You bet!  Although I did had a pleasant exchange of several hundred thousand TIX with @bishop_Pavel.

Only negative is the price isn't completely stable yet. Cryptsy is strange for putting TIX on the XPM market, wonder what's the logic behind that decision?  Huh At least it on two markets now and we'll see if the price goes even higher once GPU mining is no longer profitable. Cool you had a good trade exchange with @bishop_Pavel. What ever happen with Angel_of_Heaven trade? Did that go through or not?

Way safer trading.... Smiley

Lottery Tickets is now the FIRST coin traded on the XPM Market
Thanks Paul and John, we are honored to be the first ones in this market

https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/103

Dang it...Now I got to transfer back to there...lol....The tix.coinmine.pl pool estimate is wrong, it should be in xpm if it's using the exchange rate of Cryptsy....Or it should use Bter's BTC or LTC exchange rate...

Just a suggestion, you should tell the mining pools that have a BTC/day calculation to add it with the Bter trade rates....

The Small Time Miner
http://tix.smalltimeminer.com

I've added the estimated BTC earnings/day to the pool, with the random rewards your earnings might off by a wide margin.

Cool. I took a look. Nice to have an estimate if the coin is profitable still to mine. The random reward does make it not accurate to estimate, but it's nice to have some thing to gauge with.
2245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD New Generation Radeon R9 290X!!!!! on: October 01, 2013, 03:12:35 AM
No it wont, compute unit of GNC2 i weak!

The 7990 is a dual GPU card and I've seen all comparisons online for the new R9 with the GTX Titan which is also a single GPU card...
And I got all excited about this new R9 290X... What is the current best AMD based card for mining Scrypt?
I know the 7950 and 7970 but you need quite a few of them to have a meaningful hashrate. I would try a 7990, has anyone had experience with it?
My Asus Ares 2 was a monster card but I pushed it so hard that it died on me after a month... RIP.
The reason is that I rather have less cards but more powerful so that I also need less motherboards, cpu's, PSUs, etc.
Indeed, density matters.
From what I've seen around the forum, the 7990's are very hard to cool. Make sure you undervolt and use PCI-e powered raisers

Most people water cool them and undervolt them to keep temps down. It's does save on space, but the heat issue and the crossfire issues make it not as good as the 7950 or 7970 in crossfire. Plus the 7950 has the best watt/hash rate.

AMD New Generation Radeon R9 290X!!!!!

AMD Hawaii GPU has 2816 Stream Processors

http://videocardz.com/45837/amd-hawaii-gpu-2816-stream-processors

if mining LTC,
msi 7950 will get 660 kb/s
what hashing speed it will be?

how u guys think about it.

thanks.

Probably around 25% to 50% more hash power then a 7970. So, probably around 875 to 1000 kh/s with the hardware specs of the 512-bit mem bus and 2816 SPU's....It should be probably use the same wattage as a 7970 or in between a 7970 and 7950....This is just my guess on it, so don't go by it 100%....
2247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does some confirmation take long? Others times are faster. on: October 01, 2013, 02:02:21 AM
Just curious, what factors contribute to confirmations? I did two same amount transactions: one took 88 and the other took about 1500.

3 things . Hash rate, difficulty and possibly your fee.

Network hash rate? How does difficulty affect it? Why would the fee be a factor? I was depositing 2 equal amounts to a trade market and one was faster then the other one.

or that bter put it with ltc not btc. It needs to be on the ltc market since for one you can't even put the price in without doing the tab after pasting.

It's on both the BTC and LTC markets

It's cool that it's on both markets....Trade value seems fair so far....

Wait until the Chinese get wind of it. They love the big reward small price coins

2253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are alt coins profitable to mine at the moment? on: September 30, 2013, 02:13:17 AM
Today I have mined 100 cgb in a 24 hour period and have been burning 7.5kwh - 8kwh on average. My electricity cost here in the UK is 11.5 pence per kwh (and that is one of the cheapest tariffs) so that is £22.08 per 24 hours. The cgb I have mined are only worth around £18!!!

The electricity is everything used including switches, router,  extractor and inlet fans.

