a centralized exchange? Its just a trick to keep the funds in the exchange itself instead of withdrawing it everytime but no exchange is safer for holding and another reason to mention " not your keys not your coins".
2244  Other / Archival / Re: The growth of annual inflation in US reached 8.6% on: June 11, 2022, 12:57:13 PM
First of all the number should be higher than officially reported by government then we see the declining in the cryptocurrency market instead of hike because people in need of cash so they will be ready to sell everything they have got and cryptocurrency is easily turned to liquid cash compared to other assets.
2245  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Police action proves unborn babies are alive and worth protecting on: June 11, 2022, 11:21:21 AM
Well, what about the feminist reaction to this, if they agree that unborn child is worth to be saved then they are not deserved to be killed ( abortion ). Yeah this is what I want to ask among the women who carries my body my rights slogan.

Everyone deserved to be protected and if they are lucky then miracle will happen even at our birth.
2246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Trends For 2022 on: June 11, 2022, 09:05:27 AM
People from the countries where gambling is restricted are not allowed to play on the most of the cryptocurrency gambling sites as well, if you take a look at the TOS of any gambling site you will see players from which countries are not allowed to register and some people are allowed to play specific games only depends on the regulations of particular country so that is the one misleading point in the article.
2247  Economy / Economics / Re: Richest people have a lot expenses to pay here is the solution on: June 11, 2022, 06:35:47 AM
I assume you're saying there will be goods to buy but no money will be here for the rich people to spend? Government will simply print money and make enough supply so rich people never run out of cash. And you know rich people ( most of them) don't want the other class people to know the real advantage of decentralization so they will give more effort from stop the things from happening.
2248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rakeback and promotions for limited time on: June 10, 2022, 09:54:38 PM
Not really to offend anyone but personally I feel that cashback offer like feature is more of a trap to make increase your spending on their products or casinos or whatever it could be so I am not really attracted to it but is is a successful strategy from business perspective even though they are giving away 10% as rack back they are not losing anything because they will atleast make those people to spend 10 to 50% more on average spending amount for betting.

Yes, I agree with you, all these tiers, cups, "bronze, silver, gold" levels bring an RPG element to gambling and this affects many players so they start playing more to reach higher ranks. And even though such features are introduced to the casino mainly in order to increase player loyalty, this is undoubtedly a trap for some gamblers.
As a business man this is their strategy to bring more returns but they didn't force we are on our own so we need to set our limits based on our risk appetite. Sometimes we think we are smart so trying to make money out of those offers, promotion, contest but in reality things maybe different so its important to be aware and know the consequences as well.

2250  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name Vs Site Functionality? Or Both? on: June 10, 2022, 04:17:02 PM
For a startup it is more important to focus on the customer satisfaction over their branding because they don't have enough to cover both in their initial stage, once their gain trust from their existing customers they can go for branding to get their business to next big level that is what most business successful people will agree with.

2252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Energy used to mine Bitcoin with other industries. on: June 10, 2022, 01:29:43 PM
Now it is clear that current banking system is creating more carbon emission than the Bitcoin mining but I am not sure the numbers are accurate because I expected the numbers of banking industry is a lot higher or probably hidden along with airconditioner. Anyway now we can point fingers who is the biggest culprit. Cheesy

Not only this software any softwares downloaded from the third party websites have such risk even if it's not a cracked version that is why its always recommend to use the official website for installing any softwares for PCs and official market place for smartphones.
2254  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A single trading tool is not enough on: June 09, 2022, 03:44:31 PM
Using tools like charts and indicators are not really mandatory to do trades, we can set our target price and leave it until it reaches but for short term traders they have to do more analysis on the movements that is where the importance of indicators and other trading tools comes but it also doesn't ensure the market movement just a kind of prediction and expect it to happen. Long time back when I am actively doing day trades I used to use 3 indicators only because too much if indicators also will give more confusion which doesn't let us to conclude the things.
What do you use in setting your targets? If you just jump into trades without analysis be it short term or scalping it is similar to gambling. Indicators are like guides they are not the main base for taking investment decision but they serve as conformational tools especially if you are using it with the news. The market on it's own is even more confusing without an indicator it might make investors guess on market trends and expect the market obey their own predictions
Yes, more or less I just do as gambling because most of the time I go with my instincts based on the news and to be honest I was right most of the time also I set realistic targets like 3 to 5% but not everyday once I achieve I like to take a break then start fresh and just goes on.
2255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin mining a zero-sum game? Or is it a race to the top? on: June 09, 2022, 11:06:19 AM
Big firms like Intel are coming into the sector by bringing their custom ASIC knowledge to produce processors for SHA-256 hashing, according to a recent story in Bitcoin Magazine, stating categorically that newcomers and small mining businesses will face more challenges when more efficient mining machines are introduced.
To my knowledge, the mining algorithm was created as a 'Red Queen Game2', or a multi-leader Stackelberg game for the economists out there. The Nash equilibrium isn't supposed to be affected by the advent of technologies that cut the cost of mining operations—at least not if all participants have equal access to them.

But I can't help but wonder if these new big time players could use new technology to greatly influece the Mining and Hashing power of bitcoin thereby reducing its efficiency. What are your thoughts on this?

Everything is same, if intel can produce more efficient miners then miners will switch so they can cut expenses and earn a little more but it is not really going to influence or affect the mining industry of bitcoin because already people who have enough machine powers can mine bitcoin and others moved to other possible shitcoins since they can't really withstand the difficult rate.
2256  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA is scared of a super continent called "EuroAsia" on: June 09, 2022, 09:15:01 AM
Is there any reason for them to join? Because speculating for reason is just useless and waste of time. Even the countries in ASIA join together itself enough to make other countries to look smaller but these things are never going to happen because continent made of different countries and being ally with different super nations so there won't be any joining like the topic says.
2257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will countries ban Bitcoin mining due to environmental concerns? on: June 08, 2022, 02:30:08 PM
Countries can ban mining but the miners will move to other place and that is what exactly happened when China banned mining due to shortage of electricity. So Bitcoin mining can happen until all the countries ban mining but this isn't really due to environmental concern just a reason to stop the future of decentralized payment system.
2258  Other / Meta / Re: Not sure where to ask this. So lets try here. on: June 08, 2022, 12:50:33 PM
How do I close old alt accounts that I can't access?
There is no delete option available in bitcointalk like we see in facebook and Instagram  Cheesy

Anyway you don't have access then you no need to worry but if the account hacked by someone so you lost your access then create thread in reputation section with the evidence that account belongs to you and how you lost account so it will be tagged and then its almost useless here.
2259  Economy / Speculation / Re: Realist World of Crypto Space on: June 08, 2022, 10:50:32 AM
People like them are just trying to get attention with those predictions based on nothing, its hard to see still people are giving attention to them even though if it supports cryptocurrency still why we have to follow them and expect their prediction to come true?

Probably the tweet was made when the person is high, ETH will surpass bitcoin first then BTC will reach 1 million rlvery soon after that but then after few decades bitcoin will become the reserve currency looks too contrary right?
