2243  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] Vividtoken Signature Campaign - Hero/Legendary BTC/Token Payouts! on: March 31, 2018, 05:33:07 PM
Alright so let me update you guys on the current situation..

The payments have been sent out (finally, sorry about that again).

This campaign will not continue. The Dev of Vividtoken has said that he is not seeing any results from this campaign and can't justify the cost of running it. He wanted me to cut the payments down by 75% and at that point it won't be worth it for any of you guys to stick with it, let alone for me to manage it. I am really sorry about this development, this is not how I prefer to do business and I will understand if you feel let down or angry with me.

I can let you in on a little secret, next Friday, april the 6th I will take over another campaign that's been running here on the forum for a long time.. I have a guarantee that this one will run for a minimum of 6 months and I would love it if you guys were to apply for it. I will update you all through a PM when I've posted the thread about it (probably early next week).

Thanks for your stay in this one and please know that I wanted to look out for your best interests and it just won't work with this one.

This means that you can now remove the signature & avatar, there will be no more payments sent out.

Hhampuz, there is nothing you could have done differently so no worries at all.

Keep me posted on your next venture.

PM if interested.
2245  Economy / Collectibles / Re: SURVEY: WHO has/will go back to Anacs for Coin Grading? on: March 30, 2018, 11:45:26 PM
You make some great points. Unfortunately PCGS and NGC are not interested as the risk vs reward is not favorable.
What's the risk, if I might ask?  I get that the reward might be pretty small, but I'm not seeing how grading crypto tokens is risky, at least any more so than traditional coins.

Both NGC and pcgs guarantee the authenticity of the coins they grade.  If you buy a coin in one of their slabs and it turns out to be fake they pay you the market value of the coin as if it was real.   That  would be most unfortunate  for them if a seiries of loaded coins were swept after they graded them.

Right, but as you pointed out yourself they don’t guarantee the authenticity of denarius coins..why couldn’t it be the same where it’s a sub sector simply with a different set of rules? We also have to remember they charge more than ANACS & who’s to say the couldn’t tack on a little extra “crypto” fee..I’d be okay with that if reasonable. If they don’t seriously consider it they’re fools. In today’s world businesses are constantly branching in to new sectors that have nothing to do with their core business. That isn’t even the case here. It makes too much sense to me.

Hmmm, you make a very valid point.  I spoke with NGC about this in December, I send a small amount of coins to them for grading on a regular basis, and that is what they told me.  Perhaps the volume is not enough to interest them?  Companies like MCM send them 100,000 plus coins per year for grading, we are small potatoes to have to set up a new process for.

I'm not sure this would be the case for loaded Crypto but it would definitely be nice.  Smiley

On a side note - I've seen USPS registered mail being touted as up to 50k USD of insurance available.  Has anyone claimed and received compensation for a lost registered mail shipment that had loaded value?  I've seen some information on the web that makes me think USPS would NEVER pay out an insurance claim for a loaded value for a Crypto related coin which is why I ask.

I do registered quite a bit for Casascius coins and other high value items. Never had to make a claim as they seemingly rarely get lost.  That said, I would never try to claim loaded crypto value as I agree that would be a very difficult battle.  I always make sure my package weighs enough that i can claim there were X ounces of gold in the package and that is equal to the actual value of what was in the package.  I have legitimate invoices for gold purchases.

Is there really any way that these two companies revenues have not being going down at least a little over the past few years?  A struggling collector hobby which is rapidly loosing it's main customer base. Which should be telling when in the past decade the world's economies have mostly been booming.
Just FYI, I've been an investor in CLCT for a while now, which is the PCGS company, and their stock price has tanked as of late and they cut their dividend in half recently.  They're in trouble.  So my opinion is that it absolutely would not hurt for them to be approached by the crypto coin community to see about grading some of these great tokens (that's the difference in their eyes, these are not "coins").  I'm actually kind of surprised that they haven't jumped on board with this yet.  Usually if a competitor is making money from something, a la ANACS, a company will follow suit.

As I said, I'm not part of this community.  Have either PCGS or NGC issued any kind of guidance regarding this?  Has anyone approached them?

I'd say branching in to other sectors WITHIN their playing field could and would make a lot of sense.
That's what I'm saying, but I have to profess ignorance as to whether anyone has requested they start grading physical crypto yet.  And I'd find it hard to believe that they'd be unaware of the existence of these fine pieces of exonumia, since these people specialize in coins and, I would presume, know a little something about tokens--AND that they would at least keep an eye on what ANACS is doing.  My guess is that they see it as a small market and have their hands full already, grading the yearly silver eagles and other bullion products by the thousands.

I'd be curious to know how many total crypto coins you guys have sent to ANACS per year and whether there would be enough demand in their eyes.  Grabbing less than 100% of a what's already a small market might not be worth it to PCGS or NGC.

I can do this for you.  I buy and sell quite a bit of gold/silver here in the forum which you can see in both my trust feedback and topics started by me.  I also have a Sigma Metalyics Precious Metal verifier so will confirm it is not fake (though with APMEX you have no worries really).