I find the coinwarz calculator to be over optimistic for the number of coins mined as well.

Is anyone actually making any money?

Coinwarz is slow on updates and/or inaccurate at times with the profits. Also, they don't have other coins that are more profitable to mine on there. To be honest, mining has some many variables to account for: equipment costs, electricity usage/cost per kwhr, a coin's exchange rate, difficulty mining the coin, etc..... I'm have second thoughts of backing out of mining and just buying coins outright and selling at the right time, just like the stock market....Electricity companies are making a killing off of miners....Last month, after electricity cost, I made $70 USD with my 3 GPU card setup.....Just put it like this, not something enough to make a living off of yet....Only those who were fortunate to mine the first 3 years of Bitcoin and 1st year of Litecoin, made the most profits....

Just a word of caution...I initiated a trade of 3.5 BTC for 400,000,000 TIX with "Angel_of_Heaven" yesterday.  I sent the BTC and verified that it was sent via a block chain explorer.  24 hours later I have yet to receive the TIX.  Though I would hope there is a good reason for the delay, the only thing that comes to mind is the word "SCAM".  Anyway, I just wanted to warn others before considering a trade with "Angel_of_Heaven".

Live and learn.  If I actually receive the TIX owed to me, I'll update this post.

I just hate seeing people getting scammed like this.  I had a trade with him just last week but he sent first.  I hope he is just away for the weekend and have no access to the internet.  I would wait until Monday before slapping the scam label on him.

You can use me as escrow in future trade if you want.  No fee and you don't have to tip me either.

-tb-

Thanks techbytes.  I'm hoping that he is just AFK.  I may have jumped the gun but he said the TIX would be sent as soon as the BTC was received.  What makes me more suspicious is that Angel_of_Heaven's profile shows "online" the couple of times I checked since the transaction.  Regardless, I hate to speak poorly of someone so I'll take your advice and wait until Monday.  I'll delete the poor trust rating until then as well.

Any sign of your coins as yet? this is why it needs to get on an exchange now i guess. Did you send him the entire 3.5btc upfront?

No, no response from Angel at all.  Sent two polite PMs.

Yes, I sent him the entire 3.5 BTC up front.  I should have known better.

Damn, that's quite a bad rip off right there if he doesn't come through. TBH i think you would have heard from him by now. Fingers crossed but if he does not get him on the scammers list asap before others are caught out. I would freak out losing 3.5btc to a scammer.

Shall we start a new thread to get some plan of action about getting this coin on cryptsy or some other exchange. I mean that's 3.5btc wasted because there isn't currently one supporting this coin. How are 2GH + spikes of miners not pushing for this to hit an exchange now? I mean the poker site could take some time so i guess no real point waiting for that before getting it on an exchange.

Just look at the Cryptsy and Bter threads. People are asking for it left and right. Surprised nobody added it yet considering this one hasn't broken once and several coins on Cryptsy especially seem to be missing every other day from broken code, not to mention the massive premine dumping they are letting run rampant these days.  Guess their standards have changed. Really hoping for Bter to pick us up anyway. Here's their info, but if any of you want to start your own thread asking to be added, feel free. That might work better

Their emails:

mcxNOW: support@mxcNOW.com

Bter: support@bter.com

And their threads:

It is taking a while. Even copperbars (CPR), went on Cryptsy fairly fast for a scrypt-jane coin. I sent a support ticket a week ago to Cryptsy. When will the checkpoint be updated for the blockchain?

Something strange is going on, im in process of doing some development.
Now i send 500 TIX from my home windows wallet to a "wallet server vps" with latest GIT LotteryTickets built from source on linux.
Now i do a  "./LotteryTicketsd getbalance 0 " on the linux box and im told my balance has now gone from 00.0000 to...
8291420363.63348293

Yet i only sent 500, i tested this with a new account "1" same deal.

Any idea whats up here, i am new to "bitcoin" "daemons" so maybe its something simple like it always does this ??
A "getinfo" shows the correct balance, so maybe this is a standard thing im not familiar with??
sorry any explanation would be appreciated. Is this something to do with confirmations?

Every account has the same large balance, but just a standard showbalance gives the correct 500.
ie: showbalance 1 gives 8291420363.63348293
    showbalance testtest gives 8291420363.63348293
    showbalance 99 gives  8291420363.63348293
    showbalance gives 500.000000

This kind of makes it impossible to develop anything??? Once again sorry for my newbie question.

Found this on the GIT bug section:
Quote

There is an issue LotteryTicketsd's RPC command getbalance. Whenever I give it an account it gives some value like 2065707226646.21020508. If the account doesn't exist, or has 0 balance, that is what it returns. Otherwise, it returns real balance + that value (in some cases some rounding takes place).

Here is another example: I have one account with 8797256.05272000 TIX. getbalance onthataccount gives x = 2065716023902.26293945. x - 2065707226646.21020508 = 8797256.052734375

Whats the story here any news?

Sounds like a linux code issue. On windows getbalance command works fine. Maybe I'll try to send my windows wallet balance to my linux wallet and see if it does the same issue.

GPU efficiency just drop today for me. Was hashing at 5500 kh/s, now at 3600 kh/s. In the beginning I was hashing 7500 kh/s....Looks like one or two more weeks, GPU mining will be not so efficient...
2257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Post Pictures and Mining Rig Info. Just for the heck of it..... on: September 27, 2013, 10:23:41 PM
i have a similar setup to the OP and have CPU mined a lot and at times i fairly profitable..
but i have a e7500 one of the last gen ones at 1333fsb and i think its a Kentsfield.
I specifically avoided buying a quad because my board has problems OC'ing those old quads
and at almost stock voltage i can jack up the CPU 28% and the FSB 41% on air..
i bet your trying to save electricity costs they lol

Definitely trying to save on electricity cost$$$$$$ and still have performance....LOL...I hash about 825~850 kh/sec total.....Also, $0.1323 /Kwhr isn't one of the cheapest rates in the US, but supposedly my area they with half the cost because we live in a valley area....Hopefully next month as PG&E quoted....I'm thinking of slowly buying a few solar panels at a time to make a setup that can power between 5~10 kw/hr with one of those kit off of ebay....
2258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you prefer to get your used hardware from? on: September 27, 2013, 10:15:24 PM
bitmit, the newbies have the best deals but its a gamble if they ship or ignore you and your coins sit in escrow for a week.

Haven't tried bitmit yet. I'll take a look at it...

i'd vote first ebay.. and you can get new hardware for cheap too
but online retailers can have pretty cheap deals too like tigerdirect or newegg

Ebay is pretty consistent. I was going to bid on 2x HD 5970's for $50 each, but forgot too...lol....The only issue with those cards was refluxing the GPU and memory modules.....Today I just got a Antec Nine Hundred case and a Silverstone 1000w Modular PSU for $20 off of Craigslist...Just missing a couple mobo standoffs and 4 modular cables, but 100% tested and fully functional PSU.... Grin...Sorry, the flash blocked of the stats of the PSU test, but all the voltages are within specs....

2259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Startup Lite Coin mining on: September 27, 2013, 04:40:09 PM

I'm only making about .05BTC/day with my rig...I just figured that i could make more with Litecoin and hope for the rise. I already have enough BTC so im just trying to branch out.

BTC Mining is only profitable with ASIC and FPGA miners. I would suggest to mine the most profitable scrypt based coin, then convert via trade for LTC and/or BTC. That's how I'm doing it at the moment. Right now, Lotterytickets (TIX), potentially is the best investment, just waiting for it to hit a trade market. I only mine during off peak hours to save on electricity, paying $0.1323 Kw/hr rate.
2260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Post Pictures and Mining Rig Info. Just for the heck of it..... on: September 27, 2013, 04:31:29 PM
These are from our old store. 4x7950 in each one, two per "case" - All these are of the same build in different stages, none of them are the finished product, though. These are old pics, and yes, I know we don't have all the GPU's hooked up in these pics. We are up to almost 20 of these, now, but working on getting out of GPU mining

Planning to do a couple open setups eventually. 2 to 4 of them, possibly solar powered(Sunny California, LOL). Waiting for the new AMD GPU, so I can buy people's old HD 7590's for cheap...hehe