PM if interested.

OP, you should contact user MagicalTux as he has lots of BTC and a love for Katana.  Below is a photo of him guarding his previous company's cold storage facility.  He needs a better sword as someone did manage to steal many of the btc from cold storage.

2257  Economy / Collectibles / Re: A long post about a Series 2, PAPERSAFE SATOSHI NOTE #100 on: March 29, 2018, 03:38:57 PM
I would do #4 as it is cleanest and will not alienate any potential bidders.

I would also start the auction at zero and let it run a week.

So I *think* I am going to do an auction.

Not sure when yet. Probably in a few weeks as I know a lot of people are away for Easter / Passover this week and the week after income tax is due here in the US so a lot of people tighten up their wallets.

I was also thinking of doing a charity split. I keep 1/2 and I donate 1/2.

I would like to get some peoples opinion on this. Last few times I have done charity auctions I have gotten some flack. As in "why this one instead of that one" or "didn't you know that the one you picked is not as good as this other one". Or, "why are you donating to that charity, it's US based only what about the rest of the world" Along with, the ever popular "can you prove you donated it and just didn't keep the money" (I may or not be able to depending on how I donate).

I figure some the the complainers are just there to complain. Others might skip the auction totally because I do not support their cause. And some I donate too might go against what some people agree with. And some people are juts assholes. I got a rude PM about donating to Island Harvest https://www.islandharvest.org/ on another forum....I'm sorry if feeding the hungry offends you.

So, the questions are.

1) Do I do it and just say 1/2 goes to a charity of my choice that is rated well at charity navigator but you will not know which one. (This might be best)

2) Do I give a list of ones I would donate to anyway and let the winner choose which one. I figure I can put out a broad enough scope that they should be able to find something.

3) Do I do it the other way and let the winner give me a list and I pick, within certain conditions. (Not sure what other then a good rating on charity navigator / charity watch and no "hate groups")

OR

4) Do I not mention it at all, and only the people who actually read this thread will know about it. Once I get the BTC I can give it to who I want when I want and it's none of their business.

Looking for some input because I keep going around in circles in my brain.

Thanks,
Dave

[Also #5 do I wait for BTC to bounce back up before doing the auction]
2258  Economy / Collectibles / Re: SURVEY: WHO has/will go back to Anacs for Coin Grading? on: March 28, 2018, 11:05:52 PM
I have only gotten a few coins sent into their for grading, took forever. I am a big fan of the new cases I really like the jungle green but not many people do... the warning there will just scare off new people but anyone buying a loaded coin should understand how to confirm a balance.

LOL.. I think you are the only person who has said that about the jungle slabs. Personally, I would not mind them so much if they changed the black ink to white so you could actually read the slabs better, but according to PAUL, the PRICK at ANACS who orchestrated that whole f'in mess, said NO, NEVER! on that suggestion.... LOL... Anyhow, I'm done with them. I've sent back MS69 coins for reholdering since the new holograms on the back practically flake off on touch, and one came back looking like it got dropped on a concrete floor, it has a big fucking ding in the rim at 6pm sharp... If you saw this coin, you would never think it was MS69 anymore. I called and screamed at them. I will probably crack the slab and just put it in an airtite. I'd feel like a scammer even trying to sell it, omg I was so fucking mad at them LOL... Tongue

Is it time to fly to Colorado, throw on our Guy Fawkes masks, and throw rocks at their building?  I have been waiting for this moment!

2260  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] SaltySpitoon's Silver "Garlic" Bread Loaves DIY Wallets *In Stock* on: March 27, 2018, 10:54:51 PM
Damn, what you have SS making ChiBitcity?  That looks cool!

Ah, its just a chain I was playing around with. I traded a garlic loaf to ChiBit's for a silver bar, so I melted it, alloyed it, made an ingot, milled it into wire, and then wound and cut the wire into loops. Now its a chain/bracelet. Not really my forte, but I figured since I have a rolling mill, I might as well give it a shot.

Its ~97% silver, 1.5% Germanium, and 1.5% Copper, a custom uncommon silver alloy. I haven't polished it yet, but its way whiter than white gold, and has a nice deep platinum luster. In addition, it should be ~7-10x more tarnish resistant than sterling silver. Its classified as Argentium silver I'd guess, but thats typically 93.5% silver ~1% germanium, and 6.5% copper. When exposed to air, germanium oxides form on the surface creating a tarnish resistant layer, similar to how aluminum oxidizes.

Here are a few pictures as the wire got made:

And a ring I threw together, again I didn't have the right tools so its no where near done right. It hasn't been polished, filed, or formed properly, so its pretty ugly, but. The one in the middle is the silver, the one above it is platinum, and the diamond ring below it is white gold. I did order the right tools (I think) so we'll see if I can't make something pretty in the future.

That is some really cool stuff you are working on!  I really dig that you are making custom alloys.  Thanks for sharing.
